BREAKING: James Brady Dead at Age 73

Former Reagan press secretary and long-time gun control advocate James Brady, whose shooting during a 1981 assassination attempt spawned the eponymous Brady Campaign to Prevent Handgun Violence, died today at age 73 of what his family’s statement called “a series of health issues.” NBC News had the family’s full statement via Twitter (after the jump). Comments that violate TTAG’s policy and give aid and comfort to those who stand with the late Mr. Brady on the subject of civilian disarmament will be deleted . . .
