Your government at work: VA Actively Depriving Veterans of Second Amendment Rights – “Although I’ve vociferously spoken out against the VA being able to strip individuals’ Second Amendment rights, in all honesty, until today, I had not seen a case where a veteran had actually been denied in the absence of an actual involuntary mental health commitment or formal adjudication of incompetence. Today, that all changed. While past stories discuss denying a veteran, where the veteran elected to have a third-party handle his/her financial affairs (and of course, I have to question how someone who is deemed to be ‘incompetent’ can execute a form competently…but I digress), my client’s denial is far more egregious – as if, I ever thought I could see such a situation.”

Female shooter to mullahs: GFY Indian Shooter Heena Sidhu Refuses To Wear A Hijab, Withdraws From Airgun Competition In Iran – “India’s ace shooter Heena Sidhu has made a bold statement by refusing to wear the hijab for competing in an Airgun competititon in Iran. The tournament, Asian Airgun Shooting Championship, is slated to be held in December in Tehran. Heena, who is the defending champion, has withdrawn from the meet because of Iran’s insistence on female contestants adhering to the dress code according to which it is mandatory for female participants to wear the ‘hijab’. ”

No ambiguity here: Saying goodbye to guns – “While one has to parse every word uttered by Mrs. Clinton to find where she really stands, her position on the individual right of Americans to ‘keep and bear arms’ is far clearer than she might like it to be, which may explain why in a recent national poll 38 percent of Americans listed an attack on their Second Amendment rights as their ‘greatest fear.’”

Don’t be surprised to see guns at New Hampshire polls, officials say – “With tensions running high ahead of next week’s election, state officials in New Hampshire said they have been getting questions about whether it is legal to bring guns to the polls. The short answer, according to state officials, is ‘yes.’ ‘As far as New Hampshire election law is concerned, there are no specific prohibitions on bringing a firearm into a polling place,’ said Assistant Attorney General Brian Buonamano.” And don’t be surprised when nothing at all happens.

Philippines’ Duterte rails at U.S. ‘monkeys’ for halting gun sale – “Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte chided the United States on Wednesday for halting the planned sale of 26,000 rifles to his country, calling those behind the decision ‘fools’ and ‘monkeys’ and indicating he might turn to Russia and China instead. Duterte’s tirades against the former colonial power are routine during his speeches and he said on Wednesday he once believed in Washington, but had since lost respect for what is the Philippines’ biggest ally. The U.S. State Department halted the sale of the assault rifles to the Philippine police after U.S. Senator Ben Cardin said he would oppose it, Senate aides told Reuters on Monday.”

Masked teens with BB guns charged with criminal mischief – “Three teenagers who knocked on the door of a College Station apartment while wearing Halloween masks were arrested Monday night after several windows were shot with a BB gun. Damian Navarro, Latearrance Hamilton and Derrick West, all 17, were charged with criminal mischief causing between $100 and $749 of damage, a Class B misdemeanor. West was also charged with disorderly conduct — display of a weapon or firearm. According to the police report, the men knocked on the door of the Holleman Drive apartment around 9 p.m. and said ‘trick or treat.'” Next year stick to TP and eggs.

Russian cosmonauts packed some serious heat with this pistol – “The Russians have been packing heat in low Earth orbit for decades. Along with fishing gear and a first aid kit, the Granat-6 survival kit in every Soyuz spacecraft has a Makarov PM semi-automatic pistol and plenty of ammunition.”
