Israeli Settlers Fire on Palestinians

 [HTML1]

“Settlers from the West Bank village of Yitzhar clashed May 19 with residents of the Palestinian village Asira al-Qibliya,” jta.org reports. “A Palestinian man, 24 was injured in the head by the gunfire.” As always in the Middle East, context (or lack thereof) is everything. For those who seek more than a snippet, B’tselem (“The Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories”) released three videos of the confrontation. Click here for their YouTube channel. “Both sides claim that the other began the rock throwing and set the fires. At least three Israeli soldiers stood with the settlers and did not intervene as they fired on rock-throwing Palestinians.” And there’s the source of the viral outrage: Israeli soldiers didn’t act to prevent further carnage. Which didn’t happen.
