The NRA needs your money to keep defending firearms freedom. Now there’s a surprise. My constantly ringing home phone and never-decreasing pile of direct mail solicitations are testimony to the fact that Wayne LaPierre’s peeps are the dictionary definition of relentless fund raisers. But hey, they did shell out $52 million promoting pro-gun pols this election season, including $32 million on the Trumpster. As a result, the NRA’s boiler room babes are pleading poverty. Here’s an excerpt from WLP’s post-election appeal:

“In the face of bitter and despicable attacks, you stood tall. In North Carolina, in Florida, in Pennsylvania, Ohio and more, you swung this election and sent Donald Trump to the White House. And believe me, NRA didn’t hold back. Instead, we spent every single dollar we could muster, because a Hillary Clinton presidency and the final destruction of our Second Amendment rights was not an option. If I’d socked away your 2016 gifts for a rainy day – and we’d lost this election by a nose – you’d never have forgiven me. And I would have never forgiven myself. That’s why we went for broke and left it all on the field. But NRA is now flat on its back financially. And I need your immediate help to get NRA back on its feet for the battles still headed our way.”

Freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose . . . Big Gun’s Big Fail – “The gun culture’s objection to conglomeration was reminiscent of objections I’d once heard from ‘conscious consumers’ when Unilever had purchased Ben & Jerry’s. Gun manufacturing had historically been an artisanal business, and gun buyers liked it that way. So did a former Bushmaster employee I spoke with, whose complaints about Cerberus’s conduct sounded, at times, more like complaints about capitalism itself. ‘I observed them screw up a lot of companies and put a lot of people out of work,’ he told me. ‘They weren’t in it for the right reasons.’ When I suggested to him that Cerberus just wanted profits, he responded with indignation. ‘Yeah, sure. But there’s also heritage, and history. They didn’t care about any of that.’ They certainly didn’t.”

“Alisha Moore, 34, discusses gun safety at a Nov. 17 candlelight vigil after the shooting death of her son, Jamari Moore,” the YouTube caption informs. “Alisha Moore said her son was shot by another child who was able to get a gun in a home.” Ms. Moore’s solution? Lock it up! And “don’t let your kids know you have a gun.” Wait. What?

Australia shares fears about a 3D printed future – “Some of the concern comes from a section in the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission’s Illicit firearms report. The report that lists 3D printed guns as a potential (however low-risk) threat to the nation’s security. Though we can’t deny that it is possible to create such products with 3D printing, one of the most popular stories about 3D printing is of course the technology being used to make guns, the fact remains that 3D printing is much more complicated than the traditional method of manufacturing these objects, or even simply buying them.”

“The dual-mode Firefield Heavy Duty Green Laser Flashlight Foregrip is an IPX6 waterproof, 2-in-1 tactical light system equipped with a Cree® Q5 LED 230-lumen bulb, reflector and built-in 532nm, 5mW green laser for convenient versatility, pin-point accuracy and a long, ultra-bright throw. The full aluminum foregrip features rugged knurled texturing with a push-button switch designed for comfort and ergonomic handling, even with gloves or wet hands. ”

Helluva shot . . . VIDEO: Dash-cam footage shows Tulsa police sniper shoot, kill man holding child hostage – “Newly released dash-cam images capture the moment a Tulsa police sniper shot and killed an armed man reportedly holding his estranged wife’s 2-year-old daughter hostage as he stood on the balcony of her east Tulsa home last month. … Authorities have said Reyes was holding the girl’s hand while also carrying a firearm at the time Officer Jason Lawless, a special operations sniper, fired the deadly shot. Reyes was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Cops: Texas man threatens to kill parents over their votes – “A Texas man who police say was not happy with the outcome of the presidential election is facing charges for allegedly threatening to kill his parents, reports CBS affiliate KENS. Chase Carter, 29, of San Antonio, was arrested Sunday and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with a Nov. 9 incident. Carter’s girlfriend told police that he was angry that his parents voted for a different candidate than he did, and allegedly threatened to kill them.” Somehow the article never mentions which candidate Chase voted for (or the one he was upset about winning).

