The state of Georgia has ordered a cease and desist order against a Woodstock school that took first and second-graders on a field trip to a gun shop that the owner of the facility called an “educational experience.”
Tammy Dorsten says she was just trying to give the first and second-grade students a history lesson when she took them to Hi-Caliber Firearms as part of an American History lesson. She says since the incident, her Facebook page has been flooded with criticism.
During a state investigation, the state said the academy was licensed as a private school for kindergarten through second grade. The investigation found the preschoolers were cared for in “an unlicensed space meant for a private school.”

Washington State Sheriff Placed On Leave After Video Shows Him Holding Gun On Motorcyclist
A troubling videotape of a King County sheriff’s detective holding a gun on a motorcyclist has resulted in his being placed on administrative leave. Alex Randall, the motorcyclist, posted the videotape that shows him pulling up to a stop line at a red light. The detective then walks up and points the gun at him. The King County Sheriff has apologized to Randall but the department is still refusing to release the name of the detective.
After the detective walks up, Randall put his hands up and said “don’t shoot.” The deputy does not identify himself in approaching Randall but indicates that Randall was allegedly speeding and and driving recklessly. That still does not explain the gun.

A gun owners group and others on social media reacted this week to news that a homeowner in Harvey-ravaged Corpus Christi, Texas, apparently took matters into his own hands against an alleged looter.
The suspect was coherent at the scene and was taken to Christus Spohn Hospital Shoreline for treatment, police said, but his medical condition early Wednesday was unknown.
Soon after the incident was reported, lobbying group Gun Owners of America took to Twitter to share the story.

Alarming statistics have surfaced pertaining to police members without firearm competency certificates who have been let loose on the streets.
According to Gauteng MEC for Community Safety, Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane’s response to a DA question in the Gauteng Legislature, 2 031 South African Police Service members without firearm compliance certificates are currently patrolling Gauteng’s streets.
Of the 2 031 active members without firearm compliance certificates, 627 are stationed in Tshwane. Ekurhuleni has 351, and Johannesburg has 196. The worst affected stations are Evaton with 45 and Sebokeng with 49 uncertified members. This means that these members are not supposed to be deployed outside the confines of the station as the risks and liability are enormous.

And what did we learn on the field trip? Cameras are a dangerous thing. Were there no photos, teach would have gotten a pass. Like all field trips, I’m sure there were permission slips involved, so it’s clearly idiots who don’t even have kids there raising the ruckus. Without photos, their flea-brains would have nothing to latch onto and rage about.
It does go to show just how many ‘open minded’ prudes view a gun store *exactly* the same as a normal person views a sex shop or strip club (i.e. their suitability for supervised visits by children)

Surprising him out of nowhere with a gun pointed at him in plain clothes is not a good idea. It could be interpreted in multiple ways, and cops don’t want it interpreted the wrong way.
Yeah, the cop accused the biker of running “100 mph”, but no citation was given. From “I could take you to jail and impound your bike” to no citation? Lying cop is a liar.

Cops do not keep or make anyone “safe”. In fact they routinely make people less safe.
Just in this situation alone it’s the officer alone who is endangering not only the rider of the motorcycle but every other motorist who is now slowed or having to react to him being stopped in the middle of the road.
On a highway and you get pulled over? The patrolman is putting the rest of traffic in danger not the “evil speeder”. Now traffic has to watch out for the pulled over vehicles, try to change lanes if possible, watch for other merging traffic, potentially hit the brakes hard, etc. Just letting the traffic flow is much safer. People going slower are often more potentially or actually dangerous than people going faster.
It’s a highway robbery cash grab. What’s the difference if I told you that the guy in the video was just holding the other guy at gunpoint, reaching for his wallet and robbing him? If the rider would’ve gotten a citation he still would’ve been robbed at gunpoint effectively.

