Maryland Incident Deflates ‘No Guns in School’ Argument – Which is exactly why this story’s disappeared from the news so quickly . . .

Tuesday morning’s school shooting incident in Maryland that left the teen gunman dead after being confronted by an armed school resources officer (SRO) dramatically undermines the argument from anti-gunners that armed security in schools is a bad idea.

The shooter, identified as 17-year-old Austin Wyatt Rollins, was reportedly chased down by St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Deputy Blaine Gaskill. Each reportedly fired one shot in their confrontation at Great Mills High School. The community is about 60 miles southeast from Washington, D.C.

A 16-year-old female and 14-year-old male student were both wounded in the initial shooting after Rollins allegedly pulled a handgun and opened fire.

Maryland has some of the strictest gun laws in the United States. It is extremely difficult, and often impossible, for most adults to get a carry license. The teen gunman violated several existing laws by bringing a gun onto a school campus, carrying it illegally and opening fire.

WATCH: Pissed Off Dad GOES OFF on Principal for Allowing 12-Year-Olds to Hold Gun Control Walkout – How great is it that’s his name is John Gunn? . . .

John Gunn, the father, posted the confrontation at Ventura Unified School District with principal Barbara Boggio on Facebook.

“I want to know who authorized these kids to go out and leave the class when I wasn’t even notified about it,” he said to the school’s principal.

She responded, “As our school planned for who and what, we anticipated something…”

Gunn interrupted asking, “6th graders? 6th graders? When do 6th graders make decisions?”

Teen Arrested After Bringing Loaded Gun to School: Sources – This has to be #fakenews. Didn’t this kid know that it’s illegal for an underage yoot to possess a handgun in the city of New York? . . .

A 15-year-old student at a Brooklyn high school has been arrested after police say he brought a loaded 22-caliber gun to school Tuesday, sources say.

It’s not clear how he came into possession of the gun or how authorities at Midwood High School discovered he had it; police responded to the school after getting a call about it.

The teen was speaking with police at the 70th Precinct stationhouse for processing, the sources said.

Midwood High School does not have metal detectors.

3 Men With Assault Rifle, Handgun and Machete Went Shopping at Walmart, Police Say – No, that’s not the beginning of a joke . . .

The states of Georgia and Mississippi have open-carry laws, meaning licensed gun owners can go around in public displaying their weapons. But businesses still have the right to prohibit weapons on their property.

That’s what happened in a Mississippi Walmart Monday night after three Georgia men went shopping while openly carrying an M-4 assault rifle, a handgun and a machete.

The Commercial Dispatch reports that a Walmart employee called police and then managers asked the men to leave once officers arrived.

Potential For Gun Law Changes Remains Unclear Following Parkland Shooting – The best part: this is from NPR, so you paid for it . . .

The National Rifle Association is facing persistent backlash following the school shooting in Parkland, Florida. But it’s not clear what, if any, real federal changes will come out the Florida tragedy.

Shooter’s caretaker raised concerns with police over his guns – And she hired publicity lawyer Gloria Allred to make sure the world knows how emotionally destroyed she really is. Look for her upcoming memoir, ‘My Nikolas Cruz Nightmare,’ coming to Amazon or a Barnes & Noble near you soon. . .

Deschamps said her family made three 911 calls during that time. She raised concerns about Cruz owning a gun and also told police Cruz had once put a gun to the head of his mother and brother. Each time, police told her there was nothing they could do about her concerns, she said.

“I did everything I could to warn law enforcement about [what] could happen,” she told reporters in a news conference with celebrity attorney Gloria Allred. “I wanted to protect not only my children but also everyone else who might be at risk of being … harmed.”

New Florida gun law used on brother of Parkland school shooter – Zachary can thank Nikolas for the loss of his guns when he sees him in the slammer . . .

Cruz’s defense attorney argued in court that his client was being punished for his brother’s crime with a $500,000 bond, when the amount is usually $25 for misdemeanor trespassing.

On the same day, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office filed the risk protection order to restrict his access to guns using a part of the new Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act, which went into effect earlier this month.

If the risk protection order is granted, “it will prohibit Cruz from possessing and acquiring firearms for a period of time to be determined by the court,” according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.

YouTube Bans Firearms Demo Videos, Entering the Gun Control Debate – Yeah, they “entered” it a long time ago with their arbitrarily applied policies . . .

