From the CCRKBA:

A Wednesday report in the Seattle Times offers more proof that restrictions placed on law-abiding Washington State gun owners, plus a tax on gun and ammunition sales in Seattle, have dramatically failed to reduce violent crime as promised, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said.

In 2014, the Seattle-based Alliance for Gun Responsibility, a gun prohibition lobbying group largely funded by wealthy Seattle-area elitists, pushed through Initiative 594, a so-called “universal background check” measure that was supposed to keep guns out of the wrong hands.

In 2015, the Seattle City Council pushed through the gun tax that has never come close to its revenue forecast. In 2018, the gun ban lobby rammed through Initiative 1639, which prohibits young adults from purchasing any kind of semiautomatic rifle and requires an “enhanced” background check and 10-day waiting period, plus proof of training.

“All of these restrictive gun control measures have only penalized law-abiding citizens,” noted CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “All three have failed miserably, and the time has come for the gun ban lobby to admit it and allow each of these bogus crime fighting tools to be repealed. Indeed, gun prohibitionists should fold their tents and go home in shame, because their anti-violence ‘remedies’ have proven to be nothing more than snake oil.”

This week, Seattle reportedly matched its 2019 homicide total. With four months remaining in the year, the body count for the city, and likely the rest of the state, will only go up. Law-abiding gun owners are not the problem, and restrictive gun control laws are not the solution, CCRKBA said.

“The gun prohibition lobby should apologize to Washington gun owners,” Gottlieb said. “Not only has the Alliance for Gun Responsibility pushed to disarm honest citizens, it also sides with violent protesters who want to defund police, and whose occupation of a Seattle neighborhood earlier this summer resulted in four non-fatal shootings and two homicides where the victims were both black teens.

“When all of these laws were proposed,” he recalled, “we predicted they wouldn’t work, an we’ve been proven right. Homicides have crept upwards over all of Washington state during the past few years. The billionaire-backed crusade against gun owners and their rights has been an unmitigated disaster. They’ve given people a false sense of security while trampling on their rights.

“How many more must die before the anti-gun right extremists admit they’ve been wrong?”

With more than 650,000 members and supporters nationwide, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (www.ccrkba.org) is one of the nation’s premier gun rights organizations. As a non-profit organization, the Citizens Committee is dedicated to preserving firearms freedoms through active lobbying of elected officials and facilitating grass-roots organization of gun rights activists in local communities throughout the United States.

  1. Let’s see, make it next to impossible for normal people to get a gun, allow violent rioting anarchists to run rampant! What could possibly go wrong!?

    • Prohibitionists will justify themselves with the following statements:

      1) without their enlightened progressive laws the toll would have been much worse.

      2) you can’t progress without those lost to the cause.

      3) it will get better in the future. Please think of the children.

      4) here’s a cute animal picture.

  2. Since there are no Seattle city positions up for election this year. You can expect the current situation to at the very least continue and most likely get much worse. Votes Matter and You get what You Vote for.

    • There are at least two members of the city council facing recall petitions making the rounds right now in Seattle. Earliest possible special election is February 2021. But those elections will be rigged, just like the last one.

      • Sounds like they are going to dismiss the CHOP involved businesses trying to sue for the city for inaction/negligence.

  3. Its allways funny that some of those shootings took place in the CHAZ/CHOP a place for POC that was more dangerous and killed more POC than the cops did all year!

    • So says Cami the Commie Hairyazz, doesnt matter what comes out of Joe Braindead’s mouth as he won’t last 6 months.

    • Hell, they had a felon , rapper “warlord” handing out guns from the trunk of his Tesla – no background checks, no training, no nuthin. And they refused to arrest and prosecute him.

  4. Gun control doesn’t work? Horse pucky, It works exactly the way that the gungrabbers want it to work — gangs rule the streets, the politicians rule the gangs. And if the street gangs can’t keep decent people under control, there’s always the Crushers. The “good cops” head for the hills, while the political tools do the politicians’ bidding.

  5. “Seattle’s Rising Body Count Shows – Again – That Gun Control Doesn’t Work”

Unless one is a braindead Leftard,as they reside in a fairytale world where down is up and up is down.

