Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam has signed several new gun restrictions he championed during this year’s legislative session, cementing gains by gun control advocates they hope will serve as a “blueprint” for states around the country.

The Old Dominion has been the epicenter of the nation’s gun debate after Democrats took full control of the General Assembly last year on an aggressive gun control platform. Tens of thousands of gun owners from around the country rallied against new gun restrictions at the state Capitol in January while lawmakers ultimately approved 7 out of 8 of Northam’s gun-control package.

The governor announced Friday he’d signed bills that include requiring universal background checks on gun purchases, a red flag bill to allow authorities to temporarily take guns away from people deemed to be dangerous to themselves or others, and limited handgun purchases to one a month.

“This is an exciting day for me,” Northam said on a conference call with gun-control advocates.

Virginia was once a socially conservative state where lawmakers in both parties viewed gun rights as sacrosanct and the National Rifle Association held great sway.

But as the state has grown more urban and suburban, the gun lobby’s influence has waned. A mass shooting last year in Virginia Beach made gun control a front-burning issue in Virginia and heavy spending by groups backed by former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg helped Democrats flip control of the legislature in November.

Gun-control advocates said Friday they’re planning to replicate their success in Virginia in other states. John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety, said his group plans to spend heavily in key battleground states this year like Arizona, North Carolina and Pennsylvania to elect lawmakers who support new gun restrictions.

Feinblatt said polling shows a gun-control agenda is popular in those states and that Virginia is a “bellwether” of what’s to come.

The gun lobby was not totally shut out of Virginia’s legislative session and were able to water down many bills backed by Northam.

“While we still don’t like them, they’re not as bad as they once were,” said Philip Van Cleave, president of the Virginia Citizens Defense League.

Moderate Democrats also balked at passing one of the most high-profile gun measures debated this year: banning assault weapons like the popular AR-15-style rifles.

The governor acknowledged that he “came up short” on that legislation but said he will try again next year.

“I will not stop,” he said.

Van Cleave said his group is readying several lawsuits against the new gun laws and predicted gun owners will elect more gun-friendly lawmakers next year in state House elections

“Nothing (Northam’s) doing today is necessarily permanent,” Van Cleave said.

    • Yeah, the Democrats who outnumber you will remember, and will vote for people who promise to ban those scary black weapons of war with the 100 round clipazines.

And Bruce Jenner is a woman.
      And gun free zones work.
And people who smoke marijuana don’t ever use harder drugs.
And we should have open borders, because “people of color” never commit crimes or bring disease…

  1. Let’s give him more exiting days a different. File hundreds of civil rights violation laws suits against him personally. File suits to remove him from office for violating his sworn oath and perjury.

    • None of that will do diddly squat. He, as most lawmakers, has full immunity. You would be liable for any legal costs, though.

      Elections matter.

    • The state of CA strives on being the leader, I.e. environment (emmision standards, solar power), sanctuary cities for illegals, insane housing market, infringing on gun rights, but VA is moving at a faster rate of being anti-2A. I hope VA gun voters have the majority that CA gun owners does not. Vote that guy out of office.

  2. More illegal laws and these losers who put these into law and ones who enforce them are committing treason and need to be removed from office asap.

  3. Since the Roots of Gun Control are in racism and genocide the only logical conclusion is Gun Control zealots and the useful idiots who vote for them must be racists and nazis.

  4. Arizona I tend to doubt, but what’s the feel in Pennsylvania and North Carolina? Is this guy accurate in saying that more gun control would be well-received in these states? I don’t know much about either.

