SHOT Show: CMC Triggers Releases Remington 700 Trigger, And It’s Great

At SHOT Show this year CMC Triggers announced their first-ever bolt gun trigger and, of course, it’s for the Remington 700. It’s cool to see their signature trigger bow nested inside that bolt-action trigger guard. TTAG went hands-on with a prototype — just dry firing — and we were very impressed.

The safety lever is still an in-the-works item, but the rest of it is there.

I do generally prefer the feel of a flat trigger bow, and CMC’s hook on the bottom acts as an indexing point to aid with consistent finger placement.

One look and you know instantly this is a CMC product.

There is zero take-up whatsoever. Set your finger on that trigger and it’s as solid as a telephone pole.

Start applying pressure and it doesn’t move. No creep whatsoever.

Until you hit — at least how this one is adjusted — maybe two pounds of pressure. Then DINK, a sudden and complete break much like that proverbial glass rod we’re all looking for. It’s an absolutely fantastic trigger.

If you’re at SHOT Show this year, you’ll find the CMC R700 trigger with their signature flat trigger bow installed in a Black Collar Arms Pork Sword pistol build at the CMC booth. Go check it out!
