The SEC trumps the NRA . . . Guns are big, but football’s bigger – “Guns are big in Arkansas, but hogs and football can be bigger. The National Rifle Association took on the Razorbacks of the University of Arkansas over a law that would have enabled fans to take their guns to the game, and the Razorbacks won. The Second Amendment is holy writ in Arkansas, which has some of the most liberal gun laws in the nation, and under a law enacted earlier this year holders of licenses to carry concealed guns who had taken eight hours of extra training were legally entitled to take their guns into public college campuses, including stadiums and sports arenas. Saloons, churches, and most public buildings, too, even the state Capitol in Little Rock. More than 200,000 Arkansans hold such permits. This upset members of the Southeastern Conference, all from the South or adjoining states, including Arkansas, where the Second Amendment is also held precious.”

You won’t stop hearing from Shannon any time soon  . . . Gun-control groups vow demonstrations at Trump speech to NRA – “President Trump’s attendance at an annual National Rifle Association convention later this month is drawing vows of street protests by gun-control groups. Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, said the group’s ‘volunteers will be in Atlanta’ during the NRA’s annual meeting, ‘just as we have been showing up at town halls and in statehouses across the country to stand up for the safety of our families and communities. We will not be silenced,’ she said.” Bless her heart.

True Patriots: Virginia collector Michael Tuccori’s eighteenth-century Kentucky rifles are studies in American history -Almost every Kentucky rifle has a story to tell. The one I’m looking at has a rectangular silver inlay near the rifle’s butt that reads: ‘C Kelsey.’ And etched along the top of the rifle’s black barrel—in blocky and bold letters—is this: ‘New Market made by H. Spitzer.’ ‘This weapon was made by Henry Spitzer,’ Michael Tuccori is saying as he handles the antique Kentucky rifle, its curly maple stock glowing gold in the morning sun. ‘Spitzer was a gunsmith working in New Market, Virginia, and he made this gun for Charles Kelsey, a native of Rockbridge County, Virginia, in 1794. Records show that Kelsey moved into Kentucky with his wife in 1795, only the next year. He took the rifle with him. Now it has come back home.’

Caseless ammo is not a new concept but you need the right materials and right design to make it work. It’s all a matter of getting the right tech and the right design. Back in the 1980s the German firm Dynamit Nobel developed a 4.73mm round that weighed much less than the existing 5.56mm rounds but was similar in effectiveness.”

Numnutz like this are why we can’t have nice things . . . ‘Drunk’ man wearing an NRA t-shirt is arrested for pulling a gun on his former neighbor during an argument at a grocery store – “An Connecticut man wearing an NRA t-shirt was arrested for pulling a gun on his former neighbor during a drunken argument, police say. Mario Williams of Shelton, Connecticut was taken into custody after being accused of pointing a gun at his ex-neighbor and using it to threaten him during a dispute as they stood outside a local grocery store in the early evening of April 10. When cops arrived at the Wooster Street Market in Shelton, they found Williams, 58, clad in a heather grey NRA t-shirt, with the gun still in his possession.”

This is what happens to a disarmed populace . . . Several Injured As False Reports Of Shots Fired Spark Chaos Near Coney Island Amusement Park – “False reports of shots fired ignited chaos near Coney Island’s Luna Park Sunday evening. The FDNY tells CBS2′ several people were taken to Coney Island Hospital with minor injuries. As CBS2’s Brian Conybeare reports, thousands of people were enjoying the beautiful Easter Sunday weather when suddenly it all turned into chaos.”

The latest anti-gun efforts from America’s ugliest capitol building . . . Ore. lawmakers consider stricter gun laws – “Three new bills that would strengthen gun background checks and make it possible for law enforcement to take guns away from people with mental health issues will be introduced in the Oregon Senate on Monday. There’s already high interest in the bills — SB 764, SB 797 and SB 868 — and there’s expected to be a big turnout for public testimony on both sides. SB 797 aims to close what’s known as the “Charleston Loophole” in reference to Dylann Roof, who reportedly obtained a gun he wasn’t supposed to be able to purchase and used it to kill parishioners in a South Carolina Church.”

The south suburban resident is hyper busy, tutoring school children, substitute teaching, volunteering with at-risk youth. And, as she proudly asserts, ‘a Certified Instructor with the Illinois State Police to teach the Conceal Carry Classes for Illinois.’”
