LASD Deputies Shot California

This is the natural result of months of portraying all law enforcement officers as violent, racist thugs. It’s been a constant refrain from protesters, politicians, gun control advocates, and those in the media. Now, the attempted assassination of two Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies has been caught on video as they sat in their car near a Metro rail station.

Almost as disgusting as the shooting itself was that fact that dozens of “protesters” then came to the hospital where the deputies were undergoing surgery to chant, “we hope they die” while blocking emergency access to the hospital for other patients. It’s not clear why they weren’t arrested.

Here’s the Associated Press report:

The shooting of two Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies in an apparent ambush prompted a manhunt for the shooter, reaction from the president and protests outside the hospital where the wounded deputies were being treated Saturday night in California.

The 31-year-old female deputy and 24-year-old male deputy both underwent surgery Saturday evening, Sheriff Alex Villanueva said in a late-night news conference. Both graduated from the academy 14 months ago, he said.

The deputies were shot while sitting in their patrol car at a Metro rail station and were able to radio for help, the sheriff said. Villanueva, whose department has come under fire during recent protests over racial unrest, expressed frustration over anti-police sentiment as he urged people to pray for the officers.

“It pisses me off. It dismays me at the same time,” he said.

The department shared video of the shooting in a Twitter post showing a person open fire through the passenger-side window of the patrol car.

“The gunman walked up on the deputies and opened fire without warning or provocation,” the department stated.

The video sparked thousands of reactions, including from President Donald Trump, who responded, “Animals that must be hit hard!”

Protesters gathered outside the emergency room at the hospital where the injured deputies were being treated.

“To the protesters blocking the entrance & exit of the HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOM yelling “We hope they die” referring to 2 LA Sheriff’s ambushed today in #Compton: DO NOT BLOCK EMERGENCY ENTRIES & EXITS TO THE HOSPITAL,” the sheriff’s department tweeted. “People’s lives are at stake when ambulances can’t get through.”

A radio reporter who was near the protest scene was taken into custody, KABC-TV reported. The sheriff’s department later tweeted that the reporter interfered with the arrest of a male protester.

“The female adult, who was later identified as a member of the press, did not identify herself as press and later admitted she did not have proper press credentials on her person,” the department stated.

Capt. Kent Wegener said officers were blanketing the area in search of the suspect seen on the video opening fire with a pistol.

“We have a very, very generic description,” he said.

The incident happened around 7 p.m. a short distance from the Compton sheriff’s station.

  1. That ought to get more votes for Biden. Wonder what Kamala’s response will be? GOD help us if these animals prevail in November.

    • As a sitting U.S. Senator representing California, as a former California District Attorney, as THE former California Attorney General, and as the future Vice President of the United States, Kamala is going to speak at the funeral. From the pulpit, she will decry the violence of Trump’s America, denounce gun violence, and call on the people of America to stand up against the evil gun culture. I’ve seen her do it at dozens of cop funerals.

      Eric Swalwell 2020

        • The amount of alcohol needed to make me even consider either of them is more than the amount that would wilt the rod. Shudder. Imagine having to gnaw your arm off when you work up with either of them snuggled up against you.

        • Hillary in her youth was doable….. same with that camel toe $lut…..
Also, they would’ve gotten the HARD FKN THEY NEED…. AND WOULDN’T ACT THE WAY THEY DO NOW….

        • “….wouldn’t mind watching her do it either, but not at a funeral.”

Well that’s inconsiderate of them. Don’t those cops know that this is an election year? Nobody is going to any Biden/Harris rallies. But a lot of people would show up to a cop funeral.

          Eric Swalwell 2020

    • God helps those WHO HELP THEMSELVES.

This is just another call for self defense against the Globalist Financed and supported BLM, Antifa, et al. IF our elected officials won’t do it, WE CITIZENS MUST ACT.

I will pray a Rosary for these two fine young officers who will hopefully recover.

    • The line needs to get thicker and it needs to be not only blue.

The people need to stand up for and help defend the officers we put in place to enforce the laws we, the people, created.

When you see police on the street, in their cars, interviewing, detaining, arresting or whatever they do that distracts their situational awareness and focuses it on the task immediately at hand, be their watchman. Be their early warning that something may be amiss.

Don’t just stand around taking video on your cell phone!

      • We should blindly support those who enforce stop and frisk, civil asset forfeiture, red flag laws, and in this case, the sheriff who has called for a complete ban on “ghost guns”?

        I think not.

If they cant decide who is the enemy at this point, and go after criminals instead of those adhering to the Constitution, they will not have my blind support. Nor anyone elses.

I dont care what uniform one wears…if you dont have the principles to stand up for what is right, you dont deserve support.

        • That’s right, too many boot lickers supporting those who will turn on them in a moments notice if their handlers and paychecks told them so.

        • What a mess. Damned if you do, and damned if you don’t. It’s too bad the new cops think everyone is a lieing p.o.s. And yeah when the time comes the thin blue line will do what their masters tell them, house, car, kids college, gotta pay them bills. However with all that I just couldn’t stand idly by and watch a cop get bushwhacked

    • Your comment made me think about whether that idea has any limits.

