Thinking back on the recent mass shootings in Gilroy, El Paso, Dayton, and Odessa, much has been learned about the shooters. They’re the usual agglomeration of basement-dwelling criminals and losers who mostly existed online and ranted against everything from religion and immigrants to right wing politics, most of whom had demonstrated histories of threats, depression and various violent acts. Some had brushes with the law.

And yet in all of the post-shooting accounts of who these broken failures were, none of them have ever been revealed to have been National Rifle Association members.

That detail doesn’t seem to matter to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, though.

From The Hill . . .

San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors has passed a resolution declaring the National Rifle Association (NRA) a “domestic terrorist organization” following the shooting in Gilroy, Calif., where four people, including the gunman, were killed.

The resolution, which local Fox affiliate KTVU reported passed on Tuesday, declares the gun rights group to be a terrorist organization and calls on other cities and government entities to make similar declarations. The resolution itself has no legal weight.

The Supervisors apparently made the effort to step over garbage, used needles, and human feces in order to make their way to city hall and let the world know that they’re outraged by the existence of five million lawful gun owners.

The legislation’s author, District 2 Supervisor Catherine Stefani, told KTVU that the organization “has it coming,” blaming the group for “doing nothing” in the wake of the mass shootings in Dayton, Ohio, and El Paso, Texas, on the same weekend in August, and other subsequent attacks.

The NRA tweeted in response . . .

  1. Sounds like a great class action lawsuit against the municipality of San Francisco, for defamation of 5 million + law-abiding members.. call or email the NRA Immediately and demand legal action!! They will settle or go broke!!

  2. That is their problem because Frisco is becoming the a–hole of the U.S., LITERALLY. Anything NRA will just leave the city but maybe only after there is a march through town.

    • Funny thing about SF. I had to move there for work about 10 years ago. I lasted 2 years.

The IDEA of a place, or the feeling you get when visiting on holiday is TOTALLY FREAKIN’ DIFFERENT from actually living there.

I had to step over human poo in front of the opera house. Really. And that was 8 years ago. Much worse now my still-in-SF friends tell me.

Every place has its drawbacks, but SF seems to have hit the turbo nitro injector switch while heading for a really big and thick wall.

  3. Like the NRA (or anyone with a gun (except Diane)) was welcome before this so brave declaration.

Can you imagine a reboot of “The Streets of San Francisco” now?

Mike: There goes that bank robber!

Steve: I got ‘em! [Slips on $hit] Damn!

  4. It should come as no surprise to anyone that California would declare the NRA a domestic terrorist organization. They look the other way when ANTIFA is destroying cars and buildings. they look the other way when ANTIFA is whacking people over the head with various objects and throwing bottles and bags of body fluids and fecal matter at people. It boggles my mind that this is somehow accepted behavior anywhere in the country. A whole lot of their elected reps have made open threats towards anyone who works in the Trump Administration. And some of what I’ve seen in social media from those very same reps would land an everyday citizen (like me) in trouble with law enforcement. I miss the old days a lot. you know, when we disagreed with each other politically or on other issues, we could could have a heated conversation and then buy each other a cold one. Very sad to witness how things have changed over the last several years.
Everyone is fully entitled to their opinion. That’s the beauty of this country. However, unless I missed something, no one is entitled to openly threaten folks, physically attack folks, or damage other people’s property at will. Come on American’s, let’s get our stuff together and talk this stuff out with civility and respect for one another. I have faith that we can get back to that point, I really do.

    • Clarification…the article says it’s only the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. That group of numbnuts doesn’t represent all the other cities, counties, rural municipalities, Sheriffs, etc. all over the rest of the state. A few others such as Los Angeles might be dumb enough to parrot the same sentiment, but don’t think for a moment that SF represents “California”.

      • Oh, but San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sacramento, and San Diego are clearly California now, and they continue to vote for the folks like those on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. As long as the Democrats are in power, (and they are in absolute power in this state), there will be this kind of sputtering nonsense coming out of the various political entities here, and there is nothing that any conservative or moderate can do about it. The only answer is to vote, and to vote for those that are not so clearly intellectually challenged! I don’t expect that to happen since many of the voters in this state are either dead or ignorant, but one can always hope I suppose. My choice will be to leave the state like all of the rest of the ‘normal’ folks that I know have already done where they could. I haven’t quite gotten there yet, but I will.

