SAF/CCRKBA Gun Rights Policy Conference Convenes in Chicago

The 29th annual Gun Rights Policy Conference officially kicked off this morning in Chicago at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare. Approximately 275 good guy activists from throughout the nation are on hand in Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s murder city, learning about pro-gun rights strategies that have proven results in furthering Americans’ firearm civil rights. The stakes are high, of course, for everyday Americans. Chicago is a perfect example of what happens when rights-hating politicians impose racist, sexist and classist gun control schemes upon a population. Just this week in the Windy City, 54 people have been shot with four killed. In short, violent crime skyrockets and disarmed law-abiding people are slaughtered . . .

Stephen Halbrook, one of our favorite good guy litigators, was one of the early speakers Saturday morning, discussing some of the tactics socialists in Germany used in the years leading up to World War II, disarming the Jews and other “undesirables.” Most notably, it wasn’t all legislative acts that were used, but executive orders from national leaders. That may remind some of you of Barack Obama’s promises to use “executive action” to achieve his agenda that he’s unable to get through Congress.

The Second Amendment Foundation-sponsored event is all about teaching what has worked in the fight for firearm civil rights and how attendees can take some of those strategies back to their hometowns to continue the positive momentum of expanding Second Amendment freedoms.

If you’re within a short drive to Chicago, it’s worth your time to come on out. Registration is open to gun activists and there are plenty of presentations on the agenda today (agenda here) with more scheduled for Sunday.

John Boch is president of Guns Save Life.
