“Looking at a map of Virginia,” [Erich] Pratt and [Philip] Van Cleave wrote, “it becomes clear that only a few, geographically small, yet heavily populated, jurisdictions have declined to stand up against the current threats to the Virginia and United States Constitutions.”

In other words, the “heavily populated” parts of Virginia do not have the same view of gun rights as the sparsely populated parts. And since the Virginia legislature was duly elected by popular vote, legislators will likely be more responsive to the interests of the majority than of the minority.

America is a representative democracy. But the gun lobby and other parts of the conservative coalition are increasingly skeptical of that. Armed with an all-purpose Constitution that means whatever they want it to mean, they seek to block popular government action.

The Second Amendment sanctuaries emerging in Virginia and elsewhere may mark a burgeoning conservative counterculture. Contempt for the “geographically small, yet heavily populated” regions where most Americans reside is becoming a conservative tic. It’s the impetus behind those triumphal MAGA maps depicting countless hectares of American forest, farm and pasture in bold Republican red, while little enclaves such as Brooklyn, with a higher population than 15 states, are dismissed with a tiny blotch of blue.

Densely populated America, in other words, is not real America, and opposing real America is by definition unconstitutional. What the gun sanctuary movement is seeking is not protection from government overreach, but from democracy.

  1. Yes it is anti democratic. Its pro republic. The US is not a democracy, it is a republic. Not hard to understand unless you are a democrat.

      • Liberty is a well armed sheep contesting the vote, which is exactly what we have here. Make no mistake: leftism is fundamentally incompatible with the principles of our nation, so they want to destroy it. Nothing less.

      • Beat me to it. It reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode where a neighborhood was shut off from electricity. All the neighbors accused one family of being martians and proceeded to wreck their home and the neighborhood. Democracy in action.

      • 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨 𝙄𝙎 𝙉𝙊𝙏 𝘼 𝘿𝙀𝙈𝙊𝘾𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙔. It is a Republic, and a Constitutional (Read: Bill of Rights) Republic at that.

Calling it a Democracy is the lefts biggest lie, which for a group whose sole fixed value is to control others, a lie of Machiavellian proportions.

The Truth is our founding fathers abhorred a Democracy calling it the Tyranny of The Majority. They codified the Bill Of Rights to protect everyone’s rights, but especially the right of the minorities from…wait for it…Democracy.

But of course in a Tyranny we will force people to comply, which is very Leftist, and now that the left controls 50% plus 1 vote, how very Democratic.

        • Must be why Pelosi and company just held a Euro-style vote of no-confidence (she calls it impeachment) in a futile attempt to remove the POTUS from office… I guess they long for the good old days of King George and British Parliament.. Or they napped through American History and Civics classes throughout their school years.. They also must not understand no-confidence VS. impeachment.. no-confidence votes trigger a new election, but impeachment provides for a line of succession and any aspirations of an ambitious Speaker of the House would be impeded by a V.P. ascending to POTUS and appointing his own V.P. whom would then become next in line ALA Gerald Ford appointed by Nixon, after Agnews resignation, and confirmed by both houses under the 25th amendment, who became POTUS after Nixon resigned when faced with his own impeachment….. Sorry Nancy, the only way you get the seat in the Oval is by some well placed explosives or a couple of expert snipers with high power rifles working in unison to get POTUS and V.P. simultaneously …

    • Exactly. Yes, the sanctuary movement is anti-democratic…just like the Bill of Rights is anti democratic. That’s how it’s supposed to work. I hate it when people refer to the U.S. as “our democracy”. Democracy is mob rule. Frequently, the mob is wrong.

      • I remember a banner that was in a lot of classrooms when I was young that said:
“What’s right is not often popular and what is popular is not often right”
        Seems to ring pretty true.

      • Democracy became the golden calf of progressives. Their thinking: “We have the majority, now we can do whatever we want and you will be sorry you have ever opposed us!”

        • And, it logically follows, that’s why they hate guns in the hands of the little peeps.

The new agenda for humanity requires that no one will have the capacity to fight back. It has been said: “Our Task of creating a Socialist America can only succeed when those who would resist us have been totally disarmed.” No other explanation is possible.
History has repeatedly demonstrated that disarming good people in the name of making bad people harmless only eventually facilitates politicians shooting their own countrymen. History…learn from it or be doomed to relive it.

    • America is absolutely a Democracy.

“Democracy” It is a general term describing all forms of government where The People hold the power and decide issues. From that general description come many different forms of Democracy, such as our Constitutional Republic, which is a Representative form of Democracy having foundational laws designed to prevent a Tyranny of the Majority from stomping upon those without the power.

It’s basic Civics, as taught in American schools long, long, long, long ago.

      • “I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

I never pledged allegiance to the democracy for which it stands.

        • Yeah, you did and you do.

That a Republic is a very specific form of the very general concept of rule by The People is something that used to be taught in schools. So that young Americans would understand the reasons we do not personally vote on every single little issue and question of the day. And more than that, to understand why and how our system protects us from that Tyranny of the Majority.

      • Look it’s the Motte and Bailey show.

“Democracy” meaning 50% plus one vote, one time, can do anydamnthing. Then back off when challenged to “Representative Republic is within the *general*, casual meaning of ‘democracy..'” Then when they’re not looking advance back to the technical meaning of “democracy”, broadly interpreted as *unlimited* and *direct.* Wash, rinse, repeat.

But, let’s go casual. Casually, the notion of “democracy” does not include absent “majorities” making criminals of distant others. A remote, Capitol City crippling the provinces is, casually, not “democracy.” Overlords, imposing restrictions on a lifestyle not their own is not “democracy”, speaking casually, of course. And buying enough influence, n remote funding campaigns where you don’t live, to impose your rules on people you will never meet is … not “democracy”, casually understood.

So, no, the United States is not a “democracy”, formally as chartered, or casually as the way we choose to govern ourselves is understood. Autonomous folks agreeing among themselves to enough consistent rules that they can live together, each their own way … is “democracy”, casually understood.

Motte and Bailey. (Cloward n Piven back together tour is opening.) These clowns are here all week. Try the veal.

    • Exactly. It’s not supposed to be “democratic.” The process of repealing the 2A isn’t “democratic.” The application and enumeration of the 2A isn’t “democratic.” Nothing about it is democratic. And our rights weren’t intended to be easily removed from us with “democracy.”

