Sheriff: My Deputies Won’t Be Beto O’Rourke’s ‘Personal Gestapo’

Americans continue to talk about obscure Democrat presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke‘s proud proclamation at September’s Democratic debate. “Hell yes!  We’re going to take your AR-15s. And AK-47s,” O’Rourke said. Of course, Beto would be bravely leading all of the required confiscation squads from behind.

Robert Francis can’t avoid questions about how his gun grab would work in the real world. Even from friendly interviewers. MSNBC Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough recently asked the former congressman what would happen to people who refuse to comply with a federal mandatory “buy-back.”

Beto blurted in response . . .

“Yeah, I think just as in any law that is not followed or flagrantly abused, there have to be consequences or else there is no respect for the law,” O’Rourke replied. “So you know, in that case I think there would be a visit by law enforcement to recover that firearm and to make sure that it is purchased, bought back so that it cannot be potentially used against somebody else.”

He’s quick to commit the lives of local LEOs to fulfilling his dreams of firearms confiscation. However, not everyone in the law enforcement community is supportive of the would-be tyrant-in-chief’s plans.

As San Juan County, New Mexico Sheriff Shane Ferrari told townhall.com . . .

“The biggest fear of any free society is the government at your door wanting to take away your rights by force. I do not see the men and women of law enforcement sworn to uphold the U.S. Constitution doing this,” Ferrari continued. “In an act of desperation, Mr. O’Rourke is shamefully using tragedies our country has experienced and fear for his political gain. The very foundation of law enforcement is public trust. Frankly, no one should trust a man who talks out of both sides of his mouth.”

And as for actually carrying out O’Rourke’s confiscation fantasy, plenty of local sheriffs want it to be known that they will not comply.

“I’m not sure whether his statements are naive or just plain ignorant and arrogant. Maybe it’s all three,” said Eddy County (Louisiana) Sheriff Mark Cage. “The thought of anyone utilizing my sheriff’s office or any other law enforcement agency in this country as their personal Gestapo to go door to door violating citizen’s rights is disgusting, unrealistic and downright un-American.”

Cage is concerned if any law enforcement agency participates in O’Rourke’s plan on a large scale, “bloodshed would be inevitable,” adding that “some of my constituents are already adopting the mantra of ‘Come take mine Beto!’…His rhetoric has gotten old and I look forward to the day when he shuts up.”

Given Robert Francis’s consistently poor polling numbers, that day is drawing closer all the time.

      SoCalJack,

I can also see many state police agencies participating as well as some federal alphabet agency.

The real question isn’t whether the local Sheriff will assist in a confiscation program. The real question is whether the local Sheriff will assist his/her constituents in RESISTING a confiscation program that some other law enforcement agency attempts to carry out. And with respect to that question, I have not heard of a single Sheriff supporting that position.

    4. avatar tdiinva says:

Just because Gabbard trashed Harris and is in a cat fight with Clinton doesn’t make her a centerist. 6. avatar DrewR55 says:

There are plenty of Law Enforcement Officers that will happily participate in the seizure of private property from law abiding US Citizens, whether in major US cities or even in the heartland. Just look at how the Tulsa PD officers treated Don Spencer (President of OK2A) at this year’s Oktoberfest.

    https://youtu.be/xRXQoHA4Zp8

There are plenty of people who want to see Americans disarmed.

    1. avatar GS650G says:

We’ll see how many gung ho operators there are when it gets noisy.

      1. avatar James Campbell says:

What a retarded response. It’s not the “operators” they need to worry about. The government knows where they are, and how they will respond.
The gov worry lies in the unknown, middle class communities that will not respond well (in THEIR ability of achieving the goal), should home confiscation begin. Example; I live on a dead end street with a lake on the cult-de-sac, there are 7 homes on the street with good visibility between all homes, there are TWO Barrett 50BMGs on this street, with enough ammo to run them for a few days.
Welcome to Texas gun grabbers! Be sure to supply the gun confiscators with jackets that double as body bags Beto, this will save you a logistical step.

        1. avatar Jonathan-Houston says:

Since the original post addressed the glee with which local P.D. would carry out these confiscations, I interpreted the response about gung ho operators to refer to the ranks of police who would actually go kicking down doors, once there the armed resistance begins.