Having been in this cop’s shoes there are one hell of a lot of bikers who drive very erratically AND video tape themselves while doing it. REGARDLESS, based only on what this video shows, I see no reason for the cop to be pointing a handgun at the biker. Maybe he had a reason I don’t know about – that’s the problem with such videos, they are not full length objective views, this one has obviously been edited.
As for the South African Police Video, I think the instructor needed some help. At least she kept it pointed downrange… That guy in the background seemed to be having a difficult time too.

The only reason to point a gun at someone is to defend yourself or another person from severe physical harm or death. The motorcyclist may or may not have been a douchebag and driving erratically. But if he had been a threat of harm or death to anyone else on the road, he should have been arrested. That means the cop is either an incompetent fool drawing a gun when it’s not needed. Or he was right to draw the gun and then chose to be an incompetent fool letting an actual threat to safety off without so much as a ticket.
Either way, a suspension isn’t enough. That cop ought to be fired and charged criminally.

The fact that the target was still alive and talking ( when the police showed up) does not mean he was still a threat after being shot. Someone on the floor, holding his head, with no weapon, is not a threat.

I don’t know that I would have tried to make a move for my conceal carry while a gun is being pointed at me. The odds of surviving such an encounter go down. But Gov. William is 100% correct that the “cop” was lucky no one tried to shoot him. Unmarked car, no uniform, no badge, no ticket, no partner, gun in hand. I guess anyone should take his word that he’s a cop and comply and assume they’re safe?!? That doesn’t sound like a good policy.
As far as survivability, if this isn’t a cop and it is a ca se of road rage, what are your chances of surviving if you don’t draw your weapon? Assuming you carry strong side, you can fake reaching for your wallet. He’s probably close enough to grab his weapon and stick yours in his ribs. And if the situation was as I think it was, he was basically just bullying people with his g un and would be taken completely by surprise to be drawn on. My guess is you’re over 50% if you draw and at the mercy of your attacker if you don’t. Anyway, that’s a split second decision that isn’t always the right one, but sometimes even the wrong decision is better than indecision.
Seeing as how the ‘perp’ had a cam era instead of a weapon, this cop needs to lose his job, his pension and any perks retired cops get. He committed a felony and deserves the LE equivalence of a military dishonorable discharge (which includes a loss of your 2nd Amendment rights – or at least governmental recognition of those rights).

What really struck me the most watching this video is that the deputy walked up and said “how ya doing”, did not even identify himself as a police officer until quite a ways into the interaction, and to my knowledge never showed his shield or anything else.
KCSO has some good officers but they do have a long and storied history of being somewhat ethically challenged, shall we say. That’s in the department that just a few years ago had one of their former SWAT officers found guilty of promoting prostitution (pimping his wife), domestic violence, theft, and drug infraction

Some type of hearing and witnesses testify, if the cop lied and was only stopping this guy to bolster his ego he should not be a police officer.
When I was in fourth grade, we had a field trip where, among other things, the principal’s wife took us to a gun store where she bought a rifle for his upcoming birthday. This was way before teh internet days, and the principal and his wife were co-owners of the private school. Anyway, it was the coolest field trip ever. I kept wandering over the case where the .44 magnums were, just to drool.
I think my favorite thing about that RTEK scope is that it doesn’t look like it’s unwieldy and awkward at all. I’m sure having a pound of electronics mounted a foot above the rifle doesn’t affect the balance, especially when it’s offset by a car battery hanging off the buttstock.

They were ordered to cease and desist when it was discovered that they were running a school without the proper permits. Now, if they had NOT gone online, no one would have checked the permits and they would still be a school.

Off duty cop, aggressive biker? Okay assuming fake news is correct and this cop that is not getting paid as he is off duty is just out stopping bikes that are not doing anything, too bad, bad cop. I find it hard to believe. He is out of line and should have just proceeded and let the biker kill himself or someone else? I think that cops get a lot of unfair negative coverage and I am generally supportive of the work they do. That does not mean that ALL negative coverage towards police is unfair. This cop should be fired, criminally charged, and should become a prohibited person.