    • Never in PA. The Repubs control the house and senate by a big majority.. Our house leader is a die hard 2nd ammendment guy.. true to the constitution. We just took three more house seats in special elections in march.. all 2nd ammendment gun right supporters. PA Legislatures would have to change our constitution.. The right to bear arms in our state constitution is crystal clear.. well written, and not confusing. Thank god our state fathers wrote it that way. This state has turned into a crap socialist state thanks to Wolf and his felony side kick Lieutenant Gov.. who is nowhere to be found. Probably selling pot and letting out the felons. And the crazy Dr. Richard Levine, that’s right, Richard, not Rachel, who is tromping on the constitution daily.. The only blue areas are the liberal southeast.. well, progressive crazy, and Pittsburg.. and a few other corner pockets.. Still a lot of Red around here. You just don’t hear about them.. silent but deadly.. Naw… PA will go to Trump, and keep all our seats, and then some. The Dems are like the Emperor with no clothes.. bunch of phony, naked liars… After this stupid virus, which is a joke with the phony numbers, people here are really angry.. they have seen the true Gov. in sheeps clothing.. tyrant and company..

      • Kim,

        With you on that 100%!!

Here in PA we cling to our guns and our faith, not out of bitterness, but out of patriotism.

We’ll get the Governorship back also. Wolf has done sufficient damage and the urban left has been out purchasing guns. And all those people Wolf put out of work needlessly, will remember.

    • Arizona is rapidly moving towards the direction Virginia did. You can feel the divide when you are there.

    • Unfortunately the left has infiltrated the larger cities (as everywhere else) in NC (and some smaller locations as well – Asheville is kind of like Austin TX hipsterville lefties). So they are trying very hard to get the same infringing bs enacted here as well. So far thankfully without much success. But we have our own crop of infringing bs to deal with, and so no one has succeeded in removing it (Sheriff sells pistol purchase and concealed carry permits).

      • Assville has been a liberal shithole for decades.
When I was living in NC in the early ‘90’s it was a haven for the braindead libtards who infest the higher ‘education’ business.
But NC has never been super pro-gun, with the stupid purchase permits for pistols (can possess up to 3 at a time, and they cost money), the very loosely defined ‘carry to the terror’ clause of open carry, and the convoluted process and requirements to have NFA items.

  5. Although stalled because of COVID-109, there’s an effort for some Oregon and California counties to become part of Idaho and form a larger Idaho! Maybe that would be appropriate for some Virginia counties to become part of West Virginia? Once these leftest legislators realize the rest of their state will move forward with a divorce, maybe they’ll come to the realization that they’re the problem!

  6. Look at the photo of northam. There is room on his forehead for a sign that says, “Don’t Slap Poop Splatters.”

  7. They’re not as bad as they were?

Yeah, gun owners only get punched in the eye 9 times instead of 20 times. Whoop dee doo.

  8. When gun owners in Virginia decided to not vote in the last election. They still voted anyway.
Now it will be much harder to change laws that have been passed. Perhaps Virginia gun owners will get up off their ass this time and go vote in the next election.

Let this be a lesson for every gun owner who decides not to vote. Or who says there’s no difference between the candidates or the parties. And that includes the libertarian party. Since they ran an anti civil rights candidate for vice president.

    • It is not just “gun owners” who didn’t vote, it was conservatives who set it out.

Hopefully the last few months have taught them a lesson and they will vote in large numbers….in all states.

Bloomers will be spending a lot of money to elect democrats (communist party USA) to flip more states. The left also has automated get out the vote notices to young people who are most likely to vote socialist. That was one of the issues in VA last year. That is how the hildabeast got so many votes in californicate in 2016.

  9. This author should correct his post. He is wrong.

Passed: Background checks on private gun sales. As a Virginian, I have no problem with this law. Private sales should have a background check, period. This prevents guns being made available in hands that should not own them.

Passed: One gun per month. This is ok!

Not passed: online certification for concealed carry permits.

Not passed: assault style weapons. Great I can keep my 223.

I read every post on this site, and I see a lot of BS rhetoric. Gun rights are evolving. LIKE IT OR NOT. Some states have been involved in knee jerk reactions to an event. It’s not ok but we are a dying breed and it will only get worse because of high density housing, liberals, and mental illness that has plagued society. I love VA because for the past couple months I have been able to buy all of the ammo (online) I want and without getting screwed over from an overpriced FFL/gun shop.