  2. This ignorant fool thinks we’re a democracy. That’s the root of the problem. The left thinks the majority gets to trample the rights of the minority. News flash, they don’t.

    • An expected product of our publik skools.

Remember that Hillary was pushing the same mantra both before and after her 2016 loss. Those who clamor for removal of the Electoral College play the “one man, one vote” tune at loudest volume. They rely upon low information voters who don’t look into the facts for themselves.

True story…last week I happened upon two volunteers who were soliciting signatures for our Recall Governor Newsom campaign. As we chatted and I signed the petition, one of them mentioned that earlier that day a young lady declined to sign, saying “Why would you want to recall Newsom? He’s the most handsome Governor we’ve ever had!”

      Low information voters, indeed.

      • “They rely upon low information voters who don’t look into the facts for themselves.”

Why else would they want to lower the voting age while simultaneously raising the minimum age for everything else? In what logical world does that make sense?

        • If they want to lower the voting age, then make that the same age to carry a concealed handgun.

Both are serious, adult responsibilities that potentially carry grave consequences, aren’t they?

          *snicker*… 😉

        • One is a very serious business that should not be taken lightly or allowed to every fool as it can cost many people’s lives if mishandled. The other is gun ownership.

    • I’m shocked by the number of college professors I work with who need to have it explained that Senators represent their STATES, not the people. I’m shocked how much effort it takes to explain that when we switched to electing senators by popular vote, we deeply undermined an important element of the constitutional system. I’m shocked by how many people don’t understand how the electoral college protects small states and their interests in national elections.

I’m shocked by a lot of ignorance, except… no, sadly, I’m not really.

      • But do you think most of them are really ignorant? They seem to understand the Constitution plenty well enough to understand that it is standing between them and their totalitarian wet dreams.

      • napresto,

No, that’s incorrect. Senators originally represented the States as a balance against the Federal Gov’t, but the ratification of the 17th Amendment in 1913 changed the Senate’s makeup and converted the offices from election by State governments to direct election by public voters.

What you said was true long ago, but hasn’t been true for more than 100 years now. Facts matter, especially when we’re trying to educate the masses.

        • Alright, now I KNOW something’s wonky at TTAG. I just posted another follow-up to my comment above (a clarification), and the comment disappeared again immediately after being posted. This happens about once a week, with no apparent reason.

There were no URL links and no HTML tags. I’m in the same open browser on the same device, at the same IP address. TTAG’s site has gremlins, and they’re getting frustrating. Can’t count how many times this has happened over the past several months. I now see errors two or three times per week.

        • My phone is fucked up too, logged on to TTAG one day and all of a sudden after hitting comment enter I got booted off the net and everyone I tried to log back got browser not working. I figured TTAG bosses got tired of my sht and was FcknOldRe with me. Now I think it’s the eff bee eye? As soon as I hit enter I ll probably get booted off, again then have to clear history to get back on..

        • @I Haz… In my original comment I pointed out that changing to direct election of senators happened and was a mistake, so you are correct (but I don’t think I was wrong). We could probably debate about whether a modern senator is still fundamentally supposed to represent their state, or whether the change to popular election now makes them de facto super representatives, and their are pros and cons to both ways if looking at it… but I have to go deal with Vlad now because he JUST. WON’T. SHUT. UP.

          Damn kids.

        • @napresto,

Yes, I realized what you meant after I re-read your comment a second time. That was the subject of my follow-up comment (a correction/clarification) that TTAG removed and sent to a black hole somewhere.

      • To Napresto

You can bullshit us all you want but you support such obscenities as the Electoral College because you know damn well the Republican party would cease to exist without such corruption which enslaves the majority of the population and exploits them by bankrupting them for the blind greed of the minority who only stay in power because of the corrupt Electoral College which was invented to prevent slavery from being outlawed which at the time was the will of the majority of most decent American citizens. The Electoral College was born out of the evils and blind greed of slavery and it still exists for that very same purpose. You fool no one. It is people like you that are cancerous sore on the majorities rights and our society.

        • Vlad, I feel like you might have skipped your meds today, buddy. You doing okay? Don’t worry, I checked your closet, and the electoral college isn’t in there right now.

It’s under your bed, waiting to eat you later tonight.

        • Once again you are lying, vlad. The left are supported by the filthy rich. soros, bloomberg, hollywood. And they want to do away with individual rights such as abolishing the electoral college.

Tyranny of the majority. Your inner nazi is shining through.

        • Good Lord Vlad, do you actually listen to yourself or read what you write? I have to believe you are a right winger yourself, just trying to get everyone whipped up. If that’s the case, I tip my hat to you. If not, then I am sorry you are as miserable and uninformed as you are.

        • Just as the EU is a group of countries that have treaties(like a commonwealth), the US was a group of states. Before the Civil War, most people in the U.S. identified as a state citizen, not a citizen of the U.S.
Our country is a republic and has representatives that vote for the state’s needs. Always has been and should always be.

        • Hey Vlad, you do know that the Democratic Party would cease to exist if they could not cheat during elections?
ANY political party over 100 years should be disbanded and its’ leadership arrested for corruption.

        • “Trump adviser and corporate raider Carl Icahn (net worth $16.6 billion) is said to have been a model for Michael Douglas’s “Greed is good” character in Wall Street. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross ($2.5 billion), policy adviser Stephen Schwarzman ($11.8 billion) and unofficial intel adviser Stephen Feinberg ($1.2 billion) all made their fortunes in the kind of investment banking that came into vogue after Wall Street decreed that social responsibility and business—the Jimmy Stewart banker model—were antithetical.

The New York real estate developers now advising the president—Steven Roth (net worth $1.1 billion) and Richard LeFrak ($6.5 billion)—spent their professional lives (as did Trump) in a mosh pit with politicians, city regulators, 50-story crane operators, cement mobsters and the motley crew of characters, unsavory and otherwise, responsible for the New York skyline and the surrounding area’s malls, golf courses and housing developments.”

    • The doofus’ entire argument disappears when we remember that he’s describing PRECISELY why we have a Constitution which prohibits those mouth breathers from saying anything whatsoever about firearms, and which is all the justification we will ever need to completely ignore such orders, and to shoot back if they attempt to force us.