There’s some investigation and outright rumor into the “Executioners” deputy gang out of the Compton patrol station. Villaneuva denies it, but so did every sheriff before him.

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7gwYbd8lHo

Hypothetically, let’s say the gang exists and those shot are part of this gang. Does the thin blue line cover criminals? If police become what they tried to stop, do you ever stop supporting them?

  2. “The gunman walked up on the deputies and opened fire without warning or provocation,”

Cops sitting in a “marked” police vehicle on the streets of COMPTON? What more provocation do you need? I mean, it’s COMPTON, for fuck sakes…. And no WARNING?… It’s C-O-M-P-T-O-N… How much WARNING do you require when you are parked in the the middle of a WAR ZONE?

    • A warzone that pre-dates BLM or any of the stuff that’s going on right now. Maybe those deputies were specifically targeted because they go after a certain gang. Maybe they were targeted because the deputies were targeting specific activity at a specific location. Maybe it was a gang initiation. Maybe one of the deputies is banging the guy’s mom. Cops have been getting ambushed in gangland L.A. for CENTURIES. If their latest excuse is BLM, who cares? It’ll keep going on long after this BLM pop-culture fad passes out of memory.

      • it sounds like MAXX is simply pointing out the fact that its a warzone and they are painted as targets. It’s the same as soldiers sitting in a HMMWV in Iraq and getting ambushed by Al Queda, or Hezbola, or ISIS, or ISIL, or what ever they call themselves tomorrow. Different excuse, same people, same place, doing the same crap.

        • “The optics of protesters chanting they hope they die is not going to play well in the rest of the country.”

Half of the country, anyways… 🙁

        • “The optics of protesters chanting they hope they die is not going to play well in the rest of the country.”

If only the news media would make a big deal of it, but they won’t. They made a much bigger deal over the fake hate crimes of Juicy Smoley and Bubba Smollett.

        • “The optics of protesters chanting they hope they die is not going to play well in the rest of the country.”

The vast majority of the “rest of the country” won’t see it because the story will be snuffed by the MoFoMedia.

      • You’re going to have to elaborate on that. Why is MAXX scum? What do you find particularly reprehensible about his comments and why?

      • YMIAHO: You really need to have your meds checked, or go play chicken with a freight train or just STFU and go back to your video game…

    • Stuck on NWA and Sir Mixalot? Listening to some of O’Shea Jackson’s tapes again? The pimping game, and the banging moved out of compton years ago. It was gentrified by (white) Hispanics. Once they started moving in black flight happened and took the crack and more violent gangs with them. There are now very few black people left in Compton and South Central. It hasn’t been a war zone in years.

      • Some parts of South LA are actually nice neighborhoods like Baldwin Hills, Windsor Hills (the area near Culver City off Slauson by those oil pump things)

      • Somebody forgot to send the memo to these 80 gangs CURRENTLY listed in Compton/Watts area… The largest concentration of Black gangs in the LA basin…. With a crime rate of 39 per one thousand residents, Compton has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes – from the smallest towns to the very largest cities. One’s chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime here is one in 26. Within California, more than 92% of the communities have a lower crime rate than Compton. In fact, after researching dangerous places to live, NeighborhoodScout found Compton (NOT Compton/Watts) to be one of the top 100 most dangerous cities in the U.S.A. For Compton, we found that the violent crime rate is one of the highest in the nation, across communities of all sizes (both large and small). Violent offenses tracked included rape, murder and non-negligent manslaughter, armed robbery, and aggravated assault, including assault with a deadly weapon. According to NeighborhoodScout’s analysis of FBI reported crime data, your chance of becoming a victim of one of these crimes in Compton is one in 82. Hmmmmmmmm…

      • Clearly you have not been to Compton. Or you could just look up census information. Blacks outnumber whites in the 5 Compton zip codes by a healthy margin. The violent crime rate there is down over a 10 year period, up over the last 4. The crime rate is still triple that of the rest of the CA, and even more so as compared to the rest of the nation. Compton still very much has a gang problem.

    • Step one of the new world order should be a police car pulling up to the emergency room, using the PA to request all who “hope they die” to form up on the right, then open fire, while video records everything. When the riots begin to form, show up with full auto and flamethrowers, do your best to kill them all. After a week, stop and review. Hopefully no more than 10,000 dead, but hey, the world is overpopulated, no real problem.

  3. That suspect should be caught – but never make it to the station. The POS should be dropped in the center of the biggest brush fire out there and then left to cook.

        • if…. what “if” your wrong about that too? How many people want to throw Kyle Rittenhouse in to a fire? He was arrested and charged with multiple counts of murder by law enforcement. How many cops would be glad to hand him over to the mob? What’s stopping them?

      • Stfu you pos… keep your freaky a$$ in that nasty dirty state you reside in…. hopefully your disgusting state will suffer another large earthquake soon….

        • Again, please articulate your position. Why is my mom a nasty ho? What is it that you disagree with? What values do you hold that inform your opinion that my mom is a nasty ho? Who is the man/woman (attack helicopter?) behind all that blind hostility? What makes him/her (it?) tick?

        • well earthqaukes in CA are inevitable. Sooner or later it’ll drop of into the pacific. Protesters, thugs and all………..

