    • Once again Gocks gotta try what the 1911’s dual purpose was meant for

    • Please don’t give Gaston ideas. I never want to see a Glock revolver.

(Although, I do have an LCR and that’s pretty darn close.)

      • Well S,R&Co kind of has the rugged, reliable, utilitarian revolver market cornered, but I’m sure Gaston could make them uglier.

      • I’ve often thought that the one thing that the Glock line needs is a semi-auto carbine in both 9mm and 45 ACP. The Glock people could also design and market a select fire full auto sub gun for police and military work. Using Glock mags of course.

        • ” The Glock people could also design and market a select fire full auto sub gun for police and military work.”

They already have the G-18, select-fire in 9mm.

If Glock ever made a conversion kit built along the lines of the MechTech :

          http://mechtechsys.com/

I’d be all over that like a Democrat on public tax money.

8-inch barrel, threaded, and an arm brace, it would be the cat’s ass…

        • Didn’t Ruger come out with a PCC? In 9mm and will accept glock mags. Seems to fit the bill. How you doin’ Tom in ore?

  1. Well since we beat that joke to death right off the bat (bravo by the way, seriously, really strong work there), ditching dem polymer sights. And if you say anything other than sights you’re wrong.

    • Sights and trigger are a resasonable upgrade for 95% of weapons out there. Seems logical.

I’ll never understand why we can’t have simple weapons with good sights and trigger. I’m cool with plain Jane everything else.

    • Grip reduction and stipple job…..guess that makes me wrong; pleased to meet ya. Then….take that gun and trade it in for a Sig.

  2. Better sights. For me, the trigger is sufficient for maintaining MoA (minute of @$$hole) accuracy out to 7 yd. Beyond that, I’d reach for a long gun, perhaps something in 5.45×39.

  3. Night sights and nothing else, and this with all my handguns other than sights I never upgrade anything.
I am not a Glock fanboy by the way, I also have and I enjoy other guns from other manufacturers.

  4. Glock perfection is a myth. It’s like saying “AR” (insert favorite brand here) perfection. It’s a great platform to build on.

I did ameriglo sights and a TALON grip and left it at that. G 19 gen 5 now feels great in my hand and I can get the front sight immediately.

I don’t care about looks and I’m not shooting competitions. I want something that’s comfortable to conceal and goes band every time by booger finger hits the bang button. For those needs, it works.

  5. Extended clip. Don’t forget to practice sweeping off the safety. Mine is in .9mm. Fully semi-auto. Might add the thing that goes up. Maybe a couple bumpstocks and a pistol bayonet. Hydrodip cerakote it zombie green with Punisher 1911 grips. Stipple the sights. Swap in a Desert Eagle upper in 45-70. Thinking of adding a turbo dual exhaust holographic red dot with bacon and extra cheese. Mine shoots a little left. Probably need to adjust the idle, get a new MAF sensor. Put some grip tape and Line-X on that bad boy, carry it in my Don Hume custom IWB/shoulder holster combo. It’s 100% Peruvian virgin cowhide kydex in faux carbon fiber with silver-plated real gold adjustment screws. I only shoot and carry Black Talon hollow-point cop-killer armor-piercing dum dum rounds. I call it Fist of Vengeance. Wrote it on the slide in Sharpie. Badass. #pewlife.

  6. Mine was a Viridian C5L-R and about ten minutes with a dremel to solve the only problem I’ve ever had with the G26. Fits perfectly and has held up just fine through several years of 9mm and .40 recoil (second upgrade was a G27 slide). Now if only stupid Streamlight hadn’t ruined all my hard work with their stupid TLR-6…

  7. A holster, followed by a laser + light combo.

If I had an unlimited budget, I would get some lonewolf stuff. New slide, holographic sight, metal recoil spring…

And my favorite… an 80% selector switch.

  8. My G26 has a Ghost connector and aftermarket sights. And Pierce grip extensions. And it’s for sale at my LGS.

You can make a Glock trigger suck less, but you can’t make it not suck.

  9. Grip Force Adapter. Fixes the ridiculous grip angle and provides a beavertail. Less necessary since the 4th generation models, but I haven’t bought any since then (and likely won’t again). After this, sights (any sights), a 3 1/2# trigger bar, and a 25 cent trigger job.

    • Night Fission has SOLID stuff and awesome prices to boot. I just looked the other day and they now have red and blue front dots. Crazy stuff.

  10. Glock upgrades? I upgraded my G45 to 10mm, and I upgraded my G30 to .460 Rowland, and then I put them away in the safe and I carry my Springfields. I got the wife a G43 because she can only rack Glock slides, but other than that I don’t see buying more Glocks when the XD outdoes it in every way, especially with the grip safety which prevents “Glock leg.”

  11. Would you buy a car that required extensive modifications to configure it to meet your requirements? Didn’t think so. You would buy the one that had what you wanted and drive it off the lot. Now tell me again why you bought that G19?

    • I’ve modified my glocks, my 1911’s, my XDm, my Taurus g2c…. generally I don’t think it’s a problem with the gun… I think it’s a problem with me.

Having said that ghost trigger connector, tritium sights, steel guide rod/spring, cool backplate… done

    • Are you serious? Gotta do the triple-s: shocks, springs, sways on just about everything this side of a “real” sportscar. Even if you don’t care about that, there’s still wheels/tires/brakes even if your only criteria is “cheap” and “available at the local Sam’s Club.”

      • Got to swap out the engine with a Hemi. I mean, what’s the purpose of all that work if you still max out your 0-60 time at 15 seconds?

    • Because Toyota doesn’t make pistols.

Seriously, plenty of Harley Davidson owners modify their bikes, big time. That doesn’t mean Harleys suck. You’re not fixing it, you’re personalizing it.

