  1. I like 357. HEY! Just saw Guns & Ammo TV on Sportsman channel. They featured the new Kimber 357snubby revolver-it looked SPECTACULAR with a great trigger pull and little recoil(did not SEE the gigantic price)…

    • In my opinion, the .357 is one of the best all-round cartridges there is – from 2″ to 18″, its a great round. There are better cartridges than it, in every single category, but few rounds perform as well across so many. If I was in a situation where I only had access to a single cartridge/ or guns of a single caliber…it would be the .357.

    • ” They featured the new Kimber 357snubby revolver-it looked SPECTACULAR with a great trigger pull and little recoil…”

Is there such a beast as .357 and “little recoil”?

      Anyone? Beuller?

Snubbie .357 equates *PAIN* in my experience…

      • EDIT –

        First line should read:

“Is there such a beast as a snubbie in .357 and “little recoil”?”

      • Well Geoff there was very little muzzle rise as he shot 6 rounds of full power 357- and quickly too. BTW “spectacular” was the TV dudes description… alas I probably will buy a little Taurus or steel Rossi 357(6 with the Rossi). The wife wants to carry one…

        • “The wife wants to carry one…”

When the wife is happy, there is ‘peace in the tepee’ (or is that Tipi?)… 🙂

  2. I’m digging the artful eye some of these entries have. The mosin and the smle are great photos! (Not sayin the others are bad)

    • That Lee Enfield stock looks like it was used to perform some field expediant dental adjustments. And who wouldn’t want yet another varient of the moist nugget.

    • I don’t know what it is about .303, but it just beats the hell out of me off the bench. My no 4 mk I* prints beautiful groups, right up to the point I start flinching…

      • H-P. In my experience of milsurps the stocks are always too short, the butt plate is usually steel and too narrow. They’re made to fit the generic everyman of a 100 years ago in europe.

I’m a big guy and they beat me up. Part of that is the stock and part is that when I shoot a milsurp I’m usually shooting generic milsurp fmj and I tend to shoot 60 plus rounds from the bench position.

I have a collection of add on recoil pads that help some. Plus in CA I’m usually shooting in a tee shirt.

        • Heyyyy so you are a ca prisoner like myself.
If you are shooting Sunday July 10in the vicinity of Sac come join me for skeet at Cordova Shooting Center. 1:30pm

  3. .44 Remington magnum is still the most versatile revolver round ever!! I can down load it so it recoil like a 38 special, or I can push a 265 gr hard cast lead semi wadcutter to 1450 FPS. Or anything in between. I LOVE it so much, I wanna get it pregnant.

  4. Guns are educational. Dr told my wife she has a nodule .9 mm in her neck. I know exactly how big that is just like my favorite antigun articles demonizing the great .9 mm round. My favorite is .9 mm round because it makes me laugh.

  5. The Garand would look just a little nicer next to a clip (not a magazine!) of black tip armor piercing rounds. .30-06 AP rounds are getting a bit rare these days.

  6. For some reason, this comment box is not offering a way for me to post a photo…
So I will have to post this web page for the M982 Excalibur round for the M777 155mm Howitzer… (-:
It should be perfectly Legal in California, too…
No ‘pistol-type handle’, nor adjustable stock, nor is it “a black gun”, and I don’t know of ANYONE who could carry more than 7 rounds at a time… LOL!!

  7. 30.06 rifle round is the most versatile round ever created , although I am starting to drift 300 blackout . The 30.06 is the re-loaders paradise , from a 90 grain to 225 grain in the same barrel twist with little variations . I know the long cartridge has it’s naysayers in auto loader format but my Noreen functions flawlessly now that I’ve gotten used to it and 20 + 1 isn’t too bad . I still like my 4 round bolts though and I never feel under powered for what ever I would encounter .
