Anarchy in the UK! . . . Hand guns should be legalised and licensed, Nigel Farage has said – “The Ukip leader has said it is party policy for hand guns to be legalised and licensed in the UK despite being banned in the UK for the last 18 years. Mr Farage said the current ban on the guns, which were made illegal following the school shooting at Dunblane in 1996, was ‘ludicrous.’ Speaking on LBC Radio Mr Farage said that it was Ukip policy to create a “proper licensing policy” and that people who kept hand guns responsibility locked up and had were willing to get an official licence should ‘absolutely’ be allowed them.”

Well this was predictable . . . Passage Of Prop 63 Spurs Run On Ammo – “California voters’ passage of anti-gun Proposition 63 last week has had exactly the expected response—a run on ammunition in the state. The new law will severely restrict ammo purchases by law-abiding gun owners in the state, while having no effect on criminals, who couldn’t care less about any kind of background check. Reports out of Sacramento indicate that people waited in line for an hour just to get into the Crossroads of the West Gun Show at Cal Expo to buy ammunition.”

OMG! People building their own guns! OMG! . . . ‘Ghost gun’ kit makers on the rise in Central Florida – Companies that make kits which allow buyers to assemble military-style, semi-automatic rifles at home have sprung up in recent years in at least one Central Florida county, alarming some in law enforcement. These so-called “ghost gun” kits have become popular with firearms rights activists because the parts have no serial number or other markings, making them untraceable. Ghost guns can be purchased online from thousands of different websites without a background check.

Carry permits to be treated like drivers permits, marriage licenses . . . Local gun-carrying restrictions may be wiped out under Trump, advocates say – “With Donald Trump in the White House, tourists from other states may soon be able to bring their guns to shops of Fifth Avenue, the plaza at Rockefeller Center and other New York City sights. Advocates say they expect Congress to finally pass a sweeping gun rights law that could dismantle local gun-carrying restrictions in states including New York, New Jersey, Maryland, California and Hawaii. These changes could come soon. If Congress passes a federal right-to-carry law, it’s “certainly possible” that within a year or two, New York tourists might be able to carry a concealed weapon as they tour the city, said Robert Spitzer, a gun politics expert at SUNY Cortland.”

From our friends at Mother Jones… Man Pulls a Gun And Drives Through Pipeline Protesters – “On Saturday, a driver pulled a gun on Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) protesters and ran over and injured two people, witnesses say. Anti-pipeline protesters were holding a prayer ceremony near the entrance to the construction site and obstructing traffic on a public road. A man in a flatbed truck driving down the road brandished his a pistol and screamed, ‘This is my way home!'”

      • Running over someone, even if in the middle of the road, is still a bit of a jerk move. It’s also key to this story.

I don’t get what the weapon had to do with it, though. It doesn’t sound like he pointed it at anybody and he didn’t fire at people. He did, however, misuse the vehicle.

Maybe we need to start banning cars that weigh over 2000 pounds.

      • Perhaps their prayers should have started with, “Please God, don’t let any traffic come down this road while your faithful are in the roadway praying!”

  1. I’m gonna wager those protestors got nudged out of the way and not run over.
There’s a difference, no matter how much you try to distort and slant the story.

    • But the thing is, I watched the video, and at no point are there any shots fired. So unless this guy came back after the video was taken and fired shots into the air, willy nilly, I reckon these crybabies are just plain ol’ lying.
Can’t say I blame the guy for carrying, either. After seeing how quickly “peaceful” protests have escalated the past week, I’d be iffy about a large group of people screaming about peace and love, too.

  2. I’m making use of the mail order ammo before 63 takes effect. I want enough ammo on hand that it’ll be years before I have to submit to CA’s latest bit of stupidity.

I lived when the 68gca made it a nationwide law to record every ammo sale. Completely useless drain of time and resources.

      • It’s a misdemeanor, for one, and if they catch you, they confiscate your ammo as contraband for two. Trying to bring it in over the border can be an expensive proposition–a lot more expensive than the $50 permit and the hassle of having a NICS check every time you check out.

        • What “border”? They can’t control 5 miles of national border with Mexico; what makes them think they can control 900 miles within their own nation?

        • Tim, they don’t want to control the border with mexico. Violating the civil rights of honest citizens is a higher priority.

        • Not if you don’t get caught. For decades now “illegal” gun parts, accessories, and whole guns have come in to California. How many have been “caught” at the borders with Oregon, Nevada, and Arizona? I won’t say none but the number is very small. In New York state people are openly defying the “SAFE” act. This is so much like the prohibition on alcohol its not funny. There is a great American tradition of changing the law by breaking it.

