David Hogg desperately wants his fifteen minutes of fame to continue. When Senator Marco Rubio tweeted a religious message last Friday, December 7th, the media’s favorite anti-gun teen just couldn’t help himself. Furiously tapping away at his keyboard, Hogg tweeted back “Who is going to be the one to tell Marco Rubio that Bible verses don’t stop kids from getting shot?”

Hogg quickly emerged as a darling of the mainstream media and the Civilian Disarmament Industrial Complex after the Parkland shooting. Purely by coincidence.

As Mr. Hogg failed to gain acceptance at a number of colleges to which he applied, he’s apparently been relegated to full-time work trying to extend his relevance. Gasping for the oxygen of publicity, if you will. Attacking President Trump only goes so far, so he’s sticking with the “gun violence” racket.

The bigger question for David Hogg and his “March for Our Lives” followers: Who will tell them that gun-free zones don’t stop kids – or anyone else – from getting shot?

Take this recent double-homicide scene in Chicago as an example. Note the Illinois-specific “gun-free zone” sign on the business’s front door.

David Hogg's Gasping For Relevance

Here’s a closer shot.

David Hogg's Gasping For Relevance

For some reason, the sign did nothing to stop two teens from storming in with guns to rob the place. Government policies and gun control laws protected no one in the store. After all, it’s good guys with guns that stop bad people with evil in their hearts. Not gun control laws.

Fortunately a good guy was there, with his gun. As the image above reveals, an armed store clerk defended himself. He shot two would-be robbers probably saving his own life and possibly those of other innocents in the store.

From the Chicago Tribune:

Two would-be robbers who were fatally shot at a liquor store in the Gresham neighborhood Saturday night have been identified as a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy, authorities said.

Keshawn Marzette, 15, of the 8300 block of South Throop Street, and William Larson, 17, of the same address, were pronounced dead on the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Once more, a good guy with a gun stops violent crime and saves innocent lives. Not a silly, useless sign or another gun control law.

Who’s going to be the one to tell David Hogg?

    • I thought the same thing , until I scrolled down & saw the blood. Though it is debatable which is the more disturbing picture , Hogg or the deceased criminals. Btw I think Hogg was just told !!

      • No, it’s the Hogg picture that’s more disturbing, seriously. Dead crooks who were trying to victimize others doesn’t bother me, nor the sight of blood. However, seeing Hoggs crooked face…again during my morning coffee IS disturbing. I don’t like that little squid at all. He’s a young, naive, inconsequential little dweeb of ZERO importance who like Hildabeast, doesn’t know when to fade back into obscurity. He had his moments of fame, now it’s over.

        Get lost Hogg boy.

        • He just looks like an insipid little punk. And when he opens his mouth and spews forth….yep, he confirms that he’s an insipid little punk.

    • Something is very wrong when new ” RED FLAG ” laws are used to harass lawful gun owners because someone had a ‘ feeling ‘ and made a secret complaint to a secret court hearing , while the same Red Flag laws do NOTHING to stop Thugs known to police / court system.

    • Me too! I thought that was going to be a new editorial decision, and I welcome it personally.

Anyway, Hogg and his handlers are “lawful use and self defense deniers.” In their fantasy world, guns are magical talismans, imbued with the forces of evil which cannot be redeemed or used for any good purposes* unless destroyed, melted down, and turned into a disarmament sculpture which is then blessed with purity incantations to remove the bad vibes. All guns are dirty, scary, high powered, and will corrupt the souls of humanity and possess them to make them into killers. Guns smoke, and cause global warming. Guns murder innocent animals. Guns do kill, because they are demons which just possess human bodies to force them to do their bidding. Yucky, yucky guns.

      * Only government can use guns safely, only police and personal bodyguards and military can be trusted with them. Except, depending on the situation, sometimes police and government and border patrol and ice should not be armed, like when Black lives matter. And no guns or security guards in school, see magical forces of evil violating a safe space, above. But usually police and government are exempt from the rules, because otherwise the discussion would be over. Whew!

      • That idea of punishing physical implements for crimes their owners committed was a real thing in medieval times. I just can’t remember the name of the concept. Started with a “d”, as I recall.

I first heard the term and its idea in a medieval history class in college. Then I neither heard it or read it again for over twenty-five years until I read it in a TTAG article Farago wrote a few years ago. Now I’ve forgotten it again. Anyone know it?