JW Probe: Secret Service Loses Guns, Badges, Laptops, “Other Equipment” – “The U.S. Secret Service has lost thousands of agency computers, radios, cell phones, weapons, credentials and vehicles since Islamic terrorists executed the worst attack in U.S. history, records obtained by Judicial Watch show. The equipment was reported lost or stolen by the Secret Service, which claims to be one of the most elite law enforcement organizations in the world with responsibilities that include protecting, not only the president, but also national and visiting foreign leaders as well as conducting criminal investigations.” It’s almost as if someone needs to make the Secret Service great again.

  1. Well done NRA…you did good. I need to re-up my membership and will happily send them some dough. Will gun rights be safe? Dunno’ but it’s gonna’ be a helluva’ lot better than the Hildebeast…

      • Ehh he doesn’t seem to have any reason not to. And Donald Trump Jr. is on his firearms coalition group right?

The biggest danger would probably be democrats trying to poison-pill bills by using some kind of committee bullshit.

You know what republicans should do? Amend a firearms bill last minute to add Machineguns back to the NFA registry, then Ryan should mark the amendment as passing no matter what the vote is.

That would be a “Count of Monte Cristo” level of attention span and revenge.

        • Donald Trump, Jr. will have firearms, any firearms he wants, now and forever. He and his old man have NY concealed carry licenses, don’t they?

So, please, for the love of God and all that is intellectually honest, stop using Jr. lifelong love affair with firearms as anything remotely resembling evidence that the huckster-in-chief will preserve, protect, and defend your firearm rights. He may, he may not, but it’s not because his entitled kid implores him to look out for the stupid unwashed masses. Junior got his; it doesn’t mean you’ll get to keep yours.

Really, if Trump had any reverence for sacred covenants, he wouldn’t be thrice married. If he gave a damn about the Constitution, he would vow to assault the First Amendment at every turn. That point may be his undoing: If he really does expand firearms freedoms, people may use them to regain the First Amendment rights he’s hell bent on confiscating. This is not the savior of the Republic you’re looking for.

        • J-H, you sound like a hard core Hillary fan crying because you didn’t get your way. Why don’t you STFU until there is something ever-so-evil that he actually does, or attempts to do. The election is over, we can drop the lies, exaggerations, and assumptions designed to affect the outcome, and watch what happens with our eyes open. Attempting to constantly poison the conversation is akin to self-flagellation, with no possible benefit to anyone. He was elected, he deserves a fair chance.

  2. Dear NRA: thanks for abandoning us in California. Yeah. I know. We’re a lost cause. But you could’ve done a bit more than send me a nice orange flyer telling me not to vote yes on Prop 63.

    • Could’ve done a bit more? You mean lose a bit more money in a state that is ruled by leftist maggots and won’t listen to diddly shit of what the NRA has to say. Perhaps you’re the kind of person who thinks government subsidies to companies that continually have their heads under water is a great idea.

      • Tell me why I should support the NRA, then, when there are other groups willing to spend more money in CA helping me fight for my rights?

        • The reason you support them is not just support at the state level but the federal level as well. I understand your frustrations being from California but federal level laws effect those in CA as well. I’m from PA and we have (mostly) favorable gun laws. I support NRA to fight for federal as well as all state’s laws. If I lived in CA I’d support NRA and more localized 2nd amendment organizations.

        • Agreed. A Californian’s money is better spent donating to U-HAUL than to the NRA. (Just don’t come to Texas and bring your deranged California politics and voting habits with you, like the others do.)

        • Because the only way California is getting firearm rights back is through federal action and preemption?

The cost of fighting simple “lose no ground” in California is astronomical, and, given the margin of 63- likely impossible.

So what CAN NRA do that matters at all?

          Get a federal bailout.

If California gunowners organize to support NRA for a federal bailout of failed state policies, we may actually win.

          P.S.- I’m in California too.

    • To paraphrase Kurt: Damn you, NRA, for not flushing Ralph’s money down the cesspool known as California.

Sorry, Kurt, I feel bad for you, but sometimes you have to clean your own toilet.

        • Your reading for comprehension skills are obviously lacking. WASTE YOUR MONEY. It’s your’s to waste. Kommiefornina is way past the soapbox or ballot box poiunt.

