The Tisas Zigana PX-9 isn’t a new pistol, but it is new to the United States. Made by Tisas in Turkey and imported for the first time by Zenith Firearms, the PX-9 definitely goes out of its way to imitate a certain Croatian design but has a few choice upgrades which might make it of interest to American shooters.

First, the trigger doesn’t have a “split” design where a section of the trigger is forward of the remainder of the blade. It’s one solid piece which makes the trigger feel nicer to the touch.

Speaking of safeties, while there is no grip safety there is indeed a thumb safety on this 9mm model. It’s a good option for those who want a little more security that their firearm won’t discharge without their permission than the Hoot method.

The trigger is crisp and clean with a fairly short reset, and getting hits on targets was a Turkish delight. Three dot sights up top are easy to pick up and seem to be pretty well on target.

The handgun comes with three magazines and a cleaning kit and will reportedly retail for under $400.

    • Good to hear! I’m breaking a 9E out of layaway prison soon! I’ve seen a lot of grumblings online about getting parts/service for Turkish pistols lately. This one looks a lot like the new American pistol or the Remington new 9. Hey maybe a Turk gun for under 300bucks…

    • Beretta, Benelli, and others have their shotguns made in Turkey or have their barrels made there. Hell, Beretta owns a plant in Turkey. Stoeger is made in Turkey. Beretta moved their tooling for the Beretta 8000 Cougar Line to their plant in Turkey and sell the gun under the Stoeger name since they own Stoeger. Italian design, Italian tooling, Turkish labor (cheaper than Italy).

    • I think what they mean is it’s a new addition to their particular lineup; I doubt they are trying to say they’ve come up with a “new” design, right?

    • Your answer just confirms my resolve NOT to buy ANYTHING from Turkey.
But since you do not want anything to do with English: Cevabınız Türkiye’den HİÇBİR ŞEY satın almama kararımı doğruluyor.

  2. Easy guys I am not from Turkey, but they are smart cookies, and feisty they sure shot down the Russian Mig in Syria. Let keep them on our side.