    • Evolving? More like degrading. One gun a month is ok? How about one pack of cigarettes a month? One roll of tp a month? One day a month to take your family out? One tank of gas a month? You should get the idea.
I don’t know about you but I don’t need anyone or govt telling me what I need/want and how much I’m allowed to have. It’s not illegal and their feelings don’t supersede our rights.

      • I agree with everyone that is not happy. I bought several guns from private sellers. However, I am a legal gun owner. Look at New Zealand, people can’t own a gun now because of a white supremacy jack ass. Mental illness is our enemy and Democrats.

        • People in New Zealand don’t have a constitutional republic or a second amendment. They can’t own specific guns now because their government is filled with authoritarians and useful idiots who played right into the white supremacist’s plan; they are either spineless followers who let criminals make policy for them, or they “let no tragedy go to waste” to impose their totalitarian rule. Almost makes one wonder if it were all according to plan.

      • Never saw any of that crap in the second amendment. what I did see was shall not be infringed which nullifies all these lefty laws.

    • “Gun rights are evolving.”

No sir. Gun rights are being infringed. These laws are plainly unconstitutional. They represent death by a thousand cuts. Folks like you accept them, even agree with them. And so the frog boils.

Background checks for private sales = gov registry. Not OK

One gun a month- arbitrary meaningless requirement which will particularly affect collectors and hurt people taking advantage of sales. It also helps the prolls take their medicine. Not OK.

    • as a Virginian that lived in CA, i see background checks on private transfers of firearms an unnecessary step that just adds additional costs and puts additional onus on the individual citizens to make more hoops for them to jump through for even a simple transaction between two private citizens.

One gun per month: none of the state’s business.

and just wait, if we leave the dems in control, you won’t be able to buy ammo online either.

      • As a former California resident and conservative. I’m glad I could buy three guns in one month. As I did last year.
        (Smile)
        LIBERTY!!!

    • “Passed: Background checks on private gun sales. As a Virginian, I have no problem with this law. Private sales should have a background check, period. This prevents guns being made available in hands that should not own them.”

And will definitely stop criminals, right? What private business happens between law-abiding citizens with legal items is none of the government’s business. Additionally it’s been well proven that the vast majority of crime guns were acquired illegally, so what is this meant to actually stop?

“Passed: One gun per month. This is ok!”

Why? Why is this the only constitutionally protected right that it seems acceptable to have a ‘rate of use’ limitation imposed on it? What is this designed to actually stop?

      • Why don’t we have limits on alcohol sales? Why would anyone need more than a six pack?

Why don’t we have background checks? You had a DUI in the past? Sorry, no more alcohol for you.

Is buying and consuming alcohol protected by the Constitution?

    • “Not passed: assault style weapons. Great I can keep my 223. ”

Note: if Kendall did not own a “223” he would have no problem with a ban on it.

    • Given your skewed logic and clearly lack of understanding of the constitution and rights, you could Insert “All rights are evolving”

Given your thought process a politician with a particular religious belief could get a majority with the same religious belief to support direct to ballot initiative or legislation making it a requirement to have a one state religion in lock step with the politician and majority vote, and require mandatory participation or discrimination against non believers.

Freedom of speech could “evolve” where state approval is required prior to posting a particular political belief on the internet. Besides, if we all are forced to share the same opinion there won’t be any disagreement. It will be a safer and more peaceful discourse without dissent.

Even if dissenters disagree with their inevitable persecution they won’t be able to resist.

“Evolution” of rights is exactly what the Constitution aimed to prevent.

    • If anyone thinks a background check law prevents the illegal sale of a gun they are pretty naive and gullible.

It does create a registry to be used to great effect later , maybe when the next killer virus arrives from china.

