From the NRA-ILA:

FAIRFAX, Va.– The National Rifle Association today applauded the U.S. Senate’s confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to serve as an associate justice on the United States Supreme Court.

“On behalf of our nearly six million members, the NRA congratulates Brett Kavanaugh on his confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court,” said Chris W. Cox, executive director, National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA). “Kavanaugh is an eminently qualified jurist who will interpret the Constitution as the framers intended. He respects our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms for self-defense.”

In the 2016 elections, voters made clear that the Supreme Court was an issue of critical importance.  Today, President Donald Trump has once again delivered on his promise of appointing constitutionally sound justices to our nation’s highest court.

“The NRA would like to thank President Trump for fulfilling his campaign promise to nominate pro-Second Amendment justices to the Supreme Court. The selections of Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh demonstrate President Trump’s unwavering support for our fundamental right to self-defense,” Cox continued.

The U.S. Senate confirmed Kavanaugh by a 50 to 48 vote. The NRA applauds all senators who voted in favor of Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation and would especially like to thank Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) for their leadership in this effort.

  1. God Bless President Trump and the senate majority for their efforts in confirming Supreme Court Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh. THIS IS WHAT WINNING LOOKS LIKE (and I’m not tired of it yet).

  2. Doing the happy dance for approval!
Will celebrate this evening on our outside deck with Lemon Vodka & Sprite cocktail!

    • Vodka???? In honor of Justice Kavanaugh, I CELEBRATED with a 6 pack of COORS (a reliably conservative and patriotic family who makes most of their money these days making ceramic armor for our military) watching America’s Past time and a Yankee’s victory!!!!

      • Coor’s Ceramics has a little-known contribution to National security – The ICBM warhead re-entry vehicle nosecones are made of Coors ceramics…

        • Not little known by me, but yes, to the wider public. I don’t know how Budweiser gets conflated with American Patriotism while Coors gets short shrift. For those who favor its flavor, there should never be another option. (And a PSA- most of these hipster microbrews are owned by leftists).

        • Cracked open a Budweiser Freedom Reserve, not the biggest fan of Red Lager but as one could guess from the name I am looking forward to certiorari on a few cases.

      • Coors Brewing is gone. It merged with Molson and Miller years ago, although the Coors family still has significant ownership.

      • “COORS makes most of their money these days making ceramic armor”

Which they use as a flavoring agent in their beer.

    • The phone rings in the Oval Office. President Trump answers. It is Hillary on the other end.
Trump: “Is this so important that it can’t wait until tomorrow?”
Hillary: “No this cannot wait. I just heard that Justice Ginsburg died and I would very much like to take her place”.
Trump: “Well, if it is OK with the funeral home it certainly is OK with me”.
      Phone: “CLICK!”

  3. Do not become complacent by this victory. Lots of work still to be done. Vote for conservatives that will uphold the Second Amendment on November 6th.

  4. Thanks to President Trump for seeing the nomination through to it’s conclusion, for all the Bitter Clinging Deplorable s of this nation.

I can hardly wait for the next retirement or what ever. I’m thinking Amy Coney Barrett as the next nominee to the court as she appears to the right of Kavanaugh and it will be difficult for the Leftards to accuse her of sexual assault.

Now to drain more swamp creatures,Build The Wall,Lock Hag Up and throw away the effing key.

    • They won’t accuse the next nominee of sexual assault, they’ll accuse the next nominee of racism. The sexual assault card has been played and (forgive the pun) Trumped. Racism is next up to bat. Wait and see.

      • If RBG doesn’t make it through the next 2 years you can bet all hell will break loose on the Left. They’ll fight with everything they’ve got to prevent a 6-3 court. Be prepared.

  5. I’m really confused, can someone explain the celebrating? Another judge is still required for the victories we want.

    • It’s one step closer to that victory, after all the Leftards have subverted the Constitution by death of a thousand cuts and it takes one step at a time to restore the Constitution .

    • We are closer to victory than we were two days ago. These shifts come along rarely enough that it is worth commemorating.

Too often, all we’ve had to celebrate were successful holding actions.

    • The celebrating is because the left pulled out EVERY trick they have, they behaved atrociously, they fought dirty, they lied and cheated and bought protesters, they assassinated a man’s character, they fought the hardest they ever have, and they STILL lost. That’s why we celebrate.

And in the process, Lindsay Graham’s balls descended and he grew a spine, and he showed every RINO what a Trump-era Republican looks like.

This was the biggest victory for the right since November 8, 2016.

  6. This guy is a Bush buddy and Kennedy pick who doesn’t believe in the 4th amendment. No guarantee of his 2nd amendment commitment. And where does Obama care Roberts stand? Alito?

    • With the exception of Obamacare, Roberts seem to be pretty conservative. Alito is further right, and was labelled “Scalito” when he was being nominated. People upset with Kavanaugh need to relax. The guy thinks assault weapon bans are unconstitutional. That’s probably as good as we’re gonna get for the time being. The people on here stamping their feet because they want the NFA and GCA to be repealed immediately aren’t attached to reality. There probably aren’t any judges that agree with that and if there are, they aren’t going to be nominated and confirmed to the SCOTUS. Be glad for what we have gotten. It’s good news.