    • Kurt-

With you. I’m interested in learning how many NRA members are from Cal and what return they’ve seen on the membership (investment). I felt burnt after NRA supported harry reid because of his support for the Clark County range. interesting bedfellows and stuff. I remain cautiously optimistic that the fools running cal will continue to double down until it becomes a situation that will have a “Trump” effect with poli’s here. of course…

“America has a long history of dealing with those who stomp on rights. There’s the soap box, letter box, ballot box, jury box and the cartridge box for dealing with these sorts.”

Not advocating anything here, just sharing a quote.

      • At this point, that might be your best bet. California seems to be a pilot plant, or should I say petri dish, for all things government. It’s got to be frustrating waiting for things to get so stupid that the majority finally wake up to the failure they are living under. I have a liberal friend in California that is so plugged in to that matrix that I have little hope for him coming out of it, 58 year old man still ranting this very minute because Hillary got her ass handed to her. Maybe without federal support, or some change in the courts in won’t take much more before enough people in California recognize and finally get sick of the totalitarianism they are forced to live under.

        • If you what to restore responsible gov’t to Kommiefornia, including the 2nd, your efforts need to be towards sending home the MILLIONS of illegals, overstays, “refugees”, and fraudulent/phoney “ciitzens”. And their spawn. If 5million of these GO HOME everything in Ca changes. You traffic/roads, water supply, and gov’t.

          How:
If they leave by July1 they can take 90% of their cash assets with them. By Dec 1 can take 50%. Then we deport the rest and they donate their assets to the treasury.

      • Apparently you’re grossly unaware of the totality of the NRA’s activities. If you’re sitting on your rear waiting for the NRA to save the day by winning court cases and political campaigns, then you are way late to the party, pal. There’s far more and before than those end game strategies. Check it out!

        • Who knows? The appeal might be true, NRA spent all they had available to keep Hillary out of the white house. If so, well spent and better results in CA would not have meant diddley! I’m already a Benefactor member, but I’ll have to pony up some $$ to refurbish the treasury.

    • The best thing you can do is get everyone you can to sign and support California seccession. Nothing will fix California faster than screwing it up further.

        • Because ~10% of the US population lives in the state, it has the world’s 6th largest economy, and takes $0.78 of federal funding for every $1.00 it pays.

It also has historically been the bellwether of the progressive movement; what happens in California often gets adopted by the other liberal states. Ignore it at your peril.

    • Prop 63 passed with a 2-to-1 margin. The gap was almost 3 million votes, man. Sorry, but the NRA could have dumped its entire operating budget into that fight and it very likely still would have passed, because California has many millions more shitheads than thinking people.

The strategy seems to be to fight such nonsense in court, which will still be expensive, but at least has a tiny chance of success. Electoral wins for the pro-2A side in California just aren’t in the cards anymore.

    • The NRA didn’t have the resources to transport 5 million voters into CA in time for the election. Prop 63 was real easy with all your neighbors voting for it.
So, Kurt, it’s up to the SCOTUS to overturn it which is why we don’t live in a pure democracy. The NRA you are peeing on will fund a case that does that and probably a lot more.
You can thank them later with a donation.

    • Dear California: Thanks for abandoning democracy, the constitution, and morality. All you pseudo “conservatives” and “constitutionalists” living the Californian cesspool lifestyle that didn’t vote or even bother to register are true Americans indeed.

Instead of blaming the NRA it would be better if you just STFU.

    • I am with you!

they===the NRA gave all of members back only 98,000$ that’s embarrassing to anyone
not even a buck per member? really?

    • You sound like a lot of my fellow New Yorkers. To echo the sentiment of several other commenters, the NRA cannot bus in voters to override the crazed liberals in cities like NYC and LA. They also cannot sway fanatical, totalitarian progressive politicians like Andrew Cuomo or Gavin Newsom or whoever is next in line to ruin life for you folks out west. The NRA, however, is still a great organization that is worth supporting.

  3. $156 for something that’s IPX-6 rated (withstands water jets but not any type of submersion) and is meant to make your rifle “operator as fuck”…

    That’s a joke right?

Nice shot by the cops in the balcony video.

    • Yes, nice shot. There’s almost zero need for snipers and death squads, I mean, SWAT teams, but this is the reason we have them. Now, if only LE officials could avoid the urge to deploy them when they aren’t needed…

      • Every town wants a SWAT team because it’s badass and “just in case” something happens.

