According to betsyriot.com, the anonymous group’s goal is “decentralized civil disobedience against gun culture.” In other words, “to prank, lambaste, and generally fuck up gun culture.” Well, they got me. I received the above Christmas card in the mail, expecting a generic Xmas message from one of the people who’ve provided goods or services to the family Farago. Opening the card, reading an insert inside the blank pages, the mood darkened . . .

Flipping over the insert revealed the true nature of my well-wishers . . .

We know that Michael Cargill, owner of Central Texas Gun Works, got one. One of the younger members of his family opened it. Nice, huh? NRA gun guy Colion Noir got one, too. Question: how did Betsy Riot get the home mailing addresses of so many People of the Gun?

  1. What…did they think we don’t know what guns can do?

Also, there’s really no context to the pictures. For all I know, these people were in car accidents or tried to commit suicide.

      • More like gang banger failed executions. Couldn’t this be argued as visual assault? Much like verbal assault… or sending seizure induing animations to people it would harm?

Id love to see a suit over it and where the funding is coming from.

    • These same pictures appeared in some context on TTAG some months ago, also attributed to some shameful practice of the NRA, as I recall. As it turns out these had nothing to do with the NRA or any pro-gun policy at all but were in fact failed suicide attempts. The real villains in the case, IMO, were the medical personnel who saved these individuals and forced them to live on in their disfigured state, as if they didn’t have enough emotional baggage in the first place.

        • If this is supposed to turn Americans against Guns; Wow, they’re dead Wrong. … .

As a Veteran, I’ve seen way more than what they purport to be from Gun Violence. … .

Today, 8 Innocent People were killed by a Terrorist Driving a Home Depot, Rental Truck. … .
If in fact, we are going to Ban the Sale of Firearms in the U.S., to stop the Violence; Guess again. … . If that were correct, to eliminate Violence by Banning any Inert Object, we would have to Ban Automobiles First. … . More People are Killed by Cars and Trucks, than by Guns. … . Or, how many are killed by Overdoses, Drugs are Illegal, Banned, yet we still see an abundance of Overdoses, Deaths by Vehicles and today, Death By a Terrorist, utilizing a Vehicle. … . Logic, tells us; If we are to stop Gun Violence, we need to begin by Stopping Criminals from obtaining Guns. … . We can do that, by not letting Criminals out of Prison and for those that commit Capital Crimes, there’s the Death Penalty and it needs to be imposed when ever necessary, with only 2 Appeals . … .

As for Guns, Every Man, Woman and Child, should own a Gun and know how and when to use them. … . To think; someone attacks an innocent, however they’re Armed, the Problem, can be easily Neutralized by simply taking out the Perpetrator . … . Problem Solved. … .

Guns Don’t Kill People; People Kill People . … .

      • I’m fairly certain they are from the Orlando shooting. At least I remember these pictures being used to wave the bloody shirt right after that happened.

        • No doubt they were used to wave the bloody shirt after Orlando. But they’re still botched suicide attempts and have nothing to do with Islamic terrorism.

    • As though one issue has fuck all to do with the other.

You folks are just bound and determined to keep running to opposites sides.

      “But they started it!”

      “No them!”

      “But they’re the real racists!”

“No, gun rights are about abortion!”

Fucking children. The people who sent these cards, and the guys who think a proper response has anything to do with the abortion debate.

        • Yes, a fetus may eventually turn into a beautiful human life. That said, I care fuck all what a woman does with an organism growing in her body, that is essentially a parasite until such time as it is capable of surviving outside of the womb. I care a great deal about my right to self defense. The latter is a valid political issue. The former is not.

        • You sound like a mindless drone of the anti-human radical enviromental movement. Repeating mantras of “parasite” and “organism.” Educated in government schools? Have you ever noticed that you were once a little baby in your mothers womb?

        • “Anti-human radical environmental movement.” That’s a good one. Without getting into a philosophical argument over which one of us is actually mindless, feel free to keep trying to draw a box around me. I know I’ve certainly drawn one around you.

        • Cjstl, by all possible scientific definition, not religious, a fetus is a human life and distinct from the mother.

          1. It consumes nutrients from its environment, extracts and uses energy, and creates waste. In short, it has a metabolism. Life according to science.