  3. We see this becoming a serious issue for ANY gun owner in every state. It starts with the actual gun and then it slowly works its way to NRA Membership and then to what you search for/visit online. Your Internet provider can now legally sell/share your browsing without your consent. If you’re going to look for (or read) anything gun related, do not use your regular browser. We highlighted why gun owners need to be alert here:
    https://www.tracefree.com/news/why-gun-owners-should-be-very-afraid/

    • Pay the annual fee by check only, and please send a photo of it to your staff for processing? No VISA, ACH, Paypal, etc.?

No thanks. Your site all by itself is a bit sketchy.

      • They take money orders, so it’s not quite *that* bad. And isn’t paypal traceable, as well?

        • I don’t care if the payment for a VPN is traceable (if anyone really cared). What I care about is whether my browser activities are being monitored. Not that I go to any wonky or scandalous sites (not since I grew up), but it’s still my privacy.

  4. How exactly is the widespread expression of a popular belief “undemocratic”. While the U.S. is indeed not a direct democracy, and has formalized the concept of minority rights via a constitutional republic, democracy itself as a concept doesn’t necessarily imply the complete elimination of minority rights or even minority opinions.

    • When the minority is a protected class.
The trans people can now go into your women/girls bathrooms and showers. Where’s the “majority rules” on that one?

  5. “Armed with an all-purpose Constitution that means whatever they want it to mean, they seek to block popular government action.”

It means what it means, it’s not all purpose nor is it rocket science to understand. If you think it is incorrect are too ambiguous, there is a clear method in place to modify or amend it. You simply use the concept of democracy to elect a majority of supportive representatives and prove to me it’s a “popular government action.”

Sometimes I find COTUS inconvenient, like when it gives you the right to open your stupid yapper and spill out nonsense.

  6. I don’t know how someone can write the phrase “they seek to block popular government action” and not be horrified at the idea that the government action SHOULD be based on popularity.

When they’re in the minority, it’s all about “tyranny of the majority” and “mob rule”, even as they’re passing laws making it a crime to misgender someone in the 0.01% of the population that thinks being called “Sir” when you identify as a “Ma’am” is violence on the level that the government (at least the CA government so far) needs to be involved.

But when they *THINK* they’re in the majority, then it’s a straight up popularity contest and their 51% of people living in 5% of the geographic area constitutes True Democratic Consensus ™. Conveniently, everyone who disagrees with them is not part of the 49% of people in 95% of the geography participating in the system of representative democracy – no – they’re ANTI-DEMOCRATIC.

You can’t disagree without being the WORST PIECE OF HUMAN OFFAL EVAR.

  7. LOL…some communications major thinks public policy in a representative republic that directly affects something spelled out in the bill of rights should be the equivalent of everyone in the classroom raising their hand if they want a pizza party or an ice cream party. OH WELL, THE PIZZAS HAVE IT, GAME OVER.

    Tool.

    • Mike – don’t forget in your scenario that when the ‘majority’ votes for pizza (BTW who is paying for it?) they then get to decide what kind of pizza it will be and you WILL like it – or else.

  8. Contempt for the “geographically small, yet heavily populated” regions where most Americans reside is becoming a conservative tic.

No, it is the other way around: geographically small and heavily populated regions have contempt for large, less densely populated regions.

Densely populated America, in other words, is not real America, and opposing real America is by definition unconstitutional. What the gun sanctuary movement is seeking is not protection from government overreach, but from democracy.

When democracy (50% + 1 of the population) endeavors to violate the Natural, God-given inalienable rights of a minority (50% – 1 of the population), seeking any means of protection is righteous and honorable.

The problem IS NOT a minority seeking to protect and preserve their Natural, God-given inalienable rights. The problem IS a majority seeking to violate the Natural, God-given inalienable rights of a minority.

    • Look at it this way. Suppose a majority of the population supported and celebrated violent rape and supported laws which imprison any woman who resists violent rape. Would the minority of the population which is seeking protection of a woman’s Natural and God-given right to resist rape be a bad thing? According to Francis Wilkinson, that would be a bad thing and somehow “unconstitutional”.

      • Or consider abortion. If the majority supports murdering our society’s most innocent among us, and for reasons of mere financial or career inconvenience, does that mean it’s okay to kill those innocent human beings?

        • You so called righteous people never put your money where your mouth is and adopt unwanted children because most unwanted children are not the right race for you to adopt,
and even if they were your to cheap to adopt that is fact. Its all just another hypocrisy and blasphemy of your own religion.

And to add further hypocrisy to your own religion you refuse to fund orphanages, adoption agencies, and planned parenthood where 95 per cent of their business is birth control so unwanted births do not take place.

Yes the Far Right really turns the stomach of people who can think logically.

        • Or consider, if we provide the government the power to rule over an individual’s choice to abort or not, then we have given that government the power to force an individual to abort. That would be a serious decision to make, given that we live in an overpopulated world.

        • And boogaloo, I do not see a case where Vlad used “your” when he should have used “you’re”. Could you point that out?

        • HAHA, Vlad, you’re such an ignoramus. We have so many adopted children in my extended family, just one of my cousins *alone* adopted four.

If there was any doubt that you might be worth listening to, you just blew it. You have absolutely no clue whatsoever to anything…guns, government, adoption…nothing.

Trolls gotta troll, and you’re just a tiny little Russkie troll. Good for a little entertainment now and then, but that’s all.

        • Vlad Tepes,

You so called righteous people never put your money where your mouth is and adopt unwanted children because most unwanted children are not the right race for you to adopt, and even if they were your to cheap to adopt that is fact.

No, that is NOT fact. My spouse and I spent on the order of $16,000 (and pushed back our retirement at least one year) to adopt a child of another race from another continent. In my small church (average Sunday attendance about 60 families) four of us have adopted children of other races. That is about one in 15 families in our church who have adopted children of other races. And there are additional families who adopted children of the same race.

If you actually went to a church where they have real faith, you would see it.

        • “””””””””””””””””””””And boogaloo, I do not see a case where Vlad used “your” when he should have used “you’re”. Could you point that out?++++++++++++++++

I think that Boogaloo wanted to prove he was the real Moron. He did a good job of that.

        • Larry in TX,

Vlad Tepes’ error is here in bold, “… and even if they were your to cheap to adopt that is fact.”

And Vlad also typed, “to,” rather than, “too.”

He/she should have typed, “… and even if they were your to you’re too cheap to adopt that is fact.”

He/she also omitted one or two commas as well. I won’t bother to show where.

        • to Uncommon Sense

I made a generalization not a personal attack on just you. The generalization I made is correct as the majority of right wing people I know personally fit my example to a tee.

