Tim Kaine: Ban 15-Round ‘Clips,’ Hold Gun Dealers Liable for Misuse of Firearms – “Consider the scenario–(Vester Lee) Flanagan passed a federal background check for his gun. He passed the very same check that Hillary Clinton, Gabby Giffords, and others assure us will reduce crime and/or make us safer. But after passing the check and acquiring the gun, Flanagan carried out an evil deed. Background checks will never stop a latent criminal from getting a gun; they only stop actual criminals. Yet even though the law was followed regarding Flanagan–a federal background check completed and passed–Kaine’s response was to push for more liability on the licensed gun dealer. In other words, he wants the gun dealer held responsible for what a buyer does after exiting the store with a firearm the FBI allowed him to purchase.” He is the very model of the modern civilian disarmer.

Which has something to do with…

Gun CEO worries about Hillary Clinton as president – “‘Certainly, this is a unique time in our history, because for the very first time ever, we have the nominee of a major political party, one with a very reasonable likelihood of winning the presidency, overtly stating that the Supreme Court got it wrong…. and actively campaigning against the lawful commerce in arms,’ (Mike) Fifer said in an earnings call. ‘That’s unprecedented, and it will be hard for any of us to believe that didn’t have some impact, but it can’t be measured,’ Fifer said. One way of possibly measuring the impact is Ruger’s 19% spike in sales.” Fifer’s keeping his eye on the long term.

And speaking of CEOs who are paying attention to November and beyond…

S&W sends a big check to the NSSF: Smith & Wesson gives $500k in gun rights drive – “We are honored to support this effort on behalf of our employees and especially the law-abiding firearm owners of Massachusetts, who have so recently been denied their fundamental rights through arbitrary government action that threatens to turn lawful gun owners and dealers into criminals.”

WOW Wednesday: Why Shooting is an Olympic Sport – “In the introduction to Olympic Shooting by Col. Jim Crossman, two-time Olympic Champion and Vice President of the International Shooting Sports Federation Gary Anderson wrote: ‘It is to the credit of the Olympic movement that a wide range of athlete attributes are tested by many different sports and individual events in the Olympic program. Those events are not limited to testing speed or strength or endurance. Many Olympic events also test precise motor control skills and the athletes’ mental abilities to continue to perform those skills under the pressure of competition. Shooting is that kind of sport and has been an important part of the Olympic sports calendar since the modern inception in 1896.’”

The Islamic State likes America’s ‘dumb’ gun laws, defector says – “Speaking to the New York Times’s Rukmini Callimachi, Harry Sarfo was characterizing how the group would approach attacks on foreign soil differently in the United States than in Europe, where strict gun control meant they favored using recruits with access to criminal networks. ‘For America and Canada, it’s much easier for them to get them over the social network, because they say the Americans are dumb — they have open gun policies,” Sarfo said from a prison in Germany. ‘They say we can radicalize them easily, and if they have no prior record, they can buy guns, so we don’t need to have a contact man who has to provide guns for them.'” And yet the worst ISIS attack so far have taken place in Europe where they have “smart” gun laws.

  1. Freedom can be dangerous. The counter to a radicalized American buying a gun legally and committing an atrocity is to see to it that all non radicalized Americans are armed all thru-out the country at all times.

No more GFZ’s, no more permission slips to carry. When the lone jihadi hits a movie theater he is confronted by 200-300 armed Americans.

  2. I’ve never heard of a 15 round clip. 5, 8 or 10 is all I’ve heard of. Why is it we have politicians that write bills about things they know nothing about? It would be funny if it wasn’t so serious. They talk about assault weapons, but they really want to ban all semiautos.

    • Springfield XDM – 19 round – 4 over his limit.
Springfield XD Mod 2 – 13 round and 16 round.
When they come for them, they can have them one bullet at a time.

    • I’m kinda thinking a “Whoosh” is in order at this point.

      NorincoJay said C L I P. We’ll let that sink in a minute.

      • There are several different capacity CLIPS for Garands, there are 10-round (stripper) CLIPS for 5.56, there are 5-round (stripper) clips for 7.62 NATO, what is your problem with the word?

    • When can we let go of the magazine vs. clip thing? I know more than a few gun folk who have been shooting their whole lives who say “clip” when they should say “magazine”. It’s not just an “ignorant gun grabber” thing. It’s more of a “most people don’t give a shit about using accurate language” thing, like the constant abuse of the word “literally” or people who say they “should of” done something.

I know it’s annoying to hear, but I stopped trying to push that “clip” rock up the hill a long time ago.

      • I generally don’t care about inaccurate language except when one is trying to use the power of government to take away rights. Then, before I will even entertain your position, you better demonstrate a working knowledge of the subject. Politicians are not being lazy… they have no idea what they are talking about.

      • Because when someone says clip they should mean a clip, not a magazine, words used to mean something.