          2. It’s genome is human

          3. It’s genome is not that of its it’s mother’s, but contains some of hers, as well as some from a father, exactly as a born child has.

A fetus is a living human being. Can we agree on that?

        • A fetus is a DEVELOPING human being. I’ll agree to that term. However, it has no constitutionally protected rights, unlike my RKBA. So I still believe dead fetuses have no place in this conversation.

        • A developing human is still a human just as a human in ICU is still a human. Both are connected to life support. It’s no wonder Bald Eagle eggs have more rights than children in utero when people make silly distinctions such as this.

        • I don’t believe in God, so I don’t believe in God-given rights. I believe in only those rights which we give ourselves, and which we are willing to defend. I believe strongly in freedom of religion, but I also believe in freedom FROM religion. I have no doubt the Founding Fathers did as well.

        • So judging by your statements, because a baby in the womb can’t defend itself it can be eliminated. Noted. Your philosophies central platform would then essentially follow that “might makes right.” Kim Jong and his clan would agree with you along with most of the bloody dictators in history.
When do “parasites” become humans? When they are born? When they can carry a gun? Do they become human because some judge somewhere decided that at a certain point the parasite is now human? Nice philosophical viewpoint you have there. The “box” you formed for yourself is ever oh so clear.

        • No, because a baby in the womb can’t defend itself, it’s the mother’s choice to decide what to do with it. Up to a point. I’ve seen babies survive as early as 23 weeks, so I would put that point at 20 weeks. Unless the health of the mother is in jeopardy – I would always choose the mother over an unborn child.

      • To those who argue that there is no connection between being anti-gun and pro-abortion: It is to show the hypocrisy of the anti-gun zealots who claim to warn against loss of life by guns but who could not care less about loss of life by killing babies in the womb. Hypocrisy is the connection.

    • Exactly, Tim. And add in the comparative stats since 1973 comparing gunshot deaths and abortion deaths. Abortions, favored by liberals, account for what? 60 million deaths? And guns? Well, not so many, really.

  2. Best way to get revenge against monsters like these is to hit them where it hurts, their pocket books. Lawyer up and sue the tail off whoever shipped these things out. If anyone who opened these experienced emotional distress (which seems likely) those who sent it could be liable for big money. Don’t get mad, get even.

    • 2yrs ago I would have scoffed at this response, but then I was sued for a civil matter involving my safe and appropriate use of firearms on my high-acreage property out in west Texas. Unbelievable, right? I learned many things, but the applicable items are: 1. Go heavy and commit (to hiring a top notch attorney/setting aside funds/providing your legal council all the data they need to form a solid argument) early, don’t half-ass a legal matter. 2. Letting an issue die on its own only gives the other side time to hit you by surprise; strike now while the iron is hot.

I wholeheartedly agree with pursuing legal action in this case. It’s easily considered some form of harassment, or as you said, much worse if a child opened the letter first.

I don’t enjoy sending law firms cash, but if you play it right you won’t pay a dime.

      • I’ve learned the trick to a good defense in a civil matter is to hire a lawyer even YOU don’t like.

Then, if Ralph’s not available, go for second best. 🙂

      • ” …but then I was sued for a civil matter involving my safe and appropriate use of firearms on my high-acreage property out in west Texas.”

This sounds like a tactic we heard about here a short while back about those ‘pro bono’ lawyers banding together and attacking the 2A via legal harassment.

We oughtta set up something like that on our side with volunteer ‘pro bono’ lawyers of our own to defend against such cowardly attacks…

        • We should also be able to sue any and all politicians who act to deny or infringe the rights (any rights) of American citizens! In California, that would include, the gov, lt gov, atty gen, and just over half the state legislature.

  3. Appalling garbage from an appalling group. But given the opportunity they would make sure that ALL gun owners meet the same fate. They are anti-gun for civilians, but pro-gun statists. That is why they admire dictators and others who promote gun prohibitions.

    • Try some ballistic therapy. Nothing like the smell of a few busted primers and well-places holes in your targets to clear the head. By the time you run the first cleaning patch down the bore after your therapy session you’ll feel as right as rain.

  4. If only there was some portable, easy to use device these people could have been carrying with them that they could have used to fight back.