    • That variable is also something being pushed by the average American hating leftists. More deaths in their world equals more reasons to push “gun control” which justifies more laws against gun ownership. Only the law abiding follow the rules and so the middle class lawful citizen is disarmed. Kulaks must be eliminated you know. They will never say a word to the radicals who are on their team that ignore the laws. Ultimately it’s about control.

      • You’re not wrong about who is pushing the variables but I do not think it is some grand conspiracy to try and justify gun control. If so, it’s a really stupid conspiracy- because it’s doing the opposite in practical terms.

      • A good quote from a bad person:

“When the revolution is over, who needs revolutionaries?”

        Allegedly attributed to Heinrich Himmler.

    • But they don’t report that. When it’s reported, it’s downplayed or spun. Instead, they push the narrative that it’s the people in red areas that are immoral simply because they aren’t democrats. They’re non-believers, Nazis, racists, rubes. Hillary used the basket of deplorables phrase because she knew it would be a hit with her crowd. They have to push emotion and false narratives over logic and reality in order to get votes.

WaPo Tried to Fact-Check Trump on Who Runs the Dangerous Cities… and Failed Miserably

    • These domestic street terrorism actions are happening in Blue cities……their training grounds. They are protected by the Lefty politicians as they train, practice, develop techniques. These are initial probing, de-sensitization actions. Don’t feel left out. Get your lawn chairs set up and popcorn popped. These terrorists will be coming in earnest to a street in front of your Red city homes and businesses post-election. Trump wins, to oust him. Biden wins, to begin implementing the Socialist terrorism policies of the Left. You’ve got enough guns. Ammo up. It’s going to be a TRE.

  6. I just moved out of Seattle. WA is right on the edge of losing significant 2A rights. The only reason we didn’t have a magazine ban this year was because of the short legislative session and a few freedom loving state representatives who proposed so many amendments the bill could never pass in time. 70% of residents in my district voted for radical progressive politicians in lockstep. Meanwhile my former neighborhood has been destroyed by weekly protests.

    • And this is why Eastern WA wants to separate and form its own state. Probably it’s doomed to failure…despite polling at 70% support, there’s very little anyone is willing to DO about it…but some of us are trying.

The Puget Sound progtard dominion and the state east of the Cascades are like two different countries.

  7. The violence-prone and the criminally minded do not care, are not interested. They do as they will no matter the laws.

Only the common person, the decent and the law abiding worries about obeying the law.The very people least likely to do violence, they are the obeyers of this foolishness.

The violators, they have all the weapons they desire and use them on a whim.

    • Breaking the law might make you a felon, a felon can’t have gunms, better not break the law so we can have a gunm, then when we use it to protect ourself we become a felon and can’t have a gunm. That’s why We have laws

    • 1) Something’s got to give….2) something’s got to give….3) something’s got to give now;
Let the bodies hit the floor!

    • Wait….let me get his straight. You mean there are people who will break the law? Well, I dee-Clare!! Who ‘da thunk?

  8. “…restrictions placed on law-abiding Washington State gun owners, plus a tax on gun and ammunition sales in Seattle, have dramatically failed to reduce violent crime as promised.”

This may be tinfoil-hat territory, but I question whether the actual intent of the gun/ammo tax was ever really to reduce violent crime or even raise funds. Cynical guy that I am, I tend to think the measure was passed knowing full well it wouldn’t raise the sums promised, but it *would* hurt local gun businesses in Seattle, and add another barrier to access for gun owners – i.e. the proverbial “Death by a thousand cuts.”

  9. They will never admit failure because they are not failing, the intent is never to reduce gun crimes, it is to produce an unarmed populace dependant on the State for protection, food and housing.

  10. All you need to know is that the official spokesman for the Seattle Times ( and much of liberal Seattle), Danny Westneat, covered this issue and was completely confused as to why it is happening. If you write about violence in Seattle and don’t mention gangs or the homeless, you are: a. stupid, b. ignorant, c. willfully deceitful. Pick one or all three. So, nothing will get better.
