CM9, CW45, and T40 are awesome to carry and shoot.
Yeah, I have a CW9 in my rotation. Love the Alien Gear holsters too. I wish they made a Shape Shift Shell for it.
Seems like the Kahr have lost popularity since the Shield, Glock 43, and now Sig P365 came on line.
@Yep, I agree. One of My buddies had one that kept having a FTF after 2 factory visits. The G43, Shield and P365 are all reliable guns that eat almost any ammo. Can’t be a carry gun if it isn’t 100% reliable. But I’m sure this CM45 is.
BTW the picture looks nice enough to be in a magazine ad. Seems like its missing a cigar cutter and a lighter.
I carried various Kahrs until I got my G43. MK9, P9, P9 Covert, PM9, then back to a P9.
All my full sized guns are Glocks so I switched to a G43. Then I found I shot the P9 much better than the G43 and went back to the P9.
Which is how things stayed until I purchased a P365 last year. The 365 is small enough and the most shootable of all of them.
I’ve shot a few and they seemed pretty alright. A few of the LGS’s around here seem to seek a number of them.
Personally I’ve never owned one but if I saw one at a decent price I’d take it.

How’s the recoil on that CM45? What would you say it’s comparable to, roughly? I seriously considered getting a TP45, but after watching all of the online reviews I could find I concluded it must have some serious recoil. A Colt LTWT Commander is just this side of the “iffy” line for recoil for me.

My CW45 feels the same.
Uh. The CW45 weighs about half of what even an alloy framed 1911 weighs. Apples to oranges. Though its not too bad considering everything.
Though if you want recoil absorbing mass, Kahr makes that gun with a steel frame also.
Yes. I am extremely familiar with a Colt Mk IV Series 80 LTWT Commander. I was thinking more along the lines of what the felt recoil of the CM45 was in comparison to, let’s say, a snubby in .38 or .357? This would give me a practical point of comparison. For me, a snubby with standard-pressure .38s is not fun, but is tolerable. Going to .38 plus P in a snubby pushes me past the “iffy” line solidly into the discomfort zone. Touching off .357 Magnums in a snubby?… unh-uh, not me, not ever again, not nohow!
The CW45 recoils isn’t harsh, just shoves you around a bit more than a little 9mm – I found both the .45 and the 9mm pretty pleasant, and the DAO trigger is really nice, IMHO.
Worst gun manufacturer in my opinion at least hi-point will fire and not jam up!
I would never, ever pay money for a gun that requires a break-in period.

Good carry. Personally, I don’t care for tobacco. I had a friend give me a real Cuban Cohiba [sic?] All it did was ruin an expensive glass of bourbon and any chance of getting laid that night. Owned three Khar Arms. Good pistols, but I can work a small/medium frame DA revolver faster.
I don’t mind the smell of tobacco, my boss used to stuff me with a cigar before I gave him head.

I had a kahr pm9, it was shaving pieces of polymer off the top of the frame. Granted those are just faux rails and the real rails are metal inside the frame but i was still unhappy and worked out a deal with the gun shop to get rid of it. It soured me on the polymer kahrs.
Interesting Loadout that you have there. I’m glad that it works for you because that’s what’s important.
I had an opportunity to shoot that 45 once and decided it was probably one of the most unpleasant 45 carry guns I ever shot. Don’t mistake my statement for disparaging your choice, I just find it interesting that there are folks out there who truly do like them enough to carry them. I could very possibly have missed something about them.
I mean, you gotta make sacrifices if you wanna carry the hand of god.
CM40 is a, uh, spirited one to shoot, the P40 is much better all around. I find them conforting and comfortable. Really liked the cw45 I shot. Chamber mouths benefit greatly from a little polishing. Shouldn’t have to be that way, but I really like them once that is finished.

Thanks for the great comments. Couple quick hits. I’ve been a 2nd Amendment Supporter, and Carry holder for over forty years. I’ve shot tons of great guns. Smith & Wesson, Beretta, Walther. One of my all time favorites….Para Ordnance LDA. Love the 1911s. Just got to the point where they were just to heavy. So now I’m a Kahr Guy. I’ve got the cw 380 that stays locked in my car, two cm 9, lot of fun to shoot. And the cm 45. And you’re correct the break in period of kahr is a bitch. Any way thanks again for comments.
