A shoot-out erupted in a 24-hour arts festival held in a warehouse in Trenton New Jersey last night.

Nearly two dozen people were injured after gunfire broke out early Sunday during a fight at an all-night art event in New Jersey’s capital city, leaving one suspect dead and authorities investigating if any others were involved.

Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said at a news conference that a total of 20 people were injured in the shooting, 16 of which were treated for gunshot wounds at nearby hospitals. A second suspect is in custody.

Police exchanged gunfire with at least one of the two suspects and one is dead.

Police have identified at least two suspects in the shooting. One, a 33-year-old man, was been pronounced dead while the other was taken into police custody. Onofri said that authorities are investigating if the suspect was shot and killed by someone else, or police. Trenton police at the scene told NJ.com that officers engaged with at least one gunman.

We eagerly await governor Phil Murphy’s statement explaining that still more strict gun control laws will solve New Jersey’s crime problem.

  1. Fake news. We know that firearms are strictly controlled in New Jersey. Therefore there is no way this could have happened.

    (sympathies for those involved)

    • I do not think you understand the anti-gun logic. If something good happened it was because of the strict gun laws. If something bad happened, it was in spite of them. There is literally no event that could defy their logic. If something bad happens despite strict gun control, it was either because it was not strict enough, or if all the guns have already been banned from civilian ownership, then it was because of knife control shoe control car control or whatever other control they want to make up.

      • Indeed, that is why despite gun control being proven to not work they frame it as:
‘This new gun control law did nothing, proving we need more…”

      • Magnificently unclear, run-on sentence. No one has any idea what you are trying to say. I would go back and sue your grade school English teacher.

  2. Thank goodness the 10Round Mag Rule went into effect this past Thursday. Can you imagine the carnage and warfare had Murphy not enact additional gun control legislations? Not only has ALL of my taxes (gas, sales, real estate, Decrease deductions) gone up, I am currently a criminal because not all of my “equipment” have 10 round mags and now I have to spend more money to decriminalize myself.

  3. DemoCommies in NJ .Gov will blame other states for “looser firearms control…” Criminals will of course bring their “easy access firearms” back to “heavy control NJ” to complete their criminal endeavors…That’s what Theyll say….

    • And none of the media addresses the fact it was the “Usual Suspects”.
I wonder if the perps were NRA members?

    • The Governor will enact emergency legislation banning the sale and possession of firearms in New Jersey’s new 10,000 mile extraterritorial jurisdiction.

  4. All night event with alcohol in New Jersey…sounds like a gangbanger magnet. A large event that is likely a “gun free zone”, in a state that is fundamentally a gun free zone no less, is what I call a free fire zone to be avoided.

  5. I wonder how many highly trained cops shot innocent people when they engaged the active shooter. Imagine how many would have died if some of those victims had a CCW. Thank Lucifer, that wasn’t the case.

    • Truth. “Trenton”, “All Night”, and “Art” are 3 terms that should never come together in the reality-based community. I had to double-check to make sure I read it right.

I’m sure us Pennsyltuckians and our “weak” firearms laws will somehow take some heat after this…

  6. Democrat pinko’s dark ops strike again as an older twisted sister made a move on a young one and he took no chit man! MS-13 against the Crip’s or the Bloods maybe the KKK and the BLM group! who knows, probably instigated by the Governor so he could get talking points an proof that stricter policies are needed Zzz!
Investigate him for armament running! better yet probably can’t keep it in his pants either

    • Love your name….. maybe the Feds did a flash mob choreographed dance number and all dropped their guns durring the hand stand bit….. you know the rest….

  7. Another case where New Jersey’s commonsensegunreformlaws were thwarted by the Iron River of guns flowing into the Garbage Dump State from less enlightened jurisdictions like New York.

  8. Soooo…Joizey is gonna’ be even MORE effed up. What’re they shooting?!? BB guns??? No dead folks and 20 shot?

  9. Here comes the candlelight vigil and march on Washington demanding the authorities confiscate guns from everyone.

    • Yep. That’s for sure.

Everytime this stuff happens I hear that little voice in my head…”keep your powder dry”.

  10. There were 70 shell casings picked up, sounds like quite the melee. Guessing most were cops. This could end up like that bar in Waco.

This was pushed in the Princeton area, folks asked if I wanted to go. Explains the diversity of the crowd. I suppose everyone wants to make Trenton someplace you’d want to visit, God bless them.

Comments from mayor this morning were despicable, said it was a public health problem. New mayor voted in the other day, sjw type, he’ll be no better.

      • FYI…..spilled from a fight then gun fight inside the building to outside the building. Thugs were shooting inside…cops engaged once they ran outside and continued shooting in the crowd and attempted to run away. All the shots expended happened in less than 30 seconds. It was definitely the concrete wild west.

  11. The morning after that cucked bitch Murphy signed more gun control laws into effect, I walked into the county sherrif’s office in NC and handed in my CHL application. In a couple weeks to a month, I’ll be able to go about my business legally armed, not to mention finally start my handgun collection. So glad I got out of NJ after all these years.

      • I’ve heard it used as some sort of newfangled right-leaning internet speak, meaning the “cucked” person in question is a fool who blindly follows leftist dogma and doesn’t understand the world for what it really is, like one who has been”red-pilled”. Being an older Marine, I am around younger guys who use these terms freely. I just hang on and enjoy the ride

        • I really dislike the use of the word, because it’s so often used in a similar way to kids who have just learned to cuss, without real understanding, just to sound cool. However, your explanation was outstanding. Cheers, and Semper Fi!

  12. Trenton police scanner is weekend entertainment.

2 of the funniest i ever heard …… Man trying to steal running air conditioner from window , now in tug of war with homeowner over it.

Naked man , in street , on crutches with broken leg , firing gun in air … ( may have mixed his pain meds with booze ! )

  13. Wow. 3 am “arts festival” in Trenton? Liquor bottles in the parking lot? Melee ensues? I’m shocked, SHOCKED, there was a shooting. Name that perpetrator; no mention in the fake news outlets.

    • Other news reported it as a “music and arts festival.” Which would explain why it was going strong at 3 am…

  14. It just can’t be,as New Effing Jersey is a Commiecrat utopia where they have strict gun control.
    sympathies for those involved

  15. AP is reporting that a local official blames a “neighborhood beef” for the shooting.

“Of 17 people treated for gunshot wounds, four of them, including a 13-year-old boy, remain in critical condition late Sunday morning, said Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri.

The shots rang out around 2:45 a.m. during the Art All Night Trenton festival that showcases local art, music, food and films. Onofri said a 33-year-old man was killed, apparently by police, and the second suspect is in custody. He said a “neighborhood beef” is behind the shooting.”

  16. posted on later article but i think it is also pertinent here….

I was there. The shooting started directly behind the ‘moms demand action’ table. Ironic?

Of course these dimwits still don’t understand that the thugs that committed this heinous act will shoot someone like disobeying the speed limit. They are CRIMINALS and criminals do not follow the law, therefore neutering any effect of a new law.

The police should be commended for their excellent job in such a chaotic and crowded situation. They do not always react well but seeing first hand this incident I can say without a doubt it was handled with much professionalism and courage.

The cops were attempting to shut down the event when this unfolded. There were multiple fights earlier and the cops decided, smartly, that this would just foment more unrest as the people involved in earlier fights were still there and not leaving. They almost had the entire event cleared when a fight started inside the building, which lead to the shooting.

There is also a news story from the local paper, the trentonian, that has a screen grab from a womans facebook page post 15 hours before the event took place stating to stay away from it because it was going to be shot up.

I am thankful that no police, volunteers or workers were injured in the shooting.
