FBI Releases Pro-2nd Amendment Statement, States the Importance of Armed Citizens in America

FBI recognizes the importance of good guys with guns . . .

There were 50 active shooter incidents in 2016 and 2017 combined, leaving many to question if America is, in fact, safer when armed.

However, a recent investigation by the FBI in April showed that, in numerous incidents involving active shooters, there were people who stopped them by use of a weapon.

“Armed and unarmed citizens engaged the shooter in 10 incidents. They safely and successfully ended the shootings in eight of those incidents,” read the report. “Their selfless actions likely saved many lives.

“The enhanced threat posed by active shooters and the swiftness with which active shooter incidents unfold support the importance of preparation by law enforcement officers and citizens alike.”

I Lost a Child to Gun Violence—This is What I Want for Mother’s Day

From a mother who lost a child at Sandy Hook . . .

Strip every ounce and angle of politics from the gun violence conversation and what are you left with? Pain, grief, trauma— all often met with silence. Because no one wants to think about gun violence on Mother’s Day, or on any day. It is too frightening. It is too real. It is easier to convince ourselves it is something that happens to “other people,” or something that can be “prayed away.” My husband recalls that the night before Ana’s murder consisted of the usual routine—praying with the children in English and Spanish. And we couldn’t pray it away. A mother’s love could not protect her. That’s not how bullets work. That’s not how any of this works.

I hear over and over again from moms in my situation that their support systems fall part. The all consuming pain of grief can impact the ability to make and maintain connection— even among family and close friends. I hear from mothers that even gun violence prevention groups often fail to care for the hearts of those moms most wounded. Public activism is seen as strength, and private grieving is seen as weakness. What gets lost is that strength and activism should not be conflated. Strength is grieving and surviving this. Strength is finding identity and your own voice again. Strength is finding love and hope and light in a world where you have seen a casket lowered in the ground— when that casket has your child in it. Sometimes this includes public activism. Sometimes strength is brushing your teeth. Strength is however that mother defines it.

The Strange Case of Dick’s

When virtue signaling is more important than your shareholders . . .

Dick’s CEO cares more about his standing with (his peers) than about his company’s profitability. If I were a Dick’s shareholder, this would make me very unhappy. So far, Dick’s anti-gun activism doesn’t seem to have hurt the company’s value; not much, anyway. But Stack’s admission that his virtue signaling likely will lose shareholders’ money is remarkable.

If he had said that he expects consumer good will from his anti-gun moves to negate any adverse reaction from gun owners and civil rights advocates, he would have been immune from suit under the business judgment rule. But if Dick’s share price drops, or fails to keep pace with its industry, Stack’s admission is virtually an invitation to a class action lawsuit on behalf of shareholders.

Grandfather planned Australia family murder-suicide according to grieving father

Did he not see signs that this was a possibility? . . .

The grieving father of four children who were killed in a family mass murder and suicide case that rocked Australia said on Sunday their grandfather was to blame for what he called a planned shooting. …

(Aaron) Cockman, who told reporters in Margaret River he was estranged from Katrina, said “Peter didn’t snap”.

“I think he’s thought this through. I think he’s been thinking this through for a long time,” Cockman added in his first public comments since the shootings.

Quick Release Of New Jersey Gun Data Called Trailblazing, Troubling

And the award for today’s most overblown article title goes to . . .

After New Jersey’s release of near-real-time firearms trafficking data, gun control advocates say it as a trailblazing use of federal information.

But Second Amendment advocates and skeptical Republicansquestion whether the report amounts to a way around a federal limitation on the release of some data.

Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy unveiled the data for the first time on Tuesday as part of a campaign promise to strengthen New Jersey’s already-tight gun laws.

The report uses Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives gun-trace data for the first quarter of 2018 and shows that 77 percent of guns used in crimes in New Jersey come from out of state.

  1. “Dick’s anti-gun activism doesn’t seem to have hurt the company’s value”? What are you smoking. In the last year the stock has dropped by 1/3 in a booming market. The minority shareholders should have that SOB CEO in court to recover the money they have lost due to his political BS.

    • Dick’s public anti-gun announcements just came out in early April and their stock has mostly stayed about flat since then. Whatever happened last summer is not related to their recent antics.

    • Not only did Dick’s nosedive start earlier than the anti-gun moves, but it isn’t all that different than most retail (box store) establishments outside of Wal Mart.

  2. As far as this New Jerseys report goes.
    So what??
Most guns used by criminals have to come from someplace. What state they came from proves nothing.
This isn’t news. Doesn’t say a thing that means anything.

    • I find it also very interesting that New Jersey’s border states Pennsylvania and Delaware which have more lax gun laws don’t have higher crime rates than New Jersey. One would think if criminals were obtaining those evil weapons from those states they could save gasoline by doing their violent crimes in the state where they obtained their guns. It’s almost as if it was criminals, rather than the tools they use, that are actually responsible for crimes. One could also hypothesize that criminals are less likely to attempt violent crimes where there is an increased probability that they will encounter an armed victim. GOFIGURE

      • Chiraq blames neighboring , lower crime rate, Indiana for their woes.
        Komifornia blames everyone besides themselves.

