US Attorney Bill McSwain minces no words when it comes to the six Philly cops shot this week. In a powerful statement, he lays responsibility for the disrespect for law enforcement in the city at the doorstep of the city’s Soros-funded District Attorney Larry Krasner.

Statement by United States Attorney William M. McSwain on the Shooting of Six Philadelphia Police Officers

What I witnessed last night was true heroism by the Philadelphia police. But the crisis was precipitated by a stunning disrespect for law enforcement – a disrespect so flagrant and so reckless that the suspect immediately opened fire on every single officer within shooting distance.  Only by the grace of God did they survive.

Where does such disrespect come from?

There is a new culture of disrespect for law enforcement in this City that is promoted and championed by District Attorney Larry Krasner – and I am fed up with it.

It started with chants at the DA’s victory party – chants of “F*** the police” and “No good cops in a racist system.”

We’ve now endured over a year and a half of the worst kinds of slander against law enforcement – the DA routinely calls police and prosecutors corrupt and racist, even “war criminals” that he compares to Nazis.

This vile rhetoric puts our police in danger.  It disgraces the Office of the District Attorney.  And it harms the good people in the City of Philadelphia and rewards the wicked.

The alleged shooter last night, Maurice Hill, is a previously convicted felon with a long rap sheet.  We have plenty of criminal laws in this City – but what we don’t have is robust enforcement by the District Attorney.  Instead, among other things, we have diversionary programs for gun offenses, the routine downgrading of charges for violent crime, and entire sections of the criminal code that are ignored.

The criminal laws in this City – and especially the existing gun laws and drug laws – should be aggressively enforced in order to protect the public and the police.  My Office is doing all that we can.  We have prosecuted 70% more violent crime cases this year than we did last year, in response to the District Attorney’s lawlessness.  But it is now time for the District Attorney and his enablers to stop making excuses for criminals.  It is time for accountability.  It is time to support law enforcement and to put the good people of this City first.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office, in conjunction with the Philadelphia police and our federal partners, is investigating the horrible events of last night and we are considering all options at our disposal.  We will do everything that we can to support our brothers and sisters in the Philadelphia Police Department and ensure justice is done.

To the officers involved last night – those who were wounded and those who rushed to defend them – and to their families, I say thank you.  The whole City thanks you.  We owe you more than we can ever repay.

  1. Soros is trying to remake the justice system by installing these like-minded DAs all over the country. You don’t have to worry about changing the laws of the land when you have prosecutorial discretion.

    • He just succeeded in Arlington and Fairfax Counties in Virginia. I was shocked to see Theo Stamos go down to defeat. She was a good Commonwealth Attorney who respected the right to bear arms. I wish she would run as an independent. She would win.

    • The establishment wants these kinds of people running America. They are simple minded sellouts who do not care for the Bill of Rights nor their own people. They want to remove all Americans of their power, both their voice and their weaponry.

  2. “US Attorney in Philadelphia: Vile rhetoric puts our police in danger”

No,rather the revolving door of the justice system that he and his fellow Commiecrats have fomented that put the entire nation in danger .

    • The alleged shooter … is a previously convicted felon with a long rap sheet. We have plenty of criminal laws in this City – but what we don’t have is robust enforcement by the District Attorney. Instead, among other things, we have diversionary programs for gun offenses, the routine downgrading of charges for violent crime, and entire sections of the criminal code that are ignored.

This pretty much says it all.

By the way, did anyone else read that and, by the end, think those comments were about Chicago rather than Philadelphia?

  3. Well, a District Attorney is an office subject to election by its community. Ya get what ya vote for, peeps.

If you chant “f*ck the cops”, I’m kinda guessing that some of those same cops might not press down on the gas pedal so hard when they’re responding to your 911 distress call.

    • “Ya get what ya vote for, peeps”

When you’re in a heavily partisan district, people vote for the person in their party with the most name recognition, which is almost always the person with the best funding. It’s tough for anyone to compete when extra funding is coming from outside the district.

      • Surely, the RNC has enough funding to (with clever management of strategy and timing) overwhelm and saturate the Philadelphia market.

