The movement continues. From the Spike’s Tactical Facebook page:

Updated Policy for State and Local Law Enforcement Agency Sales:

In light of the recent and numerous anti-gun and anti-2nd Amendment laws pending across the Nation, Spike’s Tactical will be joining other manufacturers and distributors and limiting the business we do in states that have limited the right to keep and bear arms for their citizens . . .

As of today, it will be our policy not to sell prohibited items to law enforcement agencies, government agencies and agents in states, counties, cities and municipalities that have enacted restrictive gun control laws against their citizens. We urge other companies to join in support.

    • That’s the elephant in the room. So far the companies are rather small suppliers for LEO’s. If cops can’t have Glocks with standard cap mags, that will make a difference.

    • DAS Join the fight!

You can email them all at once, or print out the letter and mail it which is even better. We have a complete list of company addresses.

Sorry for the spam but we are making a difference.
I had emailed the CEO on Friday with a personal request to make this statement. Amazing, companies are listening. Yeah I know they are not a Colt, or Glock, but you know what, the governments supply of firearms and ammunition options are shrinking by the day!

      • Can you create a similar site, allowing us to email the companies which have joined the fight to protect the 2A, so we can send them letters of appreciation?

      • Thanks much for the links!

I emailed and then put the letter on a word processer – got it to fit on one page. Then, placed the correct address and attention line on each letter, and hand addressed them to each of the businesses listed.

        Silent

    • The moment Glock or Colt gets on board is when the PTB will sit up 7 take notice.
These smaller businesses are doing a fine thing at their own expense but it’s the big names that will tip the balance.

  1. This page should have a permanent post that list all the companies that are for The Movement. It should be updated regularly. This would make it easy to find out who to support instead of relying on my fading memory and searches.

    • I think it’s very unlikely that gun companies based in other countries, where gun laws are already restrictive, would support this movement. It’d be great, but I don’t see it happening.

      • not to mention those two companies’ bread and butter is through military and law enforcement sales.

Glock would have been largely limited if it were not for surpassing S&Ws legacy in law enforcement fighting handguns.

and god knows that beretta would be limited to shotguns in italy if it were not for the US military’s adoption of the M9.

  2. Until the big LE pistol and ammo manufacturers begin doing this, it’s just a feel good move. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy that these companies are doing it. But without Glock, Sig, Beretta, and Smith and Wesson making such a statement, how much does any of this truly matter? Remington, Winchester, Federal, et al need to stop selling into these states as well. Preventing the NYPD from buying ammo and new Glocks/Glock parts will have a much greater impact than not being able to buy a Spikes rifle.

    • Exactly. In the event of serious civilian disarmament, or a NFA/Hughes Amendment style regime on new semi automatic firearms, the big boys IE Remington, Colt, S&W, Glock, and maybe even Ruger will be able to survive on LEO/Military contracts. They can’t declare that they won’t sell to LEAs in AWB states, or they will never get a contract should the SHTF gun rights wise. The small scale manufacturers will be dead anyway. They won’t be able to challenge the volume discounts that the big boys will put out, or have the political muscle to leverage contracts. For the little guy, it’s keep us happy, and able to own guns, or die.

    • Glock, Beretta, Sig, S&W etc don’t have to stop selling to these states altogether, although it would be pretty awesome if they did. But they could make pretty strong statement, without killing their profits entirely by just saying, “we will only sell the same items that are legal for citizens to Law Enforcement.” Unless I am wrong, if you live in New York you can still buy a Glock, just with a seven round magazine only. So Glock, to be fair, just needs to say that they will not sell standard capacity magazines, or Glocks with standard capacity magazines, to New York law enforcement agencies. Same goes for ammunition. Only sell to Law Enforcement what you can sell to citizens, and all transactions have to be done in person, just like a citizen has to do.

Obviously, for company’s like Colt, not being able to sell AR15s to law enforcement would hurt the bottom line, as they don’t sell many pistols to Law Enforcement, but for SIG, Glock, S&W etc, eliminating their AR15, Sig 556 etc sales to Law Enforcement in New York, CA etc wouldn’t kill their business, and would make a huge statement.

At least that is the way I see it. The statement is simply, if citizens cant have it, neither can police.

      • According to the new NY law, the only Glock pistols that will be legal to purchase after their magazine ban is fully implemented will be the G36 and G39, which both hold 6 rounds. Glock does not make a 7 round magazine for any of their pistols, and I haven’t read that they intend to make such a magazine to meet the new ‘standards’ established by NY law. I agree with your statement JC. If NY LE agencies want to buy Glocks, they should be limited to the G36 and G39. You reap what you sow.

        • I bought my first Glock back in ’96, a Glock 23, and it came with a 10-round magazine. I have no doubt that they could produce a 7-round mag if needs be.

  3. KUDOS to Spikes! Every little bit helps…

Now if we can just get a major player on board (Glock, SW, Sig, Ruger…we’re looking at you…)

  4. Ive never heard of their website, but i just went there AND GAVE THEM MY BUSINESS, and made a purchase. I also sent them an email, applauding them, and I book marked them for future business too.