    • JWM, I wish you luck dealing with the BS that is California law. If Trump and Congress can get together maybe they can stop some of the violations of your 2nd amendment rights. Otherwise they will be back for more, because that is what they always do, no matter what lie they tell you they will always come back for more.

      • Methinks you’ve mistaken the reflection on the surface on a pond for the stars in the night sky. If Trump and congress get together things will certainly not get better. Hell, just look at his choice of Priebus and Bannon and then show me your willful suspension of disbelief that things can’t get worse.

    • I wonder, how does California propose to stop its residents from driving over to Nevada or Arizona and buying as much ammo as their car’s suspension can withstand, thus bypassing the whole idiotic system?

    • I don’t know why there is a buying panic. The licensing provisions of 63 don’t take effect for a year.
But yes, I too will be maxing out on mail order ammo from Freedom Munitions. Right now I am waiting for 45 Colt to come back into stock, since I am down to 300 rounds, and that is not nearly enough. I also need to stock up on HPs in 9 mm and .45 ACP because they will likely skyrocket to $1 to $1.50 a round, when surcharges for the background check and record keeping requirements are added in.

  3. Someone took a photo of someone taking a photo of a man holding a gun and screaming with rage. And then twitted about it.

Personally I’d have thought that a sensible person would be, oh, I don’t know, looking for cover? Or maybe trying to just get out of the person’s sight line?

  4. The protesters have no right to interfere with travel on a public road. If they do, it’s the duty of law enforcement to open the road, arresting any protesters who refuse to get out of the way. Nevertheless, the driver could have handled the situation better. Roll up his windows, lock his doors and call his boss to report the situation and ask for help. As long as he wasn’t in danger from the crowd, he should not have tried to push his way through or brandished his weapon. These protests have been going on for quite a while. I expect the driver was aware of them. When possible, avoid stupid people doing stupid things in stupid places.

    • I’m sorry, when the public thoroughfare is being blocked, if LE isn’t actively clearing it, there is no reason the public shouldn’t.

I have no right to impede you on your way to work/home/school/shopping/church/whatever. Reverse is implicit.

I don’t care if these people are protesting that the US National Debt is 10 times what it should be, they are still impeding someone’s movement. Be swatted aside, or pay whatever price the protestors are willing to pay to make their point. If they’re willing to bet that no one will run them over, well, let’s see what happens. I’ve seen dozens of videos in the last week alone of racially motivated attacks (black on white ‘natch) which the MSM won’t even acknowledge. Reginald Denny got what he did, because he didn’t lock his cab, put it in 3, and dump the clutch. Just like in Group B rally, the sea parts, or it becomes protein stuck to the bumper.

    • Boss? I read he was on his way home. Who do you call, now? If the cops were going to do anything, they would already have done it. The people blocking the road were CLEARLY not at all afraid for their safety, so claiming any manner of endangering is pretty nuts. Maybe tomorrow, he should increase his speed 5 mph or so, every day until they get the f out of his way! He is not even opposing their demonstration, just wants to go home.

  5. Too Reginald Denny didn’t scatter scum like a bowling alley. I was in my local(NWIndiana) gunshop and they said business has been brisk after Tuesday. “Protesters” help…

  6. Too bad Reginald Denny didn’t shoot some “protesters” blocking the road…scatter the scum like bowling pins… BTW I was in my local NW IN gun shop today and they relayed business was fine-endless civil unrest will keep gun sales brisk and prices reasonable.

  7. What never seems to get said about these ghost guns, is that what they are buying on the Internet isn’t a gun, it’s essentially a parts kit.
    The media keeps on lying.

    • And not only is it a parts kit, it either has no lower receiver or it has an 80% lower that is not required to be serialized. Further, until someone shows me cases where unserialized rifles are being used to commit crimes, who cares. (I rally shouldn’t state that very loud. The California Legislature banned them despite the lack of any crimes, but merely on the basis that such guns had been confiscated in raids on gang houses.)

      • Even if they are used in crimes who cares? What good has a serial number, registered or otherwise, ever been in solving a crime? Especially when all other evidence is taken into account.

    • I looked at the ‘ghost gun’ on the news and saw neither ghost nor gun

…just the non-gun parts you can order from anywhere and always could. That’s the whole point of an AR

  8. Guns will be legal in the UK when thinking is legal in the UK. Which means never.

The average Brit is dumber than the average American, and their politicians are even worse.