Your response seems to refer to hypothetical “operators” among the citizenry who would be conducting that resistance. I think you both agree, but that you misunderstood both previous posts.

        2. avatar James Campbell says:

I see what you mean. My mistake in interpeting the post I responded to.

    2. avatar Huntmaster says:

So what was then end result of all this?

      1. avatar Green Mtn. Boy says:

End result, the cold war will go hot.

    3. avatar uncommon_sense says:

      DrewR55,

I spoke with a neighbor recently who is a paid (well-paid at that) professional firefighter for a city. He is also former military special forces. (I won’t say which branch or which special forces.) I asked him about the recent confiscation enthusiasm. He was unpleasantly surprised to hear from several law enforcement officers how they would have no reservations enforcing it.

      1. avatar DrewR55 says:

I am not really surprised, there are plenty of people who believe the average & law abiding US Citizen should be disarmed. Likewise, most major metropolitan police have a vested interest in seeing a disarmed populace.

Sure, some will balk at such orders but there are plenty of fools who will strap on tactical gear and kick in doors at two in the morning.

If you have any doubt that this could happen, that police would follow such orders (even just to protect their own necks and pensions) I suggest everyone read “ Ordinary Men : Reserve Police Battalion 101 and the Final Solution in Poland” by Christopher Browning. It is about a bunch of reservist military police who decided it was easier to lead Jews into the forest then take a stand.

Too often people are willing to condone or even participate in atrocities rather then risk speaking.out.

        1. avatar James Campbell says:

Having several good friend that grew up in Poland, I found it interesting that unless two LEOs signed a formal complaint against a citizen, it was simple to get a case thrown out due to corrupt Polish LEO activity in the past.

  7. avatar Scott C. says:

And that’s what plenty of people are saying despite Francis’ claim that people (including law enforcement) will blindly follow any order he gives. Just like the lady from the town hall meeting said: “Hell no, you’re not…”

  10. avatar Chris T in KY says:

A sad reality in America (or perhaps not). There are some people of all races and ethnic groups who are looking forward to shooting cops who violate their civil rights. That is what makes America very different for the rest of the world. And it’s why the socialists are afraid of an armed civilian population.

    1. avatar James Campbell says:

      Reality check.
LEOs took an oath to uphold the Constitution, and perform their duties in a manner respectful to what the Founding Fathers presented in the Bill of Rights and the Federalist Papers. If LEOs want to minimize their chances of getting shot, operate by the guidelines set forth in those docs. It’s all right there in black and white, a virtual road map to minimizing your risk of getting capped in the USA.

      1. avatar James Campbell says:

And stop with the “looking forward to shooting a cop” BS.
I thank God EVERY DAY That I live in a country that allows me a firearm to defend myself and my loved ones. I also pray to that SAME God that he NEVER puts me in a situation where I need to use it.
If you think a significant portion of the public is wanting a reason to shoot LEOs, get psychiatric help, and quite your job if you’re an LEO.

        1. avatar Chris T in KY says:

          Ruby Ridge and Waco.
But the Bundy Ranch was different. This time law abiding civilians organized with their own Arms to resist government tyranny.

And years before, after the Atlanta Olympic Park bombing the population of rural North Carolina totally refused to cooperate with the FBI in their search for the bomber, Eric Rudolph. In fact the civilians used laser pointers to scare agents, making them think they where about to be shot.

Collective NON VIOLENT civilian resistance forced the FBI to leave the area.

Now What if all fours tires on several police cars mysteriously went flat????

          Is anyone really harmed????

        2. avatar James Campbell says:

Ruby Ridge was an ATF set-up from the start. They wanted to put Weaver behind bars (or get dirt on him so he would become a “tool”, AKA, asset) ,and used an informant to pay big dollars to have a shotgun barrel shortened. He should have never shortened the barrel, or resisted when the authorities rolled on the Ridge. But, it’s a classic example of those sworn to uphold the law “starting sh!t”. EVERYONE got to take a BIG bite of the sh!t sandwich on Ruby Ridge. Anyone think the BATFE learned anything at RR? Even with the millions of dollars paid to the Weaver family, they’ll do it again in a New York minute. Sad.

