JJS writes . . .

When I leave the bunker, I carry my 9mm CZ 2075D RAMI in a Vedder LightTuck IWB holster with a spare 14-round magazine, Streamlight ProTac 1L-1AA flashlight and either a SOG Kiku 3.5″ knife or an Ontario Knife Company XM-12 TiS 3.625″ knife.

  1. Pistol he likes. No experience, so no comment. Spare mag. Knife. Light. If there’s a PX he’s covered.

    • I’ve looked at these CZ Rami pistols. I really liked what I saw. They might be a bit heavy, but really seem like nice guns.

Unfortunately, there are far more guns that I want to buy than I can actually buy. It is kinda hard to persuade the wife that I actually NEED more than a couple dozen firearms.

      • same here. every time i’ve seen a RAMI at the lgs i’ve hemmed and hawed over it. don’t mind giving CZ my money, but at the same time it would probably just sit in the safe

might be a good use of that stimulus cash though…hmmm

        • “i’ve hemmed and hawed over it.“
It’s been a long time since I’ve heard that term used.
That put a smile on my face 🙂

        • Do I buy it now or wait? It’s a difficult choice to make when you like CZ products, as some of them are pretty hard to find in stock (especially the metal/alloy frame models). I saw one I wanted, but I put it off, said I’d buy it next time. Wanted a RAMI in 40 S&W. Instead I bought the CZ 75 D Compact PCR 9mm they had. So I waited, and waited, hoping I would find a RAMI in 40 S&W again; and then come to find out, they discontinued making the 40 S&W model! Never to be found again, and I checked places all over the market I live in, nowhere to be found. I even wrote to CZ. They said check your dealers. It was even impossible to find a 9mm RAMI for quite some time. Finally did find one of those, with night sights, decocker, and a 10 & 14 round magazine. This time I snapped it up right away . . . still wish I had the 40 S&W though! Yes indeed, the wood grips on the RAMI pictured here look excellent!

      • Art, I think was Bill Jordan who was speaking to an audience when he was asked by an attendee, (I paraphrase) “How do you get all these guns past your wife without her noticing.” He replied, “You sir, have not arrived. You will have arrived when she can’t tell the difference.” Might have been Skeeter Skeleton.

    • It’s a good shooter, about half of the slide rides internal to the frame, lowering muzzle ‘flip’ on firing.

Go look at one, it comes with a de-cocker option, the ‘BD’, making the long, heavy, double-action first shot the weapon’s safety.

The one above has the 10-round magazine in it, when the 14 round magazine is used, it allows a full 4-finger grip, and to me, it gives a much different ‘feel’ to it that I like…

  2. I meant to ask, what type of ammo? Looks like an XTP bullet sticking out of the top round in the mag.

    Also, nice setup.

  3. Nice. Some good hammer-fired carry.

CZ makes some nice stuff and a good design.

    Never seen those grips…nice.

    I like Streamlight as well.

    Carry on.

  5. I’ve tried several semi autos, but settled on the 2075BD (decocker) RAMI myself. The only caveat is they recommend you replace the recoil assembly every 500 rounds (as I recall), but they are cheap and CZ-USA seems to keep them in stock.

Fair warning for lefties they don’t really have the left handed safety conversion in stock and apparently don’t know what they look like so, after receiving two right handed safeties, I finally gave up and got rid of the plain vanilla 2075. The BD model has better sights and the decoder is safer anyway.

  6. If I ever come across a PCR in person, I’m buying it. The closest I’m come in a LGS was a P-01. I’ve never had a gun feel more perfect in my hand. The grip. The heft. All that room on the frame for my thumbs-high hold. It was just ergonomically perfect.

    One of these days…