I think the RNC has analyzed the situation and has decided that, no matter how much they spend or how much effort they exert, the Democrats will win.

If the RNC could win in Philadelphia, or any other city, by spending alone, money wouldn’t be a problem.

    • When will you people get it through your deads, the police don’t have to answer your 911 calls or come at all, per the SCOTUS. I’m not saying that is what we would prefer, it’s just the way it is. There is no law that requires them to protect the safety and/or the rights of the induvial and if there were it would be unconstitutional.

      • Where the hell did ever see where enforcement is allowed to be discretionary with their 911 calls. The 911 operator is the initial professionally trained person to delegate at his/her discretion the true validity and nature of that particular call, at which time he / she delegates which law municipality, local and/or state, possible ambulance(s), fire dept(s), etc… will be designated for for resolution of circumstances. From there it is out of the 911’s authority hence authority and direction is under the control the highest level of law enforcement on the particular scene. Any all decisions originate from ground zero (scene of incident). That’s it verbatim from an individual employed at state level of law enforcement. So do dare challenge me how the 911 system works? I’m on the frontline in authoritative position and it just befuddled where just absolute idiots like yourself forecast to sympathetic ears how the 911 system works, NO WHERE, and I emphatically say NO WHERE does it say law enforcement picks & chooses whether to answer a 911 call. Just plain and ignorant stupidity coming from a obvious JACKASS!

  4. “US Attorney in Philadelphia: Vile rhetoric puts our police in danger”

Then they need to be looking at the left, because putting out “vile rhetoric” is what they’re all about…

      • True but in this case, in this climate, it’s coming from the left. Anti-police rhetoric swings back and forth based on who is politically benefited by it at the time.

      • Yeah, those founding fathers were straight anti authoritarian government assholes, a bunch of sovereign citizens. They should have supported the King’s taxation and gun confiscation. Such whining leftists, they were. We should spit on their graves.

      • Reading comprehension is really an issue here…
I NEVER said the right doesn’t spew “vile rhetoric”,
but “vile rhetoric” is what the left is all about…

    • That may be true but the fact that the guy with a “rap book” was armed and on the street was the fault of the DA.

Besides I thought we didn’t want militerized police.

      • Training is not the same as MRAPs, explosives, shooting from helicopters, etc.

A drug warrant team thought they were all tough when they walked in because they are used to people running or giving up without a real fight. One guy in that apartment complex decided he wasn’t going to be caught as a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. As time went on he decided to live the rest of his life in prison.

The SWAT team simply told him he will die if he keeps it up. Then they fired tear gas into the home. He then walked out with his hands up.

      • It does seem given his rap sheet which they should have looked over in prep, they were not well prepared in case he decided to resist. Given this criminal’s history I would have expected a fight and been prepared for that and pleasantly surprised and happy if it did not happen.

  5. Not a fan of the federal government, but I have to hand to that U.S. Attorney. Now if there were some way he could hold accountable these left wing asswipes and jail them we might get somewhere.

  6. Meh…lots of black folks have reason to bitch. In Chiraq a bunch were incarcerated by corrupt cop’s and a willing DA. I have no 1st hand experience with Philadelphia. I DO with Chicago. Would you white boy’s put up with “stop & frisk”?!? NOT defending either “side”…yeah Soros sux.

    • I wonder how often clean cut professional black men or family men or just normal looking black men are stopped vs pants hanging down, thug-looking black men? I have no idea if stop & frisk works, but I’m guessing the ones that get stopped aren’t exactly dressing for success.

      • Nephew is mixed race. Shaved head and beard and looks middle eastern. In the current year he has been stopped four times for driving while black which is a thing. He happens to be married to a white woman. The last stop was by state patrol and the first words out of the cops mouth was to ask if she was ok.

        • Driving while not white is a thing in many places. Cops like to use the “your tint is too dark” excuse.

      • Is it okay to infringe on a human’s rights based on their appearance rather than probable cause or a warrant?

