“This is in many ways intuitive: People of every country get into arguments and fights with friends, family, and peers. But in the US, itโ€™s much more likely that someone will get angry at an argument and be able to pull out a gun and kill someone.

“Or in the case of Pittsburgh, America does not have a monopoly on bigots. What is unique about the US is that it makes it so easy for these bigots to obtain a gun.” – German Lopez inย The Pittsburgh synagogue shooting is another example of Americaโ€™s gun problem

  1. And, thankfully, guns are _never_ use by people to defend against such attacks. Whew! Wrapped up that argument. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • In Birmingham this past Sat. , a good guy with a gun, stopped a bad guy with a gun at a McDonalds. Gun grabbers can KMA.

“A brave dad armed with a pistol stopped what could have been a mass shooting Saturday inside an Alabama McDonald’s when he took down a masked gunman who had stormed in and opened fire.

The unidentified father was leaving the establishment with his sons when a masked man walked into the Birmingham fast-food restaurant and started shooting, WBRC-TV reported. The father returned fire and, during the ensuing shootout, the gunman, the father and one of the man’s teenage sons were struck, according to the station.

The gunman, who was not identified, later died of his injuries. The other two injuries were not considered life-threatening.”

      • You will kiss their a** sooner or later trust me. Bump stock and gun grabbing laws voted in FL the โ€œgunshine stateโ€. You better spend all your savings on some more AR and ammo Cletus, you might even want to sell a kidney for it.

      • “You will kiss their a** sooner or later trust me.”

        *chortle*.

        Yeah, right.

And Hillary can’t lose, and Trump will never be president, and even if he does get in, he won’t be able to keep any of his promises, and, and, and…

Kiss *my* ass, ‘Bernie’, and every other supporter of President Trump.

And I’ve got something you can suck on…

        *snicker* ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. If I were a member of a group with the historical issues that the Jews have had, I think I’d be armed personally. The Jews have had a good history of people in authority having a monopoly of force working out well………………..

    • If they had been armed they would have experience blietzgriek, good luck with your rifle or pistol vs a tank and a bunch of SS,letโ€™s say than less Jews would have died in camps.

      • What a foolish argument. “Good luck shouting at a tank when it’s there to blow you up” “Good luck with a news story when a tank is there to blow you up”. Guess we don’t need hardly any rights at all right?!?

Guess what bud, Germany didn’t start with tanks. It started with Brown Shirts going door to door. Guns would have stopped that and Hitler would have had less power.

      • Every war was stopped by tanks? Do I have that right Mr. Pittsburgh? Funny how those Afghans keep fighting on and on after 18 years. I don’t think they have one tank in the entire country. They do have motivation and rifles. Despite there ffd up cause that’s all you need if you have some grit.

  3. unlike in countries like Russia and Iran where you can say whatever you want in public without fear of the government kicking your door down.

  4. Seems to me that the majority of the guns are on the rights side of politics, and the majority of the bigotry and violence is on the left side of politics.

Makes for a tough argument there.

On the upside, the right has recognized the rise of the next Nazi party, (the progressive) socialists) and are beginning to fight them in the streets rather than repeating their usual position of principled surrender.

    • Itโ€™s interesting that I see things completely opposite than โ€œMack Bolanโ€, yet we both seem to be reasonable people ( and regular readers of ttag)

      • Oooookayyy….. aannddd? What’s your point? Mark made his, but you just said words without saying anything.

      • Meh. Confirmation bias is old hat is the psychology literature. I doubt one could even get a paper published on it today, for failure to break any new ground.

Now, if you have actual objective data on this subject to back up your individual and inherently flawed personal perception, then you’d have something interesting.

    • Perhaps the violence may be skewed more to the left but the bigotry I believe is spread evenly across the board…focusing on different things and issues but even all the same. Thatโ€™s the human condition.

  5. So, you want to give me some statistics about how many times a year a normal argument escalates into a gunfight, or ever did? That would be none, right? Which makes you a liar and a demagogue. STFU

    • Note he doesn’t say that the arguing people actually DO pull out a gun and kill someone, merely that they are ABLE TO. That claim is quite true, and, with a negligibly small number of exceptions, they choose not to act on that capability.

    • It actually occurs with some distressing regularity–outside of bars at closing time on a Saturday night in violence prone neighborhoods.

