We’d guess that, whatever side of Santa’s ledger your name came down on this year, someone you know left something other than coal under the tree for you. TTAG readers overwhelmingly seem to end up in the nice column, so the jolly old elf no doubt tucked a nicely wrapped item under the tree with your name on it.

Whoever left the gifts, if you’re reading this, you probably got something that’s in some way related to owning, building, maintaining, accessorizing, customizing, carrying, storing, feeding or shooting guns.

So spill. What did you get for Christmas this year?

  1. What do you get for a guy who has everything he needs? I got a Christmas card from my daughter, homemade treats from Mum and Sis. I haven’t been in the mood to shop for firearms, and I’ve given up for now on shopping for ammo. Heck, I can’t even bring myself to go “window” shopping at the LGS. Then again, I sold my house a few days ago and put in a bid on its replacement last night. So that Sharps carbine in .45-70 is going to have to wait.

  2. About 16 plus inches of heavy wet snow that won’t throw, that just likes to clog up my snowblower…….

      • @ D Day thanks for the heads up tip (youtube video) on the auger modification. I’ll see if I can adapt that to mine, I have a bunch of thick rubber already just like they were showing; hard to believe just that little 1/4 in gap closed up will do that much improvement!

    • I took a moment to write my State Rep and told him to pass the POTUS $2000.00 Stimulus Assistance. Lots of folks are hurting during these diffucult times and I told him it’s no time to be a Scrooge and squeeze the weenie out of the hotdog. And no matter how he feels the Republican Party does not need such a boat anchor around its neck.

      Right off the top is a bit by bit 10-11% sales tax so in the long run what you see is not what you get. There should have been a stand alone bill passed prior to Thanksgiving. Instead it was bundled and those in real need got the scraps. The POTUS was wise not to sign it.

      • Do you have any idea what else is in that bill?

        That bill should NEVER pass. If you want to give relief to Americans, fine. But I encourage you to look up the other 960 billion in that bill before you say it’s worth 600, 2000, or even 5000 on our own pockets.

        • What part of a stand alone bill noted in my post don’t you understand? I know what’s in the bill and what is not in the bill and that is why I said the POTUS was wise not to sign it. Pay Attention.
          I assume your belly is full and the world revolves around you otherwise instead of blowing smoke you would have wriitten your congressman and ask him to support the POTUS and those who need assistance. If you cannot do that just sit there and pass gas until you can.

  3. Picked up a Rough n Rowdy from Bond Arms in 9 mm for my wife. She’s wearing it now in a DalTech lacy belly band…and nothing else.

  4. Leatherman Charge plus + TTI with all the accessories, including a custom kydex sheath, Larger model classic Carhartt backpack to replace the one I’ve been carrying for years, gift cards and cash from the in-laws which I spent on stuff from 80% arms.

    Wife got a bunch of chick stuff and a Grogu (Baby Yoda) 80% AR receiver.

  5. My son gave me enough firearms cleaning supplies to last the rest of my life. He that and beef jerky were the only things for sale at the last gun show.

  7. Santa (me) gave me a West German Sig Sauer P220 in 9mm. Kind of a rare caliber for a P220. Only problem it’s sitting in my FFL’s safe as he’s out of town until January 4.

  8. Nothing gun related for the first time in years — unless you count novels written by gun guys. I’ve mostly got the accessories I want/need, and there are neither guns nor ammo to be had, so books and whiskey were the order of the day.

    • And now, after it’s all over, I realize that I could and should have asked Santa for a nice holster and wood grips for the 1980s S&W Model 64 I inherited from a great-uncle this year. (He had a LOT of money and collected a LOT of guns over the years; there were enough to go around for an entire, gigantic extended Mormon family.) Those would’ve been some very nice gun-type presents to get.

      Your comment reflects my situation pretty much to a tee — although I got videos instead of books and a huge basket of snacks (crackers, beef jerky, chocolate bars, Good-&-Plenty) instead of whiskey.

      I suppose, just for giggles, I might wander into my local gun store and see if they have any rifle ammunition — I could use a few more boxes of a certain caliber.

