Arizona high school students now have to pass a U.S. citizenship test to graduate. It’s a trend! The voters of tomorrow will make better informed choices. You may not share that confidence. Equally, the term “low information voter” raises the limbo (not Limbaugh) question: how low can you go? Meanwhile, the Bloomberg-financed anti-gun agitprop targeting AB 148 above is short on facts and long on fear-mongering. Will voters wonder what’s wrong with this picture? God I hope so.
Man, is that stupid. Are there people out there who really believe that violent criminals and the dangerously mentally ill are waiting for government permission to start carrying guns?
Or that it will be legal for criminals to carry guns even after this passes? Those guys in the video with tattoos getting their mugshots would still be barred by federal law from even holding a firearm.
Also, won’t it still be illegal to commit a violent crime, whether carrying or not?
IMHO, yours may vary, people that start spouting terms like “low info voter” and “sheeple” are just pissed cause the other person didn’t immediately agree with them. Neither term has value or meaning.
Low info voter is accurate in many cases (but abused greatly, I admit).
I know plenty of folks who vote for more money for bond issues without really knowing where that money comes from (or worse, they really do know and just don’t care). If you’re against money for an EMT, you’re against old people! WTF? No.

I don’t know about other people … when I refer to “sheeple”, I am referring to people that actually want to be “sheep” no matter how much you explain to them and no matter how long they have to ponder and internalize it.
When I refer to “low information voters”, I am referring to people who have basically no general knowledge and no clue about a specific issue … and have no interest in learning anything about that issue regardless of the impact it will have on them.
Mine varies.
Any word or phrase can be abused by the ill-intentioned, just as statistics can be made to “lie.” Likewise, in dishonest hands, logic can be tortured until it confesses to anything you choose..
Still, in the case of those particular terms, they’re most likely to be leveled against liberals by conservatives. Based on the intrinsic perfidy of liberalism, the charge is more often than not apt to be accurate, as liberalism requires ignorance (low information voters) and/or incompetence (sheeple) to secure adherents.
I do get your point, though, and I would agree with it as applied to another pair of sayings: “Keep an open mind…….” and “Closed minded.” Typically, people will use the first as a preemptive strike to guilt others into agreement with their own view, and use the second as a parting shot to those who still don’t agree.
A “low information voter” is the type of person who believes that SNL or the John Stewart show are legitimate sources for news and political information, and vote accordingly. How many such people still believe that Sarah Palin actually said, “I can see Russia from my house”?
“Sheeple” are merely people who utterly fail to think or to act for themselves, and allow themselves to be told what to think and do.

First, criminals have never waited for a law to carry a gun. Second, it seems to me that the bills says nothing about criminals carrying guns.
It’s a pity: if you cut off the first part of the ad where it says “if this passes,” the rest of it describes every reason to carry perfectly.
The inference is that “extremist Michele Fiore and her friends in the Legislature” want to allow criminals and mentally ill people to carry guns … and that’s where the blatant lie is. It’s already illegal. Can they make it ‘more illegal’ by infringing on the rights of those who are not “criminals” nor “mentally ill”?
Michelle Fiore must immediately sue Bloomberg for slander and defamation of character.
Can someone sue for an immediate injunction against a political advertisement that is so blatantly untrue? Freedom of speech does not mean freedom to lie about bills pending in the legislature any more than the Second Amendment means that I can shoot into people’s homes.
As we found out here in Washington, during the I-594 campaign, truth in advertising laws do not apply to political ads.

Who wants to bet the “citizenship test” is totally uncritical of government power and abuse?
The test is described as the one used for people applying for citizenship. I helped my LEGAL immigrant wife study for hers. It’s a 100 questions about the functions of the government (legislative, judicial and executive), how many senators are there, how many representatives are there, how many judges on the supreme court, basic history of the country and year of notable wars, what the stars and stripes on the flag mean, how many states are there, and be able to name your local mayor, your district’s state legislators, your state’s governor, your state’s capital city, the nation’s president and vice president, and the chief justice of the supreme court. It’s been my observation that most people born here would NOT pass this test with a 60% grade if asked all 100 questions. Immigrants are asked 10 questions off this test and must answer 6 correctly, and no advance notice is given as to which 10 questions will be asked, so it is best to know all 100 questions and answers. Michele Fiore’s office could take this and run with it… “Yeah criminals can be armed anywhere, so vote yes on AB148 so that you can be armed and have a chance to defend yourself against them!”
There are no “low information voters.” Information is all over the place. What we do have is “low intelligence voters,” and they, too, are all over the place, thanks to the public education system and the left wing kooks that control it.
What we have are votes who vote for consonants only, not for issues.