I do have one question though. Why with so many unwanted American children that need adopted did you adopt a foreign child as well as other members of your congregation. Not that I am against that I think its admirable you did but usually the Far Right hate foreign people. But again I make a generalization based on the far right people I know in my community perhaps your community is quite different.

        • Larry in TX,

… if we provide the government the power to rule over an individual’s choice to abort or not, then we have given that government the power to force an individual to abort.

Government must never have the power to force an abortion for the very same reason that a mother must never have the power to abort her child: it is murder of a human life, period.

If a parent facilitates the death of their child through indifference, that is a serious crime (felony child neglect and/or felony negligent homicide). If a parent kills their child because he/she does not want the child, that is a serious crime (felony murder). The child’s development, size, autonomy, consciousness, awareness, location, and environment, and value to the parents (e.g. whether or not the parents want the child) are irrelevant. In other words it doesn’t matter whether the child is in the womb or not, whether the mother wants the child or not.

The time for a woman to exercise free-will and choice is before she has sex, not after she becomes pregnant as a result of her choice to have sex. We are responsible for our choices, are we not?

        • To Uncommon sense.

Your a real pompous asshole. Since you could not think of any rebuttal to the meat of the argument you in your desperation nit pick when in my haste I do not proof read mainly because I often do not have the time. Of course someone grasping at straws to ease his own subconscious doubts is desperate to find anything to strike back at his opponent. I only respect people who come back with a rebuttal that is inline with the subject. Not a rebuttal done out of hysteria. Your a real trip and and you give me a good laugh. Grow up and quit acting like a kid in a school yard.

        • @Vlad it’s possible to be against abortion and not want kids at the same time. I’m against abortion but I don’t want kids because they’re annoying and would get in the way of my bachelor lifestyle. Doesn’t mean I want them dead.

        • I made a generalization not a personal attack on just you. The generalization I made is correct as the majority of right wing people I know personally fit my example to a tee.

This is alsio true for the overwhelming majority of left wing people.

This is also true for the overwhelming majority of white people.

This is true for the overwhelming majority of black people.

        • Vlad Tepes,

I know a LOT of conservative people and they most assuredly do NOT despise other races.

Anyhow, to answer your question, “Why with so many unwanted American children that need adopted did you adopt a foreign child as well as other members of your congregation.”

That is an excellent question. There are huge legal and financial risks to domestic adoption.

The primary legal risk: at a future date, one or both biological parents sue for custody of their biological child. This has happened more than once and the biological parents have sometimes won their cases. My family does not have the financial resources to fight such a legal case. So we opted for international adoption where there is zero risk of biological parents from another continent suing for custody.

The primary financial risk: pregnant mothers can and often due demand significant financial “incentives” before they commit their unborn child to you. This often includes living expenses, pre-natal health care visits, and finally labor/delivery expenses at the hospital. That can easily hit well over $30,000 in addition to the legal expenses of facilitating the adoption. And the really nasty part: the mother can change her mind at any time and the adoptive parents have ZERO recourse to recover any money up to that point. In other words a pregnant woman can play the system to get free living expenses and free healthcare without any true intention of ever relinquishing her child.

Furthermore, the financial “incentive” environment has giant ethical problems — it basically means babies are for sale, often to the “highest bidder”.

For those three reasons, we adopted from another nation. And while is possible that the host nation paid women cash to get pregnant and relinquish their child, it does not happen in the open.

        • Vlad,

I am not a pompous @$$hole. I did not point to your spelling, grammar, and/or punctuation errors of my volition. I was merely answering the question that Larry in TX asked.

And, if you calm down for a moment and look again, you will see that I did respond to the meat of your comments without directing personal attacks against you.

In fact if you look at all of my recent responses to your comments, I often confirm your statements when I believe they are factually correct. And I often show where I believe your statements are factually incorrect.

        • “This is alsio true for the overwhelming majority of left wing people.

This is also true for the overwhelming majority of white people.

This is true for the overwhelming majority of black people.”

          Prejudice

        • @uncommon,

Ignore Vlad. We all know he doesn’t care or want to truly debate. His only purpose is to stir up the pot for attention, and he’s getting plenty of it.

Between you and me, kudos to you for your decision to adopt. It’s expensive, it’s arduous, it’s legally exhausting, and it’s time-consuming. But when you bring that needy child into your home, all that fades away, and you realize that it was totally worth it.

Maybe Vlad grew up in an orphanage and was never adopted by anyone, and “aged out” to grow up embittered, leading to his desire to call people names and argue constantly.

        • I Haz a Question,

My spouse and I have zero regrets adopting our child who has greatly enriched our family and brought a light-heartedness and frequent laughter to our family that we would not otherwise experience.

The financial expenditure, process, lead-up, and trip was not the challenging part. The ginormous challenge was overcoming the effects of 7 months of neglect in the orphanage that resulted in an “anxious attachment” to our family. It took three years of psychotherapy (which was surprisingly accurate and helpful) and almost two years of our adopted child sleeping between us in our bed to overcome the pro-longed effects of neglect and to heal to the point of a healthy attachment. I do not wish that on anyone.

In addition to the joy, comfort, and peace that I experience in our loving family with our adopted child, I am even more joyful knowing that I will face my Creator some day who will say to me (with respect to our decision to adopt and the great lengths we went through to love and care for our child), “Well done good and faithful servant.”

This is something that non-believers never seem to grasp: not everything that we do is for reward or gratification in this short life. Some things are for reward and gratification in eternity with our Creator.

        • “The generalization I made is correct as the majority of right wing people I know personally fit my example to a tee.”

“The majority of black people I know are in gangs. Therefore saying all black people are in gangs is correct. See how prejudice works Vlad?

        • “Not that I am against that I think its admirable you did but usually the Far Right hate foreign people.”

No, they don’t, ‘vlad’. You’ve swallowed that lie your Democrat masters have fed you.

Proof? Saw a recent survey, where they asked conservatives if they would have a problem if their child married a democrat, and they asked democrats if they have a problem if their kid marries a conservative.

The results? Democrats have a bigger problem if their kid marries a conservative.

Meaning, Conservatives are more open-minded than Democrats. Conservatives are the ones who are open-minded and tolerant than others not like themselves.

Man, that’s gotta really piss off you Leftists… 😉

        • @ Slut Tepes
“Yes the Far Right really turns the stomach of people who can think logically.”

