The SIG Custom Works P320 AXG Scorpion is a metal, 9mm striker-fired pistol, with the AXG Carry grip module featuring custom Hogue G10 grip panels and backstrap insert, precision machined deep undercut, and an extended beavertail for an ergonomic, comfortable fit. Nice to see an article about a firearm instead of politics. Not that politics are not important. I used to despise DA/SA autos. Then I was gifted a P-220. I now have three vintage Sigs. I still think DA/SA is an answer looking for a question. But, damn! These things shoot! Now if Sig will introduce it in a serious caliber…

I like some DA/SA guns….PP, Beretta 92, 81, and Tomcat.
The 92 with a D spring is a thing of beauty for the DA (cocking) shot and easy to shoot at range in SA.
I like the Sig Build Quality but have never shot them well.
i never use the da portion of the cz trigger. east enough to switch to sa; i just don’t utilize it.
if i wanted more circumfrance i’d consider a 97.

Yeah they made big waves about the FCU’s in the summer. They were supposed to start shipping this month, but I can’t see any evidence that is happening at this point.
Why an aluminum grip?

You will be able to buy an FCU from Sig for several hundred dollars . . .

I really want to like Sigs but other than my P210, they just don’t do it for me. I had a 226 Legion and a 320 compact, neither of which I shot very well so I sold them both. I’ve found that a CZ with a little love from Cajun Gun Works is less expensive and a better shoot than a Sig, and even with the extra work, cost less than a comparable Sig.

I have reviewed a whole lot of guns here, and there are few, very few, that do as well as the combination you’ve mentioned. Especially for the price.
The ONLY double stack wondernine I’ve shot that I like better than the 75 series, is a BHP. since they are increasingly more expensive and harder to find, I will be sticking with CZ’s for the foreseeable future.
I REALLY wish some Turkish manufacturer would start making $350 aluminum framed BHP clones…..
Joel, BLASPHEMY! The Turks made Hi-Powers. Never saw one that would function. Even with ball ammo. I’ve owned three. Two were pure Belgian. The one I currently own is “Made in Belgium. Assembled in Portugal” model. It has been through Wayne Novack’s shop. So, there is that. It’s a very nice pistol. For a 9mm.

Past the point of making every round go bang every time u pull the trigger, and making it hit where u point it, everything else is aesthetics. $1000 for a slicked up 9 that does exactly what my $400 9 does, just seems like throwing money away on lipstick. Not at all calling this beautiful gun a pig, just saying it seems quite overpriced. If I could just throw money at stuff, I’d have a lot more stuff!!
Zirconium encrusted tweezers tuned by a tweezer tuner are so much better then the Dollar General ones. Who would want to die from being shot with a HiPoint?
It’s the same parallel to those that like to buy fast sports cars. Every car will get to 60 no problem, one just does it way, way faster than the other, and you can also take it to the race track and have a good time, and that’s the appeal. The price goes well beyond aesthetics, when you actually apply the pedal to the metal.
If you never do a race in the first place, then this isn’t the gun for you.
They’re really getting their money’s worth out of that P320 design.
That’s because they finally came out with a polymer frame gun that is nearly the equal of a Glock and they’re making a boatload of money with those 320s.
The P320 is not as good as a Glock and I say that as a Glockophobe. They are making oodles of money on the P320 because they won the MHS contract and all the LARPers jumped aboard. If FN or Beretta won the contract few would be buying the P320.
They are? I haven’t seen a single one in the wild (and only like 3 in gun stores) since a few years back, when it came to light that the gun would fire itself if you breathed on the slide wrong. Every time you turned around there was another major LEA or alphabet agency adopting it, and that all vanished overnight. Aside from the occasional press release on gun blogs (which I always mock, because seriously, this once fantastic company is now a joke; when was the last time they released a new design that *didnt* need to be recalled?) I haven’t heard or seen anything about the 320 in the wider world
This gun isn’t even remotely competitive with the Glock – you can go and read up all about the procurement process (and Glock’s appeal of the decision to go with the Sig).
The Glock outperformed the Sig in all of the Modular Handgun Tests.
Sig undercut Glock’s price by BILLIONS which is why Sig got the contract.
Look at the true professionals who are proficient and prolific handgun users – SEALs, Secret Service, etc – they’ve all switched over from the Sig P229 or P226 to the Glock 19.
And totally unrelated fact – I think the only dudes who are truly “operating” with 1911s anymore are Delta and the FBI HRT.
Neither Delta or HRT are running 1911s. Delta switched to Glocks almost a decade and half ago.
Very nice looking, but it appears the grip screws at about the 2:10 mark in the video looks screwed up…..not good.
But then I’m not buying anything at this time with the mark up on everything, besides I have way more then I can shoot now!
Man, ammo prices nowadays… I almost vomited blood the last time I saw some .44 Specials at a gun show.
I love my p320 RXP XC, and this AXG S is beautiful. What SIG is doing, is beautiful.
I wonder if it’ll only be offered in Compact/M18 barrel length,or if the full sized (4.7 to 5.2 inch barrel length) will be an available option?
Or a ” Tacops” version (320 Compact confirmation but with the 4.5 Inch threaded barrel)?

I’ve not yet shooted a pistul that has them straight style triggers, what’s the advantage?

So, according to the reviews so far, it doesn’t weigh more or less than the polymer version and it has more felt recoil because the frame doesn’t flex like a polymer, and it costs more.
The Legion grip module already made this obsolete before this came out – it has polymer flex, tungsten weight (10 ounces more!).
All I can think of as a reason for this to exist is to please the Fudds who are scared of “new fangled” technology like Polymer.