  5. The card quotes scripture and references Jesus Christ.

Anyone want to take bets on when was the last time any of the senders saw the inside of a house of worship?

    • You might be surprised … there is a non-trivial number of practicing Christians who believe that all violence is wrong and thus profess to be pacifists.

Unfortunately, even some practicing Christians let their emotions get the best of them. As you might be able to guess, I am in a protracted, months-long debate with one such Christian about righteous use of force in defense of life.

  6. What about the people who jumped off bridges or hung themselves. Did bridge manufacturers and rope companies get a card also?

  7. They’ll never catch on…… Jesus wants us to be able to defend ourselves with weapons (see Luke 22:36):
36 “But now,” he said, “take your money and a traveler’s bag. And if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one!

They just twist everything to fit their agenda. It’s not the weapon’s fault; the fault lies with the twisted individuals seeking to harm themselves or others.

    • Is RF Jewish only by birth or is he a practicing Christ killer? The answer would affect his reaction.

I imagine in the former circumstance it would elicit a chuckle at the irony. In the latter instance I would imagine it would be full on laughter.

Sorry, hope that doesn’t constitute a flame to be deleted. I kid my Jewish friends, it’s just that with a Christmas card the term fits so damn well.

      • That’s what I’m saying, whether he’s practicing or not…I’d probably be thinking, “I don’t give a fvck what Jesus thinks”.

        • Actually Swilson, I do care. Even as a Conservative Jew the truth is the truth! I do not believe that Christ is the Messiah, but his wisdom can still be used for good as is Sun Tsu, Myamoto Musashi, et al.
If these pictures are supposed to raise my ire, they’re daft. I’ve seen worse on the battlefield.

  8. Receiving a card like that would serve as a reminder of the evil that exists in this world and provide a strong incentive to buy more guns and ammo.

      • That’s what I was getting at. I should have been more clear. The sort of person who sends this garbage is not only evil, but far enough removed from rational thought that they should be considered a danger to society.

        • Could be considered a threat.

This is the biggest problem for them. People see pictures like these or hear about a heinous act of violence and 2/3 of them think, ‘maybe I should get a gun to protect myself’ while 1/3 think, ‘maybe the gubmint should do something’. Their best strategy would be to try and convince us we don’t need our guns but they’re too blind to see that.

  9. I always find this sort of thing amusing, especially when they add in the religious stuff. I can just see them brainstorming this sort of shit

“Well, every gun owner is a fat white guy bitterly clinging to their AR rifle and their Bible. I’m sure there’s an angle there… damned if I can think of one though. How ’bout you Jim?”

“Um… Christmas card maybe? Ones with graphic pictures and Bible quotes taken out of context… so that we can suggest that Jesus doesn’t approve of self defense and that all gun owners are crazy assholes who love killing innocent people or at least inflicting grievous wounds on them?”

“That’s goddamn brilliant Jim! Maybe we can work in something about how they drown puppies too. Here, have a scotch.”

“Scotch? Bob, it’s not even nine in the morning. How about a raise instead?”

“Fight for 15 Jim. Fight for 15.”

Maybe I’ll send car dealerships a card this year… would make about as much sense. [Graphic, NSFW, NSFWS]

  10. My reaction to the photographs: Good people need guns to stop would-be murderers before they do that to their intended victims.

  11. Why even give these people the attention. It’s what they want. Throw the cards in the trash and move on. Just my two cents.

    • Find their address and let some other people give them a serious headache…

      https://www.ruindays.com/

The Butt Hurt Care Package and the spring loaded glitter bomb are my favorites. Personally, I’d go with the glitter bomb in this case. That shit is impossible to really clean up. If it’s in your keyboard just give up and buy a new one.

  12. The answer to these ignorant, vicious, propagandists is found in my book, “A Time To Kill: The Myth of Christian Pacifism”, by Greg Hopkins. Available on Amazon Prime for $14.25.
Dean Weingarten reviewed it forTTAG on Nov. 13. It concludes that God commands us to defend the innocent with all legal force. It demonstrates that Jesus never taught pacifism. Rather, He endorsed defense of home and family with weapons, as the entire Bible does. Jesus never told anyone to quit the army, either. He knows the difference between murder and killing in combat, law enforcement, and self defense. ATTK also deals with the Bible and the death penalty as well.
Written by a lawyer with 25 years experience in criminal law who has taught the Bible to adults for 40 years, ATTK has been endorsed by Massad Ayoob, Larry Pratt, and many others.
It has the answers you need to show your pacifist rabbi or preacher the truth about what the Bible says about defense of self and others.