  11. avatar John Galt says:

I always think it is funny when the govt. talks about “buy backs”. Wouldn’t that imply that they – at one time – owned what they are buying back? To my knowledge the govt. has never owned any of my guns, so I guess the idea of mandatory “buy back” would not apply to me…

    1. avatar MyName says:

They actually did own one of mine, back when TR was leading his troops up San Juan Hill. Funny thing thought, they don’t seem to be talking about buying that one back.

      1. avatar MyName says:

        Argh, *though.

      2. avatar Dave G. says:

        Might that be a Krag?

        1. avatar MyName says:

Yup. 1898 K-J armory cut down into a carbine in 1899.

  12. avatar Maxpowers says:

Good for the sheriff…but you still have other groups especially hate groups like antifa that have admitted that one of their reasons for arming up and getting weapons training is to help enforce gun control laws and some site users have talked about this.

    1. avatar LarryinTX says:

If SHTF, that will save us the trouble of hunting them down afterwards. But I doubt it will fly for 5 minutes after the shooting starts. Their whole deal is that they wish to have the *ONLY* guns. If someone shoots back, they’ll show off the bottoms of their tennies, but their guns will have dropped by the wayside. What I’m hinting at is #chickenshit.

    2. avatar Southern Cross says:

But the antifa noobs couldn’t hit a barn from the inside. They only know how to shoot from 1 to 10 yards (execution to drive by distance).

  14. avatar Chuck says:

More and more Sheriffs are stepping up to the plate on the RTKABA, and dashing the O’Dorks and ERPO’s both. It brings to light the real difference between Sheriffs and Police Chiefs as well. Police Chiefs, being “employees” of the municipality will follow mayor and city council orders. Sheriffs, being elected by the citizens, are more likely to protect the citizens over issues such as this. They work for the citizens and want reelection.

  15. avatar rt66paul says:

Why do you think that Obama started police agencies for all of the major alphabet agencies in the federal government? If state/county/city LEO heads won’t do it, they will find a federal agency to do it.

    1. avatar strych9 says:

Obama didnt really start that. Federal agencies have had armed “enforcement” units for a long time.

It accelerated quite a bit in the early 1990’s though thanks to the model created in California to deal with cartels growing marijuana on public land. Forrest Rangers who usually dealt with fishing licenses and hunting tags got the funding and created a tactical team to hit the grows and then undo the ecological damage by dismantling all the gear hiked in and dispose of the pesticides. They teamed up with cops, Sherriffs, DEA etc and a new “law enforcement model” was, not created, but made more popular.

Obama actually made their job harder by making it more difficult to get rid of the cartel guys. They’d get deported and then caught at another grow six weeks later. But that administration didnt change the LE model and, in fact, encouraged it.

One of the Rangers who started the whole thing wrote a book about the start of that whole thing. IIRC it was called “War in the Woods”.

He’s now retired and has another book coming out about how they made gains once the State legalized pot and the growers, who mainly are believers in conservation, got on board, but that the gains are uneven and it’s created problems in other states.

      1. avatar strych9 says:

        *late 1990’s/early 2000’s.

      2. avatar rt66paul says:

That is true, but Obama expanded on it, having police forces inside agencies that should not need them.

        1. avatar strych9 says:

          That is certainly true.

Obama might have been the best gun salesman ever but he was no friend to civil rights in any form.

  16. avatar strych9 says:

I am reminded of the beginning Teethnof the Tiger where it’s noted that if you’re going to kick a tiger in the ass you’d better have a plan to deal with his teeth.

  18. avatar Green Mtn. Boy says:

Just Eff Bobby O’Dourke and his Commie minions.

  19. avatar anarchyst says:

How can they “buy back” something that they never owned in the first place?

    1. avatar James Campbell says:

That’s the best part, they NEVER owned it so they have NO say in the price.
I have set my price of $5,000,000.00 on each AR, $3,000,000.00 on each semi-auto handgun, $500,000.00 on each AR mag, $300,000.00 on each handgun mag.
That should give me over $100,000,000.00, more then enough to buy a private island and set it up to operate on its own. My family and loved one will NOT be in the US if guns are removed from the honest citizens.