    • Never bought a car/truck that didn’t need something. Factory tires for example are almost always garbage. They put on soft tires so it “rides quiet” during the test drive but perform terrible in the real world.

On a truck the first thing I do is go to the tire dealership and get rid of the P rated crap-tires that puncture when you drive over a twig and put on decent E load rated tires.

On my Mustang the first thing I did was ditch the garbage tires and get some Z rated Eagles.

  12. Since my Glock is a 1st gen bought many years ago (before the war), the only upgrade I bought for it was a Hogue neoprene grip sleeve as the early Glocks were rather slick to hold if your hands had any oil, sweat, or other moisture on them. I haven’t really felt the need to do anything else as it works as is to my satisfaction.

  13. My first choice would be: A “Fun Switch” installation to turn it into a GLOCK 18. (Full auto makes *everything* better, after all).

My more realistic choice: Probably a trigger upgrade. You can’t do much about my biggest Glock dislike (the grip angle), but addressing the spongy trigger is easily done and not very expensive.

    • You can buy a polymer 80% non-glock glock with a 1911 grip angle. Picked up one today at the knob creek machine gun shoot. Fully semi automatic assault ghost gun high capacity weapon of war.

The full electric rock and roll is super easy on a glock, just waiting for the day it becomes legal or I no longer worry about legality.

  14. I have a 2nd Gen G19. Only thing I’ve done to it is replace the stock sights with night sights.

    My G26 , same thing.

My G43 had a TERRIBLE, AWFUL trigger. I swapped in a Ghost connector, and lower power striker and firing pin safety springs. I had to because the stock trigger was affecting my accuracy.

  15. The best answer is – just the sights.

The only other acceptable answer is a threaded barrel for suppressor use.

Glocks don’t need aftermarket stuff. If you have to have a better trigger, buy something with a better trigger from the factory (those aftermarket triggers just reduce reliability anyway, even if the pull is better)

  16. See, this is what makes a Glock such a great gun. The ability to modify it with parts so you can turn a Glock INTO a good gun. Unlike S&W….Ruger….Sig….which are good guns out of the box.

  17. 6.5 creedmoor conversion, make sure it has an inline recoil path, a bayonet/chainsaw/light/laser/bottle opener on the rail, a mrds, a better trigger, and GRIPZONE!

  18. Real sights
Extended slide release and take down levers (names may vary)
    Ghost Edge connector.
Ammo. Lots and lots of ammo.

  19. There was a reference to comparing Glocks to Harley-Davidsons, I had three Harleys and if they had been built with the quality and reliability of a Glock, I would still have them. The Harleys are gone but I still have the Glocks. I tend to keep things that work, without constantly having to work on them, I now have Yamaha’s and Honda’s and much like the Glock’s, I don’t have to work on them either!

  20. I’ve had it for a couple decades at least — actually have forgotten when I bought it — and never upgraded anything. Even the stock sights do the job well enough for me.

  21. The trigger upgrade is the most common Glock upgrade but I have it on good authority that your fine motor skills go out the window when the SHTF. So you won’t notice the nice smooth trigger anyway. And that audible click that informs you that the trigger reset? Well, unless you walk around with ear protection on your hearing will be compromised and you won’t hear it.

Shooters are like weekend golfer who think if Tiger, Phil or DJ use it will make them better. My son qualified for the US Amatuer with a Top Flight Gamer. He figured he wasn’t going to make it so he did it on a lark. So much for the $50 box of Pro Vs.

Amatuer tip:. You aren’t Jerry Miculek. The stock Glock trigger and sights are good enough for self defense. But it’s a free country; if you want to spend Sig Prices for Glock have at it.

  22. Sold My G20 and bought a Delta Elite. Best upgrade I ever made.

Otherwise, the best upgrade was a 3.5 lb disconector. Trigger was still “sqooshy” but at least it was lighter.

  23. I’d like to upgrade my Glock with nickel plated frame and slide, some fine engraving on the frame and slide, some mastodon ivory as grips and a nice single action trigger breaking at about 2lbs. a single stack magazine so it points a little better. And a thumb and grip safety.

  24. Aftermarket sights. I like a black rear with a green fiber front sight.

Taran Tactical is the best I’ve used, have those on my 17. Speer Gold Dot 124 gr +P and my stout 124 gr poly-coated load shoot exactly to point of aim at 25 yards with Taran Tactical sights.

  25. Sold my G43 only because my old hands found it a bit too recoil(ly). Kept my G42, but many of its add-ons worked also on the 43. Added (1) Arachnigrip slide racking assist for old hands. (2) Glock Store “t”-handle for added rack assist. (3) Talon rubber grip for old hands’ comfort plus good grip. (4) Trijicon HD XR night sights (orange dot) to help my old eyes. (5) Strike Industries’ +2 magazine extension to accommodate my pinky finger, add round count, and improve grip control. This made my 42 my preferred carry. Various other things tried all failed to add to control, grip, trigger, or accuracy for me.

    • I got a 42 as soon as they came out. I tested a 43 but kept my 42, it’s just a little smaller and more controllable.

If carrying it in a IWB holster I typically have a mag with a Taran Tactical +2 extension on it in the gun, and my reload has been an ETS 9 round mag I’ve had for a year or so now without any issues. If ankle carrying or pocket carrying I use a mag with a Taran Tactical +1 baseplate in the gun, as it is more concealable.

I’ve always carried Hornady Custom 90 gr XTP in it, have over 500 of those through the gun now with zero issues, shoots to point of aim also. The 42 (in my opinion) runs better with ammo loaded up to full power, not the stuff that has reduced power to be more controllable in a P3AT/LCP type pistol.

  26. I had a 4 pound trigger installed. It’s all I’ve ever needed. My Glock runs any ammo, under any conditions, and shoots very accurately.