So, it’s okay to kill unborn kids, and it is our fault anyways for not wanting to adopt them, right? Now if you were a child, would you prefer to be not adopted or killed?
How would you know anything about what logically thinking people feel? Did they tell you?

      • A slim majority supports government raids in furtherance of deporting illegals.

The Left doesn’t think that the majority, in that case, gets to determine what happens to the minority.

The root cause of most of these problems is an underlying contempt for anyone who deviates from whatever the orthodox Lefty thought is on the topic at whatever moment it’s being discussed.

    • “””””””””””””””””””””””””””The problem IS NOT a minority seeking to protect and preserve their Natural, God-given inalienable rights. The problem IS a majority seeking to violate the Natural, God-given inalienable rights of a minority.++++++++++++++++

Going into prayer , ritual and incantations by the light of the moon will not save anyone’s rights because power comes from the jack booted thugs that rule and they control the military and the military control you or they get rid of you.

There has never been any rights that are “natural” or the product or guarantee of a mythical deity, that is a figment of your imagination. The only rights that are gained are by the fang and the claw. He who has the most power does what he pleases and that includes bankrupting you are eliminating you or using you for cannon fodder to enrich his own pockets. . You only exist at the pleasure of the people in power who comprise the government and who do not have to obey the rules they place on you and that has been reality since the dawn of civilization or what we claim is civilization.

The Power Elite rule and it is only they who have rights. You are only excrement under their feet and they will make no bones about that. That has been reality since the dawn of time.

In conclusion so called “God Given Rights” are fantasies believed in only by crazed religious fanatics that do not live in the world of reality and reality is rule by the fang and the claw. A world that if it was created by a conscious being was a being of pure evil as the mechanical operation of the world runs and is oiled and greased by the very existence of pure evil. The proof of all this is that the man who is the most ruthless, the most evil, the most greedy and the most intelligent gains all the money, sex and power and History has proven it over and over again.

      • Vlad Tepes,

You are intertwining too many topics.

I never claimed that our Natural, God-given rights will somehow (magically) protect themselves or that evil people never attempt to violate our rights. History makes it clear that evil people attempt to violate our rights and that it is up to us to defend our rights. Our nation’s Founders knew this and summarized it in the Second Amendment.

Of course the Ruling Class actively seeks to use, abuse, and exploit the Working Class. To what extent the Working Class can actively foil those attempts is anyone’s guess. At times, I imagine the Working Class does a spectacular job foiling the Ruling Class. At other times, I am sure the Ruling Class does a spectacular job using, abusing, and exploiting the Working Class.

Finally, God our Creator designed and built us with free-will and choice. Why? Because He deeply loves us, His created beings, and deeply wants us to love Him — which we cannot do if we do not have free-will and choice. God never wanted us to harm each other. Unfortunately, many people abuse that free-will and choice and indeed use it to harm others.

      • Vlad I tend to agree with you on everything except the Deity thing. I don’t think Gid gave. Humans any “”rights” to defend themselves but he did give them the smarts to do so. Or something did? There is some kind of Power out there that does shit. The truck wreck I had two years back proved that to me, hit tree, flipped truck, upside down in a river, cab smashed to the seats, I’m still here and it wasn’t luck

        • Well I hope you learned your lesson. Possums shouldn’t be driving trucks, although I’m getting a pretty funny visual. I mean what the heck?

        • Possum, I should have been killed a year ago when I was clobbered by that woman driver.

How I didn’t is a wonder to me to this day…

        • Come now, our highly educated, super smart and logical thinking Dracula made another grammar school level mistake? Like this one: “Your a real pompous asshole.”?
          Inconceivable!

  9. Democracy is the theory that the homeless drug addict should have just as much say in the government as a family man and business owner.

Democracy is the death of civilization.

    • The Greek Civilization has been perhaps the most admired of all civilizations and it was built on true democracy, pure democracy, something we have never had and we suffer because of it. Far from being the death of civilization true Democracy was the salvation of it.

        • Would you care to elaborate on your statement. I am going to enjoy tearing you apart on this one so be warned ahead of time.

Its obviously you never studied Greek history even 1 day during your back woods education.

      • Seems like the Greek culture completely disappeared for something like a thousand years, right? Is that the “lasting culture” you admire?

        • to Larry

”””””””””””””””””””””””””Seems like the Greek culture completely disappeared for something like a thousand years, right? Is that the “lasting culture” you admire?=============

Obviously you flunked World History. I am sure you do not know that you just shouted to the world your ignorance of Greek History (I will not even comment on Buggalo’s educational level, he has none)

The Greek miracle of Democracy influenced directly every democratic form of government that came into being since that time. Far from being extinct it started a revolution in Western Civilization apparent to all who have studied civilization down through history. Of course the Greeks would not be totally pleased with most Democratic Governments today as they would regard it as a corruption of what they originally created and I for one would be in agreement with them but I would say further that to never have had the Greeks would have been the greatest tragedy to befall all of mankind.

      • True democracy is fine when inferior vermin like you are chattel and not citizens. When every sub-human commie vermin is given a vote, democracy breaks down. You want “true democracy”? Restrict the franchise to people who own property and pay the majority of federal income taxes.

      • You just pointed to an example of what Dan W complained about. Not all Greeks were citizens eligible to vote. Shows how little you know about yet another subject, Drac.

        • to Someone The fool

Stay out of conversations on history, you only make a fool of yourself. Although I will admit that there was more than one Greek State such as the Spartans most scholars refer to the Athenians and Athens which was the true origin of Democracy not the Conservative Spartan State.

As far as your idiotic claim that no all citizen could vote when we are speaking of the Athenians yes indeed they could.

          The Assembly & Council
The word democracy (dēmokratia) derives from dēmos, which refers to the entire citizen body, and kratos, meaning rule. Any male citizen could, then, participate in the main democratic body of Athens, the assembly (ekklēsia). In the 4th and 5th centuries BCE the male citizen population of Athens ranged from 30,000 to 60,000 depending on the period. The assembly met at least once a month, more likely two or three times, on the Pnyx hill in a dedicated space which could accommodate around 6000 citizens. Any citizen could speak to the assembly and vote on decisions by simply holding up their hands. The majority won the day and the decision was final. Nine presidents (proedroi), elected by lot and holding the office one time only, organised the proceedings and assessed the voting.