    • “…throwing bottles and bags of body fluids and fecal matter at people. It boggles my mind that this is somehow accepted behavior anywhere in the country.”

They proudly tell us what starts in California will spread to the rest of the nation. If that’s truly the case, the ‘Tree of Liberty’ is in California…

    • They also look the other way when an illegal alien rapes and/or kills a beautiful young US citizen, especially if she is white. Didn’t they just dismiss the carrying an unauthorized weapon and murder conviction for Mr, Sanchez?????? California needs to be thrown out of the union and everybody who screwed the state up and left to screw up another state ought to be deported back there and a wall built to keep them out.

      • The Progressive’s plan is to correct a historical wrong by returning California, New Mexico, and Texas to their former rightful owners. But the laws have to be aligned with those of their “new” owners.

I won’t say the Mexican government at all levels is rife with corruption, nepotism, and cronyism, but it the best money can buy at a discount rate.

        • As far as I’m concerned, Mexico is welcome to have CA. I’m sure they’ll make if even more profitable and free.

  5. Yeah…. a board of supervisors that can’t keep human waste off the streets calling the NRA a terror organization. How they can state this with a straight face defies imagination.

    • How can they say this? Easy! First you toss out the first amendment (freedom of association, meh), then declare away!

Are you a MEMBER of this terrorist organization? Whoa now, where did I put that red flag law?

      Easy peasy.

  6. The left feels that the destruction of the 1st and 2nd amendments are well ahead of schedule and they can start in on the rest. Your freedom of association is down the tubes and you will be testifying against yourself in court very soon now…

  7. Can we roll in the troops now? This “government” is clearly in open rebellion against the Constitution of the United States. Seems like the exact problem that city busters were built for.

    • As stupid as the Board’s declaration is, it isn’t a violation of the Constitution. Save that comment for when we’re talking about bona fide violations so it isn’t watered down beforehand from misapplication.

        • Ok…

          1. To call something a terrorist organization you have to link it to an act of terrorism proven in court. No such link exists. I’d have an easier time linking the entire DNC to terrorism than the NRA. Hence, 5th and 14th amendment issues.
          2. Declaring an organization a terrorist group without any legal basis has a chilling affect on the free exercise of association and speech. Hence massive 1st amendment issues.

Again. I’d have an easier time defending calling the DNC a terrorist group in court. Given that AOC is fundraising for actual terrorists (aka the Boston ANTIFA who got arrested for politically motivated violence and attacks on police officers) I can readily link the entire DNC to ANTIFA through her and to terrorism through ANTIFA.

        • All they’ve really done is agree to say something really stupid together in public and make it part of the city’s legal records.

Not that these people aren’t dangerous, because they’re also up to far worse than simply saying stupid things in the public record — but let’s also be clear about what it is they’ve actually done here.

        • Legally irrelevant. At the very least it’s defamation. When carried out by a government body, it raises constitutional issues.

    • “Seems like the exact problem that city busters were built for.”

Nice idea, but the survivors will be pouring out of the radioactive remains of San Fran and will infest the countryside and the good people in rural parts (like Mark N) will find tents in his back yard (that is covered with feces)…

    • Woulddn’t be the first time troops were rolled out to protect us from the democrats, remember the sixties and all the democrat govonors who wanted to put the blacks in cages or keep them out of white collegges or hand them for messing around with white women. Kind of like Beto courting the Hispanic vote when he helped throw poor Hispanics out of their house so he and his daddy in law could make millions. Dem dems are ock ucking liars.

  8. It goes back to the 0bama administration and their proposed definition of a domestic terrorist, which was basically every gun owner in America. This should be taken with a grain of salt from the literal poo sandwich that is San Francisco. These are the same people who are getting ready to sandblast George Washington from a mural. I am surprised that they haven’t changed the name of the city, because it’s too Catholic, too European, and too colonial.

  9. How would the board of supervisors react if a huge group of voters declared the board as an organized crime organization? The voters could claim that board uses armed law enforcement and/or the legal system as its enforcers.