    • Kendall S. said, ” Private sales should have a background check, period. This prevents guns being made available in hands that should not own them. ”
What a dreamer! Thugs don’t care who they sell to or whom they buy from as long as the money is green.

    • Gosh, Kendall, so if an “assault weapons” bill had passed, would you have been a good little serf, and turned your now-illegal weapons in? Hooray, you are “allowed” to keep them! For now. Good God, this is why rights are lost-and permanently. By those like you who think losing them a little at a time is so much better than suddenly, and all at once. In the end, the results are the same.

    • Laws don’t prevent anything. Criminals will never go through BC, as they don’t obey laws.

It’s a constitutionally protected right of the people to own and carry arms. They may need them to set straight the government if it ever turns to tyranny. How is it okay to ask the same government for permission to get a gun?

One gun a month is okay? Are you serious? How about one book a month. Or one visit to the church. One post on social media? Still okay?

This is the kind of thinking that poisoned the NRA. “We are dying breed, our rights are being violated, I mean evolving. Let’s compromise and not lose them all at once.” Disgusting defeatism. With friends like you, who needs enemies?

Don’t say, “It is not as bad as it might be.” Fight hard to make it better!

    • ” we are a dying breed and it will only get worse because of high density housing, liberals, and mental illness that has plagued society ”

I’m not so sure about that. While it is true that the boomers, who have been much of the bulwark against gun infringements, are dying off, they are not necessarily leaving a vacuum behind them. There has always been fairly substantial support for 2A in the 18-35 year-old demographic. It doesn’t show up in the MSM (because they won’t report it), but it is there. Eventually those people will get off the couch and vote.

High density housing might have a bleak future as well. As the political winds push us off fossil fuel and onto “renewables”, high density housing (i.e., cities) will become increasingly untenable, strictly from an engineering standpoint. Powering a house with solar energy is one thing, powering an 80-story skyscraper is quite another, and powering an entire block of them is just a dream. And we have yet to see the long-term social effects of C19, but if I had to make a prediction, I’d say the pressure is going to be toward people moving out of cities, not moving in to them. This is something to keep an eye on.

As for liberals, they have a bleak future as well. The political pendulum is swinging to the right, and the Democrats will be powerless to stop it. From a policy standpoint, they are bankrupt. From a moral standpoint, they are bankrupt. People are tired of the same old shit, and all the new ideas coming from the Democrats came from the Progressive wing. They killed that, so now they have nothing to offer but “get Trump” and the same old shit. It’s not a winning platform.

Northam may think he’s leading the charge to a new and brighter gun-controlled future, but he’s totally delusional. He got away with what he did because the gun owners were asleep at the wheel, not because he’s riding a wave. Well, they’re not asleep any more, and now C19 comes along to cut off his balls (if he ever had any). The surge in gun purchases is not “panic buying”. Spending $5 per roll for toilet paper is panic buying. Guns take a little more thought and much more specialized effort. We can argue about how significant this is, but it’s only a matter of degree — it’s significant, period, and it puts a huge dent in the Civilian Disarmament Cartel’s agenda.

If ever there was a time to hold the line and say no compromises, this would be it. Most of the trends and indicators are pointing in our favor, and if SCOTUS comes down with a strict scrutiny ruling in June, the icing will be on the cake.

And that’s my rave for the day — I need a nap now.

      • there will continue to be an influx towards metropoli.
what the heck, right? we’ve got another hundred years…

      • I am not a liberal gun owner. I come from three generation’s of military service. We were all proud servicemen.

If you think Trump has your back you are all mistaken. As a Republican I think all of you are forgetting that he is a liberal and historically has been one for ever.

Gun ownership is not just a redneck right. We are all fighting the same battle. 2nd amendment rights. The FR’s in Charlottesville screwed up big time and unfortunately the failed to represent the real gun owners by showing the world gun owners are screwball’s.

        • sure, as long as by “fighting” you mean bending over happily to receive your “acceptable” restrictions.