      1. avatar Dave G. says:

        @James Campbell:
Yeah, right. If you’re going to dream, dream big.

        1. avatar James Campbell says:

          Hahaha. You better believe it.
Come at me with a HUGE check or LMTFA.

      2. avatar James Campbell says:

Actually, I could NEVER sell my guns to the government, I have a conscience after all, it’s overrun with the biggest criminals in the US.
I doubt most could pass a background check.

    2. avatar Alan says:

Details, Details. Next you will likely inquire as to where the money for this “buy back” will come from, possibly making so bold as to question who it might be that would determine the value, aka the purchase price of the “bought back items”. Ghe proposition grows ever more interesting, doesn’t it.

      1. avatar strych9 says:

Imagine people’s dismay when they realize that it’s their own tax money being used to underpay them for something.

Nice how a “buy back” uses your money to punish you twice by taking away your property and making you pay for it twice.

    1. avatar LarryinTX says:

They will have left the country in disguise long before they have lost 50% dead and wounded. And they are outnumbered hundreds to one.

  21. avatar gunowner1947 says:

To some degree we are all outraged by Beto’s position. The thought of the government just taking something we paid good hard earned money for sets us all on fire. But just as with imminent domain, if the government does come for our guns, most of us will follow the law. We are a law abiding nation for the most part. And, yes all these sheriffs posturing for their local voters will fall in line. What is their choice, as with any unfunded mandate passed to the state and local governments? If Beto, or any other president, either uses an executive order or gets a law passed whereby all LEOs who do not comply must return all the military hardware passed on to them by the Federal government, we all know that compliance will come quickly. None of these departments are going to give up their M-16s, armored vests, armored vehicles or any other equipment that was given but can be recalled by the Federal government.

Instead of posturing and blowing hot air, we gun owners must decide what changes to gun ownership we are willing to accept in order to personal defense and hunting firearms. I do not own an AR-15 or any other form of what the anti gun people term an assault weapon, I will dig in and fight to the last breath to keep my shotguns, true hunting rifles, target guns and pistols. Others will undoubtedly draw the line at not giving up their assault type weapons. That is their choice, and remember we all are entitled to a choice and our choice should not subject us to ridicule and attack because we will not draw our line further out.

    1. avatar MyName says:

I think many gun owners have already decided that the changes they are willing to accept are “not one more inch.” Very generous of you to propose that other people give up what they own just as long as no one tries to infringe upon you.

      1. avatar Byron says:

        I am one.

      2. avatar James Campbell says:

That right, not one more inch. In fact, it’s time to remove firearm restrictions for sane and honest citizens, and increase penalties on those who violate laws like felon in possession, murder, mass shootings, drive bys…….

    2. avatar Merle 0 says:

Actually we’re not a law abiding nation. America is a rebellious nation and has been so since its founding. People always wonder why our crime rates are so high compared to Canada or Germany or whichever, and there’s many reasons, but one of the biggest is we are a nation of rebels. Not only from the founding, to the civil war, to the frontier, but look at what Americans do every single time something is our lawed. Prohibition was a spectacular failure and hardly anyone including LE respected the law. The drug laws in this country are a joke. Speeding laws are routinely violated by literally everyone. Anytime there’s a threat of a gun ban Americans of all walks of life start to horde them. You can sit idly by while ARs are confiscated if you want, but if they somehow manage to win, afterwards they will be coming for your hunting shotgun. And there won’t be anyone left to stand by your side.

    3. avatar TommyGNR says:

Speak for yourself Elmer. Don’t use the term “we gun owners”. You aren’t talking for me.

    6. avatar Geoff "I'm getting too old for this shit" PR says:

“…we gun owners must decide what changes to gun ownership we are willing to accept in order to personal defense and hunting firearms.”

What’s this “we” shit, 1947? With that statement, you proved yourself to not be one of us.

As for the “changes we are willing to accept”, the changes will all be on their end. They need to accept that “the right to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” means exactly what the fvck it says…

    7. avatar Someone says:

“…we gun owners must decide what changes to gun ownership we are willing to accept in order to personal defense and hunting firearms.”

