Once again, thank God I live where I do. We have a sheriff’s department that has responded promptly to every call. Even when they were just suspicious activity calls, (we’ve had 2 recently which both turned out OK) they were there within 5 minutes.
The conduct on the video is inexcusable.
My local PD always responds in less than two minutes. If the call sounds serious, two squad cars in that time frame. A gun involved? Six cars. Drive a few miles over to the city? 45 minutes to respond to a 911 call by a woman reporting she was being raped. The rape went on until the PD eventually showed up and the rapist fled on foot. Big city forces absolutely develop huge entropy due to big union power. I’m not the least anti-LEO, until a department morphs into a benefits factory.
The one time I had reason to call the San Francisco PD with a 911 call (burglar breaking into a car behind my apartment), they were on scene in 38 seconds. Maybe it was a quiet night, or my timing was propitious to an officer nearby. But I was impressed. And they nabbed the BG in the act to boot.
Yep. The good ol’ shire reeve is an elected official in most counties, gives you more incentives to do your job right. They don’t always have the enforcement abilities they should though (Massachusetts). Note that it’s the sheriffs across the country that are saying they won’t enforce unconstitutional gun laws.
My local SO is wonderful. If you call them, as they themselves say, “someone’s going to get arrested.” Even if it’s you for wasting their time.
They’re some pretty tough dudes who have no policy whatsoever regulating them popping people’s pets regardless of whether they are a threat or not.
They’re cool cats who bribe the Civilian Review Board members with all sorts of trips, outings and nice things.
They’ll even kick your ass when you’re handcuffed and in the paddock and they’ll get away with it because you’re black and said something bad about their mothers!