    • 18 USC 241 Conspiracy against rights

If two or more persons conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same; or

If two or more persons go in disguise on the highway, or on the premises of another, with intent to prevent or hinder his free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege so secured—

They shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, they shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.

      • Since the group are acting under the authority of a government the following law below also applies

18 U.S. Code 242. Deprivation of rights under color of law

Whoever, under color of any law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom, willfully subjects any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or to different punishments, pains, or penalties, on account of such person being an alien, or by reason of his color, or race, than are prescribed for the punishment of citizens, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if bodily injury results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include the use, attempted use, or threatened use of a dangerous weapon, explosives, or fire, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.

  10. As Rush pointed out today, if the NRA is a terrorist organization, then anyone who’s a member is a defacto terrorist. And so it follows that ‘red flagging’ them to confiscate their guns becomes a given.

    • I doubt the current batch is thinking that far ahead, but I have little doubt one of their successors will put it together.

      This needs pushback.

  11. The reason that democrat politicians have become unhinged jokes is because they know that there won’t be a push back from an honest, non-agenda driven media (90% of it anyway.)

  12. Note that this carries zero enforcement or legal weight. Just the usual leftist virtue signaling. Of coarse this will cause extreme fervor on the left.

    • It may not carry any legal weight, but it sure cranks up the heat under our cultural cold war another notch. Just wait and watch other leftist pieces of paradise pass similar resolutions.

Dehumanization of gun owners is a necessary step before more “commonsense measures” can be passed that will have legal weight and enforcement.

      I am NRA. I’m not a terrorist.

  13. Since California has “Red Flag” laws, can San Francisco NRA members now expect the police to come knocking at their door to confiscate their guns?

These fascist pigs will define anyone to the right of Lenin as a “domestic terrorist”.

  14. To all NRA members that didn’t/couldn’t serve . . . welcome to the club! About 10 years ago, the Obama DHS declared that all vets were potential domestic terrorists. This boost in numbers will be nice when “the time” comes!

    • The NRA would have to bring a Million and One Dollar to get One Dollar back – these life experts have managed to kill the largest economy in the country with drugs, crappy movies and being so fucked up that they cannot tell if they are boy or girl and when find out that they are boys, still fuck other boys.

How do you seriously expect any value coming from such a state?

      • Well said my friend. They harbor Illegals, criminals, and want to declare all LEGAL gun owners as terrorists. Do none of these idiots have any common sense?
I am far from being the sharpest tool in the shed, but I am not the broken shovel.
I am just amazed at some of the ideas those wakos come up with and they actually believe them.

  15. Dan, in your description of the events that have unfolded, when describing the ideological nature of the individuals, you mentioned “right-wing” but seemed to leave out that there were “left-wing” people involved also..

  16. Guess I’m gonna have to tell the boss I can no longer work in any capacity in the city and county of san francisco as I now fear arrest as I have had some association with the NRA. Not really a bad thing.

  17. Let’s give that crappy piece of land with all the drugged up, retarded communist pigs back to Mexico. They are not worthy being called Americans.

  18. In the short term, this means nothing. In the long term, it’s very important.

Would-be tyrants always telegraph their intentions. Listen to what they say and follow it to its logical conclusion.

  19. Life time members should sue San Francisco across every state in the union for slander and calling us terrorists. Enough being defensive. We must start getting offensive through the courts then use the money to fight them with more litigation.

  20. As memory serves, we lived in The Bay Area many years ago, the Board of Supervisors are an elected body. I remember an old saw that ran as follows. People generally get pretty much the sort of government they did not vote against.

  21. That headline was my laff for the day.
A Kalifornia gubbermint person calling the NRA terrorists.
Any part and person who is in Kalifornia gubbermint is a National Terrorist and should all be hung by their toes from the rafters a half inch from their reach off the ground.
The state gubbermint of Kalifornia is full of national terrorists. We just cant jail them all…………yet.
I feel really bad for the few normal folks stuck in that hellhole of a state.
Newsome is number one on my terrorist list. Look at the things hes said and done on TV. Inserting his views in the middle of my favorite TV shows. Shame on him.

  22. Every organism must have its hindmost part, where waste ends up. So, too, a nation must have its hindmost part.

It is clear, then, that San Francisco is America’s @ssh0le.