    • It actually occurs with some distressing regularity–outside of bars at closing time on a Saturday nights in violence prone neighborhoods.

      • Not really. I happens to, at most, 0.003% of the population each year. (It’s only that high if every single gunshot death in the country is the result of an out-of-control argument.)

  6. I’ve owned guns for 30 years, carry every day, and I’ve never drawn down on some one because I was mad. Methinks this German Lopez guy is projecting a bit.

(and a side point, that picture is not flattering at all)

    • He does kinda look like Stan Laurel (minus the hair), doesn’t he?

I intuitively sense that with his little knowing grin this lad intuitively thinks he will be justice minister in the new democratic progressive parliamentary government that replaces the current constitutional republic someday soon (in his dreams) to keep all of us ignorant and inferior proles in line.

      • His title will be People’s Commissar for Justice and Re-education.

So his argument is too many people owning too many guns. And the solution is?

  7. Hey! Soy boy. Got some statistics? You know, like FACTS to back up your ‘intuitive’ ideas. And that’s all they are pal. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve found something to be intuitive is so so wrong. Like how lowering taxes can actually increase tax revenues. That’s a fact that been proven time and time again yet Dems (ppl I’m sure you’re familiar with) continue to refuse to accept it.

Here’s some FACTS; people who own guns are much less violent than those that don’t. Many times the gun used by ppl is one that has been stolen or ‘borrowed’. Concealed carriers also are even MORE law abiding than those that just own them. That’s because they value that right and take care not to do stuff that will get it taken away from them. (even tho it’s a right, it’s treated like a privilege, go figure).

So, so many other things that seem intuitively obvious to the most casual observer turn out to be WRONG. Wrong and Wrong headed because so many ppl refuse to believe that their intuition is full of beans.

So before you spout off about how intuitive something is with all your lengthy experience guiding your judgement (how old are you? 25?) you ought to do some actual like RESEARCH and find out what FACTS there are out there to support or deny your assumptions.

    Thanx bye.

  8. Most of us hear/see the word “bigot”, and we think of actual real bigots, like the recent Pittsburgh gunman, people like Louis Farrakhan, etc.

I’d betcha a dollar this soy boy considers anyone right of Bernie to be a “bigot”.

  9. It’s projection. Now I’m not making gross generalizations, but I have noticed that is is more likely that people on the progressive side are the ones who get worked up into a lather during an argument. I’ve gotten into plenty of those arguments and these people indeed get to the point of shouting and working themselves into a frenzy. They are scared of the presence of a gun because in their mind, they could see themselves drawing said gun against someone they don’t agree with.

  10. 1. It’s Vox, sort of like the Huffington Post run by Chris Griffin of Family Guy.
    2. It’s a lot harder to suppress speech here with the jihadi’s veto. Europeans pee their pants at the idea of saying anything which might offend islamists or violent leftists.

      • You can probably bad-mouth Jesus, Buddha or anyone else…but not that pedophile (by definition) Mohammed…because they get mad and blow things up and kill people…being the religion of peace and all…SMDH and ROFL

      • I am sure that some of the countries in Europe have these laws, but I doubt that most of Europe has them – does the magazine “Charlie Hebdo” come to mind?

  11. Oh. And what’s even MORE annoying than a screed filled with opinion guided by zero experience but that ppl with so little experience somehow manage to get their misguided views published.

Try living some life before passing judgments. Try doing some research and keep your personal likes/dislikes out of your writing.

That’s what a true journalist does. I know that’s not the standard these days but ppl who are called journalists now are about to bankrupt the entire industry so soon only those who actually ARE journalists will find jobs. You, sir, need to shape up before that day comes. And yes get another picture where you don’t look like the smug smarmy dill weed that you seem to be in your writing.

    • There are no true journalists anymore, not on either side of the aisle. If a person was a true journalist, you wouldn’t have any idea what their political bent is. I can’t think of one, anywhere, working for any source that fits the bill of non-partisan.

When Trump said that the news media was the enemy of the American people, he was right. They are tearing the country apart. Deliberately and gleefully.

      • More correctly, the major media in America is the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party/socialist progressive/communists.

      • “There are no true journalists anymore, not on either side of the aisle.”