        • “In the first place, if a
murderer was unknown or could not be found, he was nevertheless
tried at this court.’ Then inanimate things-such as
stones, beams, pieces of iron, ctc.,-which had caused the death
          of a man by falling upon him-were put on trial at the Prytaneum;
2 and lastly animals, which had similarly been the cause
          of death.3”

      • That always amused me. The left says that only law enforcement should have guns. But the left says that law enforcement officers are racist pigs who profile, brutalize, and murder black citizens. The irony escapes them.

    • Me too. Blood in headline photos has not been graphic news since the Vietnam War, as in my parents having covered my eyes during reports of the war on the evening news. Now, Hogg’s face, that deserves a parental warning!

      • And the TV’s showed images in black and white then, and news was broadcast in black and white, blood was just a very dark shade of grey then.
Color imagery has become an integral part of the desensitization and killing enabling bestowed on our children by modern media as described by Lt. Col. Dave Grossman, which is more to blame for the incidence of the rise of violence than the existence of any inanimate firearm.
And based on the comments I just read, so is Hogg’s face.

        • Not necessarily. I remember color news images from Vietnam. Our neighbors had color TV in 1965, and my folks got our first color TV in 1968!

    • Who keeps letting that little loser post crap that falls out his butt.If his buddy Sheriff Israel did his jod and remove that kids guns no one would of got hurt.He is a little Hitler for CNN and the scripted fake news..This kid if nothing more than a wanna be.he needs to put down that Kool-aid. Guns don’t kill people.Democrats kill people.

      • Give it a day or two and the media will be pushing the boys’ mother in front of a camera to claim that her boys were good boys and the clerk didn’t need to gun them down.

        • They just needed money for ($300/pair) sneekers for school. How else they supposed to get money?

        • But, Gov., of course they were “good boys,” the provided the bulk of the income to their family. Even accounting for government supplements, the “boys'” brought home more than taxpayers could provide. Now, mom has lost her retirement plan and someone needs to pay for this.

      • It’s 6PM do you know where your kids are? That’s from a bygone era in the suburbs. Inner city neighborhoods especially most poor neighborhoods don’t give a damned where their kids are. Not knowing only makes the parents feel less guilty, because they don’t have any dinner to serve them anyway. Kind of sad when you think about it.

  1. Unfortunately this qualifies as a mass shooting which will be added to the statistics. If the clerk didn’t have a gun those kids would have taken what they wanted and still be alive and grow up to be upstanding citizens and leaders of the community.

    • Amen brother! I think a draft is in order to straighten these pricks out. That and national service to those who can’t serve. It will do us all good.

      • Drafts are a stupid idea. Beside the fact that government should not have authority to FORCE you to go die in whatever idiot war they got involved in, that you may not agree with. If you were a professional volunteer soldier in a hostile far away land, do you really want to have this shit-for-brains watching your back? If he doesn’t want to be there, I’d rather he not be there.
The military’s job is to defend our borders and win wars. Not play babysitter for a bunch of pansy-ass soyboys.

        • The government forces citizens to BUY health insurance, so the draft is no different. Either work multiple jobs to pay for insurance whether you want it or not or go in the military via draft or volunteer and not have insurance provided for you.

The government should not have the power to force anyone to buy anything. Motor vehicle insurance is voluntary since there are other means of transportation; but if you don’t have health insurance then you will pay a fine. Besides drafting these young men may be a huge help to them in the long run.

Bill was a draft dodger and look what it got him!

  2. The 2 robbers in chicago are 18, when the gun grabbers say x number of kids are killed by guns each day. Those 2 in chicago count as “kids” because they were under 18 even though they were armed robbers.

  3. I wonder if those two urban youths purchased their firearms after a NICS background check; Im also wondering if even if they actual tried a legal purchase had the Chicago/Illinois youth offender system given them the record they most certainly have. I mean just to bring Mr. Hogg back into this post, it was such political whitewashing of Nikolas Cruz’s red-flag behavior that allowed him to legally purchase his firearms.

  4. [The armed store clerk] shot two would-be robbers probably saving his own life and possibly those of other innocents in the store.

And the store clerk probably saved the lives of many innocents OUTSIDE the store as well.

(Those two armed robbers almost certainly would have continued a life of violent crime after leaving the liquor store. Fortunately, they did not leave the store to terrorize, brutalize, and/or murder other people.)