        • ” I come from three generation’s of military service.”

Didn’t ever read your oath did you? Idiot

        • Oooo.. 3 generations!! Color me unimpressed.
You are still a boot licking, libtard Fudd.
We don’t need people like you pretending to be 2A friendly.

        • “We are all fighting the same battle. ”

I’m not seeing much fight in you, and a lot of ‘screw you, got mine.’

    • This author should correct his post. He is wrong.

Typical liberal. If you disagree with me you’re wrong. Off to a good start already.

Passed: Background checks on private gun sales. As a Virginian, I have no problem with this law. Private sales should have a background check, period. This prevents guns being made available in hands that should not own them.

Except it does no such thing. Criminals get their guns just fine without doing any background checks. You know, being criminals and all. Does a pretty good job of helping set up a registry though. But I’m sure you’d be fine with that too.

Passed: One gun per month. This is ok!

One book a month OK too? One online post a month? You’re already over your quota tovarish. If I already have a gun, how exactly does making me wait a month before getting another prevent anything? I’ll just go rob the liquor store with the one I got until the other arrives.

Not passed: assault style weapons. Great I can keep my 223.

Yes, you GET to keep it. How nice that your betters in government LET you keep your .223. For now. They’ll be back for it next year. Might as well sell it now while the selling is good and save yourself the trouble.

It’s not ok but we are a dying breed and it will only get worse because of high density housing, liberals, and mental illness that has plagued society. I love VA because for the past couple months I have been able to buy all of the ammo (online) I want and without getting screwed over from an overpriced FFL/gun shop.

We’re a dying breed? I guess the million new gun owners last month didn’t get the memo.
No, Karen, it will only get worse because of people like you. ENTIRELY because of people like you.
And you can buy ammo online in most states, so congrats I guess, welcome to the 21st century.

    • World politics is actually moving to the right, even in your precious Europe. In fact the pandemic will only accelerate this because historically, pandemics typically cause more people to embrace nationalist and conservative ideals. Similar to war.

In fact, it’s liberalism, and even more-so globalism, that is a dying breed.

    • Kendall: Quote: “Background checks on private gun sales. As a Virginian, I have no problem with this law. Private sales should have a background check, period. This prevents guns being made available in hands that should not own them. ”

Do you really believe that people who “should not own them” buy them legally. They get guns on the black market that ignores all laws. They are criminals, they don’t obey the law.

The only people this will affect are law abiding citizens who are not going to cause trouble anyway.

You have drunk the lemonade, pull your head out.

  10. Van Cleave better get his head on straight. There is no room for false hope. Don’t downplay the situation.

All those patriots did nothing when they showed up to follow orders, thank their oppressors and clean up after themselves. That is inarguable at this point.

Now Virginia is forcing those boys to stay inside while he signs away their rights. What a great time for social distancing. It’s not like they would come out like they did when times were good because they will get SWAT’d in the night.

Stay your patriot ass inside and don’t forget it’s a felony to wear a mask.

  11. Hmmm…didn’t Virginian’s succeed fron the Union in 1860 for LESS? And go to war in 1861??? And fight Britain to the death in 1775?!? Show some backbone. AND VOTE😏

    • WI Patriot, you sound like a Midwesterner. I was born Chicago. Where I come from, you would pay the political price for talking such shit.

WI – The DNR is a joke.

FN get serious, we as Virginians kept our “assault rifles with 30rd“ and 10 + rounds in our pistols. We are lucky, would hate to be in California, Maryland or states outside of PA like N.Y. that has no respect for the Constitution.

  12. It is past time for state-level electoral colleges. We must break the power of the liberal strongholds. Or just walk them in and stop sending in the trucks. Y’all keep your covid, we’ll keep the food and gas. You can be green to your hearts’ content.

    • WALL not walk.