      • Catch 8-10, and the same for all. Fuckup was a sagger, execute all saggers for a week. No loss whatsoever, maybe a gain, what’s not to like?

    • Uh….. we let animals flood the borders and give animals everything free like food and housing….
Of course these scum are gonna act like this…. pretty funny when idiots like you defend the animals in one sentence then praise them in the next…. or defend the open borders or feed the drug addict homeless….
All very easy to see coming…. not surprised AT ALL

      • Speaking of george floyd…if he had lived in the wild west or any third world country he never would’ve seen so many days after pointing a gun at someone’s pregnant sister while robbing her…

        • Larry, Larry Larry do you really his mother knew who the father was? Even it was in the old timey west.

        • George Floyd was going to die that night. But not at the hands of the police. He had been encouraged by all Libertarians liberals and leftists to take drugs.

He had so much fentanyl in his system that it would kill him later that night. His lungs had expanded to twice their size. According to the autopsy report. That’s why he kept saying he couldn’t breathe.

Unfortunately he died in the presence of the police. Who made the mistake of leaning on his neck. He would have died latter anyway.

      • “If you can convince the lowest white man he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him someone to look down on and he’ll empty his pockets for you.” Lyndon Johnson, explaining Southern race politics.
And now we’re seeing Republicans convincing worthless white trash like you that you’re the best Americans.

        • LBJ was a very shrewd politician who saw things clearly.

A great American philosopher put it best:

“Everybody needs somebody to look down on, folks you can feel better than anytime you please.

Someone doing something dirty decent folks can frown on.”

    • Remember that girl (actually trans) that NPR interviewed about her book on the joy and importance of looting? Well that author’s twitter handle was Vicky_ACAB. Why didn’t the news media push back against the prejudiced hate of an entire group of people? Why wouldn’t an interviewer ask about that? One must assume that the media agrees, or is at least willing to ignore it for the sake of the movement. Agreeing with the hate and/or ignoring it is what got us here.

      • To give you a feel for where the news media stands about an hour ago NPR had a 10 minute segment about how being against pedophilia and supporting orgs that fight trafficking and abuse is a bad thing because right wingers are.

        • It’s beyond absurd at this point. I used to actually listen to NPR every weekday while driving. Then it became all about race baiting and whitey hatred, and of course, the latest TDS topic. I was on the road a couple of years ago, and there was nothing on the radio, so I thought I would just check out NPR. Not to my surprise, they had a guest talking about how terrible white people were. I don’t understand how reasonable democrats ignore this, unless they just aren’t aware of it.

My immediate family is 100% democrat by the way. I don’t really talk much politics with them, but when anything comes up, they are always legitimately ignorant of the details.

  4. “We hope they die.”- BLM.

Folks, that’s all you need to know about Black LIES Matter.

BLM is about supremacy. Not equality. They are a racial supremacy organization, same as the Nazis or Klan.

    “Death to America”- Antifa.

Antifa is their Al Queda like ally. Vanilla ISIS.

    • Agree. They think that, somehow, SJWs will hand the keys to our society over to 13% of the population, for them personally to rule over forever. Somebody previously mentioned these assholes are seriously stupid. When the shackles are shrugged off, they will end up 3% of the population, and that 3% will be the Charles Paynes and the Tim Scotts, the productive citizens who are not asking for anything more than a chance, just like the rest of us. You need special treatment? Step into this line over here.

  5. Disgusting behavior from “peaceful protesters” who showed up at the hospital where the 2 officers where brought, carrying signs and chanting “We hope you die” Are these people actualy human or are they just zombies who are just soulless creatures. And of course, legal law abiding gun owners will be the focus of all the politicization to “get guns off the streets” How about getting the criminals and crazy leftist out of society instead?

  6. On the plus side both deputies weren’t killed on the spot. Eventually the BLM types are going to wise up and start using rifles.

    • Rifles are too high profile and hard to conceal and present rapidly (without training). Handguns are the preferred weapon of choice of assassination in an urban gangland environment….. also, targeting cops is a good way to get your gang/criminal organization dismantled. There are A LOT of gangs doing A LOT of gang stuff and it’s hard for law enforcement to decide who to go after. Kill a kid, kill a cop, kill a mom, kill old folks…. you and your gang just made the decision easy. Nobody’s going to protest in the street over that guy or his gang when the cops go after them.

        • Tell that to the urban gang bangers. They still *mostly* use handguns to assassinate each other and cops. As the practicing subject matter experts, I defer to their expertise.

        • Their expertise? Again, bruh… the experts run ops with that shit on a 550 cord sling tucked in their kuhl jacket in an SUV or a Benz and assassinate entire platoons.
          and
The CIA has not provided American gangbangers with 4.5″ bufferless variants… yet.

      • Also, by that mentality there would be no more gangs in America. You don’t think they’d protest? They do it for every other criminal.

        Just stop.

        • Dead would-be cop killers get protests all the time a-la Michael Brown, Rayshard Brooks, etc. Dead cop killers, no… they never get protests.

Gangs are a by-product of society. Get rid of a gang, and an other is going to take its place eventually in some form.

