You’re probably familiar with EOTech’s flip-up G33 3X magnifier which works beautifully with one of their holographic weapons sights. The G33 gives you instant magnification to more easily reach targets out to about 300 yards or so. It isn’t in expensive — a G33 will run you close to $600 — but it’s built like a tank and has exceptional clarity.

Now EOTech’s announced three new magnifiers, including a new, more affordable model at about 1/2 the price.

First there’s the new smaller G43. It gives shooters flip-up 3X magnification in a shorter, lighter package.

The G43 MSRP will be $629. And if you want a little more magnification, there’s the new G45 with 5X magnification.

MSRP is $669. Both the G43 and G45 will hit the stores in the spring. But available right now is the EOTech G30.

The G30 is a fixed (no flip-up) magnifier that has the usual EOTech clarity, but no rubberized armor and doesn’t flip up or out of view. It does, however, have a QD lever release for quick installation and, well, de-installation. It also MSRPs at $319 and you can find it at $299 retail.

  1. I’m going to assume the G45 is 5x. Since the 43 is 3x. I find a fixed prism better for my eyes than messing with a flip magnifier. Being an Eotech they will sell a lot of them.

  2. Sorry, but I would say it IS expensive, especially when you compare it to the options available. I can get a Sig Juliet magnifier for half the price. Is it built like a tank? Time will tell, but it does have Sig’s seal on it, which I would say isn’t that shabby.

    • I agree with you P-Dog. It is expensive like all eotech products. Especially when there are so many other options out there. Options I choose over eotech every time I purchase optics. But hey I don’t have unlimited funds like some.

      • I don’t get how you guys always complain that one optic is more expensive than another. First of all $700 is cheap for magnifier that will last somebody a lifetime; its not a $200 sushi dinner that will come out an orifice in 8 hours after being digested, its something that will last 100 years if its not abused. To me 30k for an NFA registered m-16a2 is also cheap cuz its something that will maintain its value or appreciate. Maybe i just went to university and got a good degree where i earn a nice salary and don’t live pay cheque to pay cheque and cry over an optic being a few hundred dollars more. And theres a reason SOCOM uses eotech and not sig optics.

        • Indeed, Mike. I think the big difference is that the Trijicon, EOtech, and Aimpoint magnifiers are made in Western Democracies.

Sig, Holosun, Vortex, etc… Are made in Asia.

I prefer to not support Wuhan Flu Shop Optics Inc.

  3. What’s the point of the no-flip G30? Do you walk around outside with it on, rip if off and stow it when you’re about to enter a building, and then pause to put it back on before you exit? If you’re going to keep it on, there are better choices for 3x while looking through a tube that cost less than $1000.

    • I don’t get it, either.

Why not just go with a 1-4x scope optimized for the AR-15 platform?

Expecting close-quarters combat? Set the zoom dial to 1x — which allows you to shoot accurately with both eyes open by the way.

Expecting to shoot at someone 200 yards away? Set the zoom dial to 4x and you are good to go.

      • have u ever done cqb thru a 1x scope or optic? it sucks. i’d rather have a flat top for cqb ranges. the eotech with magnifier is what most team guys use for reason. and i have an elcan spectre dr 1-4 with a piggyback trijicon sro mounted on top my 14.5 cuz looking thru an optic for cqb sucks; event 1x, the field of view is so narrow. also have 2 eoetchs with 3x magnifiers on two mk18’s with cans. On my mk 12 mod 1 i have a Leupold TS30-A2 Mark 4 2.5-8x36mm TMR with a piggyback trijicon sro mounted on top the scope. and i don’t need zoom till going past 300 yards. 0-300 is flat trajectory.

Don’t Marines still have to qualify out to 500 yards with *iron sights* in boot camp? Pretty sure 3x magnification will help you bullseye targets a lot farther away than 300 yards.

    • My nephew and young brother in law are both active duty Marines. Both went through boot camp within the last 4 years, both used Trijicon ACOG.

  5. The fixed magnifier looks like it has the same key in the bottom. I wonder if you can replace the mount with a flippy one?

  6. Love my G33 / EXPS-2 combination on my 16″ AR. I would definitely consider the G43 for a shorter barreled rifle that has less upper rail real-estate