The problem is that they don’t need them and then need to justify the expenditures they’ve made so they use them for things where they are not necessary. In this case, I’m OK with it. Kicking down a door, flashbanging a baby, shooting the dogs and possibly the homeowners over a couple grams of pot… yeah not so much.

  4. You know that if Chase were a Trumpster, CBS would trumpet that news…besides that, Trumpsters don’t have to go away mad, they won!

  5. But if you combine the forward grip with the green laser and the tacti cal light, what are you going to do with the rest of you’re cheese grater forearm?

  6. I just renewed my NRA membership, and now I’m also going to send the NRA-ILA a check.

The NRA delivered. I’ve belonged to a lot of organizations over the years, but never one that produced for me like the NRA.

It defeated all of Obama’s post-Newtown anti-gun legislative bullying, and now it helped to put down the Wicked B!tch of the East.

    I love the NRA!

    • During the Obama administration, in response to various statements and actions by Democrats, I joined the SAF as a lifetime member, initially joined the NRA on a five year membership, then upgraded to Easy Pay Life. Some time early in the Trump administration, I’ll have paid off a life membership.

      • I think I have some membership with SAF, not certain, but I always manage a check when they have a notable success, and they send me all their appeals. Likewise GOA. No one org is the be all to end all, spread it around.

    • Cue the NRA haters in 3… 2… 1…

We all agree the organization isn’t perfect, and they’ve screwed up before, but dammit, they absolutely did it right this time. They were Trump’s first major backer, and they jumped on the Trump bandwagon earlier than they ever had for any other candidate. He owes them big; hopefully it’ll pay off in good legislation. Trump’s all about loyalty and payback, so — here’s to hoping that his promises get fulfilled.

And hey – supporting the NRA doesn’t mean you don’t support GOA or SAF or any of the others. Join those, sure. Send checks, sure. But the NRA is the 800-lb gorilla of the bunch, and they’re the ones that twist arms and hold pols’ feet to the fire and make stuff happen on the Hill. They’re the ones the left demonizes, which means they’re probably a pretty good group to back.

      • “supporting the NRA doesn’t mean you don’t support GOA or SAF or any of the others”

Absolutely. The SAF gets a check from me too.

      • Another thing to consider about NRA, etc, we can now *HOPE* that the “guns are the third rail of American politics” meme will be strengthened to the point that Hillary’s 2020 campaign will kick off with a promise to strengthen 2A, repeal NFA and GCA, and go from there.

        • Very much hope not.

That is to say, I very much hope that the Hildebeast doesn’t even bother to run in 2020, so we don’t have to worry about whether she completely reverses her earlier positions regarding the natural right of people to defend themselves.

    • I finished paying for my life membership this summer. They did a good job over the summer. I know they are not perfect, but they are the 800lb gorilla the antis freak out about while groups like SAF come under the radar with some big wins. I donate to SAF, FPC(CA group) and one Oregon group as I hope my family in Oregon won’t get screwed over by people like GOV Brown (shirt).

  7. While I dropped to my knees a wept like a child at Hillary’s demise, the Left Coast infringement continues. Thanks NRA for chucking us under the bus. Note to the crew, when dem’s are 65% of the population, NRA pulls chocks and your on your own. Maybe they’ll air drop beans so we can fart to keep our powder dry. Cold day in hell I send coin to the NRA.

    • Shortsighted as hell.

The NRA didn’t squander their dollars in a losing effort in California, because — there was no chance to win.

Instead they went all-in on Trump, because Trump will appoint the Supreme Court justices who will be in the mold of Scalia, and it is that Supreme Court that will be deciding the case on the legality of your California laws.

So yes, you should send some coins to the NRA. They fought the fight intelligently, and they won the only way they could. Now as soon as we get one or two Justices confirmed, you and the rest of your California residents need to get to suing the unconstitutional infringements so that the case can make its way up to the Supreme Court and this horseplop can be defeated once and for all.

And when it is — I hope you’ll recognize that the NRA played it the only way they could have, and they will be hugely responsible for your ultimate liberation. And that it will have proven to be a hell of a lot more effective than if they had just burned through their cash in a doomed campaign to stop California from passing their ridiculous propositions.