  7. Part of me feels terrible for those two law enforcement officers — I don’t want to see anyone injured/killed.

Another part of me feels like law enforcement officers who violate the United States Constitution and forcibly disarm good people — thus effectively becoming accessories to violent criminals for ensuring that good people cannot stop violent criminals — deserve the same punishment as any other criminal accessory.

    • Where are LEO’s “…forcibly disarming good people…”? Do you mean oath breaking elected state and local government people enacting unconstitutional laws and ordinances? Where are LEO’s actively rounding up and confiscating firearms?

        • uncommon didn’t state exactly which cops he felt were in the wrong and Baldwin asked “where” cops were forcibly disarming people.

I provided a where to answer that question. The fact that it’s not near where the shooting in this story took place isn’t really relevant to the conversation that’s actually taking place in this sub-thread because this conversation isn’t specific to that event.

If that bothers you then take it up with the OP.

        • Uncommon linked the two sentiments. He felt bad about cops being killed. Then he implied that cops kinda have it coming because cops take law abiding people’s guns away. I personally think the cops that went along with arresting the Mccloskey’s and seizing their guns should have their asses handed to them. But, street cops getting killed in L.A. by thugs has nothing to do with paper cops violating the 2nd ammendment in Maryland.

        • “Uncommon linked the two sentiments.”

No. He stated the juxtaposition of personal feelings he has that vary between a specific and a general case. He underlined the separation by use of this thing called “paragraph structure”. He also didn’t imply anything, he stated it.

“But, street cops getting killed in L.A. by thugs has nothing to do with paper cops violating the 2nd ammendment in Maryland.”

First, did I say that it did? No, I didn’t. I specifically answered a rather broad question of “where” posed by another person. If you find think that question wasn’t germane to the topic, or was overbroad, then take it up with them.

Secondly, these cops getting killed also had nothing to do with any of the other black folks killed by police. But in a sense, depending on the motivations of the shooter, these cops may have had something to do with those killings because that’s how “symbols” work.

        • People talk big sh*t about the Federalist Papers. And really don’t want to support backing up their words with action.
          1. The Bundy Ranch.
          2. Waco Tx. Where the Feds burned a church to the ground with nearly 100 worshipers still inside.
          3. Ruby Ridge.
          4. The confiscation of guns from Katrina storm survivors in Louisiana.

The Tree of Liberty is thirsty.

I don’t think every cop is bad like so many cop haters on TTAG. But if you tell me “I was Just following orders”, when you take part in, a No knock raid, a Red Flag gun confiscation. Then you are the enemy.

They only way our current system continues is if we have honest local government. Historically american civilians have always had more of and the most advanced weaponry.
The local police, not so much. Also civilians shoot more than cops do. Going to the range and practicing, on your day off, is like being at work. For the police. And many don’t like it. So they don’t go shooting.

      • Cops enforce the laws those politicians pass in CA, NY, NJ, IL and any others. If the Cops said “Um, no. We aren’t going to enforce your bullshit gun laws.” then they would be off the hook. But “I was just following orders.” went out the window as an acceptable excuse at Nuremberg back in the ’40s. So cops enforcing gun laws are culpable.

I do not think all cops deserve to be shot. I agree with Uncommon. I am torn on this topic. There is a line there somewhere between cops who deserve to be shot and cops who don’t. Maybe there are also a bunch of cops who just deserve lesser punishments from firing to being horse whipped. But it’s fuzzy and hard to nail down.

        • We are muddling this.

With this specific situation, unless other relevant info is presented, couldn’t ever be justified…by normal people…

Guy who kicks down your door at 2am to take your guns because they are on the wrong list…different story.

        • Crimson, we’ve agreed on some topics, but I firmly disagree with you on this one. I’m in Los Angeles, and these two Deputies were sitting in their vehicle when a thug walked up and attempted to murder them. There was no provocation by the Deputies. No “Don’t Tase Me Bro” or “I Can’t Breathe” involved. Simply a street thug wanting to murder two people in uniform.

Crimson, you surely can’t be advocating for this.

If anyone needs to be shot dead as a result of this incident, it’s the thug.

      • Baldwin,

Law enforcement officers have forcibly disarmed — both directly and indirectly — thousands/millions of good people in our nation who had/have no malicious intent and only harbor good will toward their fellow citizens.

Every time a cop busted a good person for nothing other than the phony “crime” of carrying a firearm (whether concealed or openly) without malicious intent has forcibly disarmed that good person and violated that person’s inalienable right to liberty and self-defense.

Every time that a good person wanted to carry a firearm for pleasure and/or self-defense without malicious intent — and yet did not fearing that law enforcement would bust them for it — all law enforcement officers who would bust that person has forcibly disarmed him/her and has violated that person’s inalienable right to liberty and self-defense.

Law enforcement officers who readily bust good people (for exercising liberty and self-defense without malicious intent) are heinous and vial — they are no better than a violent criminal’s accomplice who threatens to royally jack you up for being able to stop his partner who is a violent criminal.

Do law enforcement officers do some incredibly wonderful and honorable things? Absolutely and they should be lauded and rewarded for those actions. Do law enforcement officers do some incredibly heinous and unrighteous things? Absolutely and they should be condemned and punished for those actions.

