“The responsibility for this bloodshed falls squarely on the shoulders of those who have continued to engage in the idolatry of firearms in the wake of one massacre after another, whether for political power, or personal profit, or because they feel marginalized in modern America and seek a tool through which to enhance their control over others. It is they who ensure that one dangerous individual after another will be able to immediately – and often legally – access firearms in this country, no matter how many obvious warning signs these individuals display regarding a history of violence.” – Coalition to Stop Gun Violence press release

  1. As opposed to those who idolize the State, which has never ever been responsible for any bad thing ever.

    • Ahhhhhhh. A fresh new 2 minutes of hate from CSGV. Just like to society depicted in that novel, our antis really do believe in the high power of the government. Or more likely, the high power of supposed elites, aka royals and nobility, the control the non elite public, aka peasants. Whoa! I just described socialist society and the feudal/caste system at the same time. Almost like they’re really the same thing, just different millenia.

      • Pretty much. Socialiam/Feudalism/progressivism. It’s all the same, the elites with their Monopoly of Force, telling the “useless eaters and breeders” how to live, and the peasants bowing down and obeying their betters.

    • It’s lawful and orderly to increase attention seeking behavior when the desired response is not achieved.

The first wave of demands for “discussion” was no less attention seeking than the, now more common, insults, demands, and shaming.

The behavior is the same, only the magnitude has increased. Which is to be expected.

    • Yep. Nothing like calling those that practice the traditional American and universal human right of carrying tools for self-defense an “idol worshiping degenerate gun culture” , and then expect anything like a “rational” discussion.

After all, to have a rational discussion, one would need someone that wasn’t consumed with an irrational fear of an inanimate objecr.

  2. Be advised of narrative change.

More legal guns = more deaths.
Worship of guns = we are fanatics
    Legal carry = controlling others

They’re changing their message but fail to understand 2A has not changed in 230 years. Our job is to never give a inch.

      • “War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.”

Might as well be CSGV’s (and MDA, Brady, etc) rally cry.

    • And the underlying theme is that they don’t trust us and resent that we have a vote. Anybody who despises the people cannot succeed in the end. The Constitution guarantees democracy, but these fools neither understand nor believe in freedom. Generations past would be ashamed and disgusted by them.

  3. Their rant lost me at he was given the gun by his father. Now we know he passed the worthless background checks even with prior arrests. Stick a needle in him, bury in an unmarked grave, and never speak his name again.

  4. the little dick, racist, insurrectionist stuff they repeat over and over is annoying and tiresome, but simultaneously being blamed for mass murders AND accused of idolatry is positively infuriating.

    • +1

I think it’s rather sad that those who blindly follow this garbage haven’t ever taken the time to look around them and realize that most people are decent people trying to get by in the world. And then realize that, statistically, several of these decent people they encounter daily, who are like them, are probably gun owners and maybe even carrying concealed.

No, unfortunately, the followers of this trash are blind to the reality all around them.

  5. “The responsibility for this bloodshed falls squarely on the shoulders of those who have continued to engage in the idolatry of the state in the wake of one massacre after another, whether for political power, or personal profit, or because they feel marginalized in the modern world and seek a tool through which to enhance their control over others. • You showed perfectly how most of the anti-freedom zealots diatribes against gun owners are projections of thier own fears, compulsions and control issues,

    • I forwarded your correction with some additions to the email address that appeared in the diatribe.

“The responsibility for this bloodshed falls squarely on the shoulders of those who have continued to engage in the idolatry of the state in the wake of one massacre after another, whether for political power, or personal profit, or because they feel marginalized in the modern world and seek a tool through which to enhance their control over others. Gun registration and gun confiscation always lead to mass slaughter sanctioned by the state.

This is what your position inevitably leads to.

However, a person such as yourself is never willing to admit what the lessons of history tell us.

Nor are you even willing to admit such history exists.

Do some research on the Second Amendment and show me whether the Second Amendment was intended for citizenry to be able to protect themselves from government or was merely for “hunting” purposes.

Being as your ilk is intellectually dishonest and willfully obtuse while worshiping at the alter of the all powerful state, I suspect I’m more likely to see pigs fly before I’ll see anything resembling rational discussion.

      • Remarkable in that the volume of words try to overwhelm one conscience. When a fewer words have a measurable effect.

“The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.”

  6. Do these people ( I use the term loosely) actually read what they write? Their command and perception of English is lacking. Idolatry???? They are sounding more and more like the terrorists we will need our weapons to defeat. I care for and feed my guns, but idolize?? I don’t think so.

    • It’s kind of a strange choice of words to us, but look at it from their perspective; if we don’t agree with them, it must be because we are worshiping a graven image. We haven’t accepted Government as our personal lord and savior.

    • Gun indolatry, climate change deniers, apocalyptic prophecy, and a zealous sprial of hateful language in the face of defeat. And now the Pope’s on board. In case anyone was wondering whether statism is a religion. Anti-intellectualism at its finest.

  7. I know that I will someday meet my Maker. I am armed because there are those who believe they have the right to send me there before my job here is done.

