There was a dog and pony show at the White House yesterday for anti-gun attorneys general to mug for the cameras and appear to be “doing something” about “gun violence.” From the Boston Globe’s fawning promo article: “’We strongly believe that investigation and analysis by national experts will assist our offices to to more effectively target our resources, advocacy, and enforcement.’ The letter is an act of political courage in an era when Second Amendment pride seems to have, at times, trumped common sense.” Really? Name one other issue of any significance that “national experts” have done anything to improve. While we’re on the subject of empty, meaningless gestures . . .
Shrine to Victims of Illegally Purchased Guns Pops Up in South Philly – “The innocent people that are being victimized are in need of healing, and reconciliation is needed between two opposing points of view,” said Genito, referring to those in favor of and opposed to gun control. That being said, the organizations do not aim to advocate for gun control, but instead to limit the sale of illegal guns. Additionally, they hope to educate citizens about methods to limit illegal gun sales. The Heeding God’s Call website lists 10 ways that gun dealers can assist in this, including videotaping sales and making sure that guns are securely stored.”

The company previously called its building co-owned with Horizon Tech home, but XS Sights will move its operations further down the road to 2401 Ludelle St., Fort Worth, Texas.”
Loretta Weinberg takes case for smart guns to White House – New Jersey’s doyenne of disarmament was at the Washington anti-gun confab yesterday, too. “At the conference, participants were told of the research being done on smart guns. ‘Star Wars is here,’ Weinberg said. ‘ There is no reason we can’t see this move forward, assuming the gun lobby gets out of the way.'” Or maybe Weinberg could repeal her ludicrous poison pill law that’s the single biggest obstacle to “smart gun” acceptance across the country.