I will leave you with two simple questions:
Suppose you have a good neighbor who has no ill will nor malicious intent toward you. Regardless, you promise to ruin your neighbor’s life if he/she possess a firearm on the public street in front of your homes. Is that righteous? Obviously not. Well then why is it righteous if a law enforcement officer does the exact same thing?

      • Baldwin and California Richard,

Go stand on a busy street corner in Los Angeles County with a large, easy-to-read sign which says

        I am a good person.
I have no malicious intent to attack/harm anyone.
I have a loaded handgun under my shirt.
        I have no government licenses.

And see whether law enforcement smiles and shakes your hand or busts you for the “crime” of carrying a concealed firearm without a license.

There are two problems in that scenario:
        1) Government has declared that exercising liberty and self-defense are crimes.
        2) Government enforcers will bust you — forcibly disarming you and ruining your life.

That is worse than street thugs doing the same simply to enhance their ability to rob, beat, rape, and or murder you. Why is that worse? The primary role of government is to secure our rights, NOT to screw us over for righteously exercising our rights with no malicious intent.

      • In California, for one. It’s called the Armed Prohibited Persons System. Sounds well intentioned enough, until you find yourself on their list erroneously or if you are a lawful firearms owner who happens to cohabitate with a prohibited possessor. Your guns go bye-bye, too.

    • Interestingly, in a hypothetical civil war or collapse, southern California would very much likely be occupied by the cartels for a decent length of time. During that time, these people can learn first hand what real oppression feels like.

      • The cartels are already firmly established in southern California. Everything south of Camp Pendleton, is effectively cut off by active duty U.S. COMBAT ARMS troops. In a civil war that whole area will be federally militarized so the U.S. can maintain access to the Pacific Ocean. The battle ground will be L.A. and everything north. If the cartels want to play games at that point, they will have to deal with U.S. Marines and Army mechanized infantry.

    • “We can’t get in with an ambulance, people’s lives are in danger”

In a perfect world, the only lives at risk would be those of the “peaceful protesters” under the ambulances.

If I were a Paramedic, I’d honk, I’d turn the sirens on, and then I’d go right through them at 5mph, unless one or more of them posed a significant threat, then it’d be pedal to the metal. If they want to die, it’s their choice.

  8. Obviously there was no justification for this or people showing up at the hospital like that.

That said, it does seem like the officers should have had a better awareness of their surroundings. I obviously don’t know their SOPs but it seems like having one of them exit the vehicle and set keep an eye on things would be a good idea.

Hopefully no one has to die or get permanently crippled for this lesson to be learned. Here’s to a speedy recovery for both of them and a quick apprehension of the suspect. [Hopefully with the latter NOT sparking yet another riot.]

    • “…and a quick apprehension of the suspect. [Hopefully with the latter NOT sparking yet another riot.]”

The two cops being shot should defuse a hair-trigger on the residents, I would hope. I hope the cops keep cool on that.

And for some weird reason, watching the shooter move gave me the impression that was a female and not a male…

      • In this area? I doubt it.

This isn’t very far away from where B-Real was shot, one of the local hospitals is known as “Killer King” (Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital) because so many GSW victims die there. Go watch B-Real talk about being there for a few weeks where bangers fought each other in the hospital and shootings happened between visitors to the hospital in the visitors’ parking lot.

The area’s a fucking war zone from what I know about it. Go watch the videos of the people who showed up at the hospital. Yikes.

Best case here is that the shooter gets smoked by some bangers over this so no one can blame the cops because if the cops catch the shooter and anything happens it’s not likely to go well in L.A..

        • “Best case here is that the shooter gets smoked by some bangers over this so no one can blame the cops…”

Yep, they aren’t gonna be happy about the increased heat about to come down, so that makes rational sense for them to deliver the shooter’s head on a metaphorical pike…

        • Nobody cares about “LA”…. that’s so NOT the point behind all this….. god help America from these people… and you… so so dumb

        • ‘Nobody cares about “LA”’

Right. Like no one cares about Minneapolis, or Chicago or New York. No one. Doesn’t matter at all. It’s totally not a thing that’s intentionally spread to other areas by politically motivated fucktards who found a “martyr”.

And I’m “…so [sic] so dumb”. Cool story bro, which color paint chips are your favorite?

        • No “killer king” got its name because gangsters were going into the hospital to find their rivals and shoot them laying in their hospital bed. Assassinations have even occurred in the emergency room right after the wounded gangster was offloaded from the ambulance.

The killers just followed them to the hospital and into the ER.

        • Actually Chris that hospital was also known for killing patients through substandard care. It was the indigent hospital in the area where they dropped all the people who had no insurance. It was overwhelmed and understaffed.

In that regard it was the way some VA hospitals were/are. “Don’t leave through the basement” being the watchword.

      • Look again. Shooter was clearly a sagger, wearing his britches below his ass with his unders waving in he breeze, crotch below his knees, which I have yet to see a female do. Possibly because it advertises an IQ significantly short of 3 digits, say, mid-moron area.

    • Strych9,

I’ve been reading ‘Left of Bang’; it is based upon the training Marines in Irag and Afghanistan received on how to continually assess your surroundings for signs that risk has increased. Situational awareness, reading how people move and interact.