There never were “true journalists”. From the beginning, newspapers, broadsides, handbills were decidedly partisan. “The power of the press belongs to he who owns one” (often attributed to WR Hearst). Owners of news outlets are people. People have prejudices. Without some sort of omnipotent, cosmic judge in place to discipline “journalists”, objectivity in news organs could not, did not and cannot exist.

There was once a purported “golden era” of objective journalism, but no one can cite the specific dates, and “objective” even then was subjective.

        • “โ€œThe power of the press belongs to he who owns oneโ€ (often attributed to WR Hearst).”

You know, the political Right has as many billionaires than the left.

Considering how so many newspapers are in dire financial shape these days, why aren’t our side actively buying these newspapers and staffing the newsrooms with an actual balance of reporters? I’d be willing to invest, and I bet a lot of others would even if it wouldn’t be very profitable…

        • “You know, the political Right has as many billionaires than the left.”

Interesting, but not relevant. No one who is not a billionaire really knows how billionaires think. They don’t really relate to “our” world, because they build alternate realities to live in.

“…why arenโ€™t our side actively buying these newspapers and staffing the newsrooms with an actual balance of reporters? ”

setting aside the financial realities of print media, prejudiced people would be deciding what an “actual balance of reporters” means (as they do today). And you have to take into account that there are numerous media tilted left, but few tilted the other way. Why is that? The media market on the right is not saturated, as is the market on the left. Yet, no prominent right-leaning person with money wants to compete against the left. Maybe we need to take a hint from Fox News – owned by liberal Australians, significant funding from Arab business. Have you not noticed the slow shift to more alignment with the lame stream press? It didn’t start with Trump.

        • Good point. Indeed, there probably never was a halcyon day of impartial journalism. Maybe I’m just disgusted that the biases are so overt. Or maybe they are only so overt because the internet has allowed the creation of opposing views to the liberal media machine. I dunno. Either way, I don’t like it.

        • “Maybe Iโ€™m just disgusted that the biases are so overt.”

Yes, the veil has been rent, and the illusion exposed.

I don’t like it either, but we were amazingly comfortable with biases before the parting of the curtain.

  12. I guess said bigot couldn’t…ya know…run people over with a truck or blow them up. Or stab the senior citizen’s. Nah never happens. I do dissent from the “guns don’t escalate chit” narrative. Ever been to the Southside/Westside of Chiraq?!? Dem boyz ain’t polite society-or legal.

    • Typical of such polemics, the analysis focuses on “gun deaths” (not specifically gun homicides), rather than concerned with deaths overall, except the comprasion of developed countries which conveniently omits Russia, Estonia, Brazil, and Mexico.

Should be an interesting test case to see what happens to Brazil’s murder rate with a pro-gun President.

        • Focussing only on “developed” countries is indeed a typical scheme to throw out the majority of countries with strict gun laws and higher murder rates. Implying that residents of less developed countries are naturally more murderous somehow doesn’t count as shamefully elitist and prejudiced when gun grabbers do it.

Russia, Brazil, Mexico, and Estonia make at least some list of “developed” countries, as noted in this article (which uses the magic word “nearly” to indicate the U.S. as #1 in the headline, even though it’s really only #5). But, they are absent from the list presented by Vox; surely an innocent oversight on Mr. Lopez’s part.

          https://www.rawstory.com/2013/09/u-s-murder-rate-higher-than-nearly-all-other-developed-countries-fbi-data/

  13. I wish Americans Jews would learn from their Israeli brothers and sisters and carry a Bible in one hand and an Uzi in the other. But you can’t carry around a machine gun fortunately in the United States. Too many “gun owners” only want them for rich people. The poor can’t have a rapid fire weapon.

So they’ll have to just settle for a Bible in one hand and a semi-automatic weapon in the other. That would be a great Improvement over the current certain circumstances.

      • Micheal Savage, Jewish radio host says he carries a bible and a gun. That’s good enough for me.
See his book “God, Faith and Reason”.

        • Savage is not an Israeli. Israelis are still waiting for the Messiah because Jesus was a fraud. And Israelis donโ€™t accept a doctrine of sola scripture. In addition, they have written AND word of mouth traditions โ€” one cannot be understood without the other. To them, someone who thinks they can understand God by the Bible alone is a well-meaning fool.

        • Savage is not our friend. He openly advocates for a blanket assault weapon ban, magazine capacity limitations, universal background checks, and firearms registration. Youtube: “savage gun control” and behold his elitism.