        Is a pattern developing here?

        • Yeah… Democrats refuse to accept the fact that they are violent uncivilized savages who can’t hold down a legal job, or settle any differences except by shooting people…

        • Yep. Pretty much all Democrats are savages. Whether you’re talking about the Savages out in the street personally mugging people with a gun to take stuff that they didn’t earn, or if are you talking about the Democrats that vote for the government to use guns to take stuff from other people they didn’t earn.

    • When states make it difficult to acquire guns to protect themselves, you can bet that criminals will arm themselves, in most all cases illegally. Solution: Allow New Jersey citizens to acquire firearms easier. Apparently, Democrats believe that criminals shouldn’t be put out of work.

    • “77 percent of guns used in crimes in New Jersey come from out of state.”
Where did the criminals come from?
Where the tools they used come from is immaterial.

Make all guns magically disappear overnight and criminals will keep killing and maiming people.
Take care of your criminals, Jersey and I promise you the guns will not hurt anyone by themselves.

    • An intelligent person might wonder why these criminals export their guns from PA, VA, DE, etc. to NJ. Clearly there’s a higher demand for crime guns in NJ than in these other states.

      • Since law abiding citizens in NJ are not allowed to own guns, there are no or few guns that can be stolen by NJ thugs to use in their criminal activities. So they buy out of state.

The BIG take away for me was the unremarkable observation that “strengthening” gun laws in NJ will have literally NO effect on crime, since stronger gun laws will not prevent guns from coming in from out of state. Doh!

        • It will have an effect. Crime will rise in response to the new improved even LESS able to protect themselves residents. Then, the morons in charge WILL double down to make sure Liberty never rears its ugly head in their neighborhoods. Finally, actual Americans will flee NewJersistan for better climes. We must re-educate them to turn their votes away from leftism.

      • Think of the lost revenue from sales denied! Allow sales for the sake of supporting Dems.
        /s

Can you imagine the confusion that would ensue if someone pointed this out during a finance session?

    • Of course they came from out of state. DUH!! How many gun manufacturers are there in NJ?

Henry is the only one I can think of.

    • “I like the pokey-bit on the end of that Shockwave…”

I believe that is a tool that allows the shotgun to be used for doorway ‘breaching’.

Basically, it lets you press the muzzle of the shotgun firmly up against a door lock or hinge safely.

It leaves room for the muzzle gasses to escape, protecting the barrel from potentially splitting or rupturing…

      • And here I was hoping it was like a spike bayonet that would pop out, you know, for when things get stabby.

      • Pretty sure I’ve seen that “pokey bit” referred to as a “pumpkin puncher” elsewhere…I should get one for my 590…

      • “It leaves room for the muzzle gasses to escape, protecting the barrel from potentially splitting or rupturing…”
And, it’s necessary because it’s impossible for anyone to actually hold the shotgun in such a way that the muzzle is exactly that far from the door. That distance is so important! A half-inch too far, and the buckshot will just bounce off. A quarter-inch too close, and the barrel will completely destroy itself.
I really, really need one of those, because I find myself in a situation where I need to breach a door practically every day.

        • I knock once. If you’re rude enough to make me wait…..

  3. Hey I’m shocked and amazed by the FBI too…Trump involvement?!? Keep it up! I see even less call for gun control in Australia mate. Evil grandpa and all. Dick’s SUCKS😧

    • short answer… yes. FBI is part of the executive branch and, to SOME extent, can be expected to tilt one way or another on some issues. That’s part of the reason groups that are in with BLM etc lost their marbles when Trump won- they can expect that they won’t have a seat at the table like they did with Obama and Holder .

  4. Does this mean I have to start liking the FBI?

Keep appointing conservative judges, Don. I’ll vote for you again.

    • Maybe we can get it back to the days of the true patriotic, anti communist FBI days, when communist sympathizers and radical leftist terrorists were hunted down like they deserve to be.

  5. “…for the first quarter of 2018 and shows that 77 percent of guns used in crimes in New Jersey come from out of state.”

It is a shame, and possibly criminal, that NJ’s disarming citizens creates such criminal activity in other states. They should be concerned about possible lawsuits.

  6. While I feel badly for the grieving mother, the [impossible] elimination of all firearms would only protect her children from gunshots. (I couldn’t find her piece from the link, but I’m guessing that this is her “plan”.)

Loved the NJ “Combating Gun Violence” banner! With what? Sternly-worded Tweets? Signs? More laws (that can be ignored)?

    Puh-leeze!

  7. “77 percent of guns used in crimes in New Jersey come from out of state while 100 percent of the murderers in New Jersey came from inside the state.”