I wonder if our police receive such training. Seems like they could benefit.

      • Some do. One of the authors runs a training program for cops that teaches it. I think it’s the Van Horne guy.

Also, that’s why the published version you have is different from the USMC version, it’s the civilian edition meant for civilians like… the police.

It’s a good book in that form though. Still plenty-o-useful information.

    • Someone with perfect tactical awareness would always be constantly scanning with a hand on your gun ready to face any threat. In the real world, it’s not possible to maintain that for 10 hours a day, 4-6 days a week. You would lose your mind. It’s just not in the human condition to be like that all the time. It’s part of the reason why even though modern conflict doesn’t include nearly as many big battles and significant casualties, PTSD is still rampant. That constant state of mental stress is damaging.

Sometimes you have to write reports in your car on the MDC. Sometimes you just need to pull over and discuss how a call went. So you don’t pull over in the hood besides a dark alley at night where someone can appear out of the dark and start blasting. You stop in a well-lit area with reasonable lines of visibility. But sometimes shit just happens. If you’re scanning everything with your back to a wall with mirrored sunglasses maybe someone leans down out an apartment window and shoots you.

Hell, lots of departments- especially rural ones- only have one-man cars unless they’re training. It’s fine to think about how to best protect yourself from the unlikely but the fact is that as long as cops are out patrolling rather than sitting behind a wire until dispatched, they’re always vulnerable. If someone wants to kill a cop… they can.

      • Obviously “they can” kill a cop. No security created by man cannot be defeated by man.

But cops can make it harder. Christ, setting security when the vehicle stops isn’t exactly rocket science and it doesn’t require 24/7 anything. There’s TWO of them. One can write the report, dick with the computer or whatever and the other can keep their eyes up for the duration of whatever the other is doing.

  9. I don’t know if it is distortion in the photo, but it looks like that shooter’s head barely comes to the level of the police car roof.

  10. BLM wants the po-leese defunded. OK, you got it. Any neighborhood that is identified as a majority black neighborhood will, from this point forward, no longer receive any police or emergency services.

The problem is solved, you got your defunded police and we get to watch the resulting shenanigans.

    • No police, no emergency services, no welfare, no unemployment compensation, no AFDC, no gov’t housing, no Child Tax Credit, on and on, y’all need to move out. In a week, we’ll come back and kill anybody who’s still there.

  11. It isn’t all of the 13%, it’s only about 16% of the 13% (or about 2.1% of the US population – approximately 7 million total) and some are females.

We need better law enforcement, better prosecution, and more prisons. Prosecute violent criminals to the fullest extent of the law and lock them up without any eligibility for parole. Make them serve their full sentences.

However, if any of them get killed during the commission of their crimes by armed citizens or police will benefit society by lowering incarceration costs.

  12. It doesn’t matter if you are Press, or “Press” or “Mostly Peaceful ProtesterRioter”, or “Bystander”.
If you don’t commit a crime, you shouldn’t be arrested.
If you do commit a crime, you don’t have a First Amendment Right to not be arrested for it.

Kicking her out without charges because she’s “press without credentials on her person at the time” is ridiculous.

  13. I know this is just another day to the majority of you, but to the others this is a big sign of things to come…. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT YET???? OR WILL IT TAKE MANY MORE KILLINGS BEFORE YOU FINALLY SEE WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE??

  14. Alex Villanueva is a wimp. He’s knowingly letting criminals block entrances to a hospital and not doing a damn thing about it. It’s time to break out the batons and bean bag rounds, girly man.

    • Past time for bean bags. One warning to disperse, second warning to disperse or live ammo will be used. No third warning

  15. These Police officers and Thousands more across Our Nation are suffering under the same Rules of Engagement Our Military did under the OBIDEN Regime. Which cost Hundreds of Lives Lost or Crippled Forever. These Officers are in a WAR Zone and They can’t shoot until being shot at. As far as I’m concerned the Politicians,Judges, Bureaucrats who are Defunding and Dismantling Our Police and National Identity are a greater danger than the BLM,Antifa and Generic Thugs committing these and other crimes. It is obvious that the point of Impasse has been reached in many parts of OUR Nation. A point where the old ways of changing leadership have failed to produce a Society that Protects it’s Citizens from the Evils that prey upon it. These places are being controlled by people whose Obvious Agenda is to destroy the very fabric of Our Great Nation through the use the MSM to push the narrative that the Police and anyone who disagrees with their Ideology is the enemy. The time for a Well Regulated Militia of Freedom/Liberty believing Citizens is Nigh. The Enemy is not only among Us it is in Control of many of US. Who among you truly in your heart believes the forthcoming election is going the provide the needed changes to Right this Nation on it’s path of Greatness? Do you believe the Enemy will simply give up if they are defeated at the ballot box? Which considering the corruption being presented doesn’t guarantee a victory or a result that will be accepted by either side. I fear many parts of Our Great nation have already been lost. Possibly Forever. A Society that Fears the Consequence of Fighting for Their Freedom/Liberty…More than They Fear the Loss of those Freedoms/liberties…Have become Subjects and Tyranny Has Prevailed.
    Keep Your Powder Dry

  16. To quote Donut Operator. “Quit policing. Fuck em all. Let the world sort itself out.” But of course they’ll just catch and release the little manlet while going off to arrest the Korean guy (or any other productive member of society who happens to be there like they did in 92) trying to protect his business.

