What I don’t understand is: why do people believe Romney when he is suddenly for 2A rights after his terrible record as governor but not Obama?
Some weeks ago, Ralph posted a comment and link to a MA pro-gun political advocacy organization that gave Romney’s record an overall good rating. Personally, I don’t trust and believe Romney or Obama about anything. They are politicians. Romney knows that if he wants to avoid becoming a lame-duck president with pro-gun Congressional members and not alienate voters next run he can’t turn on his support base.
The question isn’t if Romney will be good at 2A issues. The question is will he be better then Obama and I think most agree he will be better then Obama.

For those who aren’t following it the gentleman who did the anti-Islamic video that nobody saw was “brought in for questioning” at midnight last night. Obama doesn’t believe in any of the Bill of Rights First Amendment throught the Tenth. I have said this before but I it needs to be said again. The Bill of Rights stands and falls as whole. If you don’t 2nd you don’t support the 1st. We now have proof of that.
As part of the man’s parole from a prior conviction on Internet identity-theft fraud he was not allowed to use the Internet without his parole officer’s approval. He was brought in under that pre-text. A federal judge will determine if he violated his parole or not. Otherwise, you’re correct in that Obama (or IMO any modern politician) does not give a hoot about the Bill of Rights.
Do you believe that he would have been brought in if there had been no attacks in the Middle East this week? Obama is a wannabe dictator and while I do not believe the Obama is a religious Muslim (he is undoubtedly an atheist) he was raised in a Muslim culture and is very pro-Muslim.

The Libyan Government and US intelligence warned the State Department of the threat days before the event. The Video is a red herring. So let’s see, the Administration lies about a terrorist attack and instead blames it on a video and an obscure Florida pastor. They try to pressure Google into censoring the video and has the top military officer in the country call Rev Jones. Sounds to me that Obama failing to get he wants through subtle pressure goes full Boss and sends the local STASI to intimidate the guy who made the video.
He may or not have been brought in. But then, there is a little difference between going to an internet cafe to check his email (maybe no one would have noticed) and creating and publishing a highly controversial video and putting it on you tube. Now the latter was just bound to get someone’s attention and yes, he would have been brought in. But you would not have ever found out about it.
If the video happens to fan flames in the middle east, and the end result is a few dead, then not only does he get his parole officer’s attention, but the whole world knows about it.
And, in case you doubt the numbnuts in question knew what he was doing (and knew that it was bound to get him in trouble) he hired someone to be the spokesperson.

2. They invariably ask for my trust.

At the Federial level the Democrates haven’t been willing to touch 2a legistation. It is simple. After they passed the 1996 gun ban the NRA as well as other 2a groups went after the Dem that voted for the bill and many Dem lost there site. There are many Democrates out there that support 2a. Hell even a state like Maryland with it one party Rule many of the Dem try not to get on the bad side of MSI / NRA as they know it could cost them there seats. But even with the Democrates not wanting to hurt there changes for this election. There’s a KEY word in there, and it is” TRADITION
Traditions can be changed or done away with. Gun ownership in the U.S.A. is not a “tradition.” It is a RIGHT. Blowing off fireworks on the 4th of July is a tradition. Gun ownership was made a right and is the very foundation of establishing this free country.
By demoting gun ownership to “tradition” status, it leaves the door open for the antis to change or outlaw that tradition.