    • I was raised by two parents who were born on Texas farms in the early 1930’s and who were both Protestant Christians their whole lives. Believe me, I was never instructed in biblical pacifism. I was also raised around lots of guns. The love for firearms stayed with me to this day, the religious part….not so much, heh heh.
Still, because of my parental conditioning the idea of Christian pacifism strikes me as totally weird.
Speaking of Larry Pratt, I am a current member of GOA and also had the pleasure of meeting him in the early 1990’s at a pro-gun rally in Dallas when I was a member of North Texas Arms Rights Coalition. We were at an outdoor demonstration in down town advocating for the passage of a state CHL during “governor wrinkles” ( i.e., Anne Richards ) term. Those were some good times.

  13. What’s also stupid about this is that Betsy Riot is making the same mistake pro-gunners often make. They are targeting the opposition. Do they think they will change Colion Noir’s opinion one iota based on a Christmas card? It’s as useless as sending a pro-gun card to Shannon Watts.

If you want to change your support base, you don’t target the opposition, you target the undecideds.

    • A$$ho!s tend not to concern themselves with the goal of the mission. They care not about affecting real change. They simply enjoy being a$$ho!es. Their own mission statement says as much.

        • You have obviously talked to enough antis to realize the level of their violent insanities. Just remember that, while their imaginations might well light up with glee at the idea of torturing and killing helpless victims that they choose to dislike, they are generally too cowardly to be a real threat, and even the few that might not be are far too inane and silly to fear.
Like the gangbanger who loaded the cartridges into his magazine backwards(6 months or so back…) and then wondered why his firearm wouldn’t function! This is the mental level these people are on. I have a very difficult time taking them as a serious threat. The biggest danger they represent, is they might breathe their nasty STDs on me at a party if I’m not careful.

  14. It’s a good thing car crashes, swords, knives, hammers, and chainsaws are never involved in hideous injuries. If they were, that’d be the NRA’s fault too, right?

  15. Has anyone else gone to these idiot’s website or facebook page?

They say they’re a “We are a decentralized, neo-suffragist punk-patriot resistance defending America against Trump’s gun culture with rage and wit.”</i. but as far as I can tell all they do is sticker bomb places (and things they don't like) and write nasty messages in various ways.

  16. I’m actually jealous that I didn’t get a card. I would consider it a badge of honor. Makes me so warm and fuzzy inside I committed to a NRA Life membership.

  17. What cold north said^…pretty sure the GOD of theold testament endorsed righteous killing. AND JESUS is also the oldtestament GOD. Besides-this scum wants a fight they’ll get one…where’d they get the names? You think the NRA doesn’t sell info??

  18. I don’t get this group. They’re even dumber than the typical anti gun group. Their format is “Instead of arguing against the NRA, we’re just going to bully them.” come on. That’s dumb.

  19. As to obtaining addresses, I’ve found people before simply by searching public records on line for their name. Here in WA, most counties make public records available online on their website, you just type in the person’s name and you can find marriage certificates, tax filings for home purchases, etc. If you know someone’s general location, in RF’s case Austin, TX (it’s all over this blog), you can probably go search country records and find an address. Might take 2-3 counties.

    • Yeah. There are websites like peoplefinder.com too and others where you can pay to find someone. Some even have a biography for people. I’ve found people I know on the internet and found surprisingly accurate information on them…. You don’t really have any privacy in the modern world.

  20. Betsy Riot, I was a firearms enthusiast prior to Trump’s candidacy.

I did not vote for Trump. I did not support Trump. I voted for freedom and peace, although not Peace and Freedom. I’m neither racist nor a shitbag. I have more LGBT friends than non-LGBT friends. My wife and I are equals. And yet…

People kill themselves every day. People, and governments, kill others every day. Blaming the tool is idiotic.