    • So true. Most criminals will escalate the severity of their crimes the more crimes they commit especially when there is no one to stop them. Even if caught, 80% will reoffend. If they hadn’t killed already, I would say they were predisposed to murder someone at a future robbery if they had lived.

  5. The problem isn’t guns, the problem is evil, the problem is the lack of morals. We keep telling people, “guns don’t kill people, people kill people.” Then the left ridicules us for it. But what are we trying to say there? We are trying to say that a gun is a simple machine, easily crafted by those with incentive. A machine can be used for bad or good. The machine is neither bad nor good, that part is up to you. That means it is the choice, to use the machine in a bad way, that is the problem. Not the presence, ownership, or existence of the machine. The machine is a method. The choice is the problem. So I disagree with Hogg. The bible is a book of morals. It might not be perfect. But even if you are an atheist, the Bible is the empirical data of countless lives over countless years, documented. And the morals are embedded in the stories. So, I disagree with Hogg. It would go much further, to discuss with your kids about morals, and about the value of the bible, our history, our psychological leanings, our existentialism and who we are, so we can seek out meaningful lives, than to try to eliminate our freedom to access or own certain things that could be dangerous. And that pursuit will curb “the decision” to reach for a gun to commit something heinous. That will curb “the decision” to reach for a knife, or poison, or craft a gun on a lathe or mill, or mix some chemicals for a bomb. It will curb those. And that is far more mitigating a factor than trying to take away peoples methods to hurt others. It’s better to try to take away the malice in the hearts of those with ill intent, because no gun control law, can take that away.

    • Paragraph structure, brah.

Also, can we please leave the overt religion out of it? It’s not necessary. Millions of agnostics and atheists harmed no one today. Many of them are gun owners and non-believers.

What’s missing isn’t religion. What’s missing in most cases is a family structure that reinforces positive social behavior. That structure is, too often, being replaced with one that reinforces negative social behavior.

Overt attempts to insert religion will not work for social ills of this type any more than they work for drug addiction. Not to put too fine a point on it but either drugs/alcohol are more powerful than God or it’s pretty rare for people to suddenly gain enough faith to put aside their demons.

      • Yeah sure millions of atheist communists today are peaceful moral people. Tell that to the Kulaks. You sound like an Apparatchik for Stalin. Traditional family structure has been attacked by communists and socialists for generations and the results are more than evident. Christians have been trying to preserve the family and we are condemned for it. You can’t have it both ways. Atheists are part of the dissolution of the family.

        • The fact that those who think the State is all powerful happen to have atheists doesn’t mean that every atheist is a Statist. One can, and many people do, not believe in either an “all powerful state” or an “all powerful God”. It’s kinda the same way one can be a Christian and be gay.

The fact that religiously based “recovery” programs for addicts, like AA, NA, SA, CA etc boast an ~11% success rating while those that focus on personal accountability and personal responsibility sans the religious portion have a success rating of around 50% tells you all you need to know about “religious intervention” in already shitty situations.

A healthy family dynamic doesn’t require religion. It’s not incompatible with religion but the religious component is certainly not a prerequisite for success. Introducing religion after the situation has gone to shit is unlikely to help.

Further, the way that you attack me as an “apparatchik for Stalin” simply for stating, as is quite clear factually, that religion isn’t necessary here and, when introduced after-the-fact, will likely make things worse tells me everything I need to know about your reading comprehension, knowledge of history, understanding of human nature and the strength of whatever faith you might profess to have. This might be, honestly, one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard as a defense of religion.

Atheists are part of the problem? So are Christians and Jews and Muslims and Buddhists and anyone else who doesn’t bother to properly raise their kids.

Besides, your whole argument is total horseshit on it’s face. You know who, other than Catholics, loves to wear a Jesus piece (cross necklace)? Gang bangers. Gang bangers often LOVE them some Jesus. Same thing with Cartel members and Mafioso types, both of whom often are hardcore Catholic. So, how exactly is Jesus the answer since, it would seem, that most of the really serious criminals in the Western world are Christian? Oh, I know. I know. They’re not real Christians, right? LOL!

      • Exactly. Religion is not going to solve any of this.
Chances are pretty good that both the boy’s fathers are either dead or in prison. If they’re not, then they probably witnessed him killing someone or beating the mother.
Family structure is everything. Not just being there either. Parents are a guide to their children.
This isn’t just a black problem either. You can see it across all races.
Show your kids you don’t care and they’ll do whatever they want. People are a product of their environment.

