Soldier ‘shot by rifle on target range’ is ‘second Black Watch serviceman’ killed in live-firing exercise this year – “A soldier who was ‘shot by a rifle on a target range’ is the second member of the same battalion to die in a live-firing exercise this year, it’s been reported. Emergency services were called to RAF Tain near Inverness, Scotland, at around 6pm on Tuesday to an incident involving multiple service members. Police Scotland said one person had died but there were “no other casualties as a result of the incident” and the victim’s next of kin has been informed.” Clearly the Black Watch battalion is going to have to do a better job of training their rifles.

When public opinion and the law are against you… Hillary: Impose Gun Control by Judicial Fiat -“Hillary’s focus on repealing the PLCAA seems strange: it’s been on the books for eleven years, it was passed by 2-1 bipartisan majorities (65-31 Senate, 283-144 House), and every suit it has blocked is one that should never have been filed. Yet oppose it Hillary does. Her campaign webpage proposes to ‘Take on the gun lobby by removing the industry’s sweeping legal protection for illegal and irresponsible actions (which makes it almost impossible for people to hold them accountable), and revoking licenses from dealers who break the law.’ She told the Bridgeport News that ‘as president, I would lead the charge to repeal this law.’ In Iowa, she called the PLCAA “one of the most egregious, wrong, pieces of legislation that ever passed the Congress.”

Buy low… Ammunition Market Size Projected To Reach $16.07 Billion By 2024 – “The global ammunition market is expected to reach USD 16.07 billion by 2024, according to a new report by Grand View Research, Inc. Increasing terrorist activities, coupled with arms race amongst emerging economies in the recent past is projected to fuel industry growth over the next eight years. Civil and defense are the two key end-uses in the market. The civil end-use is further segmented into law enforcement, self-defense, and sports & hunting.”

Preemption be damned: Lexington lawmaker files ‘Trinity Gay Bill’ to address gun violence – “Senator Reginald Thomas, D-Lexington, has pre-filed legislation, which he plans to call the ‘Trinity Gay Bill’ to address the growing problem of gun violence. Under Senator Thomas’ legislation, urban-county governments and consolidated local governments, such as Lexington and Louisville, would be granted the ability to regulate firearms by ordinance. They also would be able to regulate the manufacture, sale, purchase, taxation, transfer, ownership, possession, carrying, storage, and transportation of firearms, firearms components, ammunition, and ammunition components, as long as it does not conflict with the U.S. Constitution.

‘Freeze Frame’ creator Debbie Allen tackles gun violence with dance:

Finally…someone’s actually doing something about urban violence.
