I received an email today from letargets.com. I was struck by the fact that none of their “realistic targets” included a person of color. So I clicked over to the website’s Scenario Targets section. Same deal. Not a single African American on the home page. Delving a bit deeper, I discovered a few token black people posing a pictorial threat to practicing shooters. As a white person (also African American) I resent the fact that my race has been singled-out for ballistic bullying. We’ve been stereotyped as thugs, robbers, nut cases, suicide bombers, etc. If you look at the ethic makeup of actual criminals (chart after the jump), it’s clear to see that letstarget.com is targeting Caucasians. Literally. Is that fair?