    • Funny you say that. I postulated to my girlfriend earlier today that the most likely reason Brexit passed was because it had a catchy name.

    • Ralph, you may be right about the average Brit vs the average American Lefty, but that is pretty much a race to the bottom with schools in both countries leading the way.

      • Brits lost the best and brightest in their gene pool over the course of two world wars.

That this is all that remains is hardly a surprise.

    • One of the forums I’m on has a guy over in the UK due to his job with the air force. Said he was talking to some woman and she was genuinely afraid that Trump won president herein the US.
She said she was afraid she wouldn’t be able to marry her girlfriend because he won. He had to explain that the US president had no influence on the laws the UK had and she’d be able to marry her girlfriend. He said the woman had to leave right then because she had to run home and tell her girlfriend the good news.

    • Don’t tar us all with the same brush………

One of the reasons the Dems lost was that they made sweeping generalizations about large swathes of the populace. The media in Europe delight in branding Americans as ‘dumb’ & I have spent many hours arguing to the contrary.

Anyway, I have lived in the US for many years and love it here, every country has pros & cons but this is a fabulous place, and let’s support Mr T in his efforts to make it even greater!!

  9. I’ve worked with a lot of English people over the years. They all moved to Australia to get away from the insane laws and regulations

Plus the weather is nicer here

Two of them that I introduced to shooting now own more firearms than I do.

    • If what I’m reading is true, it seems Australia is slowly going insane, too. At least when it comes to guns. Otherwise, it seems like it would be a really awesome place to visit.

  10. You guys should take an example from your pre-revolution and prohibition era ancestors and boycott buying ammo from official dealers and get it from “smugglers” out of state. I see a new market developing for guys to buy ammo in bulk in Nevada, oregon, and arizona, bring it into the state, and distribute it. Even if it’s more expensive, do it to thumb your nose at your tyrannical neighbors and deprive the state of taxes.

  11. That Mother Jones has any readership whatsoever is astonishing. They routinely go out of their way to spin stories into whatever grotesque combination of words fits their agenda.

All they care about is validating their audience’s preconceived notions that were put there by the media in the first place, especially when it comes to guns. In this one, it’s, “Look! Another bloodthirsty hick with a gun who wants to kill everyone! Just like we’ve been telling you that all gun owners are!”

  12. New York actually passed background checks for ammo sales when the SAFE Act went into effect. Only problem was there is no system to run backgrounds checks on those who buy ammo. I think the morons in Albany/NYC thought they could piggyback onto the NICS system, but that obviously didn’t work. Last I heard they still didn’t have any type of system even being developed to run the background checks. Needless to say, most of us have done our share of stockpiling.

  13. The passing of a federal level reciprocation is what I’m most hopeful for. It’d be a real kick in the pants for those states that were mentioned. Additionally, it may slow down criminals preying on tourist in those states.

  14. The definition of Domestic Terrorism by the FBI

Under current United States law, set forth in the USA PATRIOT Act, acts of domestic terrorism are those which: “(A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State; (B) appear to be intended – (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and (C) occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States.”

Those people standing in the road seem to be intimidating the driver because they are daring him to drive on a road that was designed to have cars/trucks drive on just to get home. I understand the people of that area feel like they got they clean end of a turd but take it up with the government, not someone just trying to get home. And of course, someone from Californistan would only focus on the gun in his hand, not the fact that ONE guy was being intimidated by MANY people and he just wanted them to know that he might feel threatened by the overwhelming number of people versus him. This is how i view this. Guy tries to drive home, a mob blocks his route and more than likely, is talking smack to him because they are mad, guy feels threatened, guy lets mob know that he feels threatened, mob moves because they realize that this is an American who doesn’t like have HIS RIGHTS infringed upon, guy blows off steam but injures no one.

  15. I watched the video. He kept saying he was trying to get home. The protesters kept saying they loved him and didn’t want to hurt him, but wouldn’t let his truck drive down the road. They hung onto the truck. He showed them the gun to try and get them to let him go without running anyone over. That failed so he slowly went forward. One person got a foot ran over because they wouldn’t move. Out in the country not being able to go down a road can easily add 10+ miles to your trip, add hours to a trip or strand you entirely.

If a protest surrounds my vehicle, displaying a gun is a lesser danger to the mob than me running them over with a vehicle.

  16. HP

As I have said here before gun laws here are easier than when I worked in California 15 years ago.

Not sure what part of USA your in but Australia does let visitors bring firearms and hunt. But not ccw.

Because of our geography three coastal cities have about half the total population and dominate politics. I’ve found rural areas about the same in both countries