  23. “The resolution has no legal weight”. What does that mean exactly? It still infers that all NRA members are domestic terrorist. Just like when a city council tells its contractors they may not be able to business with them anymore if they or their company officials support the NRA.

The fact is this can carry social weight. It can cause an astigmatism. Some liberal or snowflake will believe this and when you apply for a job or for credit, they will see the NRA logo and think, “this guy supports an organization that has links to domestic terrorist. Sure it may not get all of us put on a watch list or no fly list, but it is the beginning of a slippery slope.

The headline reads, “The NRA is a terrorist organization”. a few months later page 13 section D, in small print is a retraction. The courts have told the city council to stuff it. No one will read it, no one will care but we will still have ties to a suspected terrorist organization.

This is like when a prosecutor reminds a person on the stand that they are under oath, as if the person didn’t know that. But now at least some of the jury gets the feeling like the witness was planning to lie or has been lying. And with the NRA thing, half the House would love to push that narrative.

  24. A lot of people who fought actual terrorists where NRA members when I went across the pond. I don’t recall any of these politicians being in my platoon or anywhere around.

    They must be confused.

  25. Who gives a shit anymore what anyone in San Francisco, California says about gun owners? Their streets are filled with shit, urine and dirty needles. People shit in the streets while kids are walking by. People get strong arm robbed walking in broad daylight and the cops do nothing about it. These “leaders” can’t fix real problems so they sit there in thier own shithole of selfrightousness and condemn a bunch of people that subsidized thier stupidity.

  26. Harvey Milk died in 1978 at the hands of a man who ate too many Twinkies snacks. And with him was any Vestige of the Second Amendment representation on a political level in the city of San Francisco.

The socialist Progressive homosexuals who run San Francisco have more important things to chase after. Such as each other. Or the next marijuana cigarette from an ex gun store, the last one in San Francisco, that they helped to shut down.

Instead of waiting for Outsiders to come and rescue you what have the gun owners of the San Francisco Bay Area done lately to show they are really interested in Second Amendment civil rights?

I think back in 2014 there were open carry protests in various business establishments that were well-covered in the news including TTAG. So what happened to everybody? Where did they go? Are there not any individuals left in the Bay Area to fight for gun civil rights?

  27. The NRA didn’t do anything? The NRA can’t pass laws, that’s the legislature. Might as well say the legislature is a terrorist organization.

    Idiots.

  28. The state that renamed criminal descriptive words, and removed illegal from “aliens”, and do not support American Law, is now up on their high “Moral Horse” condemning the NRA, a legal and Constitutional rights defending organization. The inmates use to just run the Asylum, now they have branched out… and run the entire state of California!!!

  29. Now you know how the leftists in charge of a literal shit hole intend to distract from their complete and utter failure to keep their city from becoming known as the cesspool of America.

  30. So lets just declare the San Francisco Board of Stupidvisors a Public Health Menace and quarantine the Sh*thole by the Bay. Block off the Dookie Gate Bridge. Build that wall. I certainly wouldn’t miss California at all. Their contribution is more of a detriment than a positive.

  31. there are good, as well as dangerous and crazy people on both the left and the right. the difference in my opinion is that those on the right will hunker down and be a danger to anyone who comes to them. Those on the left will actively seek out someone they can disagree with in order to make a show of being injured and outraged, then they will attack.

  32. San Francisco, where those with a different political opinion are officially labeled as terrorists, and convicted murders and child rapists are “justice-involved persons.” The British phrase “First up against the wall when the revolution comes” springs to mind. Maybe charges of treason for giving aid and comfort to foreign invaders via their sanctuary city policy? Certainly defamation and civil rights lawsuits (suppressing 1st amendment rights) are in order.

  33. If the NRA had any balls, they’d put out a press release, “NRA Declares San Francisco Board of Supervisors a Domestic Terrorist Organization.”

  34. Are they going to put a checkpoint at the SAN FRANCISCO Va medical center (AKA Ft. Mily) and arrest us as terrorists? Or throw the net wider, and put the check point at the Golden Gate bridge? 70% combat disabled vet.

  35. I’ll value your opinion when you don’t have human feces lying around on the street.

    Anyways, the NRA isn’t a terror organization, it’s a racket/mafia.
