While this website stands at the center of the fight to defend and extend Americans’ natural, civil and Constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms, we know full well just how easy it is to subvert any and all firearms laws. The video of the Batman-style grappling hook gun above, as well as the wide variety of firearms for sale at your local gun store, demonstrate the engineering talent available to gun guys around the country. But forget CAD-CAM and 3D printers. It’s easy enough to roll your own. Check this out . . .

And what about this story [via vancouversun.com] on the “Dr. Frankenstein” of firearms, recently arrested for fabricating fully-automatic automatic GLOCKs and ARs and silencers and whatnot?

Police allege Bradley Michael Friesen, 37, was a gun expert who had been running a weapons workshop out of his rented property in the 21000-block of 95A Avenue.

Sgt. Lindsey Houghton of the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit B.C. called Friesen a “Dr. Frankenstein” of weapons who was commissioned to illegally alter firearms — including Glocks and machine guns — to silence them, increase their firepower or turn them from semi- to fully-automatic.

Friesen allegedly sold his gun parts — including Glock auto sears, switches and silencers — via the Internet and mail across Canada, the U.S. and Australia. . .

A Tuscon, Ariz. division of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives alerted the CFSEU to his activities in May and began surveillance shortly afterward, Houghton revealed at a news conference Thursday at RCMP E Division headquarters in Surrey.

Police believe Friesen was selling to various gang and criminal organizations, but did not identify which ones.

Friesen was arrested without incident while camping with his five-year-old son in Osoyoos on July 17. Police say the boy was in the car seat with an unloaded sub-machine gun allegedly stored at his feet and gun parts underneath his car booster seat.

Also in Friesen’s possession were a fully-automatic assault rifle, one converted assault rifle, one sub-machine gun, 32 illegal Glock auto switches which can make the guns automatic, seven silencers and numerous ammunition magazines, many of which were altered to increase their firepower, say police.

Later, at his residence, police discovered another semi-automatic weapon, books on silencer manufacture, 10 additional silencers and other items. In total, 2500 rounds of ammunition were seized from various locations.

So rest assured that no one’s coming for your guns. Well, if/when they do, if things get that bad for liberty-loving supporters of firearms freedom, you can make your own gun. Can’t you?