        • No, and I have no idea if stop & frisk even works. Obviously something different needs to be done in these high crime areas or nothing will change. If you’re doing stop & frisk, it needs to be geographically targeted, not race targeted. But then catching a criminal with illegal arms, drugs, etc. wouldn’t matter in these places anymore because they will just let them go with a slap on the wrist.

        • Stop and frisk was not applied based just on skin color, but on dress (such as wearing gang colors) and other metrics associated with criminals. And yes, it did work, as far as limiting the carrying of weapons, as criminals who flaunted their criminal associations knew they might be stopped, frisked, and arrested for carrying weapons.

Did it stop all killings? No. But no single thing would.

Any one of us can test the theory that we are judged by how we look, how we come across to others based on how we dress, talk and act toward others. I know I am sometimes treated differently based on how I look at any given time. As a white woman of a certain age, if I were to go into a department store and act a certain way, especially dressed a certain way, I would attract the attention of store security. And that makes sense. I once stopped at a car dealership to check out a car on their lot after working outside all day and the salesman wouldn’t give me the time of day. When I went back in a couple of weeks later, cleaned up and dressed better, he was happy to see me—though not so happy to see the car I bought from someone else.

The thing is, anyone who is not happy about being seen as a potential threat has the ability to change that, IF HE WANTS TO. That is, he can dress differently, speak differently, stop advertising an identity closely linked to criminality, and the chances are he will be treated differently. The choice to project a certain image is just that—–a choice.

So if you have made that choice, STFU and live with it. If you don’t like the outcome, look at yourself and change it.

    • Let’s be honest most these “unjustly” incarcerated folks ended up being released on technicalities. It doesn’t mean that they didn’t do the crime.

      • How would you know THAT??? Just because you lived in Chicago a million years ago? I guess all those colored folks were guilty in your “mind”…and you proved my point now in Wisconsin.

        • No, idiot, When there is a procedural violation you walk even if you are a serial killer. He is still a serial killer And when I lived in Chicago black neighborhoods were a lot safer. Even in the 60’s you could stand at 55th and State at midnight without getting shot.

        • Yeah you racist cracker. The whole world was “safe” in the’60’s. I was there too old man. Dream up another one. I hope those colored boy’s don’t raise your hackles aged fool…

        • Pretty funny to see a racist comment hurled by someone who is accusing someone else of being a racist, especially followed by bigotry related to age.

    • Do the black folk help the cops find shooters and drug dealers?
But let one of their friends or family get tagged and they demand justice and gun control.
Even if they arrest a shooter he’s out in hours.

      interesting demographics.

    • When I first started driving I had long hair and drove a rusty old malibu, I was constantly getting stopped and having my car searched, never had anything to hide, so they searched through food wrappers on my floor and I went on my way. I’ve still never smoked a joint or been in jail, crazy. And now my hair is short and I drive a nissan and I never get stopped, can I hire an attorney yet?

      • Auxwood_rebel, are you actually trying to imply that there is an element of personal responsibility here? That if you look like a criminal you shouldn’t be surprised to be suspected of being a criminal? WTH? Don’t you realize this is the US of A in 2019 and Personal Responsibility is not only wayyyyyy too Old School it is also racist and discriminatory and, uh, probably a lot of other stuff too? Some Lefty will chime in and tell us, no doubt.

I am really getting tired of the message that can be summed up as: “Just because most of the people who commit crimes dress and act a certain way, I am a victim if I dress and act that way and then people wonder if I am a criminal, too, and that means I am entitled to hate, scorn and even attack anyone who looks at me and wonders if I am the kind of person I am working really hard to look like”.

        • Back when Michael Brown was shot in Ferguson, a video was online that was allegedly a video of him beating a helpless old black man. Whether or not it was really Brown, it was brutal, with the huge young thug repeatedly throwing the old man to the ground, kicking him while he was down, etc.

But what struck me was that (1) someone stood there videoing the whole attack, and (2) several well-dressed, well-groomed, middle-aged types, all black, saw this happening, stood there and watched it, and never said or did a thing.

