Taurus has introduced the newest addition to its G-series line of semi-auto pistols, the G3c. It follows last year’s roll out of the full-size G3 9mm polymer-frame, striker-fired pistol. MSRP: $305.74.

The G3c’s frame features a contoured palm swell, highly textured grip panels, memory pads for repeatable finger/hand placement, and a sculpted, extended magazine base plate with bevel cuts.

The G3c’s 3rd-generation trigger system has a flat trigger face and a shorter trigger reset. The G3c’s upgraded slide design includes both front and rear serrations for manipulating the slide during charging, clearing, or press-checks. A visual chamber indicator replaces the previous mechanical indicator.

The G3c’s slide is treated with a Tenifer finish to minimize scuffing and maximize corrosion resistance. Front and rear sights on the G3c have also been upgraded to all-steel construction. The rear sight is drift-adjustable and includes serrations to reduce glare and promote faster sight acquisition. The G3c is also upgrade-compatible. The rear dovetail is cut with dimensions that accept common aftermarket sights.

The G3c comes from the factory in 10- or 12-round capacities with three magazines included. Available separately are 15- and 17-round factory magazines.

The new Taurus G3c is now shipping to dealers nationwide. To learn more, visit TaurusUSA.com. Taurus Holdings, Inc. is based in Bainbridge, Georgia.

  1. Looks like the bastard love child of a Glock and an M&P.

Also looks like something I might buy in the future. I’ve been thinking of less expensive ways to get the whole family armed and concealed-carry permitted…need to do it before WA goes any farther left than it already has.

  2. Taurus has been quite impressive lately.G3,this,their 22 and new 3″barrel revolvers. And this G3C is made in Georgia. With 3 mags. I’m eventially getting a G3 with a 4″ barrel before I get the same size gun as my G2. I think the American attitude has perhaps “fixed” Taurus(never called CS)…

    • Was in a LGS last weekend, customer comes in returning a Taurus. Didn’t catch the model, semi-auto. He picked it up during the week, went to the range and it was not working. Going back to Taurus. Don’t think I would choose them.

My Ruger Security 9 has yet to choke, 305.00 out the door. My RIA 45 has yet to choke, new for 399.00, yes A full size, 8 shot, with adj F & R site, steel 1911. Even my Charter Arm Mag Pug shoots, 5 shot 357, new wheelie for 299.00.

I have put hundreds of rounds through my Kel-Tec P11 no issues, bought it new for 289. Wasn’t looking for a small double stack 9 but….

Still gonna stay away from Taurus for now.

  3. Just want to point this out…there was a mass public shooting in France in may…3 people killed at a quarry office. Also, there have been several public shootings in London recently.

  4. Interesting. Has there ever been any extended reliability and durability tests for the previous Taurus G2, like Todd Green used to do with HKs, Glocks and other pistols? I think he went to 93,000 rounds on the HK P30. If so please provide links as it is hard to find anything on the Taurus beyond a few hundred rounds.

    • The Taurus 709 was a top finisher in the Guns & Ammo 9mm showdown. Somewhere on the interwebz. MY 709 is perfect. FWIW I’ve never had any problems with SIX Tauruses. Better than a Keltec p11!!!

      • Single Stack shootout 2015. Taurus & 2 other MUCH more pricey guns each went 1000rounds with nary a glitch. Sadly(stupidly?) Taurus discontinued the 709 for a fatter G2S…

        • That is it 1000 rounds? Looking for testing a lot more than that but thanks for the info. Pretty much any pistol manufactured for sale in USA should go 1000 rounds without an issue other than possibly micro pistols.

    • If you search for. G2C 10,000 round test you get some results. Its a $200 gun so even if it broke on 10,001 it would probably be worth it

        • True PT as 10,000 rounds is a few years or maybe even less shooting for some of us. Again looking for longer term/higher round count testing of the Taurus as I have never seen such.

Even the You Tube 5000 round as fast as possible test like done for the SIG SP2022 without any failure would be impressive.

  5. It looks interesting, if it had Glock or Sig stamped on it those who are criticizing the gun would worship it. More options is better, it is a more affordable option for those who may find a Sig, Glock, etc too expensive.

  6. Never been a fan of the single-action to double-action Taurus triggers (i.e. “second strike capability”).

Too light to use without the manual safety (imo) but not nearly good enough to be worth it when you can just get a real single-action or double-action gun. I’m guessing this one, like the others, does not include a decocker.

  7. I keep having to come up with reasons not to try out the latest Taurus generation guns like the G3 and now the G3C. I think eventually the “it’s a Taurus “ reason is going to fail.