    • The cops take the guns and brutalize the citizenry. Eventually a few men get tired of it and do something. Then the cops say they won’t show up to calls for help if their demands are not met.

Sounds like respectable Americans doing god’s work.

  17. elect too many democrats for too long a time in a city or a county or a state or a country and these kinds of things are eventually going to happen
just like churning milk eventually produces butter and twisting the nose eventually produces blood
what we are witnessing here is the natural order of things
    nothing else
if grown ups arent in charge the children quickly grow beyond their control and turn wild and then become everybody elses problem
this is a teachable moment for anyone interested in learning a lesson from it

  18. The cops are reaping what they have spent decades sowing. They have been at war on the American people for decades. Now some are fighting back against the tyranny.

I will get upset about cops being “ambushed…without warning or provocation” when cops stop ambushing Americans and shooting them without warning or provocation. Ryan Whitaker, Duncan Lemp, and Breonna Taylor would agree with me, but they were all murdered in their homes by cops without any provocation. The life of a citizen is worth the lives of 1000 cops.

    • Remember when it was open season on cops back when Obama was president? That seemed to stifle the growth of BLM for awhile. Why didn’t High IQ Joe solve the problems back then? How soon we forget.

    • Do you pray for these types of people? Do you support the Executioners running around trying to shoot brown or black people to get into the gang? Do you support the gang culture of the LA Sheriff Office that has been around for decades? Do you pray for Chicago gang members or their associates when they get shot in gang warfare?

Be careful who you support and defend as the good guys.

      • An insider claimed the Executioners were involved in a murder of an 18 year old security guard, who appears to have been unarmed and running away from the deputies when he was shot in the back numerous times. Seems like the LASD is covering that up. This killing happened in Compton.

So no surprise an American decided to use the 2nd Amendment when the government is allowing the Executioners and other cop gangs to murder and brutalize residents. Just wait until the street gangs decide to stop shooting at each other and shoot back at the police.

      • Do you support the Executioners running around trying to shoot brown or black people to get into the gang?

Do you know for a FACT that either of these cops (on duty for a whole 14 months) had been running around trying to shoot brown or black people to get into the gang? Or do you just say fuck em all, shoot the uniform… A black guy rapes a woman so fuck em all shoot ANY black guy, they’re ALL the same, right? (by your reasoning)…

  19. Never understood why at least some LE vehicles in some sectors don’t have bullet proof or resistant glass. It just seems logical to protect the officers and especially now when we know there are some who will be inspired to become infamous by assassination of LEOs.

I know it’s expensive and heavy but that’s why it would only be used for certain vehicles in certain sectors.

Last but not least and not blaming the victims but jimminy crickets why didn’t they have their heads on a swivel? I guess they just got lax and that’s always a killer in dangerous ground with unknown enemies.

    • Expensive, heavy, and generally doesn’t allow windows to be rolled down (important for patrol).

The expensive part is the problem, though. “Defund the police,” right?

  20. People were arrested for blocking areas. The protesters were shouting at the deputies because the deputies were scared and pointing guns at protesters. The sheriff was also scared and put on rifle armor.

This sheriff office has committed many acts of violence without ever being prosecuted. They even have gangs within the office that the sheriff knows about but does not stop. The gangs within the office have initiations into the gang that require violence on behalf of the prospect to make into the gang. The sheriff is also very anti gun and tried to shut down all the gun stores so no one other than cops can buy guns. The sheriff also denies CCWs for those that are not connected with the inner circle.

There is many things for the LA country residents to be angry about when it comes to the behavior of the LA country sheriff office. Remember the people that voted this man in are socialists or communists who are very anti gun.

The 2nd Amendment is all about standing up to government. This attack didn’t look to be a boog boi, more like an angry black lives matter guy, considering how ineffective the attack was and how it’s more of an emotional type hit. The other deputy attack was done by a boog boi from the military police anti terror team, he killed a few feds and deputies.

California has some of the nations worst police and deputies. An Orange county deputy was arrested on numerous felonies for stealing from a dead man’s home, he even stole an AR-15 (what does a cop need a stolen “assault weapon” for?).

The anger against the government is not unfounded, it’s not some media created hoax. It’s generations of oppressive acts done by the police and deputies of the state. California was once a Republican state, now it’s essentially a one party controlled state where the police are enforcers of the communists’ rules.

Heck, the police even uses helicopters to follow brown or black drivers into predominately white neighborhoods to stop them and search after they break a traffic law! They recently shot a black man dead while he was running away because he had a gun on him (as you know California does not accept the 2nd Amendment for non government residents).

    • The attack on LA county deputies is likely a reaction to the killing of another black man who was being harassed by deputies for riding a bicycle against the rules. That man ran because he was carrying a gun, which is not allowed by California politicians especially the LA Sheriffs Office. The man got in a tussle with a deputy, tried to punch him and run away. He dropped some clothes he was using to hide his gun. The deputy shot the man numerous times as he tried to run and another deputy ran up to also shoot the man numerous times while he was laying on the ground from the first few shots that dropped him. There was no bodycams because the government doesn’t want them and they are not yet forced to have them. The sheriff office makes it sound as if the black man tried to shoot the deputies when video evidence shows no such attempt and he was unarmed (due to dropping the gun) when he was mag dumped on.

