SIG SAUER reckons the KILO2000 is “a rangefinder fit for any situation a shooter might encounter.” We’ve haven’t gotten our hands on the gizmo, never mind using one from inside a hot air balloon, so we can’t pass judgement. I’ve posted the full press release and specs after the jump. Meanwhile, we can put the TTAG seal of approval on SIG’s “Infinite Guarantee” which reads as follows . . .

We will repair or replace your SIG SAUER product in the event it becomes damaged or defective, at no charge to you. If we cannot repair your product, we will replace it with a product in perfect working order of equal or better physical condition. It doesn’t matter how it happened, whose fault it was, or where you purchased it.

Fully transferrable, no warrantee card required, no time limit, no charge. That, gentle reader, is how it’s done. Here’s the bit of kit covered by SIG’s industry-leading guarantee [via ammoland.com]:

Newington, NH -(AmmoLand.com)- The recent introduction of the highly innovative SIG SAUER Electro-Optics Division took SHOT Show 2015 by storm.

This new line of premium, high performance optics boasts some of the most advanced technology that the industry has ever seen. A member of this all-new SIG SAUER product line that truly has the ability to set the standard for its category is the KILO2000 Rangefinder.

Extreme accuracy was the goal throughout the engineering process of the KILO2000. Updating at 4x per second in HyperScan mode, the KILO2000 rangefinder with patented LightWave DSP technology is amazingly fast as well. Couple that with the ability to range reflective targets at 3,400 yards, trees at 1,500 yards, and deer at 1,200 yards for simple, intuitive long distance ranging.

The built-in inclinometer of the KILO2000 calculates AMR (Angle Modified Range) for angled shots to ensure accuracy. Our proprietary Lumatic OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) Display, automatically adjusts display intensity to match ambient light conditions, bright in bright conditions and dim in twilight to protect the shooter’s eye. As opposed to other products, the KILO’s simplified user interface clearly displays system status, but while ranging, only provides the necessary range data. At a very compact size of 7 X 25mm, the capabilities of the KILO2000 have created a rangefinder fit for any situation a shooter might encounter.

    • I was thinking the same thing.

Lost one to a vehicle fire, sent them what was left, and got a new one back in a week.

      That is a warranty.

    • Came here to post the same thing, Vortex’s warranty crushes this. Damaged a nice PST, called and told them I needed a fix, even said I would pay for it as it was 100% my fault. The scope was even spraypainted to match my rifle and the customer service rep actually apologized that they “had to” send me a new optic instead of fixing my broken one so I’d have to repaint it.

  1. The fine print matters. If this thing has any electronics in it, and an OLED display and a battery implies that it does, then infinity is 5 years. Some infinities are more infinite than others.

    • No kidding. Wake up, guys.

Please note that our Infinite Guarantee excludes coverage for intentional damage, misuse, cosmetic damage that does not affect the performance of the optic, loss, theft, or unauthorized repair or modification. All electronic and Tritium components are covered for 5 years from manufacturing date, please see website for full details.

    • Yeah, saw that. They make a big point about ‘infinite’ then go right on to disclaim items with electronics limited to 5 years. Weaselwords.

    • ” If this thing has any electronics in it, and an OLED display and a battery implies that it does, then infinity is 5 years.”

      Interesting…

Well, then work the system in your favor.

If the electronics die after 5 years, ‘forget’ you left it on the ground right behind your truck’s tire, mounted on a crap rifle.

      Hey, sh!t happens, don’t ya know…

  2. Isn’t it great to see a company support their products this well! Surely they must have a great deal of confidence in what they make. Had a similar incident recently with a Buck folding knife. Over some years, the knife had developed some lateral play in the blade when open. Sent to Buck with a note explaining the problem, Did not remember when, where, etc. about the purchase. Eight days later, my new Buck knife arrived, along with a 25% off coupon for my next Buck knife purchase. Gotta’ love it! Going to my local gun store this weekend to look at Sig 1911’s – in 45ACP, naturally!

  3. I just upgraded to the bushnell arc 1 mile binos. They should be here any day. Since I carry binos and a LRF when hunting, why not combine?

  4. I checked out one of these in July at it was freaking impressive. SUPER fast and ranged way, way farther then my Bushnell unit. Slick piece and it’s going to be hard to beat anywhere near the price range. They’re coming out swinging with features and aggressive pricing on this and the silencer line. So far I’ve been impressed with the scopes I’ve seen but the pricing is still very much in the premium category (a la Nightforce).

  5. Uh. The electronics have a 5 year warranty. On a rangefinder, that’s pretty important.

Its like saying your TV has an infinite warranty. Except the electronics only have a 5 year warranty.

I’m not knocking it. 5 years is still pretty good. But lets face it. This thing is a piece of electronic equipment more than it is anything else.

This is also an industry norm. Do you know that Leupold lifetime warranty? Well the electronics, including those in any illuminated reticle scope are only warranted for 2 years. Same for Bushnell.

    Don

  6. my Kilo 2K took a crap. I loved it but it has a 5 year warranty. Big write up in an article about the Kilo2000 saying infinite warranty and they’d replace it if it can’t be repaired. NOT TRUE. Nice try tho. I was upset when I was told to read the fine print. I wish the editors and writers would not print false info.

  7. Just called about my SIG 2000 range finder which was purchased in 2016. Display stoped working and i was told it only had a 5 year warrintey and it could not be repaired. If i would of known that when i purchased it i would not of.
why not just go ahead and print it on the box THIS PRODUCT IS ONLY GOOD FOR 5 YEARS.
Way too much money for a 5 year product