I did just that and decided that we passed the ‘acceptable changes’ point long time ago. I’m all done ‘compromising’. And I want my cake back!

The 2A has nothing to do with personal defense or hunting.
The Left wants us disarmed so we can’t oppose the socialist nightmare they want to introduce. That is why they go after weapons most usefull in service in militia, the semiautomatic rifles, first. Fight with so called “gun crime” is only a convenient pretext. Rifles are used in only 1% of murders anyways, how can someone still believe the leftist gun grabbing propaganda is beyond my comprehension.

  22. avatar GEORGE BILL says:

We don’t have to worry about Beto, with his numbers, every candidate would have to drop dead before he could become dog catcher. I really don’t think the country has enough money to buy back our guns even if we agreed, which no one will. They can’t even pay for existing programs, and Trump has this one in the bag unless they try to take him out, which would not bode well for them at all, Just saying, there would be a civil war, I do believe that it could happen with the instability we have right now.
I am 71 yrs young, and have carried for 46 years in 2 states, my gun has saved my life on 2 or more occasions, one was a home invasion with 5 perps. No one is taking away my life saving device which is what stands between me and all evil that may try to enter my home where my loved ones sleep, and my 4 granddaughters visit it just ain’t happening I have had a good life, I hope to keep it that way, but certain things are worth laying your life on the line for, my right to live and protect my family from evil is the biggest single thing I can think of that directly affects me and mine.
There are those out there who will always test our resolve as free men, I am not going to quote any of the many historians and great Americans who have addressed this topic again and again, but once in a decade or two so, something really big comes along and we have to remind ourselves who we are as a people, perhaps this is one of those times.
I stand with the Constitution of The United States of America. I have 5 uncles and a father who fought in 3 wars to defend it, and if still alive they would do it again, so screw these maggots who pretend to be men they are spineless cowards who would prefer to convert to a form of Socialism, the very thing we fought and died to protect.
I think clowns like Saunders, who is an outright Socialist should be stripped of his wealth and kicked out of the Country and take Warren and the rest with him.

    1. avatar MyName says:

No one is particularly concerned about Beto himself. The more significant issue is his shifting of the Overton window vis-a-vis gun control. As recently as a few months ago, the standard party line was, “No one is talking about taking your guns.” Now, Beto and the democrats have blown right through that roadblock and are saying, “Hell yes we are going to take your guns.” I think, given that his poll numbers are dismal, his sole function as far as the party apparatus is concerned is to be a lead blocker out there to see just how much yardage they can gain in respect to support for confiscation. He is not, and won’t be, the actual ball carrier.

      1. avatar LarryinTX says:

The result will not be known until Jan 2021.

      2. avatar uncommon_sense says:

        MyName,

      1. avatar uncommon_sense says:

        Byron,

What do you hear? That your law enforcement contacts have no desire to enforce federal immigration laws? Or that your law enforcement contacts will enforce confiscation without any moral reservations?

    2. avatar TommyGNR says:

Yeah this is one I have been wondering for a while. Why don’t the so called “news anchors” ask Beta Male if he thinks is wrong for municipalities to ignore immigration laws?

    3. avatar Merle 0 says:

      Huh? We just did.

  24. avatar Gideon Rockwell says:

This scenario is beginning to remind me of a Book series written by Wm.W.Johnstone, The Ashes Series. He began writing it in the 1980s and over the years I have come to believe the man was almost like a modern Nostradamus. Many of the things he wrote of began to actually unfold with Bill Clinton, but since Obama they have accelerated. Such as the lunacy of the left, their almost insane full throttle plunge into unabashed Marxism, the take over of our economy, trying to be all things to all people, and total gun control. Everything in the Ashes Series is beginning to unfold almost. The one thing that will happen if a lunatic Congress and President pass gun confiscation is it will show who the true Patriotic Law Officers are and who the Bully Boys are. The Officers loyal to the people, the nation and their oath will throw down their badges and go home, the Bully Boys will go about their duties with a sadistic fervor. Good honest citizens will die and this will be the beginning of a national resistance. This will lead to a Civil War with no clear defined lines this time. It will be the American Bolshevik Marxist Left against the Representative Republic Bill of Rights Supporting Right.