YouTube will ban videos that promote or link to websites selling firearms and accessories, including bump stocks, which allow a semi-automatic rifle to fire faster. Additionally, YouTube said it will prohibit videos with instructions on how to assemble firearms. The video site, owned by Alphabet Inc.’s Google, has faced intense criticism for hosting videos about guns, bombs and other deadly weapons.

For many gun-rights supporters, YouTube has been a haven. A current search on the site for “how to build a gun” yields 25 million results, though that includes items such as toys. At least one producer of gun videos saw its page suspended on Tuesday. Another channel opted to move its videos to an adult-content site, saying that will offer more freedom than YouTube.

“We routinely make updates and adjustments to our enforcement guidelines across all of our policies,” a YouTube spokeswoman said in a statement. “While we’ve long prohibited the sale of firearms, we recently notified creators of updates we will be making around content promoting the sale or manufacture of firearms and their accessories.”

    • I heard about on the radio in Australia two days ago. The newspapers finally caught up on the incident today in the world news section. It had a whole two column inches.

  1. The Youtube trend is disconcerting and down right concerning. I know Youtube is a privately owned entity and therefore doesn’t have to allow anything that goes against its own rules.

However, it seems like this should be a civil rights case (both 1A and 2A). If a bakery can be forced to make a LGBT cake then Youtube should be forced to play 2A videos.

    • And Google is another California based monopoly that should have already been fined billions and split up. (See Microsoft and AT&T.) The only reason this hasn’t happened yet is because Google is led by hardcore leftist who funnel money to leftist politicians via bribes…I mean “speaking fees”.

    • California, where YT is based, has some very interesting laws on ‘assumed public’ spaces and the rights of the public within them.

It would not be a stretch to apply these to the ‘assumed public’ spaces of social media.

    • “If a bakery can be forced to make a LGBT cake then Youtube should be forced to play 2A videos.”

Can we just drop this comparison? It’s apples-to-oranges. The bakery (and later the photographer in NM) are not good analogies because they were both taken to court on state regs/laws rather than federal ones.

As much as I disagree with the outcome in both cases both defendants broke the law of the state in which they resided and ended up paying the piper for it. Sometimes that’s just the way things work.

  2. Senator Dough Jones – No your first obligation is to protect and support the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. You ignorant, crooked politicians seem to forget all this right after you take this oath. When you vote otherwise you should be automatically impeached.

    • I wonder if the Senator is aware of the Supreme Court ruling that police, and therefore zee gov’t, have no duty to protect citizens.

    • The US Senate’s oath of office reads:
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”
So when this senator says, ” And I believe that the 1st obligation of gov’t is to protect its citizens” he obviously knows very little about what his job actually is.
Such people should not be re-elected after they so publicly demonstrate that they don’t know what they are supposed to be doing.
If I hired a roofer to replace my roof, I would sure as hell fire him if I caught him trying to tutor my children.

    • Oath of Office
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

  3. ” told police Cruz had once put a gun to the head of his mother and brother. Each time, police told her there was nothing they could do about her concerns, she said.” If that statement is true then that’s 2 counts of assault with a deadly weapon. They could do nothing?! Excuse me those are felony charges. For those that disagree, brandishing a weapon in a threatening manner is assault, if you use it that’s battery or worse.

    • I thought the same thing. My guess is the family told police they didn’t want to press charges and that’s why nothing was done.

      • This is Broward County, a leftist enclave in Florida, if I am not mistaken. Just because something is illegal does not mean their politicians, specifically the DA, allow them to enforce those crimes. A good example is Baltimore where police were told to stand down as thugs looted and destroyed property, assault people, and rioted.

    • So there’s “their” loophole eh, never really thought about, ” so help me God”, maybe that should be modified to, “So help me money” as money seems to be their god. So help me under penalty of law won’t work because the ” powers that be” are above the law. From the President on down to Law Enforcement, all should be accountable for not upholding the Constitution

  5. It’s part time to organize and create an appropriate response and counter movement to these anti-liberty, fascistic societal impulses and tendencies. We have to do it as a concerted, singular, but multi faceted effort, composed of autonomous groups with an ear to their local community. And it cannot be dated, stodgy and exclusive.