  5. Great to have you aboard, Spikes.

To get the “big guys” on, we’re going to need a huge PR campaign, and we’re going to have to target S&W and Ruger first. They’re domestically owned companies, which give it the best chances of success.

Sig and Glock will be a lot harder. Rather than focus on them, I’d focus on the ammunition companies because, again, domestically owned.

  6. Bravo! The civilian market is much larger than local and State governments and is what keeps the big companies in business, don’t kid yourselves. We can try nicely, but if they don’t join the crusade then my wallet will speak for me.

  7. If we want the major manufacturers to boycott LEO’s, it might help to have groups like the SAF, NRA and NSSF lead a boycott against companies that still do business with LEO’s. Sort of a “it’s them or it’s us” ultimatum.

  8. Barstow Cowboy: Couldn’t agree more. That tactic works great when used by Al Sharpton so it should work for us as well!

Come on NRA, NSSF, etc. it time to adopt those tactics used by the libtards because they WORK!

  9. I think it is safe to say, after today that Magpull will not be selling to LEOs, GVTs, or sadly, the public. Seems like the Dems in this state have lost their ever lovin’ minds!

  10. I emailed S&W and got a reply that they are reviewing my request. Hopefully they’ll get a massive influx of similar requests. That’d get New York’s attention.

  11. This is AWSOME!!!! Lets also let the well known manufacturers of ALL fire arms know that we will not support those that do not support this opposition!

  12. Depriving cops the best equipment they can get to protect society from the knuckle heads who do not care for any laws, let alone any gun laws, doesnt make sense. Im glad they are protesting, in their way, the stupid laws that my legislators are making. I understand their anger……BUT….not selling to the guys that need these tools the most…..maybe their frustration should be at someone else.

    • yeah but remember, in YOUR hands a 10rd magazine is a mass shooting waiting to happen and has no defensive use. In the hands of a cop, it’s his only defense against bad guys… In YOUR hands an AR is an assault rifle. In the hands of a cop it’s only a ‘high powered rifle’.

What amazes me is how many videos are all over the internet, news and other places that show cops unloading 10, 20, 30, 100 rounds to stop a guy. Then these people want to come and tell me that I should never need more than x number of rounds in my gun to defend myself. whaaaat?

the frustration comes from the fact that some people want to make it law for the lives of my family to be less important than a cop.

  13. Good for Spike’s and the other companies that are joining this boycott. As far as SIG and Glock are concerned, they’re foreign companies and probably think that the Second Amendment prohibits graven images.

Don’t expect any help from “America’s Gun.” And SIG’s motto is “when it counts.” Well, SIG, it counts now.

S&W and Ruger sold us out once before and I’m not expecting any help from them now. I haven’t forgotten. You shouldn’t either.

Lenin once said, “The Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them.” He couldn’t have described S&W and Ruger any better if he owned their stock.

  14. Go Spikes!

I’m happy to have been supporting and continue to support their business. Its great that they are local to me also!

Now if they can only keep parts in stock…

  15. We all remember the Boston Tea Party. But we forget how small of an event it really was at the time it was done. The statement made though, spoke volumes for the people who did it. For anyone to make a statement, it will almost undoubtedly start small and be meager, until the point where it isn’t small nor meager anymore. Then everyone will forget that it was anything but the grand point at which a person’s statements were heard and understood.

  16. I just emailed Wilson Combat to help do my part since they’re in my state. It might not help much, but maybe another well known name might add a little.

    • As a fellow Arkansan thank you for your help! Have been emailing Nighthawk Custom, Wilson Combat and Guncrafters to get them to help us out in this 2A battle and to try to get them to help us out by speaking at our 2A rallies a the State Capitol!!

  17. Frankly. I am tired of the “libtard” bs that goes around here! People need to wake up and smell the coffee that the Right wing has crapped on this country with “favor the rich” policies that led to the BIGGEST crash of the economy since the 30s.

As far as gun control? Mayne foks have never been next to old fashioned bloody street violence- this isnt Mogedishu or Kabul- we actually have very efficient Law enforcement in this nation.

I do believe in gun ownership and carrying concealed, but do you really need a m60 machine gun to feel”safe?”. Hand grenades? How about anti personnel mines? No politician in their right mind is gonna go for a complete ban, legally it cannot happen without change of the constitution, and financially it cannot happen- almost every state in the union has a gun manufacturer or parts supplier that EMPLOYS people, and those people VOTE and PAY taxes!!

I have seen idiots here literally argue NO restrictions, which would legally put guns in the hands of violent ex cons, pervs, mentally ill, and other ” no gun right having folks”- again, one need look at many 3rd world countries with unrestricted gun possession- NONE of those places are safe. Even with armed women and children

IMHO, Spike Tactical- and I have several AR carbines made by them- made a stupid blunder. Sales in so called “anti gun” police agencies andstates can go a long way toward nudging Colt, and Bushmaster- who continue to get govt contracts, off their perch, and finally PROVE Spikes is tier 1

  18. I like spike, I’m still waiting for spikes to release their titanium lightweight bcg. It’s been like 3 years, spikes don’t show products that you aren’t going to release.
