Too much Hollywood is where that carry position comes from. Used by people who don’t train or practice.
No, some body shapes and sizes make that carry placement more comfortable or practical.
I won’t cry if I lost a 25-dollar pocket knife, so I won’t bust on him for that.

Funny thing, when you actually do surveys of minority neighborhoods most do not want the police gone. They just want better police.
Of course, in the shitty neighborhoods many people are addicted to the cops, although they like to complain. Cops spend more time with some of these useless idiots than with their own families.

What difference does it make when they’re doing away with bail and jail time? I’m guessing that the county sheriff will be overwhelmed if the city police department is neutered. Then the county will have to raise taxes on everyone, giving them yet another reason to flee democrat controlled areas.

If he can afford a Tag watch, the Ridge wallet is no big deal.
I used to carry my 1911 that way about 30 years ago. Then I slipped one winter and landed on it, spent a week in traction, followed by about a month of PT. But didn’t need surgery. Its a nice comfortable way to carry most of the time but I switched to the 4 o’clock. Just be careful.
Yeah, the only way I’d carry like that is if I wore a ‘cycle spine protector.

I don’t bother with full “leathers”.
Gore-Tex with armor inserts is bettah.
That said, if you come off a bike at speed you’ll very likely take impacts to your sides, hard ones.
Personally I drop my pistol, wallet, some medical stuff, and other “side gear” in a chest rig for riding and have it under my jacket (Usually a Olympia Motorsports AG5).

Center of the back is a terrible way to carry. Even though others did I wouldn’t even carry a handcuff case there. Too much risk of spinal injury.

Even my belt keepers were at 8 and 4.
Had back problems a couple of times even doing that.
Never had an issue while on the bike, just those darn broken down seats in the cruisers.
Same. I smashed everything together to keep it off my kidneys and spine. Went with a double-handcuff case in my gut when I sat down rather than put something back there.
But… I suppose there’s a lot less chance of rolling around when you’re going to Walmart than conducting patrol.
Ranger style belts are cool. Ever think about adding a silver western buckle and tongue tip?

Para P-12, Awsome, that’s my favorite carry also.
Only difference is mine is blued, I alternate between the Para & a Star Mega star in 9mm, the star is a alloy gun. Anyway, good choice, I use a belly band built for sub compacts.👍
Nice, used to have a Al framed blued P12 myself. Bought it in 95′ I think it was. It was a bit of a mess to begin with though, with FTF’s pretty much continuously. Para rectified the issue after a lengthy debate and 2 trips to & fro, ultimately on their dime, but my inconvenience. Sold it in late 99′, but in retrospect, I should’ve kept it. Carried pretty comfortably as I recall. And in the day, who could argue w/ 12+1 of .45 in a very concealable package?
Went into that purchase looking for a P10 actually, but none in stock aside from the larger cap/framed models. Handled the P12 a bit, and boom, there goes the dynamite. Went home w/ me 3 days later.
Nothing to complain about Para as a brand or DeSantis for that matter. Always surprised though to see a carry gun at the base of the spine. Just feels kind of high risk.
That knife looks like a straight razor on steroids…… I kinda like it.
Never carried SOB as it’s a pain in the ass to drive with it.
It does work if you’re walking around all the time.
I personally think the back threat is overblown.
I’ve known a bunch of people carrying IWB with a soft clip holster in MOB and no back injuries…even one that low-sided his bike and spun like a top on his back. It did ruin the clip.
Now hooking that puppy and dragging it out with a seatbelts or chair back…..that would be my main concern.
Pretty much every time they draw they flag their own spine, kidneys, illiac and femoral arteries. And people say appendix is dangerous.
No. They don’t. Unless the muzzle is already pointed into their body. Which it’s not with an SOB holster.
It’s close but parallel to their body the same way any OWB holster is oriented.
Now you could argue that IWB is closer to your body and may interact. And it’s obvious that AIWB is likely to have the muzzle sweep something if you’re moving at all.
Finger off the trigger until you’re on target is the mantra regardless of carry.
Specialist, just because one guy didn’t get hurt doesn’t mean no one else will. I wish I had a $100 dollar bill for everytime I heard a defense tactics instructor say, “Don’t carry anything on the small of your back above your spine!” Really, why would you? I have to say though, some of the stupid still do.
Sorry. If you have incidences of injury, I’m willing to listen. Dont have a dog in this hunt as I dont carry SOB as a rule.
Kinda like all those dead people behind you when wearing a shoulder holster – Carried that way for years.
Pocket carried a revolver with no holster – cause I’d never seen a pocket holster until Thad Rybka made one – never an ND as it was alone in the pocket.
I do know a couple of people who bruised or cracked their coccyx. One slipped off a ladder 4 foot up and the other slipped on icy steps. Nothing protecting their ass-end.
I imagine an ND is more likely to the average person as opposed to injury falling on a holstered gun. And we’ve all seen the video of the gunshop guy with AIWB get shot when squats.
If it’s a big deal, I’d like to see some cases where that SOB carry what the mainmfactor in injury.
Specialist, it’s not as big a deal for the CCW citizen as it is for an LEO since the citizen is far less likely to engage in a physical struggle with a bad guy. LEO routinely is on the asphalt, parking lot, stairs, floor, etc. with a suspect. With LEO it’s mostly the cuff case that causes a problem. Still, not a good idea to carry anything harder than a marshmallow against your spine.
Flag. I should’ve stated early that LEO would probably be the exception as they are more likely to tussle on Duty (maybe off as well).
But how many LEO would ever carry SOB? Certainly not their duty weapon.
But most LEO i see in my travels have something back there on their bat belt. Cuffs, pepper, baton, maybe their lunch. I have even seen a couple in my county that carry their backup over their left kidney. Lotta stuff and a little room.
I just dont think the average person is going to have a problem with SOB carry ….. unless they drive as much as I do….wear our your seat and your back.
Hell, I’ve even moved from 4 o’clock to 3 o’clock. Made a huge difference in back comfort, but makes it harder to buckle the seat belt.
that darn baton is always digging in my side while in a patrol car. I don’t keep anything near my holster so everything is on my left side.

Geoff, thanks for sharing that. I would have made them fire me though. I’ve often said that open carry should be legal, but it is not always wise. It has been wise since last Memorial Day.