    1. avatar Huntmaster says:

If we ever get to that point, North Korea will go into South Korea, China will take of the gloves with Hong Kong and invade Taiwan, Russia will invade eastern Europe, Pakistan and India will explode, and the entire middle east will invade Israel. A civil war here is the end of civilization.

      1. avatar LarryinTX says:

Depending on how it is started, it quite likely will be all over except the firing squads before the rest of the world even gets confirmation that it is happening.

      2. avatar Merle 0 says:

It’s quite an interesting topic in and of itself, how much America’s global influence is keeping 4 massive wars from breaking out. Wether it be civil war or a return to isolationism by a war weary public, it’s quite an interesting thought experiment. As soon as America is out of the picture, the Baltic’s and Taiwan will be the first to go. Russia will certainly go farther. The rest of Ukraine, Belarus will likely willfully join. China will go all out, I would be willing to bet they’d even invade japan. India/Pakistan And Israel/Middle East will certainly go nuclear. Western Europe has literally no strength these days and I wonder if a Russia would push all the way to the channel. They certainly could if they wanted too.

        1. avatar Southern Cross says:

Easy way to stop the Russians. Stockpile booze in their line of advance.

Klamath Falls Herald and News: Sunday, October 21, 2019/Letters To The Editor

LGBTQ agenda is greatest threat to religious liberty

“People often say with pride, ‘I’m not interested in politics.’ They might as well say ‘I’m not interested in my standard of living, my health, my job, my rights, my freedoms, my future, or any future.’ Or if we mean to keep control over our world and our lives, we must be interested in politics.”

    — Martha Gellhorn, journalist, novelist, wife of Ernest Hemingway

I read with total disgust and revulsion, “Beto O’Rourke’s bad idea to punish conservative churches,” in the Oct. 12 Herald and News. Perhaps Franklin Graham timely says in the October 2019 Decision Magazine: “Perhaps the greatest threat to our religious liberty now comes from the frenzied LGBTQ agenda. The media elite and political progressive have joined together to advance and promote this immoral unhealthy lifestyle as normal and acceptable. I for one am sick and tired of these godless politicians trying to cram this down our throats. I hope every Christian will go to the ballot box in this next election and stand against what is a godless, socialist agenda.”

I thus stand in 100% pro-solidarity with Graham’s statement. Isn’t it also ironic, treasonous left-wing socialists in both Houses of Congress, and our state legislatures, remain sworn anti-gun enemies against our Constitution, private gun ownership, the NRA, and firearms-related freedom and personal autonomy. Yet these same cretins remain hell-bent on legitimizing sodomy. As the Bible states in Leviticus 18:22, “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination!” It seems the LGBTQ agenda aim is to “destroy male masculinity and to neuter straight heterosexual men in America! Not to mention recruiting our children!” The recent Gay Pride Parade (or dare I say “Shame Parade”) in Ashland , Oregonis a blatant “get in your face” example.

In conclusion, I endorse “The Case Against Homosexual Activity” courtesy of H.O.M.E at http://www.home60515.com.

    1. avatar Southern Cross says:

As much as I find religious fundamentalists of any type abhorrent, I do find it funny as the left promotes itself as tolerant of alternative lifestyles. In reality the Soviet Union was culturally very conservative, even more so than the West at the same time.

  26. avatar L. Shamus McQuade says:

O Rourke typifis the modern American MALE in this country. There are SOME REAL men that are left but they are an exception than the rule..where do people think these politicians come from? They don’t fall out of the sky. They don’t pass through a membrane from another reality. They come from American parents and American families, American homes, American schools, American churches, American businesses and American universities, and they are elected by American citizens. This is the best we can do folks. This is what we have to offer. It’s what our system produces: Garbage in, garbage out. If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, you’re going to get selfish, ignorant leaders. Term limits ain’t going to do any good; you’re just going to end up with a brand new bunch of selfish, ignorant Americans. So, maybe, maybe, maybe, it’s not the politicians who suck. Maybe something else sucks around here…like the majority of the country who continues to support, follow and vote for people JUST LIKE THIS ONE….They throw anything against the wall to see if it will stick for votes, they say anything for votes they would even wipe the A$$ with the American flag if it meant getting to be President……

  27. avatar The Last Conservative Californian says:

Only the police who do not believe in the ultimate law in the United States, the Constitution and the God given right to self defense will knock down doors. Our rights are not given to us by some Jackass like “Beto” we get our rights from God, and “Beto” cannot take those rights away from us.