  6. I gotta say, we need more people like John Gunn in this world. Someone who’s willing to take on a neglectful principal, make her squirm, make her realize what a complete screw-up she is, all while keeping his cool. Hell, I’m willing to overlook the fact I was staring at his crotch for most of the video.

    • I’m wondering why more people aren’t outraged about that. How in the heck is it not a violation of his rights, $500,000 for trespassing?

      • Because he’s an F’ing psycho and a threat to the community. Quit playing daft.

“It’s just trespassing…….whaaaaat’s the big deal?” Seriously? This isn’t just teens hopping the fence for a late night skinny dip in the pool at the city park. This lunatic broke into the school and went for a morbid, celebratory skate through the halls of death. That points to an obvious and deeply disturbed individual. We’ll see what his upcoming psych eval reveals.

In the meantime, that psycho can cool his heels in a cell. But, hey, keep on plastering these psychos up as your poster boys. These crazies are the perpetual fountain of excuses for more gun control.

America needs crazies control, not gun control. You’re pro-crazies in words; you’re anti-gun in effect. People of the Gun? Oh, that’s rich. More like people of the misguided outrage who will lose everyone’s gun rights by supporting the crazies.

        • Well Jon,
“a judge set Cruz’s bond at $500,000 for a misdemeanor trespassing charge”
He is being charged with misdemeanor trespassing, do you really think that a $500,000 bond for misdemeanor trespassing is a fair price?

        • Because he’s an F’ing psycho and a threat to the community
When did trespassing make someone a threat to a community?

        • He’s being over charged for bail. He shouldn’t even be in jail, trespassing is never a confinement charge.

  7. I hate being right all the time. The Seattle Times, as I predicted weeks ago, has just put out an editorial in support of a citizen initiative for an assault weapons ban. Their universal background check fiasco of an initiative attracted over $11 millionfrom people like Bill Gates, Paul Allen, Bloomberg, etc. They will trip over themselves running to the check books on this one.

  8. I never agree with anything Gloria Allred says or does(or her evil kid) but DAMN she’s right here. Shine a light on Floriduh ineptitude. I kinda’ feel sorry for Cruz’ little brother. That’s one hell of an overcharge. Oh well…

  9. Meanwhile, in California, using the crafty legislative ploy of “gut and amend,” a “going nowhere bill” was gutted and a new bill was introduced today to ban firearms as raffle prizes offered by nonprofit groups and charities. Apparently it doesn’t make any difference that any such firearm could only be given to a qualified person, and would be subject to a transfer through an FFL with a background check.

It never ceases to amaze me what these assholes will do to justify their existence. Just who do they think they are protecting?

  10. Don’t publish the Maryland shooter’s name. Publish the deputy’s name, he’s a hero and deserves recognition.

  11. “Tuesday morning’s school shooting incident in Maryland that left the teen gunman dead after being confronted by an armed school resources officer (SRO) dramatically undermines the argument from anti-gunners that armed security in schools is a bad idea.”
thats funny Robert because YOU are the one who says they are a bad idea. but now you using it as evidence that you are credible. which if proves the opposite.

  12. Q: Can I carry a handgun openly, without concealing it?
A: No! Georgia is one of the minority of states that requires a Georgia Weapons License to carry a handgun openly outside of your home, car, or place of business. However, any person with a valid hunting or fishing license on his or her person, or any person not required by law to have a hunting or fishing license, who is engaged in legal hunting, fishing, or sport shooting when the person has the permission of the owner of the land on which the activities are being conducted may have or carry on his or her person a handgun or long gun without a valid weapons carry license while hunting, fishing, or engaging in sport shooting.

  13. Doug Jones clear betrayal to the Republic and the people of Alabama was foreseen by anyone with two brain cells to rub together. There are no moderate Democrats anymore. Haven’t really been since 2010, and Jim Webb was the last to jump ship after the 2016 primaries. *ANY* vote for a Democrat is now a vote against the Constitution. The Republicans are heading in the same direction.

People ask me why I feel a civil war is brewing, and shit like this is the reason why. The hard-working, tax-paying, up-standing citizens of this country are being shat upon by greedy communists and their mindless drones who think they will be treated well by their future masters.

  14. I don’t know what yanks my chain worse – the stupid kids taking guns to schools or the stupid adults carrying firearms into a Walmart. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