Which took me to the question: Why should any government agency, and/or any employee such as any law enforcement officer or first responder, put his or her life on the line to protect people who won’t step in to police their own neighborhoods? Who tolerate this kind of brutality?

In my closest big city, I saw a sequence of events play out over several years.

          1. Complaints from poor black neighborhood that them mean old white folks didn’t care about black people and didn’t patrol their neighborhood and protect them.
          2. City increased police presence in the neighborhood
          3. Complaints that the city was persecuting black people by patrolling their neighborhood with too many white police officers
          4. City made a point of hiring more black officers and assigned them to this neighborhood
          5. Complaints that the city was racist by “pitting black people against black people”
          6. City backed off and decreased police patrols to appease the complainers
          7. Back to #1—city was racist and didn’t care if poor black folks were victimized by criminals

At some time during this period, I was in an establishment in this black neighborhood when a man walked in and started shooting, wounding a manager. I was administering first aid—the only person who even tried, as every other person in the room stood and watched without trying to do a thing—-and when I said someone should call for an ambulance someone in the watching crowd said ambulances wouldn’t go to that neighborhood. When I asked why, I was told that because when they did, sometimes people shot at them.

It is really really hard to experience something like this without forming an impression of cultural rot, and no, it is not due to skin color, it is a cultural erosion of dignity, personal responsibility and community. Walking into a room where someone had just been shot and seeing a dozen or more people, many of them friends of the wounded man, just standing there without anyone making a move to do anything was very unnerving. Just as seeing a dozen or more people stand by watching a helpless old man being beaten and kicked by a big young man, without saying a word, and videotaping the whole thing, is another example of this cultural collapse.

It is not the fault of white people, or bossy cops, or anything else outside the culture itself, and for anything to change it has to start there, in the heart of this culture.

      • Auxwood rebel
As a black gun owner I have never been stopped by the police. Unless I was caught speeding. Or the one time an officer asked me for help finding a suspect. I did help him by telling him the direction the person he discribed to me was traveling.

I’m not playing loud music. I talk in a normal sound level. I open carry and have NEVER been stopped or questioned.

The cops stop you because you did something to attract their attention.

    • “White Boys”? GFY you racist A-hole! Blacks can and do walk through my white dominate neighborhood without fear or discrimination, guaranteed my white ass couldn’t do that in a black hood without getting harassed, beat or killed…guaranteed!!! Soooooo sick of blacks bitching about perceived discrimination. Don’t want Police looking at you crosseyed? tell your boys to quit committing most of the GD crime in America. Pretty f*****g simple.

      • This whole “RACISM !!” crap is getting really old.

Where I live, we have a lot of Africans who have moved here in the past couple of decades, and I haven’t seen a single example of any of them being treated any differently than anyone else. That is probably because they act like normal people who just happen to have more pigment in their skin, making their race no more important than their height or weight.

I’m pretty sure if they started to make skin color the only thing that defines them, and started creating a whole culture of hatred and resentment of anyone who is white, started creating a whole culture of anger and surliness and an attitude of being a victim, started committing crimes and being violent, it wouldn’t take long before they established a perception that they were dangerous and not welcome.

And BTW, most of these Africans come from places where, a century or more ago, they were colonized by some white nation and where black people were often abused. But for some reason they haven’t chosen to carry the burden of multi-generational hatred and resentment, and the attitude that now all white people owe them something.

So no, it is NOT just about skin color.

  7. Yet when a family member warns of a mass shooting the police stand down.

Victim less crimes shouldn’t exist. Prohibition does not work.

The war on drugs and guns is a failure. It’s immoral and illegal. It goes against liberty. It’s an authoritarian approach in a country that was defined by its liberty.

    • Good grief, it looks like this Chief Censor character had a lot of spare time for the keyboard today. Can’t scroll down without tripping all over more comments from this guy.

Pace yourself, dude. No need to vomit your thoughts on everything in one puke.

  8. Philly replaced a decent mayor with a radical who turned it into a sanctuary city. The DA hates cops and is a good friend to the criminals. The city is sliding pretty fast downhill.

  9. The Pennsylvania governor is announcing “executive action” on semi auto guns.

I wonder where he got that idea.