The new Democratic party is the new National Socialist party. Look at Antifa and “Beto” they want us to be sheep led to the slaughter and like it. They corrupt and pervert the Constitution to mean whatever they feel like and expect us to shut up and stay quiet.

  28. avatar James12 says:

  30. avatar MIO says:

It will be as messy and violent as the confiscation and giving up of the bumpstocks!
    oh wait…..
hmm maybe that’s why he feels empowered

    1. avatar LarryinTX says:

What percentage of bumpstocks sold were surrendered, genius? Or, maybe, how many were sold? Passing unenforceable rules or laws is meaningless, pointing at them, pretending they mean something, is idiotic.

  31. avatar Prndll says:

Everyone seems to quite loudly proclaim that Trump is not a gun guy and how much the gun community is so hurt by him that a vote for him should be seen as anti-gun.

Take a real good look at the reality of just what it is that is actually happening here! Mr. O’Rourke and the rest of his fellow dems would not be so bold as to so publicly say what they do had it not been for how crazy Trump is forcing them to reveal about themselves. One of the more obvious aspects of the trump admin. is that he makes his opponents shoot themselves in the foot. I think this is a great strategy. The left is off the rails lunatics. Many of them should be on meds under the care of doctors. We (indeed the world) all see this. Atleast if your eyes are open.

The end result in the gun world is that gun sales are increasing and the numbers of licenses (to own and to carry) are increasing. He’s making the anti-gun left create a more armed America. Much like Obama did. But he’s doing it by making fools out of the left. O’Rourke would never have said that in a run against Obama. Wether he feels that way or not. He would not have said it in a run against Clinton if she were president. NOT for a sense of not needing to. But for not being so imboldenly off the rails crazy.

Trump does not have to be a ‘gun-guy’ to help the gun community. I’m not happy at all with what happen in the bump-stock debockle. But I do consider having more good guys with guns being licensed to carry and buy more guns to be an equitable trade (a fair deal). Especially given that so few people ever used bump stocks int he first place.

I do not believe Trump is purposely doing any of this (claims of 4D chess). I believe it’s more about the mental instability that already exists within the left that just cannot handle dealing with someone like Trump. Someone that I truly believe wants to improve, make great, and keep great the USA. Someone that knows if the US gets better…he gets better by default.

  32. avatar Darkman says:

Although I believe confiscation legislation has little chance of passage. I also believe if it is passed and enforced it will result in the deaths of unjust government created felon citizens as well as LEO’s and the Politicians involved in the action of usurping the Constitution. Both LEO’s and elected Politicians take a similar Oath to Support and Defend the Constitution against all threats both Foreign and Domestic. If one chooses to dishonor that Oath. I believe death is a justifiable punishment. As much as I support LEO’s at every opportunity. That support ends when they choose to usurp my Right of Self Protection. Based on the Nullification of any Amendment of the Bill of Rights. Everyone must choose their own line in the sand. Mine is clearly drawn with no regrets. Keep Your Powder Dry.

  33. avatar Dale Menard says:

Mr. O’Rourke, you say that you want the laws enforced, does that include against illegal immigrants too?

If these guns cause murder why were only 297 people killed with rifles of all types in 2018?

Why is this an epidemic when tens of thousands die from opiods, alcohol, and “medical misadventures”?

  34. avatar Hannibal says:

Sure, but the idea of a door-to-door confiscation in the US is laughably impractical. They would just make it illegal and that’s enough to do a lot. Not to stop crime, mind you, but to stop otherwise lawful people from going to gun ranges, public gun groups, etc. And they snag the ones who get unlucky. They know they can’t actually control all the guns but they can control a lot of the people because most people don’t want to risk going to prison.

    Except criminals.

“I do not see the men and women of law enforcement sworn to uphold the U.S. Constitution doing this”

I do. It’s already been done over 2,500 times in Florida alone.

