I’ve been using the SIG SAUER P938 in my “Ammo Quest 9mm” series to find the best-performing self defense ammo for small pocket pistols. The P938 is simply an excellent gun, and the reviews I’ve seen are usually quite positive. But I recently encountered a downright disturbing trait of the 938 — it can actually eject and discard its guide rod.
In this video I show what can happen, what I encountered, and how SIG made it right. If you have a P938, this may very well happen to you too.
Searching the internet, I found that there are reports of this happening since at least 2012, perhaps earlier, so it’s a “known issue.” But I didn’t know it. So I figured you may not know it either. But now, you do. Check your pistol, keep it properly maintained, and stay safe!