      • Vlad, I studied ancient Greece — a minor in Classics — and my college education says you’re an ignorant, lying poseur. You can quote from Wikipedia all you want about the structure of Athenian democracy, but you clearly don’t understand the nature of it.

First, less than 30% of the city-state’s inhabitants were citizens. Women were not citizens. The foreign-born were not citizens. Only land-owning Athenian males were citizens.

Second, in many ways it really was mob rule. Piss off enough people, and you were done for. They’d either kill you (like Socrates) or ostracize you, to be killed on sight if you returned. (Fun fact: Our word “ostracize” comes from the Ostracon, which was a black pebble that indicated a vote for exile.)

And they *loooved* ostracizing people, because when they kicked you out, they got to keep all your stuff. The guy who funded and supervised the building of the Parthenon? Accused of corruption and ostracized. Get a bit too big for your britches, accumulate too much coin, make the wrong people jealous, and you were out. It was like high school cliques on steroids.

Athens’ democratic period didn’t last very long; two or three generations. Before and afterward, for several hundred years, they had tyrants. I’m stronger than the rest of you, so you do what I say and I take what I want; that’s the way it worked. (BTW, tyrant is a Greek word, too.)

America’s founders knew all of this and more, and they also knew Roman history. In contrast to the unstable Athenian democracy, the Roman republic was stable and functioned well for several hundred years, until Caesar did the emperor thing.

So the American founders very purposefully designed a constitutional republic along the lines of the Roman republic, with states taking the role of the hereditary Senate. Add the ability of each state’s citizens to elect a house of representatives, amend it with a Bill of Rights that includes special features to prevent tyrants and Caesars from taking over, and there we have it.

The European parliamentary system is just a riff on the American theme, made to fit countries full of peasants who had always been ruled by monarchs.

But there’s one final thing that’s going to ruin all of this for you, Vlad, even the Athenian democracy and your cherished European parliaments.

Every last one of these people — the ancient Greeks, the Romans, our Founding Fathers, the European parliamentarians — had to poop in outhouses. They were all Jethros, and therefore unworthy. So I guess all of this knowledge I’ve imparted is for naught, and we’ll have to rely on your finely cultivated genius to tell us all how we should live and be governed.

  10. The democraptastic majority may well have the votes…but votes don’t cancel rights. And Virginians are saying so in ever growing numbers. The state judiciary committee is doing it’s worst to imitate the congressional impeachment clown show from last year. It is breaking all of it’s own rules and promises rushing through unconstitutional suppression of individual rights bills as we speak. Trying for a floor vote before the end of the week? Before the 2A rally on Monday?

Go ahead, pass the fake laws. We will see you in court, We will NOT comply!

      • @Vlad,

Hairy appendage?? It’s alright to say cock…out loud too. You had a very oppressed childhood didn’t you. It’s ok to say the bad words. You aren’t still living at home are you?

      • “And the gun hating courts (mostly conservative by the way) …”

TTAG chimps, I’ll make a bet – In a few months. when the SCOTUS make clear that guns are here for everyone and not going away, that little vlad will be whole lot quieter…

  11. Didn’t Virginia Beach vote to become a Gun Sanctuary City? That’s the largest city in Virginia…maybe the article premise is incorrect?

    • Great point. Wilkinson didn’t bother mentioning that for some reason. I guess it would make it more difficult to fit her narrative. Incompetence or lying by omission? Neither is good for a journalist.

  12. The Article is spot on.

Democracy is majority rule and the Dems were elected on a platform of gun control. Even though the Supreme Court is now controlled by jack booted Nazi thugs they are and always have been rabidly anti-gun because guns are threats to their absolute power over the people.

The Corrupt Court who has traditionally paid little attention to the Constitution often either rules with public opinion or with what the legislature has passed so they can keep their jobs and not be impeached by the legislature. Whoever controls the courts also rules with their party and be damned the Constitution. The Courts ruing that made it legal to take away the rights of the poor to vote by upholding the legality of voter purging was one of the most outrageous and obscene partisan rulings the Supreme Conservative Corrupto’s ever ruled on. Even Vladimir Puting stated he thought the U.S. Courts had gotten away with something that would have caused riots in Russia but then again the average American Hill Jack is not intelligent enough to realize how seriously they all got fked by the courts.

Conservatives are basically die and the wool Nazi’s who believe in minority rule and suppression of voting rights and the elimination of freedom of speech.

Conservatives believe in taxing only the working man while letting the corrupt filthy rich live a tax free life and if that is not obscene enough they rule so that the rich actually receive tax money from the working poor to fatten their corrupt life style to new levels of obscenity. Its done with tax shelters, tax breaks and subsidies which is robbery of the welfare of the working class and they achieve this through the brainwashing of their ignorant , uneducated out house voting base by playing on their racism, bigotry and extreme xenophobia which inturn recruits plenty of back woods cannon fodder for their wars of rape, pillage and conquest.

The Dems know that 67% of the proletariat are not gun owners and do not understand why anyone but a back woods hill jack or a member of the paramilitary lunatic fringe would want to own one. The majority of the American people are now terrorized by mass shootings which often involve their own children and most would be only to happy to see all gun ownership totally eliminated which proves that the panic has actually reached that level of hysteria.

The year 2020 is going to be a disaster for gun owners and this latest Virginia political coup is only a harbinger of what is coming and coming in January of 2021. All one has to do is look at the Republican Governors, (never mind the Democratic ones), so far that have banned guns and high caps magazines to realize that the Fat Lady has already sung its just that the Far Right never attended the concert to hear it.

    • VLAD TEPES,

We have a Constitution that protects our rights. Including your rights. Our rights are not given to us by the Government, they are natural rights for all human beings separate from the Government.

It is not about what the majority wants. The majority can be deceived by advertising, false news reporting and an education system the teaches how bad our country is.

Whether you like someones right or not is not your choice to decide.

Maybe one day you will want firearms, but after these new laws are passed you won’t have YOUR RIGHT to bear them!

      • Of course you will. Passing laws in direct contradiction to the Constitution is a waste of time and energy, they do not alter your rights at all. You may have to insist on them, you may even have to fight for them, but they are still there.

      • The Constitution does not protect our rights. It only distinguishes between a legitimate and illegitimate governments.