    1. avatar Leighton Cavendish says:

But not door to door for virtually every gun owner…that’s when people start to die…on both sides.

  38. avatar American Patriot says:

Why are you guys giving this POS any face time at all? He will never make the cut & if he did the majority of sheriff’s would not go door to door. I know mine wouldn’t!!! But I would really love to see them Start doing it in places like Chicago, Baltimore, East L.A., Detroit, Filthadelphia……You know all the Non-Diversity places……!

    1. avatar Southern Cross says:

Couldn’t the sheriffs just deputize all adults in the town? Problem solved.

      1. avatar LarryinTX says:

Don’t need everybody in town, just a couple of good ones will do fine. “Hey, Boss, I checked the east side, all clear!” “Yeah, and I checked the west side, we’re all done. Some guy claimed we hadn’t checked right, but he collapsed and died before we could figure what he was talking about. Can’t be too important.”

  39. avatar Chris says:

My theory about the CNN interview with the woman (whose name I’ve forgotten): The DNC is turning on him because he’s saying more than he should. Also, he only has a 2% chance of winning and he is not helping their cause.

  40. avatar Will Drider says:

O’Rourke replied. “So you know, in that case I think there would be a visit by law enforcement to recover that firearm and to make sure that it is purchased, bought back so that it cannot be potentially used against somebody else.”

So in beto Plan: Violators will be “visited by LE who wll confiscate it, leave a monetary token payment in full”. He did not say who these guns were used against but there must be someone because he doesn’t “potentially want them used against somebody else.”
Is he talking about a second gun confiscation Squad coming to our homes?
Once again, dickhead beto infers all AW owners are killers!

  41. avatar enuf says:

O’Rourke is an idiot trying desperately to be relevant and earning money to live on. As in campaign contributions paying his way. This door-to-door gun confiscation thing is his shtick, his act, his con job. to keep the dollars coming in from the few, the delusional, the conned, the faithful.

Were such laws ever to be passed it would be a massive mess, and a violent one. No telling what percentage of police leadership around the country would obey or refuse to do so. Same goes for the rank and file. Same goes for the US military were they to be dragged into it.

No way that shit is going to happen.

  42. avatar Leighton Cavendish says:

Don’t want them to help enforce federal immigration laws…why should they help with federal gun laws?
    Makes perfect sense to me.

  43. avatar mac says:

Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke: Not black, not female, not homosexual, not really Hispanic – like fellow Texan Julian Castro. What are his chances in the acutely identity-conscious Democrat (i.e., Marxist) Party? I think the answer, as the saying goes, is slim and none..and slim just went out the door.

  44. avatar Joe says:

    Molon labe, cocksucker.

  45. avatar Gray Man says:

Local and State Law Enforcement do not enforce federal laws at all. The only exception is where a local or state law enforcement officer is a TFO assigned to a federal task force. This is how states like Colorado get around the federal drug laws, it must have corresponding state law.

So, even if congress outlaws firearms there is no obligation for states to comply.

  46. avatar JUST HARD FACTS says:

Listen up! They have a better plan.

When the Dems win & they will some day… they will pass many gun laws & just declare gun owners who fail to register their guns racist neo nazi hate groups and take them out 1 bunch @ a time so the America public signs off on this as a good thing. The Media will help them just like now!

Breaking News: Swat takes down white supremacist group with arsenal of illegal firearms in ABC City and State!

  47. avatar SWAMPFOX says:

Some LE believe disarming the public will make them safer. This is a myth.
In actuality the next step will be for them to turn their guns in at the station when the go home, if they aren’t completely disarmed like the UK bobbies. Then they will have to wear stab proof vests like police in the UK.

The reality is police who enforce any unconstitutional gun laws – confiscation, no due process red flag, bump-stock ban, etc, are all just what the communists call “stupid useful people”.
It will end with their freedom lost also.

    Wake Up!

  48. avatar Jlaw says:

To my brothers and sisters across the nation if this gun grab occurs it will cause the second civil war….and it wont be north verses south. It will be all the Patriots of this country against a unconstitutional regime whos brain washed a army to fight for them..i hope that doesnt happen.. It will be a mess because theres no giving up our guns.