        • “Show your kids you don’t care and they’ll do whatever they want.”

The real problem, IMHO, is that they’ll likely go looking for someone who appears to care/grants them some sort of acceptance. Often they’ll find such “care” or “acceptance” in exactly the wrong places.

        • Exactly. Religion is not going to solve any of this.

lol. While you guys say religion isn’t going to help anything. You’ll religiously look for meaning in your life, and religiously look for values, and then you’ll religiously apply them to your life and children.

Chances are pretty good that both the boy’s fathers are either dead or in prison. If they’re not, then they probably witnessed him killing someone or beating the mother.
          Family structure is everything.

LOL and family structure came from what? It came from religion.

Not just being there either. Parents are a guide to their children.

          LOL

          Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.

          Ephesians 6:4
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

          Joel 1:3
Tell your sons about it, And let your sons tell their sons, And their sons the next generation.

          Proverbs 13:24
He who withholds his rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him diligently.

Look guys, I don’t even like the Bible that much, and I am not dogmatic about it. I’m just saying that all those people before us – they have already been there, and done that. And they have useful things to share with us.

      • Also, can we please leave the overt religion out of it? It’s not necessary. Millions of agnostics and atheists harmed no one today. Many of them are gun owners and non-believers.

Unfortunately, no we can’t. We are inherently religious. Since we know very little we put our “faith” in things we believe. Atheists do this too. They just believe in something different.

What’s missing isn’t religion. What’s missing in most cases is a family structure that reinforces positive social behavior. That structure is, too often, being replaced with one that reinforces negative social behavior.

Funny how you promote the family structure, which the Bible also promotes. So even as an atheist, the bible is very important. It is the empirical data of the morals that we attempted to instantiate int the world, and the documentation of those that were successful. I am guessing that most, if not all, of your values will also align with past religious teachings.

You guys seem to detest the dogmatic God, but ignore the practical because it was placed next to the dogmatic, and thus throw the baby out with the bathwater. I didn’t say get religious. I mean to say that people need to inspire in their youth, morals, ethics, values, and a pursuit for meaning in their lives. It doesn’t mean you need to stop what you are doing and start praying, or roll around on the floor speaking in tongues. It means the religions had value, and morals don’t come from science. They never did. Morals came from religion. And you can study religion in a non believing, non-dogmatic way and implement those tried and true, tested morals.

  6. Well, we won’t know if this counts as a DGU, a mass shooting, or what, until the CDC publishes a determination … so, 2040, or so?

  7. We do not bolster the credibility of the 2A community by joking about dead teenagers. Some of the comments above are appalling. This is an ongoing tragedy. Sadly, these boys’ fate was sealed when they decided to pursue a life of violence. Their only two options became prison or death.

I’m glad the store clerk was able to defend himself and others. In any struggle of good vs. evil, we should be thankful when good comes out ahead. But dancing in the blood of dead kids should be left to the Watts and Feinsteins of the world. It’s their specialty.

    • Nope. These are “kids” only because America says so. Anywhere else on Earth (or in history) they would be considered grown men. Through 99% of our species’ history teenagers have won wars, conquered nations, built empires…

They did not accidently rob someone, and they were not children who “made a bad choice”. They were predators who CHOSE that life, and by extension, CHOSE their fate.

    • You’re right, this is serious stuff. I wouldn’t joke about it — and I’m serious when I say it’s a good thing those two people are dead.

I’m not wishing death on anyone; it would be far better if no one had to die. I feel sympathy for those who loved the deceased. But these two goblins threatened an innocent person with death. if anyone is going to die, then it had better be the goblins.

It’s a bad situation in which all the outcomes suck, but this was the best among the available options. I’m glad it worked out with the right people dead.

  8. I don’t want to tell that nonrelavent kid anything. Except GOAWAY already. No one of any consequence is listening to your constantly driviling talking points.

  9. You should never try to teach a pig to sing…It wastes your time and annoys the pig. something my father taught me decades ago. True then…Still true today.

    • I must have grown up in some strange, forgotten backwater because I was taught that you shouldn’t try to teach a pig to dance – same reasons though.

  10. Question; in the second picture, you can see a pistol on the rug. Is it a SCCY or a Taurus? Word is that those little SCCY pistols are getting increasingly popular in the ‘hood.