        • California Richard
I’m aware of Micheal Savages support of AR-15s bans, even tho he owns one. Very sad. But have you worked to vote out of office the anti civil rights open homosexuals? Like Tom Ammiano, a proud gay white man, who supports the Mulford Act. Who said black gay people should not open carry guns?

      • To be fair, the Old Testament are Jewish books. But we’re picking hairs here and getting away from the original posters point, which I think is basically be pious and defend yourself.

      • And the Old Testament is a Jewish and Christian thing. As I understand it (and I am not a religious person), the Old Testament has a greater scope than the Torah, as it reflects Jewish history and the prophets who lived after the death of Moses.

      • Yes it is a Christian thing. Except for the fact that Jesus was a Jew from the line of David who fulfilled the prophecies. So yeah it’s a “Christian thing,” and I would venture to say, a “Jewish thing.”

  14. True. But a free expression does the same thing. Might as well throw out the 1st with the 2nd.

    I guess I shouldn’t be giving them ideas…

  15. BULLSHIT, THIS IS NOTHING BUT PROPAGANDA FROM THE ANTI-AMERICAN LEFT TO REMOVE THE SAFETY OF A ARMED CITIZEN.. THE GUNS HERE ARE TO KEEP THE PEOPLE FREE AND OUT FROM UNDER THE COMMUNIST BANNER , socialism will not be allowed to get a foothold in this country..

    • The guns are here because Americans realized that a country with a crown head could come and try to take over again. There was no communism then. They also set church and state apart, so one could not rule the other. Guns allowed the U.S. to grow in size, also allowed us to keep what we took.

And now, generations later, guns in private hands help to keep our property safe, unless the government wants it.

  16. I completely agree with <input/liberal/= "German Lopez". What he said about <input/item/= "guns" is exactly how I think. But all of you here at <input/targetgroup/="TTAG" are a bunch of racists and can't understand so I won't even bother trying to explain it to you Neanderthal bigots. Orange Man = bad.

    • What?????
From what I could understand of that gibberish,
You think owning a gun makes you a bigot.
You think the author of this opinion piece, and that’s all it is, is intelligent.
And the orange man, I’m assuming you mean trump is bad.
Well you are wrong on all counts. We are not bigots, this person is an idiot, and what ever his faults trump has done more for the people of this country it than the last moron ever did. Or Hillary could even lie about doing.

      • Recent internet meme that basically attached to what would have previously been called sheeple or useful idiots. He is mocking that group by demonstrating the lack of critical thought. I likely missed a bunch but that should cover enough of it.

      • You do know about the NPC meme, right?

The guy’s post is entirely satirical.

Cliff’s Notes Version: NPC means “Non Playable Character”, which is a video game term for those computer-controlled characters you interact with from time to time. They are coded to seem like people, but they only have the same 5-10 responses.

The current fun is that progressives are NPCs. When faced with a situation, they have the same 5-10 responses.

        “Bigot”
        “Toxic Masculinity”
        “Nazi”
        (pop culture analogy)
        #resist
        invoke snopes/vox/HuffPo/CNN
        “Orange Man Bad”

        • I completely disagree with <input/target/= "pg2". What you said about <input/item/= "autobot profile" is exactly the opposite of how I think. But all of you here at <input/targetgroup/="TTAG" are a bunch of racists and can't understand so I won't even bother trying to explain it to you Neanderthal bigots. Orange Man = bad.

      • I completely disagree with <input/target/= "Ironhead". What you said about <input/item/= "guns" is exactly the opposite of how I think. But all of you here at <input/targetgroup/="TTAG" are a bunch of racists and can't understand so I won't even bother trying to explain it to you Neanderthal bigots. Orange Man = bad.

        • Orange Man Bad Orange Man Bad Orange Man Bad Orange Man Bad Or

          GENERAL SYSTEM FAILURE

DEFRAG REBOOT DRIVE C: RUN COMMUNISTDEMOCRAT.EXE

        • Above poster is correct. NPC meme is fascist dehumanizing tactic used by russian Nazi bots. NPC meme users are racist. Orange man bad.

  17. “But in the US, itโ€™s much more likely that someone will get angry at an argument and be able to pull out a gun and kill someone.”