    • “The Courts ruing that made it legal to take away the rights of the poor to vote by upholding the legality of voter purging”

Do you believe every left wing propaganda fed to you? In Ohio they purge a voter only after they haven’t voted in SIX years AND they have failed to respond to a notice from the state. Plenty of people only vote every four years, so waiting six is being pretty generous. What if the person died or moved away without notifying the state? Should they just keep a bunch of folks on the rolls that can’t legally vote? That is asking for trouble. There are multiple counties in CA that have more registered voters than they have registered citizens. Is that what you want? Of course it is.

      • Wrong as usual Dude.

In most civilized countries voting is automatic you do not have to beg or fight for it or be screwed out of voting by the Far Right, as it is your right to vote. Many civilized European countries have made it even easier to vote because they do it now not only by mail but now more than ever they do it on line so the maximum amount of people can exercise their right to vote. No fighting dangerous snow storms, no being forced to drive many miles to a voting place because Far Right Nazi’s closed their polls to make them drive the maximum distance to vote. Yes the Far Right Nazi’s know all the nefarious underhanded tricks to keep people from voting against them.

The real reason behind voter purging and closing polls in poor districts was done by the evil Gangster Criminal Republicans who have done everything possible to prevent people (who they know will vote democratic) from voting. They fool no one and its well known by anyone who has studied this outrageous obscenity against democracy.

Now even someone who is retarded knows very well Republicans damn well know they have the minority of voters voting for them and it is not any surprise that it is they that are behind such sinister and truly illegal acts.

Lets look past your Right Wing lies and deceptions and ignorance on the subject. There is no need ever to purge voter rolls , none. Whenever I have voted I had to show my drivers licence and in some States you need two methods of identification. The possibility of voter fraud is very slim and to have it happen by the thousands as Trump would have you believe simply has never happened in the history of the country. In other words it is far more devastating to democracy to prevent people from voting than it is to have those very few who cheated or voted twice and those people were registered to vote by the way that did that.

Yes the greatest threat to democracy has always been the Far Right Nazi’s and Hitler proved how fast the Far Right can turn a democratic nation into a dictatorship, something the Far Right in the U.S. lusts for and they openly admit that they do. They have stated they would do anything to appoint Trump for life.

        • “In most civilized countries voting is automatic”

There are people that are eligible to vote and those that aren’t eligible to vote. There are reasons to have a system in place that can differentiate between the two. If not, then people from outside of the district could come there to vote. The same applies for the country as a whole. Why wouldn’t other countries send people here to vote in our elections in order to help themselves?

      • For fuck’s sake, Huntmaster, will you at least have the common decency to fucking PERSONALIZE your troll attack?

“Troll” is LAME! Show some creativity. Insult him.

Is that too much to ask???

        • You’re talking about a guy who’s so stupid that he doesn’t realize that Athens lost the Peloponnesian War to Sparta, which was not a democracy, which in turn lost to Thebes (sponsored in part by Persia) or that Athens actually moved between democracy (which many believed was leading to the destruction of the city-state during the war), tyrants and a oligarchy multiple times during that war because democracy was so problematic for the city at that time.

Nor does he seem to realize that Athens used slaves extensively and, in fact, had the largest slave population of any city in Greece at the time. A major political upheaval near the end of the Peloponnesian War was due to the fact that slaves were offered citizenship after the battle of Arginusae. Metics? Fuck man, this idiot doesn’t even know what that means.

Athens was a city that excelled at certain things but found out the hard way that pure democracy simply doesn’t function. They were lucky that Sparta didn’t simply destroy the city. Interestingly it was the hardcore democrats that held out to the last at the end of the Peloponnesian War, notably at Samos. The Spartans again showed mercy and let them flee with their lives.

This has been my long-winded and historical way of pointing out that insulting Vlad serves no purpose. He’s too dense to understand the jabs.

        • to Stricknine

“””””””””””””””””””””””””Y,””””””””””””””””Athens was a city that excelled at certain things but found out the hard way that pure democracy simply doesn’t function.++++++++++++++

Several thousand years of Democracy prove what a fool you are.

See my above post in regards to Democracy and the Athenians and Spartans I just enjoyed making a fool of you as it is you who know nothing about Grecian Democracy.

Remember we were speaking of a political system not a history of warfare. In case you did not understand it you were changing the subject but then again an educated person would not have made such an asinine comparison.

        • Aaand cue Vlad, ostentatiously driving the stake into his own chest. This guy is a special kind of stupid.

Not worth responding to, except that commenting here is a spectator sport, and even though it *should* be obvious to the average onlooker that he’s a pusillanimous dimwit, it just doesn’t feel right to leave him on the field yelling at the clouds like he’s winning.

  13. Might is not always right!

That is why we had very smart people writing our Constitution.

Amazing how they foresaw what would happen.

  14. The entire purpose of the Constitution as written is to PREVENT democracy. The Constitution was explicitly described so by the Founders in their ancilary writings.
Why is this so hard to understand?!
Furthermore, all one has to do is read a few psych journals to KNOW that living in cities makes people crazy.
Then there’s actual history, where democracy let to democide, every.single.time.

    • “Then there’s actual history, where democracy let to democide, every.single.time.”

I’d be careful with an absolute statement like that. It could well be argued that “democide” wasn’t committed by the Athenian Democracy.

  15. The Virginia Democrats have been drunk on Bloomburg and Soros money for over two months now, it’s time for them to face the hangover, realize we still live in a Constitutional Republic and that “the enshrinement of constitutional rights necessarily takes certain policy choices off the table.”

    • Longer than that… most of the newly elected assembly people received the maximum donation from MDA, EGS and/or Bloomberg himself, in addition to the 2.6 million that MDA spent on advertising including a huge blitz the weekend before the election. Yes, Bloomberg basically bought himself a state assembly so of course they are beholden to him.

  16. “…will likely be more responsive to the interests of the majority than of the minority.”

    Hmm Sounds pretty racist.

“Armed with an all-purpose Constitution that means whatever they want it to mean”

That one’s hilarious coming from the abortion is a right (funded by taxpayers) group.

  17. Weird to invoke elected officials when it’s, ya know, elected officials declaring their counties to be second amendment sanctuaries.

  18. Some popular Democratic Government programs:
    1. Internment of American Citizens with Japanese ancestry.
    2. Jim Crow laws – can’t have those people walking around with guns.
    3. Segregation wouldn’t want them around our kids.

Now the Democratic Party has adopted proto communist ideals, what will be next?

  19. Individual rights are, by definition, undemocratic. It is these individual rights, not majority rule, that creates a free and open society, one where going about one’s personal life is not dependent at every turn on cobbling together a simple majority to approve each and every action.