Want to fix the problem? Understand the problem first. Instead, once again you’ve become so progressive that you’ve regressed. You think name-calling and vandalism are new? Pompeiians left behind crass graffiti- you’re nearly two millenia too late on that front. There’s more to a proper argument than Sex Pistols fonts and four-letter-words. There’s more to a proper argument than emotion.

What kills freedom is prohibiting a person from owning something.
    Webster’s: Freedom:
    1. the quality or state of being free: as
a: the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action

Fascists in old-school dresses with bundles of stickers, all of you.

  21. Finding home addresses isn’t hideously difficult in most cases. Domain registries, etc. Even if you privacy-mask your domains, it’s possible to do historical checking and get the real data before the privacy mask was applied.

Barring that, it’s not inconceivable that these guys get their info from “people on the inside…” – someone may have a friend at GoDaddy…

    • God gave us free will. We can love him and keep his commandments, or not. Next thing you know, Eve grabs an apple and it’s been a bumpy ride ever since.

    • We won’t win by descending to their sophomoric maturity level.

Their faceplant page reveals all their vile hatred for the world to see. So let the world see it.

  22. Just caught the end of Dana Loesch’s show on the Blaze and she got one. Her elementary school age son opened it. He asked, ‘They know where we live now?’. Turns out the ‘victims’ of ‘gun violence’ aren’t even American, one is from India and the other Ireland. One of them is likely not even a gunshot wound. Anyway, she hinted that they knew or were close to discovering who the individuals responsible are and that sending threats by USPS is a federal felony, and that legal action may be on the horizon.

    • Most certainly some form of “criminal harassment , wire fraud, etc…” Time to set up a “Go Fund Me ” page for legal action agaist the political organization, or organizations….

  23. These people are unhinged. If they didn’t think they were “above” guns, they’d be shooting us in the face themselves. Gotta love those peaceful progressives.

  24. It’s almost 2017 and the internet is already bulging at it’s proverbial seams with high definition pics of every kind of horrible human death someone could point a camera at. I guess they think this stunt is cutting edge.

  25. Written by anonymous cowards. Unfortunately, Farago and Noir are easy, accessible targets. They’re not hiding like the fools who sent the cards. These people are full of themselves.

  26. If these are being dropped off in person…Then I could see that individual (perp) gargling a quart of pepper spray, or Mace !!! I would consider this a threat to my personal SAFETY!

  27. OK.
    Now we know about them.
Gun people are at risk of getting one.
    Best option?
    Shred it. Say nothing.
    NOTHING.
When no visible reaction is shown, the enemy can only speculate. By brandishing this idiocy, you give the
people who sent it media attention. Good or bad attention doesn’t matter.
“You don’t read your reviews, you weigh them.”
Let this hate mail trick fade into oblivion QUICKLY, before it makes national news, and more SJW join them.

  28. WE should be co-opting THOSE images and placing THEM on signs outside OUR homes warning Trespassers, Burglars, Rapists, Murderers and blood thirsty Moslems what awaits them if they dare f*** with us or our family members.

Make no mistake those “victims” are only “victims” of their own diminished mental health, they’re obviously “suicides”.

btw: I think I see what’s left of an “eye” in the mush on the right in the photo on right.

  29. These idiots are a piece of work. . . Apparently the post their micro vandalisms on everything from disposable diapers, to service station trash cans, to unrelated products in retail stores. Seems o be a bunch of bored SJW’s who have the idea that some one is really going to make a difference with vandalism.

They really are proud of themselves. . .

  30. Not good to get it, but I fight for their right to send it out if they want. If you fight for your views, then they should be able to fight for theirs. Isn’t this a “free” society???? Or is only one side always allowed to talk, while the others should remain silent?

Throw it in the trash, who cares?

  31. It’s a shame that the gospel of Christ is being used to push anti-gun propaganda. Jesus Christ hated all violence, not just that inflicted by firearms, which by the way didn’t even exist in His days on earth. . Even hateful speech is seriously looked down on in scripture. 1John 3:15 “Whosoever hates his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.”
1Corinthains 6:9-10 “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.” And you all want to pick on guns!

  32. so find and post the betsy riot members home addresses since their in such terror of the gun world ,i’m sure all gun owner’s would be more then happy to avoid the posted addresses ,or not……