      • …he is also not a fan of licensing being required to exercise an explicitly enumerated constitutional right.

I think we’re going to be pretty happy with him in the long run.

        • AND he’s not cool with gun registration.

          That’s a *major* win right there…

        • The NFA, which he is explicitly cool with, is a registry (it’s literally called the “National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record”).

        • Take the win, even it it’s not the Super Bowl. The end of the NFA is going to be the last thing we win, and there are a lot of other things to claw back on the way.

        • I wish more folks, who are ostensibly intelligent, could grasp this. I’m a 2A absolutist who is willing to kill and/or die for my rights, but I’m also a realist. Play the long game….to win.

  7. Building the wall seems like an excellent way to pass the time until RGB take a dirt nap and Sotomayor suffers a diabetic stroke.

We will have a 7-2 court before Trump leaves office.

    • I don’t know why folks constantly overlook Breyer’s advanced age of 80 and solely focus on that filthy witch Ginsberg. Breyer could literally drop dead this afternoon and still would’ve surpassed White male life expectancy.

      • Statistically speaking, there is likely to be quite a bit of Winning™ in the next ~six years.

….if Trump is re-elected, the Republicans continue to hold the Senate, and remain vertebrates.

Remember to vote. If you have the time, volunteer. If you have the cash, donate. Opportunities like this come along once every couple of decades, do not squander it.

        • Plus, the focus on Ginsberg is because she is a near-deoty to leftists. She even has her own movie out now.

Who in the left even know who Breyer is? Ask them, they’ll probably say “isn’t he that ice cream guy?”

  8. I hope and pray we are right. Kavanaugh was very vindictive with President Clinton, roasting him over a similar fire. I feel that we may have made a mistake, not that I don’t agree with Justice Kavanaugh’s decisions, but we may have rewarded him for taking down a president using dirtier means than were used to get that president into power.

This private life BS and trash picking has to stop. No one is squeeky clean, men in power use that power to get women and worse. Hopefully, the American public will tune out after this.

    • Hopefully any notions that Kavanaugh may have had in regards to thinking that Modern Democrats mean well and aren’t THE domestic enemies our Founders warned us about, have been completely and utterly disabused. I expect this process will never be far from his mind and hope that feeling influences EVERY SINGLE RULING HE EVER MAKES, FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE.

      • I would be positively ecstatic if he takes a traditionally minded view towards the constitution and its founders’ intents. Which in my neck of the woods is pretty much rolling out the rwds

    • Horrible movie, agreed. But so applicable. We’ve turned into the Empire and we’re happy about it.

Give me one hour and an internet connection and I could nominate a dozen candidates who’d be way more liberty-friendly than Kavanaugh.

      • I agree that Kavanaugh is far from ideal, and I am bothered about how he was added to Trump’s list after the fact, and that GWB expressly supported him and even overcame his disgust of all things Trump to actively campaign for Kavanaugh. The whole process reeks of swamp.

But, that said, I am not one of the anti-NRA morons here who can’t recognize that a quest for perfection is the enemy of progress. Kavanaugh stinks around the seams, but he is undoubtedly better than Breyer, Souter, Ginsberg, Kagan, Sotomayor, and Barack Obama (who Hillary at least considered as one of her potential nominees).

I would rather have had literally ANYONE on Trump’s list instead of Kavanaugh. But Kavanaugh is still a win over where we were, and a huge win over where we could have been.

  9. The Demons skewered Thomas. He was already a Conservative, but his treatment at the hands of the Democrats pushed him even further to the right. He’s now the most conservative justice, and not by a little. He makes Alito almost seem pink by comparison.

Let’s hope that the Demons’ lies, libels and slanders about Kavanaugh have the same effect on him as they did on Thomas. Hey, the Dems even forced Lindsey Graham to grow a pair of stones.

Vote early and vote often. And make sure that dead people vote Republican for a change.

Unintended consequences — they are a bitch.

    • Speaking of unintended consequences… There were more than a few Alex Jones-types out there accusing Hillary of murdering or arranging the murder of Scalia. I don’t put any stock in such speculation, I only raise it to say that if it were true, the entire rise of Trumpism leading up to the confirmation of Kavanaugh would be one hell of a lot of unintended consequences!

  10. I am elated that we now have a Justice Kavanaugh on the supreme court. He and his family have gone thru an unrelenting hell while this travesty was going on. These rich socialists need to be stopped. One has to question the intelligence of pissing off a supreme court judge, and I am sure there was at least one or two other justices that were not amused either.

    • from a video i saw even one of the leftist judges that we want gone was not impressed with the circus surrounding Kav’s nomination. that has to say something

  11. Isn’t anyone out there worried about how many women have already died since he was sworn in????? Must be close to a million by now, not to mention the obvious billions who’ve had their boobs tweaked since yesterday… Hope the bed-wetters are keeping a tally, by all their hype on who and what will kill you if it is allowed to happen, humans should already be extinct.

    • They have been singing that same song for many years. Remember the “Stop Souter” buttons? They said it back then, if Souter gets on the court, women will die.

Just goes to show, nobody really knows anything.