  8. Clearly, liberal progressives have no concept of personal responsibility. One could commit mass murder for less money with a gasoline bomb. A$$holes will exist regardless of gun laws.

  9. This kind of rhetoric from them was inevitable. They never miss a chance to wave the bloody shirt in an attempt to achieve their goals. It is simply amazing how many people actually believe their propaganda. Read the comments to the article to see who the real zealots and fanatics are. They will do anything to bow down to the State and take away our rights in the imaginary quest for a world without violence. If all the guns disappeared tomorrow violence would still be with us and the frail, weak and minorities in our country would lose a valuable tool to protect them.

  10. Once again, a massacre happened not because of too many guns, but because of too few. Had even one victim been armed, 10 could have defended themselves. That all 10 victims were disarmed in a “gun free zone” falls squarely on the likes of CSGV.

But you tell us, CSGV: what gun control law would have prevented this massacre?

    • One where they relegate all guns in the U.S. to the surplus scrap metal heap. Because nothing happens outside our borders, y’know.

  11. The responsibility for this tragedy and others like it rests squarely on the shoulders of those who perpetuate hate and inequity, and feed on the divisiveness it creates. This includes old school racists clinging to “traditions” (KKK, et al), professional “community organizers” and self proclaimed class/ethnic group spokemen (Sharpton, Jackson, etc), the organizations that depend on inequality for status (NAACP, SPLC, etc…I might even go as far to add trade unions to some respect), and the media… oh yes…the darling fourth estate is the most complict fanning the flames

  12. Good ole ” colalition to stop freedom ’cause we said so”; have they never heard of root cause? If it were possible to evaporate all the guns from the world, they would just rename themselves to the coalition to stop knife violence, or blunt object violence or fist violence.

We should just call them the “colalition against root causes of violence”

    • No, because they would have to address the fact that the statist policies they support have caused the dissolution of the nuclear family in the poorer areas that are predominately minority. The exact same areas they have the most control over. No, better to stick to what you are doing.

      After all, GERNZ UR BERHD.

  13. Who else here enjoys being a blight on society, I sure do. The longer this goes on, and the less traction the antis have, I have noticed they have shifted from “its the gun’s fault” to “its the inbred raciss gun nut ammosexuals’ fault”. They are desending to a level I thought they would never reach. They are engaging in “hate tactics”, slander and smear your opponent until standers by accept what you say as truth, so it can be used as a pretense to take power and root out the “problem”.

    • The collective white noise of antis will amount to nothing, ink on paper doesn’t trump a round in the chamber when it comes to lawful self protection.

    • They have always been engaged in hate tactics. They pretend to care about one segregated demographic, by demonstrating hate for the one they point the finger at.

You’ll notice this pattern in pretty much every agenda in the democratic party. “We hate X, because X does Y, which proves we care about Z. Hate X because they’re doing Y to Z!” Y is usually not even a real thing, and nothing is happening to Z except that they fall for it.

I use the following example all the time. “If not for the Evil Republicans and their Gravity Conspiracy, we could all flap our arms and fly around for free! Instead, the Evil Republicans are forcing us to buy cars, ride the bus, buy gas, buy plane tickets, etc.! Hate the evil Gravity-mongers! See how much we love the victims of Gravity!? Vote for us, we’ll give you free stuff that we steal from the racists who inflict Gravity upon you!”

They’re so detached from reality, that they can’t comprehend the idea of “That’s just how it is.” Everyting they don’t like, everything that stands in the way of their fantasy utopia, is somebody’s fault, and they need to hate that somebody to prove how much they care about the ‘victims’ of mere reality…

  14. What’s with this “immediate” nonsense? Are we pretending now that any significant number of these mass shootings was a result of the impulse of the moment? He planned this month’s ahead of time. There was nothing immediate about it.

  15. Its the same thing over and over : Blame the gun. So if “GUNS KILL” then pens make spelling errors, cars drive drunk, and spoons make people fat. It’s NOT the tool it is the person using it because if it where the tool than all cops and soldiers would be murderers.
Criminals and the criminally INSANE just like drug dealers DON’T OBEY THE LAW.
The other thing is the politicians have armed protection.

  16. Guns are tools used in violence. Radical religion motivates violence. Which is more dangerous? How many have been killed because God said so? My gun doesn’t talk to me.

  17. The gun control issue looks like a bad science fiction movie plot to me.

The premise of the US Constitution hand laws ideally have been you are more or less free until you screw up. Once you become a criminal, your freedoms are substantially reduced (anything from being barred from purchasing a gun to going to jail).

Gun Control is based on reducing your freedoms because you have the potential to commit a crime. They reduce your freedom in the hope that it might reduce violence.

IMO they are severely underestimating the ability of the criminal minded and insane to work around any system. It is easy enough to pick countries with severe gun restrictions and find examples of low crime and high crime activity, which would lead one to the conclusion that the laws do very little to control crime.