      • Pretty much on the money. You maintain what you already have secured and once that is solid work on rescuing the rest. If they’d failed to hold what we alreay had and try to guarantee a future, we could’ve loat badly. It’s a gamble either way. Stick around folks- they’ll get to you. Until then just hold on to what you’ve got right now.

      • Well said Ted. And may I add I live in Illinois where my gun rights have dramatically improved in the last few years…yeah I know it took court rulings too. SCOTUS for the win.

        • I am a REALLY not fan of IL in general, but credit where credit is due. Unlike some others, IL took the SCOTUS rulings and ran with them, instead of attempting to pretend the ruling meant something else than it did. That’s why you have actually seen real improvements, unlike CA, NJ, and others.

      • “NRA didn’t squander their dollars in a losing effort in California, because — there was no chance to win”

1000 + pistols dropped from the approved list, soon to be a wheel gun state, open carry rifles banned, less than 5 counties out of 51 issue CCW’s, background checks for ammo, lawfully purchased rifles soon to be illegal.

It is what it is. Know this, when the tipping point is reach by a majority of democrats, patriarchs of 2A leave the locals to the wolves.

        • Californians love to complain about the NRA and wants it to clean up California’s mess.

But it’s your mess. Yours. Clean your own damn toilet. You only need another 3 million votes and you’re there.

Good luck. I mean it. Good luck.

Meanwhile, I’m hoping for Trump to drain the swamp. Which will do more good for Californians than Californians ever did.

        • Hey Californians, get this through your head:

You aren’t any more special than anyone else. Live among liberals, play by the liberals rules. I moved away from liberals 5 years ago and I couldn’t be happier. Move.the.fvck.out.

    • The NRA didn’t throw you under a bus, Mk. The NRA chose to not fight a state-level battle it had no – zero, zip, nada – chance of winning.

It focused on getting a candidate elected who will have a major say over the composition not only of the Supreme Court but also the circuit courts, which benefits gun rights everywhere in the country eventually. Not just California.

I used to live in CA. I learned to shoot there (of all places). And I’m sorry to see the laws that are passing, pass. But the majority of people who voted, voted in a democratic process for the ammo checks to pass. The only real way to defeat that is to push it up to the level of the republic where judges remember that majority rule is mob rule on rights issues.

And the way to make sure such judges are appointed is to focus on the highest level of the republic, since that’s the level those judges are appointed at.

I’m sorry. I truly am. But for the country as a whole it is far better to not have Hillary in the white house, than to have a single problematic state check its slide briefly.

        • FLAME DELETED Screw California. You want all the benefits of living in California but not have any of the drawbacks of living with liberals. I put up with lower quality location but don’t have to live among liberals. FLAME DELETED

  8. If the NRA tells my congressman (Desantis, FL-6) to stop using his NRA rating as as an excuse to be a dick to consitutants I’ll give them money. Till then no deal

    • If you are a constituent, tell him yourself! It will be far more powerful than any rating from NRA, you can campaign against him inside his own district, raise money and volunteer for his opponents, you can even run against him!

  9. Chris Rock once observed that “If your daughter is dancing with a pole, you fucked up as a parent!” I’m thinking that’s also true of Mr. Carter’s parents. 🙁

  10. Folks, I’m very glad Hillary did not get elected. But for any thinking person Donald stands a good chance of being a complete trainwreck, regarding more than only gun rights.

    Vigilance.

    • I’m an iggorunt OFWG, but I took that as his declaration of his proud membership in LGBTQWTFBBQ and other assorted agencies.

  11. I fought for gun rights for 25 years with my money, my voice and my pen in Commifornia to no avail. I finally had enough and left. The public has been indoctrinated into a free sh*t army of kiberals and those who support keeping the average guy under their thumb. Short if a revolution, it isn’t going to change. Seal the borders and don’t let the liberals leave!!!

  12. Liberals and gun-grabbers hate and fear the NRA.
The NRA is the big dog in the fight for gun rights, and has been for decades. NRA/ILA has been largely successful in the Courts, and recent ad campaigns were well done. These efforts are funded only by contributions and are worth continued support.
Think how much more effective the NRA would be if every gun owner were an NRA member.
    Consider it an investment.