C’mon TTAG, bring back the edit button… don’t expect me to review my message before posting 🙄

    • That’s right, it’s past time. We can’t get it through over the overgrown city dwelling opposition now.
Leftists call to get rid of electoral college altogether. “One man, one vote.”
When people realize that they can vote themselves hand outs, it’s the end of democracy.

      • We don’t want democracy. We need to restore the representative government. Unfortunately candidates who would actually do that are in short supply, and so our choice becomes ruination now or ruination later. It will take more than the ballot box to repair the United States.

  13. At this point, I am just shocked that some patriot has not abe lincolned his bitch ass. Why is this dude still breathing?

    • Same reason we politely showed up to the rally, thanked the cops that herded us into pens for doing their jobs. And then cleaned up the place after we left. Instead of storming the fucking capitol and dragging the fucker out by his hair.

Because we follow the rules, right into the cattle cars.

      • Yea, which is why after the previous two militia gatherings, I refused to show up for Virginia. I knew it would be a one and done deal and nothing would be accomplished for it. At least at Bundy Ranch, we almost fired shots. Seriously, no action means nothing will happen. Showing up politely will get you just as far as it got the BLM movement. The 2nd literally exists to protect domestic terrorism. The rest is up to us, and that type of shit is like knocking on the door and asking them to come outside. Door slams in face every time. I learned my lesson at Bundy Ranch and Standing Rock. The next time I go out, I will fucking go out.

  14. Trump is not going to protect our gun rights. He is only holding off the federal wolves. It all comes down to the states.
So, live in a state that has better gun rights.

Popular vote has degraded our rights. And, all of the immigrants / at least most of them have brought their beliefs on gun control with them.

This is the problem. In my state VA (NRA HQ) where was the NRA in their own state? The politician that broke the tie in favor of most of the changes starting in July was a minority. Not saying any race thing, he was a dirty Democratic that liked forcing himself on the ladies.

    • So….. you’re ok with them taking one small slice of the salami till there is nothing left but the string? As a Virginian you make me sick you putz.

      • Fuck you. You had your chance and you showed up politely then left before it got dark. You make me sick. Stop asking, start demanding.

    • “Trump is not going to protect our gun rights.”

He has thus far, but that’s okay, go vote for biden, or hillary for that matter, see what that gets you in the end…you need to wake up and support the people we stand the best chance with, instead you bitch, moan and criticize…you can’t even control what’s going on in your own state…

  15. Yawwwwwwn. How’s that non violent demonstration working for you now? The protest during the winter accomplished NOTHING!! It was disappointing to see how outnumbered and out gunned any authority was in Virginia compared to the protesters, and yet, the outnumbered and outgunned won. People in Virginia have two choices, get off your fucking lardass and go vote. Or drop your balls out of your cunts and start killing people.

    • Gun grabbers know that gun owners are by and large very law abiding people. They count on our docility. They will push as far as we let them.

      • Someone around here made the analogy that these things are something like a pot of gasoline on the stove. Turn on the heat and nothing happens. Crank it up a bit… still nothing. Your first clue that there might be a problem is A BIG FUCKING PROBLEM.
So it goes with violence. Rational people avoid it until they can’t. At that point they typically unleash a righteous fury. When that person stops talking, be afraid.

  16. Considering how easy it is to scare people from going outside these days, perhaps this isn’t all that shocking.

Personally though, I’m actually enjoying this whole “lockdown”. I can actually ride the speed limit and no one pulls out in front of me if I’m in the right lane, there’s no one texting and driving either and my eyeballs weren’t assaulted by an obese person even once.

    • with you. the only changes in my life have been shifting my socialist distancing from the tavern out to the garage, and leaving groceries for mom outside her door.
i’m outdoor all day and am thoroughly enjoying the light vehicle/ pedestrian traffic.
the 105 i hit on lsd yesterday was the same 105 as before, just less jetsam to dodge.