  18. Listening to Face the Nation and the question what can we do to prevent another mass murder.

Listening to talking heads & elected representatives circle talk the question instead of speaking the truth saying nothing stops a murders’ mind nor his actions. Knowing more murders will happen its up to citizens to chose to lawfully carry a weapon to minimize the carnage.

  19. So an NRA member says “Eight of his church members who might be alive if he had expressly allowed members to carry handguns in church are dead. Innocent people died because of his position on a political issue.” and the media goes crazy. The CSGV releases that and there is not a word. Hmmm.

  20. Sheesh…pretty sick on a Sunday morning. To all you DADS who protect your kids with those awful guns-HAPPY FATHERS DAY!

  21. “… and seek a tool through which to enhance their control over others.” — Coalition to Stop Gun Violence

Now that is rich. Not that the good people of the United States seek to “enhance control over others”, but even if they did, why is it wrong if the good people of the United States do it but perfectly okay if the ruling class seeks to control others?

    • It’s so rich. They who seek to use the government to achieve utter control over people blame us for using the tools of liberty to control others. Such incredible projection.

  22. More Fascist crap from the Anti-American, Anti-Constitutional Section of the Democratic Party, Don’t you know Government knows best, tells you how to do everything but think for yourself, what Freedoms does a person have that the Government does not try to Squash! regulate or make up so many Bureaucratic rules with out legislation that you are in violation of something by just being!

  23. ‘…or because they feel marginalized in modern America and seek a tool through which to enhance their control over others…’

Controlling others with a firearm will get your gun taken away and your body thrown in a 6’x8′ cell for the next 20 years (if no one gets hurt). Seems like a silly thing to do for someone who ‘worships’ firearms.

  24. The responsibility for this bloodshed falls squarely on the shoulders of those….who systematically deny law self protection to the citizens of this country.

Who demonize individuals who choose to defend.

Who legislate restrictions to lawful citizen to carry arms.

Who refuse to acknowledge criminals violate the law.

Who empower legislators backed by judges and law enforcement to infringe on our natural right of public lawful self protection.

Who when givin one concession immediately demand more.

NEVER NEVER NEVER will we submitt any ground, any legislation to WHO again.

  25. We don’t pray to our guns, although from time to time we may beseech the almighty for a couple of bricks of .22LR.

    Hey, who wouldn’t?

    • We feeble humans are prone to looking at some superior being to intervene in our lives and make our problems go away. Fortunately we have the Bible to tell us who to ask. Inanimate objects of any kind are neither capable nor willing to do any of our bidding. A machine (such as a well crafted weapon) is useful and can be enjoyable when it performs as per expectations. However the kind of worship described in this article shows that (a) they are atheistic humanists unfamiliar with the concept of worship, and (b) they mock the concept in applying it as they do to weapons and their owners. This is pure sacrilege. About what you’d expect from these Godless miscreants. They also fail to understand that without guns there would BE no democracy. All that said, this is a genuine tragedy, and MY thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved. I hope the author wiped the spittle of outrage she undoubtedly left on her computer screen, and maybe could aspire to learn something about this fine country and its history, and the majority of wonderful people who completely outnumber the few crazies that it appears we are not able to stop before they commit such a heinous crime.

  26. > idolatry

Idolatry? Where do they dredge this stuff up? I have a fire extinguisher and an umbrella as well as weapons. I have each of them for a valid reason.

  27. I guess they’d really spew if someone photoshopped a dead fetus or a depiction of a phallus from an addadictomy operation or a ISIS terrorist holding a decapitated noggin or a tank rolling over some unfortunate American or any of a number of other offensive things in the place of the rifles in that ‘toon and labeled it as the CSGV alternative.

Apologies to those in the peanut gallery of liberal mindset yet honorably enjoy their 2nd amendment rights, but…cue the whole making omelettes trope.

    • “If I laugh so hard that I herniate, do I get to sue them?”

      No.

But if you are ‘lucky’ enough to have ObamaCare you can have it corrected surgically.

After you pay the hefty deductible and whenever they feel like getting around to scheduling the operation.

Until then, here’s a prescription for a nice semi-synthetic opioid painkiller.

Now, don’t get hooked on them while waiting a year or more for your surgery, OK?

(And no, I am *not* kidding about that)

  28. Disarm many over the actions of a few. The idea is to be armed against criminal activity/rogue government, not be unarmed in the face of it. Be prepared to defend all that is yours, no one else is obligated to.

  29. Socialism/Feudalism/progressivism and liberalism are ALL a degenerative mental disease. These government worshipers are no less dangerous than the taliban.

  30. When I clasp my empty hands together and ask god to keep some @sshole from killing me it will never work as reliably as clasping my hands around my carry gun.

    Amen or Aim’n?

  31. “I’m outraged that the NRA blamed the pastor’s politics for his people being helpless rather than the shooter. Oh, by the way, the NRA is responsible for this massacre.”

    Typical leftist hypocrisy.

Also, nice projection. We gun owners idolize nothing, we’re simply intelligent enough to recognize that possessing the means of defense is logical to self preservation. It is you who partake in the idolization of the State and all its lies, deceit, and murderous history.
