Press release [via ammoland.com]:

CAA, developers and manufacturers of advanced battle-tested firearms accessories, have received confirmation that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Firearms Technology Industry Services Branch (FTISB) has determined that the “l Stabilizing Brace” mounted on a semi-automatic pistol can now be lawfully shouldered and fired and is not classified as a “short-barreled rifle” as previously defined in the NFA, 26 U.S.C. § 5845(a) (3).

Announced just days ahead of the 146th National Rifle Associations’ Annual Meetings and Exhibitions held in Atlanta, Georgia, the classification is being heralded by CAA, CEO, Lt. Col. (IDF Ret.) Mikey Hartman, as a return to “common sense” firearms usage by responsible citizens of the United States.

“The Stabilizing Brace has been a great alternative for many disabled shooters and has provided a recourse for our injured vets to return successfully to a sport they love,” Lt. Col. (Ret. IDF) Mikey Hartman, CEO of CAA and Hartman Optics said. “The new ATF ruling is truly a common sense ruling in that many more people can now enjoy the flexibility the stabilizing brace offers, whether strapped to the arm or shouldered.”

The Micro RONI Stabilizer Brace conversion kit for Glock models has seen incredible press coverage. More end users embrace the ease of use and installation, improved handling and seriously improved accuracy out to 200 yards and beyond. “The Micro RONI is the fastest assembly and disassembly conversion kit on the market, as well as the most cost effective,” said Hartman.

No tools are needed to assemble and disassemble. The Micro RONI Stab is also available as an Advanced Kit which adds an integral 500 lumens flashlight, thumb rests, front and rear flip up sights, sling swivel and one point bungee style sling, giving the user added value.

  1. “The Stabilizing Brace has been a great alternative for many disabled shooters and has provided a recourse for our injured vets to return successfully to a sport they love,” Lt. Col. (Ret. IDF) Mikey Hartman, CEO of CAA and Hartman Optics said.

Disabled people I’ve seen using the brace as it was designed = zero
Regular people shouldering it = everyone, including disabled people

Screw the ATF, but seeing the “we love handicap people” card is just total marketing bullshit. lmao

    • The original brace was, in fact, designed for a disabled veteran who was not allowed to shoot his AR pistol, one-handed, at the range due to safety concerns of the safety officer.

    • Having shot an actual KRISS machine gun, I’ll beg to differ. The only thing I really don’t like about it is the separate safety / fire mode selector.

  2. It’s not THAT ugly. Tactically useless as it doesn’t really add anything to a Glock other than bulk, but not horrible. Honestly, I’d still rather have a MPX 4″ SBR with an echo trigger.

  3. Am I the only one here who thinks this thing looks awesome? It looks like something a marine in the year 2552 would use to fight space nazis on the dark side of the moon.

  4. I think we can all agree that “bullet buttons” and “high cap mag restrictions” are hurting our disabled veterans, making it more difficult for them to function.

  5. The non-NFA one isn’t the one pictured. Its the stabilizer brace version and it’s far uglier than the one pictured.

  6. It is a little known fact that the TTAG grandpappy worked at Los Alamos during the war. When he first laid eyes on Fat Man, he noted that it was ugly and asked for a redesign.

  7. I wonder if there was a way for someone to use one of these kits to build a P.O.G. firearm using a 80% Glock lower. Just remove the ‘stock’ and add a new for pistol grip. Long as it was made to the right length with now real ‘stock’ you would be theoretically fine.

  8. That thumb rest could easily make this an AOW – similar to a forward pistol grip on an AR-pistol. If it’s a pistol designed to fire with two hands = AOW.

  9. Why is everyone acting like the a TF can pass and rescind laws?
The whole thing about not shouldering us a pistol brace was an opinion letter by the ATF
This does not become law until someone is arrested and brought before a federal judge and the judge renders an opinion on the validity of this opinion letter as a matter of law
Of Course no one wants to be the test case, but this is not an actual law