I ride a motorcycle, when a newbie says they “drive” a motorcycle they get beaten down like a rented mule.

When you use words that make you look stupid dont be surprised when what you say and how you say it,

        is used against you.

        • My point is that we have a finite amount of energy and time to fight the gun-grabbers. We can spend that time picking apart the words they use, or we can get over it and use our energy to point out why their ideas are shitty and won’t solve the problems they claim to be concerned about. When someone says the government should ban “30-round clips”, you can either mock them for saying “clips”, or you can point out that there is no evidence whatsoever that magazine limits would help prevent crime or reduce deaths in any way. Which do you think is the better argument?

As for motorcycles, isn’t “drive” a more accurate term? If two people are on a motorcycle, they’re both “riding” it, but only one is “driving” it.

  3. I have a better idea than Tim Kaine. Whereas background checks were promised by politicians to end crime in America and whereas those politicians should be held accountable for the failures of legislation that harm the rights of free citizens in this country; it is hereby proposed that every time a crime is committed by someone who passed a background check each politician who voted for the background checks be required to spend one week in jail. The politician who voted for the background check should be allowed to serve this time in minimum segments of at least two days at any time Congress is in recess but no politician should be required to spend more than six weeks in jail during any year nor be required to serve any time after they resign from Congress.

    • “… nor be required to serve any time after they resign from Congress.”

And return every penny of salary they received as well as any profits from investments.

    • I vote to amend your wording as follows:

The politician who voted for the background check shall serve this time in minimum segments of at least two days at any time Congress is in actual session, but no politician should be required to spend more than six weeks in jail during any single year nor be required to serve any time after IF they resign from Congress. (Emphasis “IF” they resign, not when. Sentence not completed prior to end of term shall be completed before legislator is allowed to leave Washington D.C.)

  4. That photo of Tim Kaine … he is trying to mimic Jim Carey’s “the Claw!” routine in the movie Liar, Liar.

  5. Kaine’s idea is to chase all FFL’s out of business as a backdoor way of gutting the 2A because, like a unicorn, you can’t keep and bear that which you cannot buy.

That’s the point. Chase the majority of FFL’s out of business with just the threat of lawsuits and then let Bloomberg and other groups sue the others into oblivion.

  6. Olympic shooting competitions should be done along the lines of high power/service rifle matches, not with .22s, .32s, or laz0rs.

      • It would rather defeat the significance of the Olympics since you may have noticed that the persons competing, as a rule, are not your “stock” human beings. Kind of the point, IMO.

    • The biathlon shooting phase in the Winter Olympics was originally shot over 300 metres using service calibre rifles. Allegedly the Scandinavian countries with their 6.5×55 cartridge used to win most of the time.

Live pigeon shooting and game shooting featured in the first Olympics held in Paris, 1900. For the record, the game shooting was won by Australian Donald Mackintosh, who also scored bronze in the pigeon shooting.

  7. The original Olympics were a test of military skills — running, throwing objects and hand to hand combat. If anything is an Olympic sport shooting is.

There is an event called the modern pentathlon which tests five military related skills. LT George S Patton competed in the 1912 games. He failed to medal because his shooting was so accurate that the measuring tools of the day could not detect one of his rounds and it was recorded as a miss. He used the new US Army service pistol, the Browning M1911 45 caliber automatic pistol. After the games he took a driving tour of Normandy and planned out a theorectical notary campaign. He kept the map because he thought it might be useful someday. In 1944 he used that plan during the Third Army’s breakout from Normandy,

    • The Ancient Olympics were also performed mostly nude, something that would have been of obvious interest to Mr. Kaine.

    • Patton’s 1912 Olympic pistol was a Colt 1905 .38 DA flattop revolver (similar to the later Officer’s Model .38 Target), not a .45ACP 1911 semiauto. I ‘assume’ that it was chambered in .38 Long Colt, although the gun was available (1905~1909) in .38 S&W Special. By any standard and with any pistol, he was a d@mn’ fine shot.

    • actually Patton and the 3rd Army were not at Normandy. They landed in southern France in August 1944 almost two full months after the landings in Normandy

      • They can ashore in Normandy since that was the only place the Allies held. Normandy is a deparment not a beach. They broke out of the Peninsula at Mortain during Operation Cobra

      • My dad was a 1st Lt with a tank destroyer unit. Came ashore at Normandy and participated in the breakout. His unit was part of the Third Army. I don’t know when the Third Army was actually formed up, but his unit was initially slated for the North African invasion, but was held back in the states and then sent to England to take part in invasion at Normandy. They didn’t go ashore during the initial phase, they had to wait until they could bring the tanks ashore. I think it was a couple of weeks from what he told me.

  8. I’d love to see Olympic 3gun. Too bad less than a dozen countries would be able to field teams not made up of military or police personnel.