  20. We are a Constitutional Republic with a Federal system of national government, which is in turn duplicated with some variations by the many States in their State constitutions and governments.

All that is a type of Democracy, which is a general time covering all systems where The People rule. There are many forms by which Democracy has been implemented around the world.

What is important to this topic is that our Constitutional Republic is designed to protect the Rights of the political minority. Our democratic processes may not be used by a Tyranny of the Majority to trample the Rights of the political Minority.

This is basic American Civics we all should have learned in school. Any political minority may stand upon the Constitution in defense of their rights enumerated within. To so stand is not anti-democratic, it is the very heart of America’s concept of Democracy..

    .

  21. This ignorant fool also thinks most of VA’s population is in its cities, picturing things are like where he lives and the population falls off as soon as you are out of the city… well, most of the Richmond metro area’s population is *outside* the city itself, in the surrounding counties, which basically resisted most of the city’s efforts at annexation until they actually had more population than the city. (e.g. Richmond City population 227k, Henrico County population 327k, Chesterfield County population 343k- both of those counties went ‘sanctuary’)

You’d think that someone writing for Bloomberg would know more about how the population in VA is distributed after their boss spent millions to buy the state assembly here….

  22. Yo, %&(*^##, we are a constitutional democratic republic, NOT a direct democracy, by which the founders intend in order to avoid a tyrannical majority and those opposed to the 2nd Amendment are anti-constitutional and a bit anti-American. The Constitution did grant the right to keep and bear arms, the right of self-defense is one of the unalienable rights referred to in the Declaration of Independence and you cannot interpret the Constitution without reference to the Declaration and everything written post-Declaration and post-Revolution. The Revolution speaks for itself since part of the immediate impetus was an attempt to confiscate arms. If you want to let the unthinking mob rule, lots of luck because that is worse than anarchy.

  23. You gotta love the proggies. Whatever they want is democratic, and if you disagree — even if a majority of you disagree — you’re therefore antidemocratic.

People who voted for the new crop of Democrats are belatedly realizing that they voted in a bunch of authoritarian jackwagons and are standing up to say “this is not what we elected you to do,” but they’re speaking out of turn. Don’t the proles know that they’re supposed to vote for their betters and then shut the hell up? *That* is what democracy means. Whatever made them think they could have any voice in the process outside an election? The nerve, I tell you…

Also, LOL at their whining about an “all-purpose Constitution that means whatever they want it to mean.” They simply cannot grok that a written document could have its own meaning, independent of what the reader wants.

  24. Tyranny of the majority.
A bit of food for thought:
    1. Only about 40% of the American colonists supported separation from Britain. 20 % were purely loyalist in actions and orientation and a further 40% were fence sitters.
    2. Those who harbored Anne Frank in their home were breaking the law. Those who removed her and sent her to a death camp were obeying it. Legal doesn’t mean just.
    3. In this context The Revolution may be seen as pushback by the colonists against what they perceived as unjust and inappropriate overreach by a remote authority serving its own needs.

  25. My Constitution is not “all purpose”. It has a single purpose – protecting the best system of government devised by Man. We have packed way too many free-loaders into way too many highrises and hoods.

  26. Perhaps all states should adopt a “Constitutional Republic” type delegate system similar to the Electoral College…many so called “blue states” have large urban areas that rule the votes…states like Connecticut and NY have conservative areas but their vote is quashed by the large cities(D). Even the unions in CT and NY know that a delegate system of ruling is superior to a democrasy….CT’s state unions set up a delegate system SO THEIR MEMBERS COULDN’T democratically VOTE THEM OUT! The unions are part of the D machine, they know how to play both ends against the middle

  27. Possibly I’m off base here, but having grow up in Brooklyn, which was and remains densely populated, the following strikes me as rather odd. The above article seems to say that living in a densely populated area requires one to give up constitutional rights. I find this less than acceptable, and causes me to view people who would create such situations with considerable suspicion.

  28. Unalienable rights are not subject to popular vote or mob rule.

Nothing in the Bill of Rights is subject to popular vote or mob rule.

May the SCOTUS apply strict scrutiny to all individual rights enumerated in the Bill of Rights.

  29. Oh, so now the “standard” is counting heads? Okay, let’s go with that.

“Moms” who showed up to support gun grabbing: 200

Constitutionalists who showed up to oppose that lawlessness: Thousands.

    Your move.

P.S. Vlad, you’re a moron. I don’t even bother reading anything you write (nor replies to your lunacy). You’re wasting your time, not mine. Just go away.

  30. The comments section of the original article is filled with very articulate and thorough rebuttals to the article and to supporting comments. Great way to inform non POTG.

  31. The Republican Party received a majority of the votes in the last election. Legislative districts are anti-Democratic. We need to move to proportional representation. /sarc.

  32. Of course, its a Bloomberg Opinion… The “countless hectares of American forest, farm and pasture” in a county that measures land in acres was more then a clue to the intent of the author

  33. Wilkinson says sarcastically, “Densely populated America, in other words, is not real America, and opposing real America is by definition unconstitutional.”

That statement in this anti-gun rant is bullshit, and Wilkinson knows it.
Opposing the Constitution is what’s unconstitutional!
    Duh.

  34. No worries Vlad, we figured it out when you pointed to NAZIs as “Far Right,” not knowing that “the only thing fascism is to the right of, is communism.” We know you live in a small world.

    ;))

  35. The way the political system was set up (Senate vs. House) was because the founders felt that there had to be give and take to make rules and laws. No mob majority forcing their desires on the rest of the nation. If one side wants something, thsy will have to work with the other side and make compromises to to pass a piece of legistlation…………..

  36. Ok, The idiot known here as Vlad Tepes may have been identified but anybody familiar with the family of Trolls known under the rubric of Wolftracker can identify him from his writing sryle. So my question to WolfTracket-Vlad is since we now know who you are why don’t you just your real name?

  37. “popular government action” /= constitutional or moral by default.

Slavery was popular government action at one point, as was Jim Crow, segregation, etc

  38. How is it not democratic when it’s the will of the people?

Democratic doesn’t mean imperialistic, which is what the anti-gunners want: urban areas ruling the rest not for the benefit of all but for their own. Anti-gunners are imperialists.

  39. The Libertarian press really supports the illegal alien sanctuary movement. But they are REALLY quite about gun sanctuaries.
    I wonder why???
    Any Links???