Then I recommend you watch your mouth. You can’t get shot in an argument you aren’t having.

      • “He canโ€™t control his emotions and he feels that if he had a gun, heโ€™d shoot someone during an argument.”

That may be his projected dream, but more likely having a gun in hand would cause him to piss himself.

      • pod : it’s projection, yes. But it’s also “I want to be able to run my mouth and not fear death just because I’m a fascist! (sic)”
…and yes, if you’d just keep your fascist tendencies to yourself, if you stopped getting in shouting arguments in people’s faces, if you stopped throwing bags of $#ยก+ and pยก$$ at “bigots”, if you stopped trying to push “Nazis” around (because your way is obviously the only way), then you’d have nothing to fear (except fear itself).

  18. A Jewish 2A group posted last Friday ref. CCW. to carry. Sat. a temple was shot up. Sunday the left says guns in houses of worship don’t belong.

  19. “This is in many ways intuitive” – translation: “Here’s some fear mongering bullshit I just made up”…

  20. Even if every single non-suicide gun death in the U.S. each year were the result of an argument that escalated and became deadly because of a gun (as this guy supposes), those events would still only represent about 0.003% of the guns in the U.S. and maybe 0.01% of the gun owners. This line of reasoning that it is the quantity, or availability, of guns that causes violence is just ridiculous. If there were any substance to it at all, we would have much more gun related violence. The 11,000 or so people who die each year in this country due to non-suicide gunshot wounds represent less than a half of a percent of the people who die. Falling down is more likely to kill someone. A heart attack is an order of magnitude more likely to kill someone.

A large segment of the various calls for gun control begin with some version of, “Clearly there is a huge problem that we must solve with gun control”. Whenever somebody goes there, challenge the premise. No there is not a huge problem! Small fractions of a percent of the population being involved in a type of event does not constitute a large problem that cries out for draconian federal intervention affecting the entire population.

  21. Easy to get? Try living (suffering) in a non free state, like commie kaifornia, New Jersey, Massachusetts, hell even Mexico. IT AIN’T SO EASY. And yet, criminals and nut jobs have no problem committing all sorts of crime and death.

  22. Vox reminds me of the anti civil rights elected homosexuals who hate guns in the hands of blacks who open carry in California. Ya, that’s right I said. Don’t like it? Then vote Tom Ammiano, a proud gay white man, and the other gay gun grabbers out of office in California.

    Repeal the Mulford Act.

  23. This article is just another excuse for Lopez to copy/paste the same info he’s presented over the past few years in prior articles he’s put on Vox. It’s taking advantage of this tragedy with some pretty lazy writing. Of course, it’s Vox…

“That doesnโ€™t mean that bigots and extremists will never be able to carry out a shooting in places with strict gun laws. Even the strictest gun laws canโ€™t prevent every shooting.”

All the more reason for a gay man like Lopez to seriously consider how he wants to defend himself and his husband. That would involve taking some of that responsibility yourself instead of just relying on the (fallible and corruptible) gov’t to do it for you.

  24. 325M people…400M+ guns…and only about 35,000 gun deaths a year (60% of which are suicides, BTW).
You would think…with all those people…and all those guns…that it would be millions dead each year by guns.
600,000+ by abortion…about 75,000 last year due to flu…couple hundred thousand by medical mistakes …couple hundred thousand each due to obesity and smoking related diseases…etc etc etc
Maybe if we had mandatory mental health screenings starting in grade school.
Oh yeah…the ACLU would pitch a fit…crazy people have rights, too.

    • Yes crazy people have rights too : be locked away from society where they can’t harm anyone , rights to treatment , rights to 3 meals a day , rights to a labotamy if need be. Remove the crazies , end the problem.

  25. So would anti-gun people feel better if bombs or poison gas were used…or if the doors were blocked and he burned the place down?
    I really wonder…
They never seem to blame the killer…they concentrate on the gun(s)…
No sense of personal responsibility it seems. Always have to deflect blame…

    • “They never seem to blame the killerโ€ฆthey concentrate on the gun(s)โ€ฆ”

They concentrate on the gun because it is perfectly logical to them…..if a gun is not available to carry out a crime, that contemplated crime will not happen. Proof? If a person commits a crime using a gun, then the presence of the gun makes the crime possible/likely. Therefore, ipse dixit, if the gun is not present, the crime is not possible. Remove guns and you remove crime. QED.