  9. Doesn’t really matter when tards are buying 1k primers for $250. Guns are just paper weights after the ammunition runs out. Yes, some people actually shoot their guns. Alot. Or used to lol

  10. I got a 1958 Colt Official Police in great condition with original grips numbered to the gun! Who says the big Red Menace isn’t thoughtful??

  12. My wife got me a Ruger wrangler in the copper coat, my brother got me an old single shot 410 and I picked up a Ruger charger just waiting on that adapter and brace to come in the mail

  14. My son got me tools & knives. My wife wouldn’t know what to get so I got socks…connected with my errant 43year old son. Discussed getting his rights restored after a BS felony. Had a great dinner. Nice day!

  15. I got myself an iPhone 12 pro. And a few extra pounds. I couldn’t get the #1 item on my wish list, an AR-15 of my liking at a reasonable price, Santa isn’t paying $3,000 for a gun that should cost $1,000.

      • He will when my previous phone was four years old, I need a that kind of phone for work, android’s security is crap compared to apple’s ios

        • Hopefully you already have an AR of some sort (or other acceptable magazine fed autoloader AK,Mini,M1A,FAL,Tavor, etc.). If you don’t, and still spend $1200 on a phone, your priorities are pretty badly out of line at this point in time. 😉👍

  17. Last September, Santa kindly placed an order for a piston driven upper for my kids’ suppressed coyote hunting AR. Optics planet says it is scheduled to ship this coming July. It will be like having Christmas twice this year 🙂

  19. 5.56 Can launching blanks for my F5 can cannon. Atlantic wall blanks are pretty much at normal price still.

    I have found that the CMMG AR -15 .22 conversion bolt will not fit in the chamber of the can cannon, so no shooting nail gun blanks.

    I have also found that the muzzle flash in the can launcher will usually light a fuse to a smoke bomb if you drill a hole in a 16 ounce screw top aluminum beer can and hot glue the fuse tail out with about 1.5” showing. Don’t try that at home unless you’re a professional redneck and absolutely never ever never even think about lighting anything other than smoke because the alphabet bois will put you on the very naughty list.

    • I have a golf ball launcher for mine. May be a novelty, but still crazy fun to blow massive holes through 7/16 OSB with cheap used golf balls. Those high power Atlantic blanks work great.

  20. Got my little guys 100 rounds of 25-10 rimfire. Still in great condition for their 4th generation hand me down rifle. Wife gave me 1000 rounds of 556 she got somewhere. And a tactacam 5.0

    • Tile is one helluva lot easier to clean sticky tree sap goo off of than carpet.

      Talk about a first-world problem… 😉

  22. Got a Vortex Viper HD 20 to 60 power 85mm spotting scope! Very nice glass to let me see where the bullets hit without walking downrange after every shot. No guns or ammo, but I’m happy.

  23. A box of 12 Guage target loads & a box of clay targets. I Haven’t gone skeet shooting in a long time. Just need to make some time to take my niece & nephew target shooting.

  24. Nothing weapon related because there’s nothing to be had.
    Did get a Weber charcoal cooking cookbook, a humidor for cigars, a pretty cool shirt and a few other things.
    Oh, 6 inches of snow and the snowblower took a dump. Could’ve used that for a present. Way to old to shovel it so it stays as is.

  28. Well got 2 new toys early: Centennial edition Winchester 94 Ranger 30-30 and a AR-15 that my nephew sold me for $300.00 (an uncle special) !

  31. Was lucky Feb 2020 , any day XMas , got Ruger 22lr / 22 wmr single shot , Kimber .380 micro , ammo go with them .

  32. Theres a bunch of good stuff in the trash dumpsters now, Turkey bones, ham bones,, tater skins, egg shells,carrot peelings,all kinda of cans and wrappers to lick. And if memory serves me right it only gets better as time goes on. Cold weathers commin , that extra fats gonna help.

    • Eat well, Marsupial One, you can have the roast beef scraps in our can, as well… 🙂

  33. Santa left me a GRS Bifrost composite stock for one of my long guns, a pair of scope rings, and some 175 grain BTHP’s for my loading press.