    FIFY, Jersey douchebags.

  8. The FBI’s statement that they ‘support citizens with guns’ is a blatant political lie.
Said lie is proven by their misconduct at Ruby Ridge, Waco and MANY OTHER PLACES
where they have violated the rights of citizens in regards to the Second Amendment.
The FBI along with the DEA, BATFEces and the EPA needs to be DEFUNDED. They are
    ENEMIES OF FREEDOM.

    • AND F ALL communist globalist MFrs.

THE UN AIN’T JUST COMING AFTER YOUR GUNS, THEY’RE COMING AFTER YOUR AMMO.
      http://cpnn-world.org/new/?p=12221

“Exert greater control over ammunition–the component that makes guns lethal.”

JUST LIKE HILLARY GAVE TWO ISLANDS IN THE BERING STRAIT TO RUSSIA (SO THAT WE ABDICATE TERRITORIAL CONTROL – JUST LIKE CHINA MAKING ISLANDS IN THE SOUTH CHINA SEA) THEN SHE SOLD 20% OF U.S. URANIUM STORES TO A RUSSIAN OLIGARCHY, AND SHE AND JOHN KERRY GAVE AWAY LARGE GRANTS TO U.S. COPPER AND ZINC MINING AND STORES TO CHINA. CHINA ALREADY PRODUCES PROCESSED LEAD (Pb) FROM U.S. ORE, BECAUSE EVIL POS ENVIRO-TERRORIST MFR’S FORCED HILLOSH_T TO EXPORT 95% OF U.S. LEAD PRODUCTION.

Obamaturd’s non-deal with Iran is gonna really break open this week and a lot of POS (D) head MFrs are gonna occupy the news, don’t let the POS UN story get buried.

  9. People keep talking about Dick’s losing money over their loss of firearm sales and boycotts by gun owners forgetting their sporting good sales is where the money is along with exercise equipment and bicycles.

Field & Stream may end up hurting and even close but that will not hurt the core company as Dick’s can just make stuff F&S sold available in their stores or more likely online.

Only if local School Districts and sports parks (where applicable) stop using Dick’s as their supplier they are going nowhere.

    • Dick’s won’t be able to pick up the F&S product lines if the manufacturers won’t provide Dick’s with the merchandise that F&S used to sell.

The manufacturers, especially the conglomerates that make more than just guns and ammo, are the key here. We need to keep the pressure on them.

  10. I’m guessing that 90%+ of the illegal drugs come from outside of New Jersey too. I assume some meth and marijuana are produced in-state. So, why is the New Jersey government posting proof that gun bans are ineffective? Are they advocating their repeal and the restoration of freedom to their citizens?

    • Democrats need victims, and oppressors must be punished.
New Jersey is the victim here, and the neighboring states are the oppressors.

  11. “Because no one wants to think about gun violence on Mother’s Day, or on any day. It is too frightening. It is too real. It is easier to convince ourselves it is something that happens to “other people,” or something that can be “prayed away.””

Or because it is rare for gun violence to strike someone who is not already involved in criminal activity.

  12. “When we aren’t sniping unarmed women and burning cultists alive, we endorse the 2nd Amendment.” – FBI

    • Yahoo article mentions A.T.F. former agents working with Gun Control groups like Gabby Giffords , etc. — Jack Booted Thugs follow the Bloomberg – Soros money too.

  13. Pretty compelling demonstration that criminals will get what they need to do their crime things, regardless of the law. (Odd that New Jersey seems so ignorant about criminals, but whatever…)

    This is my shocked face.

  14. “… gun-trace data for the first quarter of 2018 and shows that 77 percent of guns used in crimes in New Jersey come from out of state.”

A percentage instead of an actual number is usually an indication of trying to manipulate data, emotions, or both.

Saying something has doubled in the past month sounds ominous, but when you find out there was one and now there is two it suddenly becomes silly.

  15. If the FBI can bold-faced bullshit you into thinking there’s a need for a Russian invasion WHEN THEY INVENTED/FORMED/AND FUNDED THE THING OUT OF WHOLE CLOTH WHILE CONSPIRING WITH THE CIA AND REST OF THE DOJ AND STATE DEPARTMENT, AND SPYING ON A U.S. CITIZEN FOR PRESIDENT SO THAT THEY COULD HAVE LEVERAGE OVER HIM TO NOT OUT ALL OF THE PREVIOUS OBAMA ADMINSTRATIONS BULLSHIT OVERTHROW OF THE U.S., THEN THE

    WHOLE

    FBI

    GETS

    TO

    FUCK

    ITSELF

This is either a HUGE problem within the FBI, OR WITH THE FBI. If it’s just a problem ‘within’ the FBI, then the non-problem sections better cure their sh_t openly with violence and extreme prejudice. If it’s a problem WITH THE FBI, the rest of us will handle it.