  10. Surprise Surprise DA Krasner yet Another Fuckin Commie JEW Bastard. Shoot this Demonic Cunt in his His Ugly Face. Just like in The Bible GOD kept saving the Fuckin Jews & they keep on Turning their Backs on Him then you save them from Hitler & they Vote Overwhelmingly Communist. Commie Jew Bastards – You Too Soros Fucker – I will make sure to lump you Fucks in with your Bretheren Demonic Scuzlimz when the Civil War starts Useless Fucks.

  11. The shooter is a career felon with a long history of resisting police.
Black Lies Matter didn’t make him into what he always was, but it might be argued that if the US Attorneys did their jobs on his prior felon in possessions, he would have been segregated from society.

    • You should pray for the hand of fate to get Alex. he is more dangerous than his evil father. Maybe a immigrant will stab him or put him in a oven. that will bring back pleasant memories for papa

  12. Well this shooter is in big trouble. He will get a year for every cop he shot. Anger management class and good behavior he can be out in 3

  13. I agree with the US Attorney’s comments, but the sad truth is that Liberal cities and states reap the fruits of their Liberal attitudes that put criminals, multi-generation welfare families, and illegals ahead of honest citizens and good cops. This is the future that Cortez and Sanders and Warren would have for America.

The time is now and it’s up to all of us to stand up and support our POTUS and his dedication to America.

  14. The DoJ could correct this by stepping in and removing all the corrupt DAs and city officials who have not done their jobs and violated their oaths of office. But we know the White Guilt Republicans are too afraid of being called racist, they are nothing but spineless mouths.

    • 1. Pass a law requiring that all existing oaths of office be retained and mandatory to hold office
      2. Make the oaths of office binding. That is, they are contractual agreements and if violated the person loses his job—-and all its benefits.

When a mayor or police chief or D.A. or judge has his job and pension on the line, he won’t be as eager to pander to the Left by manipulating or ignoring the law. Take an oath to obey and enforce the law and fail to do so, you have to go find a real job. Take an oath to defend the Constitution and then rule the opposite way from the bench, you aren’t a judge any more. Create a “sanctuary city” to violate federal laws, you are no longer a mayor or a governor.

  15. Silly government employee. Cops owe respect to citizens. We do not owe cops any respect. What puts cops on danger is the massive number of victimless crimes and the “obey me now attitude” of the cops.
When you implement a police state, expect the cops to be hated.
The rights amd property of citizens are more important than the safety of cops.

    • “What puts cops on danger is the massive number of victimless crimes and the “obey me now attitude” of the cops”

Yeah, right. What makes people act like savages and attack the people who are putting their lives on the line to protect them is really that the cops are too bossy and Aunt Sue got busted for prostitution.

How about this? How about a neighborhood identifies itself as a cop-free zone, and then cops don’t go there. Period. For anything. Shootings, lootings, whatever—the people there voted that they would rather deal with being victimized by their own than deal with some bossy poe-leese.

I’m sure cops would prefer to be limited to areas where people respect the work they do and the risks they take and don’t act like uncivilized animals.

BTW, ditto for all First Responders. Ambulances often come under attack in these jungle neighborhoods, too, and even firefighters.

    • Exactly right, Chris. Sad that I had to scroll so far before finding your comment.

The police do not protect us – the courts have ruled over and over again that protecting people is not their responsibility. They are “law enforcement” and they enforce laws. That’s it. They murder people for taking pictures, for not stopping at checkpoints to show their papers, and for refusing to be searched. They murder people for possessing weapons or plants. They murder people for not paying protection money in the form of rent and registration fees to the state. They are the very standing army the founders warned us about.

The cognitive dissonance of gun owners on the issue of police is baffling.

  16. George Soros and all his anti-American mafia types should not be allowed to finance any and all campaigns in the United States ever. He should be considered an enemy of this country and hunted down and hung after he is tried for high crimes he has constantly committed to our country. It seems to me that a devil like him that has made destroying America his only purpose in life should have to pay for his crimes!
