The SIG SAUER Electro-Optics ECHO3 is a compact thermal reflex style sight available in a 1-6x or 2-12x magnification, equipped with Ballistic Data Xchange (BDX 2.0), the ECHO3 can be used with 9 different onboard SmartBDC™ ballistic holdover reticles or it can be paired with any KILOBDX rangefinder. The ECHO3 features a motion activated MOTAC™ display that powers up when it senses motion with over 6 hours of continuous runtime, and offers video and image recording in eight color palettes, and six brightness settings. The ECHO3 Includes a quick disconnect mount, with an easy to adjust zoom lens with throw lever attachment.

BDX seems kind of wasted if you don’t have an accompanying thermal range finder. You’d see your target in the sight but wouldn’t be able to see it in the range finder to calculate the drop. Does this mean one is in the works?
$4K is actually on the “cheap” side for a thermal optic, relatively speaking, especially for a unit that’s comparatively small and lightweight. But with 320×240 resolution, I’ll pass.
The 1-6x range combined with infinite eye relief is something I’ve been waiting on for a long time. You’re looking at a screen anyway, there’s absolutely no reason we should be limited to the same narrow eye box problems associated with traditional glass scopes. This one might not be it, but low-power, variable-magnification, day/night thermal fusion scopes with unlimited eye relief are the future for hunting and combat optics systems. I’d just like to see more development of them on the tactical/combat side of things like the new Steiner CQT

Sig thermals suck. I have a trijicon reapIR, flir RS32 and the sig. while not in the same price ranges the sig is crap.
Do yourself a favor and buy a trijicon or a pulsar and stay above 5k for best results.

In the multiverse theory you win even if you don’t buy a ticket in this version of reality because in some other universes you do buy the ticket and in some of those you win.
So that advertisement they run “You can’t win if you don’t play” is technically untrue… at least in some other universe…. if the multiverse theory is correct.
You may be technically correct, assuming that some version of you has bought a ticket and won. However, “No you can win if some you doesn’t play.” is not an easy tag line, would require too much background to understand, and be too open to erroneous interpretations.
Ok! Its small, compact along with a magnification factor. Image resolution really should be far better for the price. Not that I’m an expert, but electronics in this field are makeing a big leap, as I’m counting the 4k camera and screen image technology in this group. ( yea I know those things are not thermal), but at this price point the could have at least brought it up to at least a 720p level for visualization output.
Still for the size, it’s still remarkable and I’m sure just the starting edge of being more compact. The real question is “will it take a licking and beating and still keep on ticking”.
And for that price point will the warranty be able to hold up to real time.

Ok. I’m confused. Doe this come WITH Dick Tape? Or is that some kinda option I have to get from Sig or Midway? If it does come with Dick Tape, whats the cost? (plus shipping and handling) What exactly are the tactical applications for/with Dick Tape? Are there any advantages or disadvantages vis-a-vis the thermal image when using Dick Tape? Is Dick Tape a NFA item? ie: destructive device, AOW, or some kind of barrel enhancement system.
I think if this comes with the Dick Tape it would be worth the cost. My cousins friend who uses Dick Tape on the regular says it turned his life around.

I bought the Echo 1 about to years ago. Worth every penny at $1300 street price. The only drawback with it is that it will illuminate the “shooters face” whereas an eyepiece with rubber booty doesn’t. I’m not sure if the same occures with the “Direct view” but an illuminated screen has to emit light.
