Surefire makes a nice product, i own a few lights but at 3 times the price of competitors I’d be more likely to try a streamlight or olight.
I’ll also be interested when one of flashlight geeks at candlepower forums does a runtime graph, if output is based on ANSI FL1 standard, down to 10% output in 30 minutes sucks.
Isn’t that run time expected for a concealed carry WML? Aside from runtime, output amd beam pattern, the one that interests me is the drop test. No doubt this Surefire will pass with flying colors.
If you like keeping your carry gun’s light’s battery full and topped off, I suggest the PL-mini. My pl-mini is still going strong after 3 years. The Olightstore seems to have crazy sales ever quarter.
True on the runtimes, the problem seems to be the push for more and more lumens on battery power that cant sustain it which why output is often reduced within 1 to 5 minutes after turn on. I’d prefer 150 to 200 lumens of sustained output.
I’d give that olight a shot at 90 bucks, decent price. Still high output, low run time but thats the current trend.
Looks like the Streamlight TLR-7/7A in size, but I have to check the specs. I do like my Streamlight TLR-7. I would have bought TLR-7A, which was released a year later, with the high/low buttons as an improvement over the TLR-7. The rechargeable battery just does not last long thou.
I like my Olight PL Minis on my Glocks. Same slim profile as the frame and a perfect 400 lumens setting so you don’t blind yourself when activating it in the middle of the night in the hallway.

Why a weapon light on a P365 OR XL for that matter.
Really defeats the purpose of ultra=compact carry.
I just carry my Surefire E2D Ultra on my belt fitted with a thumb/finger lanyard of course. Hand held lights WITHOUT PROPERLY FITTED LANYARDS are only about 50% useful.
Surefire makes the BEST most durable lights in the business. I have a Streamlight TLR-1HL Weaponlight and a TLR-HPL Carbine Light that are as good or maybe better in some respects than Surefire offerings, but I will always want the best when MY life is on the line.
Can’t buy ammo, might as well buy all that stuff you have been wanting.
The need for a private citizen to have a light on a CCW is overrated. If you’re being assaulted, raped, or robbed, the perp is right there, so target identification is trivial. You don’t need to go hunting through a parking lot trying to find the bad guy. You can think up some scenarios where it could be useful (bad guy snatches up your kid and runs in into a dark alley), but it’s not a must have. An EDC flashlight is much more likely to be used, and it can be substituted for a WML with a CCW gun if needed.
Clearing you home with your house gun is more likely to need a light. You should be fortifying a safe location if possible, but you may need to.go out and bring kids to the safe room, etc.
I own a few Surefire lights. The stiletto is a home run. Some of the other handhelds are great.
$319 MSRP for a 350 lumen, 30 min run time light, proprietary batteries ($40~/ea) one battery, (you do get a charger, how nice of them) is a massive failure. The XC1 was a good item, but massively overpriced as well.