    • Im sure they are. Well under $200 new. Stolen on the market, who knows? The Davis 380s of the 21st century. And 9mm to boot.

  11. That punk doesn’t even looked surprised. Like his dying thought was “welp, can’t say I didn’t see this coming.”

    • Yea, just like that other worthless asshole bully in Ferguson Missouri. He was a good college bound boy too. And he was going to go to college with a “D” average in High School and a sub 70 IQ, and probably a rap sheet as long as his arm that no one ever heard about. “MOVE ALONG, NOTHING TO SEE HERE” !!! “Clean-up on isle#1″…

  12. Gospel of Luke, 22:36 NIV, little Devine guidance about cloaks and swords. There wasn’t a cop on every street corner, come to think of it, there probably weren’t all that many street corners. “…2.”, “…that should be enough.” -30-

  13. Well, they thought they were hot shit tough guys and now they’re dead. Can’t feel any sorrow for them. Can’t feel any respect for Hogg either. That little band of know-it-alls from Parkland need to go work for the police on the front line for two weeks and then see what they think about guns. Defend the public from criminals or defend yourself from criminals without a gun and see where that gets you. Hogg’s an idiot. Most kids are, but you can’t tell them a damn thing. THEY’RE SMART. THEY COULDA BEEN SOMEBODY. THEY CAN DO THINGS.

  14. We really need to address the issue of why there are kids in Chicago going around with illegal guns trying to hold up or shoot people. This is such a serious problem in America and no one is addressing it. These kids 15 and 17 years old should not be dead. They should be at home or in school. I don’t want to see a parent or neighbor given any news airtime talking about these kids that does not address the issue. There is an elephant in the room that needs to be addressed and it’s not Legal GUNS in the hands of law abiding individuals.

    • If you read the Tribune story (thanks MLee for the link), you might get a few clues. The two deceased kids were half-brothers, and had a half-sister (same mom, three different last names). I’ll try not to make too many assumptions but it’s a safe bet they were not raised in a stable home home with a father to provide moral guidance, a positive influence and an example of how decent, responsible men should behave.

The only role models these teenagers had were the gang bangers who gave them the gun and taught them how to steal.

When you have entire communities and multiple generations of people who have no concept of a traditional family unit, this is the inevitable and tragic result.

  15. Black people harass store owners to stop selling toy guns because black parents can’t teach their kids to not commit crimes and to listen to their parents’ rules:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXeztT0g5b4

The black and Muslim people doing this claim their goal isn’t to bullying store owners….

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOh1jLXGG2M

Notice how they say their people’s children would rob them with the fake gun then would be shot if they did so and that will be the store owner’s fault.

I didn’t go around robbing people with the BB gun my dad bought me nor did I point it at the cops. I did some stupid stuff with it, but not that stupid. My dad didn’t go to the store and blame the seller for the things I did.

  16. Hogg-boyy looks like he was sent over by central casting for The Waltons.

    “g’nite Mary Ellen”
    “g’nite Hogg-boyy”

This kid has said so much stupid stuff, I don’t think even the anti-gun mob wants him. He’s an embarrassment to everyone– especially the education system.

  17. BREAKING. 4 dead in mass shooting incident in Paris, France. Incident occurred at a Christmas market.

And this is only supposed to happen in America?

  18. Anyone but me ever notice the facial (and other) resemblance to another mouthpiece for another socialist autocratic dictatorial political movement?

Progress, far from consisting in change, depends on retentiveness. When change is absolute there remains no being to improve and no direction is set for possible improvement: and when experience is not retained, as among savages, infancy is perpetual. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. (George Santayana)

  19. One factor in the criminaL homicide rate are soft-on-violent-crime judges and prosecutors.

    http://www.cnn.com/2018/12/11/us/baylor-ex-frat-president-rape-allegation/index.html

Ethan Couch should have gotten the death penalty. Instead, he is a free man now.

I would sadly not be surprised if Nikolas Cruz was free within three years even if he was convicted.

I am understanding why Fred Guttenberg wanted to meet Brett Kavanaugh during the confirmation hearings. It would have been wrong for Kavanaugh to meet with Guttenberg, as the former was being considered for a seat on a Court that could very well decide an appeal arising from the Cruz murder trial, and a meeting would undermine the appearance of Kavanaugh’s impartiality regarding the appeal.

But I do understand Guttenberg’s desire to not want Nikolas Cruz to receive the same sentence Ethan Couch did.