    • Must be nice. Nothing has changed in Montana on the roads. Mass idiots everywhere. I have driven everywhere across the US and tons of places in Europe, this place takes the cake for idiots (yea, even over CA, and VA). Social distancing is about 80% in effect. I’m about ready to put spikes on a rotating disk and wear it as a belt for the other 20%.

      • He is though. He believes that because he voted for Trump, it means everyone who did not is stupid. dems are 25%, repubs are 25% and the rest is 50%, but this idiot still considered himself a majority and is only smug cuz the money played the system in his favor this time.

  17. You can’t beat popular vote. When it’s a bunch of first generation immigrants are the popular vote.

WI Patriot, you sound like a Midwesterner.

    • “WI Patriot, you sound like a Midwesterner.”
      Born and raised…
      “I was born Chicago”
Nothing to be proud of FIB…

“WI – The DNR is a joke.”
What does the WI DNR have to with anything…???
At least they respect out gun rights, laws were actually changed to support gun rights…

      • above the cheddar curtain we are loathed and despised. if the bears ever learn to catch it will get even worse.
it’s understandable when rude disrespectful (to add drunken would be to project, but as gadsden flag said, if the shoe fits kick yourself in the ass) jagoffs decide to make your backyard their messy playground.
i tread lightly on my constant northern sojourns. for a sunday, following the rustic road designations satisfies. only to be bettered by the driftless area of the southwest. anything between beloit (the sound of a nickel being flipped into the toilet) and la crosse (the only place i have ever seen beer flowing in the gutters- not even munich) is an adventure.

  18. Can someone explain to me how they plan to enforce universal background checks? Has anyone researched this, come to any concrete sources or conclusions as to how it could be done? Maybe it’s me, my 63 year old brain’s finally tipping over or frozen up. How can they monitor or regulate private transactions of any kind, much less guns?

      • yea they can do that except that would cost money and unless black-face northam’s boss i.e. bloomberg pays for it that will show up heavily in the budget and even socialist followers will be screaming bloody murder that’s money best used else where

  19. Unfortunately, John Mark (the guy in the red motorcycle helmet) on youtube seems to be right about the influx of nonwhite, leftist voters. Democracy is mob rule, plain and simple, and they just keep importing leftist voters by the thousands.

I fear that VA will be the first of many if this keeps up. Texas isn’t far behind with the leftist Hispanic vote getting bigger and bigger, not to mention all the CA transplants in Austin and Dallas.

    • you say this as though their kids don’t assimilate. the majority of offspring sway to the siren call of wonderful excess and exceptionalism. a 5.0 and a .38 beats a camel and scimitar every time.

  20. “Gun-control advocates said Friday they’re planning to replicate their success in Virginia in other states. John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety, said his group plans to spend heavily in key battleground states this year like Arizona, North Carolina and Pennsylvania to elect lawmakers who support new gun restrictions.”

Well good luck with all that. We’ve got a anti 2A gubenor and a pro 2A state senate and its just like capital hill, dead lock. Nothing’s getting done and by that I mean no new laws are getting passed and that’s fine on 2 counts. One is that no new gun laws and Two is no new laws period. We dont need anymore new laws, we just need enforcement of the ones we have. But the gubenor is pretty smart. He knew better than to close gun shops and gun ranges. The municipalities that have (tried) have gotten lawsuits filed against them and after consulting with city and county attorneys, the AHJ’s have crawfished and back peddaled quickly to allow the shops and ranges to remain open. A previous gubenor tried that s#it and she was gone after one term.

  21. Now that the gun control laws are done, Gov blackface doesn’t have an acceptable distracion anymore. Remember the masses were calling for his resignationand if not done, they were going to impeach early vote him from Office. Gov pushes heavy gun control agenda and all his liberal, dem and racial/ethnic critics shut up! Gun control buys politicians and politicians use gun control to distract from their many failings.

  22. He tried it before and 10’s of thousands protested. So he waited until Covid-19 to sneak it through like a total Sleezbag. How gross is that to use caronavirus to take away people’s rights?
