Two years after the massacre at Orlando’s Pulse nightclub, gay, lesbian and transgender Americans are nervous. According to the Human Rights Centre (HRC), a US LGBTI advocacy group, 52 gay people were murdered in the US last year, because of their sexuality, and 28 transgender people met the same fate.
In increasing numbers, they are fighting back by taking up arms.

Jennifer Pearsall, who has led the K-8 language magnet school since 2015, “will be transitioning out of the leadership role at Collinswood Language Academy to serve students from a new role in the district,” Superintendent Clayton Wilcox said in a note sent to Collinswood families Monday. Friday was the last day of school for students.
Neither Wilcox nor Pearsall, whose note to her staff was included with Wilcox’s message, said what the new job is. A CMS spokeswoman said Tuesday she’s checking on that.

My understanding is that if an FBI agent is consuming alcohol they cannot be carrying a firearm. Possibly there could be an out if working undercover.
If this guy was “working undercover” he should be fired just as fast for the crime of being a moron.
It’s likely the FBI has a policy that an agent carrying his/her duty gun can’t consume alcohol. I haven’t bothered to read this story to find out if it’s indicated whether this was his duty gun or personal gun. The FBI policy can only cover government issued property. If it was his personal gun, he’ll get jammed up via the state laws wherever this occurred.

Like any other bright idea involving the use of deadly force; cops, military, and government protective details first. If you can get those institutions to agree that pepper spray is an adequate form a self defense in a gun fight and forgo the need for firearms, then maybe we can consider it. Otherwise he’s just throwing our kids under the bus. Government officials’ kids are protected by armed security, but our kids aren’t worth it.

Now, it’s true, pepper spray is hit-or-miss; sometimes it’ll drop someone like a stone, and sometimes they’ll shrug it off like it never even happened. But I’ve seen enough gunfight videos to know that the exact same thing happens with firearms. You never know; will that bullet drop the bad guy, or will he take five or six hits and just keep on coming?

If you learn how to carry the gun properly, you’ll never have to worry about being found out, and when you are found out, everyone will be glad you broke the rules/law.

Hey AMA, one of the kids, in one of the thousands of buckets, a few years back, (you know, one of the ones that got used for food) had the potential of convincing some of us you were humans worth saving. Other people have already brought up some reasons why the pepper spray gag is stupid assuming it’s even real. The limitations of OC spray are significant and there’s a very good reason why good guys trying to stop bad guys carry guns. I have found OC spray to be almost without use and have only applied it in cases where some numbnuts is already mostly restrained and is just refusing to get cuffed. In that circumstance, I have the benefit of time to let the stuff work.
But having received a similar dose of spray to the eyeballs: not only do I think I could keep fighting, I know I could, because that was the damn point of the exercise. If you pepper spray me you haven’t immediately disabled me, you’ve pissed me off. A lot.

Even if you could get close enough to pepper spray someone who had a gun and was bent on committing homicidal violence, or you were foolish enough to try, the worst pepper spray will do is temporarily blind the potential murderer and make it difficult to breath. Some people tolerate pepper spray amazingly well. I have used law enforcement issued OC spray to spice up a pot of chili. Yet, the murderers trigger finger would remain unaffected. You have probably just motivated him to increase his indiscriminate rate of fire. The question comes to mind. Where exactly does one hide from a wheezing blind guy with a gun?

Countering lethal force with less-than-lethal force is always a bad idea. LTL doesn’t work on everyone. Even if you were able to temporarily blind someone with OC spray, they can still pull the trigger and score some hits.
About the gays tooling-up (with guns, that is): There’s still not enough of them committed to the idea yet. There’s been at least a few different crime sprees in the Oaklawn part of Dallas. Lots of crying for more police protection, but not much in the way of self-defense that I can see. Plus, as someone else already said, whether they become firearm owners or not, we all have a good idea on how they’re going to vote.
So, their idea of school defense is something that can be circumvented with a pair of $9 conventional swimming goggles? Yep, they *can* get dumber. It is possible in the quantum scheme.
The max distance I could find for pepper spray was 25ft while most seemed to be around 10ft even if they did manage to hit the shooter then they’ll just have an enraged shooter firing blindly at the closest crowd. Whats to stop the shooter who now knows his only deterrent is pepper spray to get a cheap pair of goggles and a mask? His non lethal claim is bullshit tell that to any kid with asthma.
