We’ve been hearing from little birdies that the Smith & Wesson Shooting Sports Center in Springield, Mass. is no more. Ringing them up only gets you a voice mail message saying that they’re “closed for inventory until further notice.” Srsly? We’re in the middle of a historic gun boom – just check out Smith’s share price. Isn’t there a way to tally the stock without shuttering the joint for days on end? Wouldn’t a retail store and range with the S&W name on it be a license to coin money? When asked whazzup, their PR people didn’t have enough info to comment, but inquiring minds really want to know.