  34. No goodies this year as there are no little ones to spoil. Just Family and a fine meal. To cold to go outside, but as soon as it warms up we’ll all go to the range for the annual Christmas Blast fest. Have a Joyous Holiday and Be Safe Out There. Peace be with You.

    • Try old grandad bourbon instead. Basil Hayden is same distiller (Beam), same grain bill but bottled at 80 proof instead of 100 like old grandad. You’re basically paying a lot more for the fancy bottle of watered down whiskey.

      Raymond bishop Hayden was the one who started old granddad. And his grand dad was Basil Hayden. I hope you enjoy it either way.

        • Sorry you think I’m wrong but I just confirmed what I said via the internet in case I was mistaken. Both my neighbors and a cousin work at Beam Clermont, one neighbor is in management and she’s in a position to know so I’m happy to check on anything you can point me to where I’m wrong.

        • Calling Basil Hayden a “fancy bottle of watered down whiskey” is wrong and anybody that knows their whiskey would agree. There’s a little more to it than that.

        • What people that “know their whiskey” disagree? You’re still not saying where I’m wrong. Is this something you think you know because you’ve had one or both? Old granddad will be harsher until you add branch water to get it to 80 proof. If you could taste the difference between barrels aged top or edges of the same warehouse as central barrels with not even an age statement on the bottle I would be suitably impressed, but realize over 99.999% of the population can’t

          I always get a kick out of people that think they know their whiskeys. I have approximate 40 bottles of bourbon with some whiskey in my bar and I have never met a “connoisseur” that could accurately identify more than a couple out of ones they claim to be familiar with in a blind taste.

  37. I asked for nothing being this lousy times for gun buying. However my son gave me a revolver…..a Thunderstruck. Yup, it is a totally impractical pistol with its only possible value being something different and fun to shoot a few rounds with at a very short range. (Its a double barrel 22 mag with a 20+ lb trigger). So the gun has little value, the time at the range with my son, however is priceless.

  39. A reinhart-fagen semi inletted rem 700 stock that one of my sons picked up in a gunshop in Montana over the summer… gorgeous. feathered walnut,. AAA claro maybe? I bet he had a hard time keeping that secret! Ought to keep me busy for a long time. Happy Holidays to all of you, and hopefully the coming year is good to us all.

  41. Early Christmas present was a busted hot water pipe in the slab of the house. So, tore up ceilings, a whole lot of PEX run overhead, bypassing and abandoning original pipe. Job finished late on December 23.

    At least it all fit on the Cabelas/Bass Pro Club MasterCard. So all them thousands of dollars got me some points back.

    • That sucks, having dealt with plumbing problems and other building Issues in my past, I feel your pain. . Wife got me a new tool box for the new shop (second shop) that I just completed the wiring today. Sucks that with Biden taking office, I don’t see a bright forecast for the future, liquidating assets , vehicles, boats and motorcycles before he taxes me to death. Downsizing for the next few years, thinking of moving to Wyoming where they are tax friendly before the communists attempt to take it all…. . .

  42. Overall, I think the current buying frenzy in guns is a good thing because more guns in circulation will make any new gun control laws harder to pass and to enforce. As an individual however, I don’t think now is a good time to get new guns unless you absolutely need them. I would love to have an M-1 Garand, a Ronin Operator, an 1895 SBL, a GP100 and a Super Redhawk in .44 Mag among other things. But since I already have other guns that can fill the same roles, I can wait until the price goes down.

  43. A 12 gauge autoloader,
    A .45 longslide, with laser sighting,
    An Uzi 9 mm,
    A phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range.

    I’m ready to terminate with extreme prejudice…..

  48. There was no tree, though there is a live one on the balcony, with ornaments hanging from the roof edge, garland, and one color changing lightbulb. Firearm related gifts included: Two pair of new Hatch duty gloves, and two (1 black and 1 tan) Bianchi 1.25 leather belts. Best of all, everything was at least 30% off the regular prices! First actual fun belts I’ve ever owned; the price was right, and they seem like excellent quality. To top it off, they were not made in China, and the buckles are brass. As 2020 comes to a close, here’s hoping the Senate does not FLIP to Democrat control! 2020 was challenging enough, we cannot have 2021 become even more challenging.