  9. The Progressives fail to understand that our civilization has advanced due in part to weapons, not in spite of. Our ability to use tools to conquer our domain and keep it safe and stable is what made us today. It only stands to reason that those tools be in the hands and control of the people of society, in the many and not the few. Socialism and society doesn’t advance by giving up individual freedoms and liberties for the safe keeping by “others”. And if the Progressives don’t like it, they can go take off all their clothes and run around in the forest somewhere. I choose Freedom and I choose the tools to defend it, for myself, family, friends, neighbors, and country.

    • “The Progressives fail to” can start a huge and accurate deluge of mistakes, intentional failures and things that will never work right.

IMO we should just remove warning labels, the progressive problem will sort its self out in 100 years or less.

  10. So to prevent Jihadi’s from getting guns we have to restrict law abiders access to them. Sorta helps them kill us. Thanks legislators any other problem solving ideas?

  11. The ISIS guy is pretty clever, his quote is meant to manipulate liberal idiots into giving up more freedom. They’ll read what he said and cry “see? Even the terrorists admit guns are too easy to get!” He knows that even a complete gun ban won’t stop his kind from carrying out attacks and will simply make the population easier targets.

    • He’s a plant, they’re working together. Ohole’s going to have him extradited to GITMO so that Hussein Obama can free him, errr have his incarceration continue in Majorca ir Belize or some sh_t until we can palletize enough cash for Iran to kidnap another American.

  12. Ban the evil POS (D), wherever you find them in the universe there you will also find the heaping piles of what they claim they wish to ban or banish.

  13. And when the gun shop refuses to sell someone a gun because they’re afraid the buyer might use it for ill, they might be liable for discrimination lawsuits, depending on how many and which protected classes the possible customer fits into. (See: Willock vs. Elane Photography, for example).

    Brilliant plan, DNC.

    • They love it that way! They’re a suit happy bunch. It’d be great if the FBI could also be held accountable; after all, they’re the ones who gave the sale the thumbs up.

    • “Did you really think we want those laws observed?… The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws… just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt.”
      —AYN RAND, Atlas Shrugged

  14. The more I read of Kaine the more obvious it is that he is the prototype for the modern neutered beta “male” of the demtard party. What a whisy-washy pansie.

  15. Kaine’s saying gun dealers should be liable for criminals is just such low-hanging fruit for Trump, yet, just like Senator McCain back in 2008, he lets it slide. he is going to be just like McCain and ignore all the low-hanging fruit Hillary and Kaine provide. Hillary gets caught again lying about her e-mails and Obama gets caught shipping money to Iran, and what does Trump do? Attacks Gold Star parents and then attacks the Republicans who criticize him for attacking the Gold Star parents.

    • Ah, it’s been in the conservative news sites. The Khans are connected to the Clinton Foundation. As well as other DNC politico’s connected to the Khan law practice. So, can you say “DNC Hatchet Job! ” You know ” divide and conquer” is the oldest play in the Devils rulebook. It all goes on to something bigger on the horizon. Which may be bad news for the USA as we once knew it….Vote 2016….Maybe we’ll still have some rights left in 2017.

  16. It’s easy to radicalize people whose own government continually f’s them over like they were already terrorists. NICS, TSA, stop-and-frisk, “border checks” 100 miles inland. When people have been propagandized by the government since childhood to believe that the government IS the country, why should we be surprised that those people don’t have any love for their country? If I didn’t know the difference between the two comcepts, I wouldn’t, either.

  17. I hate to say it. But these reports look ugly on the future of any kind of freedom in the USA. All these articles turn my stomach as a freedom love independent US voter. It gives a deep sense of dread based numerous conspiracy theories that have been abound for many years. The most obvious, “One-World Global Governance, also known as the NWO. All starting to sound like all this is a deliberately concocted mess with the like of so-called terrorism, politics, US financial issues, etc….all a bunch of nonsense. A” 1984″ style ruse to keep the US citizenry off balance, and bring about circumstances, legislation, events…To break-down America and the US Constitutional-Bill of Rights for every US citizen. Even at the expense of make certain classes of the populace into criminals, creating false liability, endless bureaucracy, etc…We the people must fight whatever this is…Making sure at least a balance of power…Or checks and balances exist…This November 2016….

  18. NWO

As a conspiracy theory, the term New
World Order or NWO refers to the emergence of a totalitarian world government

The common theme in conspiracy theories about a New World Order is that a secretive power elite with a globalist agenda is conspiring to eventually rule the world through an authoritarian world government—which will replace sovereign nation-states—and an all-encompassing propaganda whose ideology hails the establishment of the New World Order as the culmination of history’s progress. Many influential historical and present figures have been purported to be part of a cabal that operates through many front organizations to orchestrate significant political and financial occurrences as well as significant world events as steps in an ongoing plot to achieve world domination through secret political gatherings and decision-making processes.