  26. Yeah, because there’s never been an act of terror in the US that was conducted with a weapon other than a gun. Not like some islamo-fascist a-holes destroyed several city blocks with commercial air liners or shredded dozens of people with pressure cookers full of explosives or anything.

  27. The simple fact remains- when you are in a circumstance where a gun would defend you and yours from harm, there really is no other effective substitute. If the left cared about victims, they would support deporting violent criminal illegal aliens. Instead, they want to import more and spread them throughout society. If the left cared about police abuse, they wouldn’t pass inane laws that have the police arresting people for something as innocuous as selling cigarettes out of the pack- laws which create the potential for meaningless confrontations with police which do nothing to make the average citizen safer.

ALL of those SHOUTING about denying everyone else their right to self-defense HAVE ARMED SECURITY.

  28. Kids these days !! Who tells them this nonsense , their leftist parents. Jews of all people , should want to own & want to carry a gun. Those that do not learn from history , are destined to repeat it. They escaped being wiped off the face of the earth because brave men ” with guns ” saved them from the Nazzi regime. One would think that the Jews , of all people , would get this !! Guns are tools . to be use against aggression from tyrants & bullies.

  29. Lopez doesn’t look German to me. He looks . . . Estupido.

Somebody please tell this moron about Charlie Hebdo in gun-free France. Or Bataclan. Or — oh, never mind. He’s just too dizzy to figure it out.

  30. For the sake of argument I am going to agree with Vox. So what do we do about it? There are 400 million guns floating around. You might be able to confiscate half of them. That leaves a couple of hundred million floating around. The genie is out of the bottle and you can’t put it back. Widespread gun ownership among law abiding citizens may be second best but it is probably the only way to limit the damage.

    • “For the sake of argument I am going to agree with Vox. So what do we do about it?”

Quite simple. You declare that government has an inherent interest in providing and maintaining the safety of its citizens, thus random checkpoints are permitted to search for deadly weapons, and that health, safety and code inspections are necessary to ensure homes with children do not have firearms available. Then government establishes that armed citizens present the high potential for insurrection, and government has an extreme interest in maintaining the union, thus dispossessing individuals of firearms; suppressing insurrection is a power delegated specifically delegated to the central government in the constitution. Preserving the union supersedes individual rights until peace and tranquility are restored.

      • And you still get only half the guns. When the Soviet Empire collapsed all sorts of weaponry came out of the woodwork, including mortars and machine guns. And private sector criminal’s didn’t have a problem obtaining firearms

    • Let us discuss what would actually happen if the police tried to confiscate guns.

The likelihood of being targeted for confiscation would be directly proportional to the melanin content of one’s skin.

  31. Because religious extremists have never gone on a shooting rampage in a country like France where guns are very illegal.

    • Nope, never, not once. Oh, except that one time. Oh, and that other time, and, oh yeah I forgot a couple more. Never mind – crazy religious extremists shot up France.

  32. Gahh….. I need help! Quickly! I clicked on the link and got the Vox Stupid all over me! How do I get it off! It burns!

    • Lava soap. That stuff takes off everything. Usually. I will admit, the Vox stupidity might be pushing it. Maybe try it with Dawn detergent and a good book reading to bolster your brain against the dumbness.

  33. Well, it’s partly true. Guns do make bigots, thugs, and unreasonable people far more violent. For this reason, Democrats shouldn’t have them. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  34. The article on Vox is a very carefully crafted piece of propaganda. They use a bunch of infographics to paint the USA as a hyper-violent society compared to Europe and even throw in a few Middle Eastern and Asian countries to seem balanced, but they ignore the higher levels of violence in many Central and South American countries, where legal weapons access is highly restricted. Fake news folks

  35. On ONE occasion, I was ‘Sunday punched’ in the side of the head by someone that I don’t particularly like during an argument. I was wearing my firearm. I did NOT draw MY weapon; I defended myself with my hands.

This VOX crap IS just more internet conjectural garbage.

  36. If people fear being shot for engaging in an argument, perhaps they should re-think their propensity for impoliteness (re: Heinlein)?

  37. One person’s opinion… Take suicides and drug/gangbanger gun “activities” out of the mix and US “shootings” become a non-issue.