Also a few months prior to shooting in Pasadena of the fleeing black man because he had a gun on him, a former Marine and cop (I guess a boog boi) decided to take on the same police department. He drove around trying to catch the attention of the helicopter or the ground units by violating traffic laws. They eventually killed him and accidentally shot their own officer.

Ignorant people will say there is no justifiable reason to shoot at government in places like California, those people don’t care for the United States Constitution and fighting communism. There are plenty of usurpations that can’t fit on a single piece of paper at this point. Californians rather flee to Texas than do what the founders called for and did themselves.

      • “Ignorant people will say there is no justifiable reason to shoot at government in places like California, those people don’t care for the United States Constitution and fighting communism.”

So you believe in collective guilt? You think police officers minding their own business deserve to be assassinated because someone that looks like them did something bad? This is the sort of logic people end up with when they have no morals.

        • So all those American soldiers should have refused to shoot Germans until they made sure the German soldiers were murdering Jews first? And the US shouldn’t have committed genocide on Japan by dropping two nukes on civilians because the Japanese government and their soldiers attacked Americans first?

          Illogical.

      • I look forward to you and your Liberal /Leftist friends getting your wish to come true. . The police being abolished.

Because then the only ones with guns will be conservatives. Some liberals may have recently purchased guns. But they’re too late. Because there’s no ammo left. And the conservatives have more guns and more ammo.

  21. Damn 12 year olds still runnin around B O M P T O N clappin cops. Ain’t nothing new but still terrible news. Hope they catch and roast that punk bitch who did this

  22. With all the gun restrictions in Commiefornia this couldn’t possibly happen. Isn’t there a law against shooting police? Obviously just bowing off some steam… sarc

    • ” So if it’s open season on cops where does that leave the rest of us? ”

It leaves us with open season on whites.

If you follow the BLM/Antifa narrative, that would be the next inevitable step. We’ve gone from “peaceful protests” to riots, and now to assassinations and executions. Today it’s limited to cops, because the narrative says all cops are bad, therefore killing a cop is a revolutionary act.

But, follow the narrative. White people have also been declared bad, all of them are guilty of the collective sin of systemic racism, all of them have benefitted from their white privilege… and on and on, ad nauseum. Sooner or later, as we continue to circle the drain, shooting a white person… any white person, anywhere, any time… also becomes a revolutionary act.

Of course, any revolutionary act garners a counter-revolutionary act. A black man shoots a white man, so a white man shoots a black man… and the farther we go down the drain, the more common it all becomes, and before you know it, it’s a full-scale race war.

If we don’t put a stop to all the incendiary rhetoric, it’s got nowhere else to go.

  23. Amazon has a book with first person accounts of attacks on police. It’s called The Red Dot Club by retired cop Robert Rangel. Very intense reading.

  24. These armed gang wars have been occurring for quite some time, there is a history of corruption and oppression of the minority citizens:

“The Rampart scandal involved widespread police corruption in the Community Resources Against Street Hoodlums (CRASH) anti-gang unit of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Rampart Division in the late 1990s. More than 70 police officers either assigned to or associated with the Rampart CRASH unit were implicated in some form of misconduct, making it one of the most widespread cases of documented police corruption in U.S. history, responsible for a long list of offenses including unprovoked shootings, unprovoked beatings, planting of false evidence, stealing and dealing narcotics, bank robbery, perjury, and the covering up of evidence of these activities.”

The communities do not forget the long term systemic oppression by armed government goons.

“A riot is the language of the oppressed.”

      • I agree murder is wrong and the perpetrator of this crime should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

But the systemic corruption and minority oppression by police departments is the root cause of the community unrest that led to this shooting. People are humans, with all their faults, among them being a lack of tolerance for continued abuse.

  25. And the police corruption in LA continues today.

But don’t be alarmed, citizens, the police are investigating themselves so you know it will be a fair and thorough investigation, right?

“The first round of the LAPD’s investigation into allegations that members of its elite Metro Division falsely portrayed people as gang members or associates could be completed within days.

“I don’t mean this to go on for months or years,” Chief Michel Moore said. “I will make a finding on the basis of the completed investigation as to appropriate disposition — whether that be sustained acts of misconduct, including the potential criminality of that…. If I were to recommend, for instance, termination, that would be a direction or board rights, a tribunal through our discipline system.”

Several officers across the city are suspected of falsifying field interview cards from traffic stops and entering incorrect information about those questioned in an effort to boost stop statistics. Moore said the investigation initially focused on three officers and expanded to others who worked with the original three and then on to others who worked with a second group. Now, at least 20 officers are under investigation.”

  26. True “situational” awareness.. Biden responds to two deputies shot in Compton (with a handgun)..

    Joe Biden
    @JoeBiden
Weapons of war have no place in our communities.

We need to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
    8:20 PM · Sep 13, 2020

Aren’t those “Weapons of war, and high capacity mags already banned in CA… Go get em Creepy Uncle Joe..
